The New Residents:
499 B.C
Merlin had the sword of Excalibur in his hands and stood in a circle with the twelve knights of the round table.
We've defeated the Dark Druids after a long battle with the sword. Their Dark Mark shall disappear. But the stars tell me that after the second millennium, the evil will rise again. 5 children will be born with special abilities, who are destined to the evil, but they are in huge danger. The evil will try to take that power and exploit it. They will only succeed if the accept their powers and work together, they will be able to defeat the Dark Druids and their mark. The Faith of the sword is lying in their hands.
Present day.
Skyla was in her room talking on the phone with her mother.
"I can wait for you, then we'll eat together," said Skyla.
"I'll be home late, Skyla," said Mrs. Tolliver.
"But yesterday I was also home alone," said Skyla
"Sweetheart, it's difficult right now, your father is out of the country and I'm have a lot to do at my job," said Mrs. Tolliver. "But."
"But what?" Asked Skyla
"I didn't want to tell you over the phone, but you're going to be living somewhere else for a while, said Mrs. Tolliver.
"What?" Asked Skyla.
"You're really going to like it there," said Mrs. Tolliver.
"But that isn't necessary," said Skyla.
"And at your new school they have a nice library, said Mrs. Tolliver. And maybe you can make some real friends.
"I've a friend," said Skyla.
"A human Skyla, not a stuffed animal," said Mrs. Tolliver.
In a hotel kitchen, one of the chefs opened the pantry and there was Milo in there and he was juggling some oranges. The chef walked away again and Milo came out of the pantry.
"Tada! Did you guys see that? I was in there for three hours, three hours! Did someone see it? Anyone?" Asked Milo
Skyla had a letter in her hands and sat down on her bed, she opened the letter and began to read. But Skyla was not the only one that had received a letter, one of the cooks also gave Milo a letter, which he began to read upside down, but one of the cooks put the letter right.
"Dear Skyla," read Skyla.
Raphael who was sitting behind the piano at his house was also reading the letter.
"I'm honored to tell you, that you've been selected to live in Anubis house," read Raphael.
Percy had also received a letter and was also reading it, walking around his room with his voice recorder in his hand.
"I'm looking forward to welcome you tomorrow in Anubis house, Sincerely Arlene," said Percy.
After one of Anastacia's staff members read the letter aloud to her she sat up straight, feeling a bit shocked.
"Excuse me? I can expect that I get my own wing," said Anastacia. "Does it say anything about a wing?"
"There is not about a own wing?" Said the staff member.
Unlike Anastacia, Raphael's father was pleased with the news.
"There won't be any distractions that will keep you from your piano practice," Mr. Haas. "Why don't I hear anything?"
"Yes dad," said Raphael.
Raphael started playing and his father left the room, once his father was gone Raphael stopped playing.
"I hope that won't be any fathers who'll plan every moment of your day," said Raphael.
Milo was very happy with the news and jumped on one to with joy and then ran happily around the kitchen, much to the irritations of the cooks.
"Awesome! I'm going to Anubis House!" Cheered Milo.
Percy sat at his desk and found the situation only suspicious and so had many questions.
"How did my parents afford this? Why I'm selected? Who's Arlene?" Asked Percy. "A lot of questions, but yet no answers to them, this needs further ingestions."
The next day, Milo was running through the woods on his way to Anubis house, he ran past a large tree, he then came back to the tree and looked at it
"I've the feeling that've been here before," said Milo. "Hey dude, I know that you usually don't speak, but have I been here before?"
A big black car also drove in the direction of Anubis house, in the car sat Anastacia and her driver.
"There is no chlorine in the pool right? They know have to know that I can stand it, right? Or else I can't swim, which is something I wasn't able to do today", said Anastacia.
The driver accidentally almost knocked Anastacia's suitcase to the floor.
"Watch it, nothing can happen to my medicine, do you got that? I've to be able to use it right away," said Anastacia.
The alarm on Anastacia's phone went off and she looked at her phone and was not happy.
"I've already missed my eye drop now," said Anastacia. "Once we're there, my suitcase has to go to bathroom immediately, I do have my own bathroom right?"
Raphael was walking in the woods on his way to Anubis house, he had been talking to his father on the phone almost the whole way.
"No, I'm still on my way to the house. No I can't see what time it's, Because I'm talking to you on the phone, dad," said Raphael. "Yes, well I've ten minutes left don't I? Yes, sorry, I'll practice more tonight, okay. Yes I promise, bye dad."
Milo was still wandering around in the forest, he tried to open a map on his phone but couldn't because there was poor reception in the forest. Milo grabbed a map from his bag and when he looked again he saw that he was next to the tree again.
"If I hold the map like this and I walk backwards, then it should be right, right?" Asked Milo, he turned his head and saw that was standing next to the tree. "No! Dude! Did you follow me? No, off course not, I'm back at the same spot, again."
In the meantime Percy had arrived at Anubis house first, he looked at the picture of the house on his phone and then looked at the house, he put his phone away in his pocket, grabbed his bags and walked towards Anubis house.
"I just arrived at Anubis house," said Percy.
Milo was still walking through the forest and he ended up back at the place where the big tree was.
"Ugh, you've to stop following me! You and I aren't together, we're broken up!" Yelled Milo.
Milo made a hole in the map and stuck his head through it and started walking again.
Skyla was also on her way to Anubis house, she was quite nervous and started talking to Mouse.
"What it we're the first one there? They'll probably think it's stupid, maybe we should walk a little slower," said Skyla.
Skyla began to walk more slowly.
"But what if we arrive last then? And then everyone will already be there," said Skyla.
Skyla started walking fast, she wasn't really paying attention and bumped into Milo, this made her drop her bag and Mouse fell out of her bag.
"I'm sorry," said Skyla.
Skyla picked up her bag and Milo picked up Mouse.
"Finally I'm free! Now I can join the circus as a talking cat!" Said Milo in a silly voice.
"Can I've him back please?" Asked Skyla softly.
"What, I can keep him?" Milo asked.
"No," said Skyla. "Can I've him back please?"
Milo teased Skyla by not giving Mouse back, Skyla quickly grabbed Mouse back from Milo and started walking quickly.
"Don't worry you little kitty, one day I'll save you! The Cat Liberation Squad, is there to the rescue!" Said Milo
Skyla quickly walked in another direction and Milo went the other way.
Percy had already entered the house and walked through to the living room, he saw that Arlene standing in the kitchen and she was grabbing something from the refrigerator. Percy grabbed his voice recorder and turned it on.
"There is a woman here, she's presumably the lady of the house. She is walking towards me with a yellow substance, this most likely…," said Percy, but stopped when Arlene walked up to him
"Orange juice, you like that don't you?" Asked Arlene.
Percy nodded with his head and took the glass.
"If you want to call your parents you can use the phone that's down in the corridor," said Arlene.
When Arlene wasn't looking Percy grabbed a thermometer from his coat pocket and put it in the orange juice. Arlen turned around and Percy quickly retrieved the thermometer the glass.
"You'll probably enjoy it here and the others will arrive soon," said Arlene. "Shall I show you your room?"
"Yes, that's okay," said Percy.
"Come," said Arlene.
Arlene walked toward the hallway, Percy grabbed a vial from one of his other pockets and put some of the orange juice in it.
Anastacia was still on her way, she was talking a lot, but the driver wasn't paying much attention.
"The staff received my menu right? Did they confirm that? You know the only thing I'm allowed to eat tonight is Caesar salad with biological chicken," said Anastacia.
Again an alarm clock rang, Anastacia looked at her phone and again was not happy.
"I've officially missed the lunch. If they didn't receive my menu, then I can't eat whole day, said Anastacia.
But her driver wasn't listening, then Anastacia saw that he had earplugs in, she pulled the earplugs out.
"Harry!" Yelled Anastacia.
The scream in his ear caused Harry to get startled and let go off the wheel and lose control of the car,
"Can you pay attention please?" Asked Anastacia.
Meanwhile in the house. Percy followed Arlene to his new room.
"Look this is your room," said Arlene.
Percy and Arlene entered the room, there was a large closet, two desks and two bunk beds.
"You're afraid of heights right?" Asked Arlene.
"Yes," said Percy.
"So that's why I thought it was a good idea to give you the bottom bunk," said Arlene.
"Okay," said Percy.
Percy put down his things and then he saw on the desk closest to his bed he saw a fishbowl
"My guppies," said Percy.
"I thought you would like that, that way you would feel more at home," said Arlene.
Skyla had also arrived at Anubis house, she put her bags down a looked at the house.
"Well we're here," said Skyla.
She grabbed her bags and walked toward the house, but before she even got to the door she turned around and walked away from the house.
"Come on Skyla, don't be a wimp," said Skyla.
Skyla took a deep breath and walked toward the house again, she didn't realize that Percy was spying from his room with his binoculars , he grabbed his voice recorder and turned it on.
"An unknow person just rang to doorbell, the arrival of the presumably new resident is exactly one hour, eleven minutes and eight seconds after me," said Percy as he looked at his watch. "The person is a female, her name is unknow, so is her age, This situation asks for further investigation from a better position."
Percy left his room and in the meantime Arlene had opened the door for Skyla.
"You must be Skyla," said Arlene.
"Yes, Skyla, I'm," said Skyla
"I'm Arlene," said Arlene.
"Are the others…?" Asked Skyla.
"You're not the first nor you're the last one to arrive, come inside," said Arlene.
Skyla grabbed her bags and walked into the house.
"Want me to take your coat? Asked Arlene.
"Yes," said Skyla.
Skyla took off her coat and handed it to Arlene, Percy sat at the top of the stairs with his voice recorder.
"Investigation continues, my new location: Top of the stairs. My gut was right, the unknow girl is a new resident, the girls is wearing glasses and a pair of gloves," said Percy.
Percy saw that Skyla was taking of her gloves and noticed the other pair of gloves she was wearing underneath it
"Underneath the pair of gloves she is wearing another pair of gloves and she doesn't take these off. The room temperate is 20 degrees Celsius, so gloves shouldn't be need, I need to investigate this further," said Percy.
"Do you want me to show you your room?" asked Arlene.
"Yes, that's fine," said Skyla.
Skyla grabbed her bags and walked upstairs with Arlene.
In the meantime, Milo was still in the woods, sitting on the ground and by the tree
"No, let Milo go on his own, then we're rid of him. No, you shouldn't bring Milo, let him go alone, he'll find it," said Milo
As Milo closed his eyes, one of the branches of the tree broke off and landed on Milo.
"Dude, do you think this is normal!" Yelled Milo.
Milo looked at the branch looked like a divining rod and got a smile on his face.
"I'll never forget you," said Milo to the tree. "Take me to Anubis house."
The branch began to move and Milo was so somewhat dragged by the branch, and hopefully for him to Anubis house.
Meanwhile, Skyla was in her new room and got a little tour from Arlene.
"This is your bed," said Arlene, as she pointed to the bottom bed of the bunk bed.
"Books, said Skyla, as she walked over the bookcase.
"Yeah, I thought you would like that, so you would feel more at home here," said Arlene.
"Thank you," said Skyla
"Take your time, once you're done you can drink something downstairs, only if you want to of course," said Arlene.
Percy was in his room inspecting his bed.
"Comforter is probably 50% duck, 50% goose," said Percy. After inspection his bed he got up and walked over the door. "The distance from my bed to the door…."
Percy's watch went off, he walked over to one of his suitcases and opened it, the suitcases only filled with deodorant cans, he grabbed one of the cans and walked out of the room.
Arlene walked down she walked toward a room, grabbed the keys and opened the door and went inside. Arlene walked over to the bookcase and removed some books and grabbed a phone.
"Two out of the five are here, said Arlene.
"Once they are all here, we'll begin, said the mysterious man
Skyla was sitting on the windowsill in her room and had the letter her mother had given her in her hands.
"To Skyla, open it when you're in Anubis house," said Skyla
Skyla took letter out of the envelope and started reading.
Dear Skyla,
If everything went well, then you're now in your new house. Stay true to yourself and I'm sure that you're going to make loads of friends. Mum and dad think about you and we will talk soon.
Love mum and dad.
"I wasn't the last one to arrive, so someone will probably join us," said Skyla as she looked at the four poster bed. "With another girl in our room. it will be fun, right?"
From the bushes Milo came running, he bumped over a stone and when he looked up he saw the house.
"No! No way! I made it! We made it! Yes! Go Milo, go Milo, Milo, yeah!" Cheered Milo as he was doing a little victory dance.
Milo grabbed his things and walked toward the house.
Meanwhile, Skyla had sat downstairs, Arlene had poured her some tea and prepared some cookies for her and sat down next to her.
"It takes some getting used to everything that's new right?" Asked Arlene. "It's fine, everyone feels that way."
"Okay," said Skyla.
"And if you need anything, you can always ask me," said Arlene.
The conversation was interrupted by the sound of the doorbell ringing.
"There is the next one, I'll be right back," said Arlene.
Arlene got up and walked over to the door.
"Milo?" Asked Arlene.
"Fletcher, that's me 365 days per year," said Milo.
Skyla recognized Milo's voice right away and she knew that he was the boy she bumped into in the woods.
"Come inside," said Arlene. "Where you able to find it easily?"
"No, not at all, It was a super hard journey, but I don't have to work out for the rest of the year," said Milo
"Poor boy, you must be hungry," said Arlene.
"Then you've read my mind," said Milo.
Milo entered the house and walked straight to the living room with Arlene.
"Skyla, this is Milo. Milo, this is Skyla," said Arlene.
"Hello," said Milo
"I'm going to make something to eat for you," said Arlene.
"Sweet," said Milo
Arlene walked over to the kitchen.
"Hello, how you doing? Do you come here…?" Asked Milo
Skyla turned to Milo and he stopped talking right away.
"The Cat Liberation Squad is present in Anubis house," said Milo
Milo walked over the table and sat down.
"Where is he? The cat! Where is the cat?" Asked Milo.
"What do you mean?" Asked Skyla.
"Milo Fletcher from The Cat Liberation Squad, said Milo, as he pulled out a card from his pocket and showed it to Skyla.
"That's a library card," said Skyla.
"If you don't give the cat to me, then I've to kidnap him and when I give him back, it will be..," said Milo, but stopped once Arlene came into the living room.
"And? Were you able to get to know each other?" Asked Arlene.
"Yes and it was fun," said Milo.
"Here you go," said Arlene.
Arlene but down a cake in front of Milo but, he didn't seemed too excited about is.
"I thought you were hungry?" Asked Arlene.
"Yeah, I'm, but I'm missing something," said Milo.
Arlene walked toward the cupboard and grabbed a jar of sambal and set it down by Milo. Milo opened the jar and smeared sambal all over his cake and took a bite of his cake. With his mouth just about covered in that sambal he smiled at Skyla, who said nothing and just thought it was strange.
In the meantime, Percy was in Skyla's room.
"Investigation reopened, location: Unknow girl," said Percy.
Percy walked around the room and stopped at the desk, he took off the letter written by Skyla's mother.
"Skyla, the girl's name is Skyla," said Percy and then he walked over to the bookcase. "I can see that this Skyla likes to read."
Percy walked toward the windowsill and saw a small think with something under it.
"Unknow object under a blanket on the windowsill," said Percy.
He grabbed his reaching claw and removed the think and sat that Skyla's stuffed toy was under it. Percy picked up the stuffed toy and inscribed it.
"The unknow object is a stuffed animal, a cat, the cat is black and I believe to 5,51 inches tall. It's made out of polyester," said Percy and then he sniffed the stuffed toy. "It's smells musty and also sweet. The cat shown to be worn out around the middle and the neck, I can conclude that's Skyla favorite stuffed animal."
Skyla sat alone in the living room and was being watched by the mysterious man, she got a strange feeling and turned around and the lens disappeared. Skyla got up and left the living room, a few seconds later Percy entered the living room and talked into his voice recorder.
"First impression: The third resident is a boy, name is unknow," said Percy. "Someone has been eating at the table, there are bits of cookies and cake and an unknow red substance."
Percy dipped his finger in the red sauce and tasted it and quickly figured out it was so sambal and ran to the faucet, turned it on trying to put out his mouth.
"Sambal, the red substance is sambal, spice level from one to ten, a 9," said Percy.
Percy turned around and saw that a shelf in the kitchen cupboard was filled with jars of sambal and on all the jars was a picture of Milo.
"The closest shelve is filled with jars of sambal, they belong to Milo, the new resident is named Milo, But why was the sambal on the cake? this unusual eating habit needs further investigation," said Percy.
In the meantime Anastacia had arrived at the house, her driver took her things out of the car and she looked at the house and was not really impressed.
"Is this the shed? I don't see stables or a home for the staff. Is it below ground?" Asked Anastacia.
The driver said nothing and continued unloading the suitcases, as soon as he was done he got back into the car.
"I've to call my parents,' said Anastacia.
But before Anastacia could call her veins she was distracted by her driver driving away hard and now she was here all alone.
Percy was in his room and looked at the things on the bed that was above his bed, from this he could conclude that these were Milo's things.
"Milo has some peculiar objects," said Percy.
Percy stopped his investigation as soon as he heard the sound of the doorbell.
"The ringing of the doorbell has to be investigated later, I keep going with investigation of Milo," said Percy.
Percy focused again on his investigation on Milo and saw a few other things on his bed.
"Milo has some chocolate bars lying on his bed, I'll investigate this later," said Percy.
Percy's watch went off again, he stopped his investigation of Milo. Percy opened his suitcase and took out a new bottle of deodorant and walked out of the room.
Anastacia was in the house and getting a tour from Arlene.
"And how many people live here?" Asked Anastacia.
"There are five of you," said Arlene.
"Five? That will never fit right?" Asked Anastacia.
"It will be fine, just wait and see," said Arlene.
And while Arlene continued with the tour, Raphael had already almost arrived at the house.
"No dad, I'm nearly there, I can almost see the house, yes I'm going to practice right away, I promise dad and if it isn't there I will call you, bye dad," said Raphael.
In the meantime, Skyla was in her room and was drawing and telling Mouse about Milo.
"Then he put sambal on his cake. Who puts sambal on cake? Did you ever seen something like that?" Asked Skyla. "And then he started again about that The Cat Liberation Squad, but don't worry you stay with me."
The door opened and Anastacia and Arlene walked into the room.
"Skyla, this is Anastacia, your roommate," said Arlene.
"Hi," said Skyla, as she reached out her hand.
"I don't want a roommate," said Anastacia.
"But there aren't any rooms left, And I'm sure that you and Skyla will have a great time together," said Arlene.
"Who?" Asked Anastacia.
"Your roommate," said Arlene.
"I believe I need to lay down," said Anastacia.
Anastacia walked over to her bed and lay down, at that same moment the doorbell rang.
"I'll be right back," said Arlene, as she left the room.
"Thingy? The curtains need to be closed," said Anastacia.
"Yes," said Skyla.
Skyla got up and closed the curtains, she walked back to her desk and turned on the light.
"And the lights need to be turned off," said Anastacia.
"But then I can't draw," said Skyla.
"And it has to be quiet," said Anastacia.
Skyla turned off the light and just sat in silent.
Arlene came downstairs and opened the door for Raphael.
"Raphael," said Arlene.
"That's right, with PH, without a F," said Raphael.
"Well, you're right on time, come in," said Arlene.
"Raphael stepped into the house and looked around.
"You can give me your jacket," said Arlene.
Raphael put his bags down, took off his bag and handed his coat to Arlene and she hung it up.
"If you walk with me I'll show you your room," said Arlene.
Raphael grabbed his things and followed Arlene upstairs.
The mystery man was in his room looking at the pictures of the five new residents.
"Percy, Skyla, Milo, Anastacia and Raphael," said the mysterious man. "They're all here, finally."
The mysterious man walked toward a crystal dome, which contained a faceless blue spirit.
"Ewan, it won't be much longer brother, before I take their special abilities to bring you back to life," said the mysterious man.
What does the mysterious man plan for Percy, Skyla, Milo, Anastacia and Raphael? Why are these 5 children in Anubis house? And what makes them so special?
