A Strange Voice:
It was still early in the morning, the sun was slowly rising. Raphael was awakened by the sound of his waking, he turned off his alarm clock, got up, grabbed some clothes and left the room. When Raphael was out of the room, Percy opened his eyes and turned on his recorder.
"Location: Boys' room. Investigation resident five, Raphael," said Percy. "Time of arrival 31 minutes after Anastacia."
Percy got out of bed and sat down on the chair to put on his shoes.
"Something very peculiar about Raphael, he doesn't take off his headphones, not even when he was sleeping. Raphael is not a talker, he barley said eleven words," said Percy. "He woke up an hour and half before the rest. Why he get's up so early is unknow."
In the meantime in the girls' room. Anastacia slowly began to wake up.
"Harry? Harry? Julia? Ruben? Hello? Is someone there?" Asked Anastacia, still half asleep.
"I'm here," said Skyla, as she slowly woke up, after hearing Anastacia.
"Who?" Asked Anastacia.
"Skyla," said Skyla.
"Who?" Asked Anastacia again.
"Your roommate," said Skyla. "You're in Anubis house, remember?"
"I'm thirsty," said Anastacia.
"There is water in the bathroom," said Skyla.
"At my house my morning drink is always next to my bed," said Anastacia.
"Shall it get it for you?" Suggested Skyla.
"I would love that," said Anastacia.
"Come right up," said Skyla.
"The water needs to be from the fridge, I can't have water from the faucet. And with 3 cubes of ice, rule 43," said Anastacia.
"Yeah," said Skyla.
Skyla put on her glasses, got up and walked out of the room and less than a second later she walked back into the room.
"It's was rule 44, no?" asked Skyla.
"Thingy, you know them by heart? Well done," said Anastacia.
Skyla walked toward the stairs to go downstairs, but stopped when she heard noises coming from upstairs.
"Hello, is someone there?" Asked Skyla. "No, Skyla, this isn't a scary house."
In the meantime, Percy had followed Raphael to a spot in the woods. Percy hid behind a tree and watched Raphael exercising, but he also noticed right away that it were particular exercises.
"Raphael seems to be doing sports, but I've never seen exercises like that before," said Percy.
Percy looked again at Raphael who was doing an exercise with his fingers, then the exercise became more and more strange. Raphael climbed a tree and hung in it bottom up, stretching his arm and doing exercises with his fingers.
"Why Raphael is getting up so early to do this remarkable exercises is still unknow," said Percy. "What use do they have? Does he do them every morning?"
A few moments later. Skyla and Milo were sitting at the table for breakfast. Skyla had some cornflakes and Milo had made himself a croissant with sambal. Skyla wasn't really concentered on her breakfast, mostly because she found Milo's habit of putting sambal on everything bizarre and also a little gross frankly.
"Do you like it?" asked Milo.
"Why do you ask?" Asked Skyla.
"You're eating so slowly," said Milo. "Or is it because of those silly gloves?"
Having made another comment about her gloves, Skyla hid her hands under the table.
"Or don't you have any hands at all? Or are you afraid to say it that you don't like it?" asked Milo.
"I like it," said Skyla.
"Yeah? Here," said Milo.
Milo emptied the little bit of sambal left in the jar into Skyla's cornflakes.
"It's really delicious, try it," said Milo
Skyla took a scoop of her cornflakes a smelled it, at that same moment Arlene entered the living room.
"Do you like sambal too, Skyla?' Asked Arlene.
"Well, it doesn't matter," said Skyla.
"Milo," said Arlene.
"What?" Asked Milo.
"Milo!" Said Arlene.
"She wanted to try herself, really," said Milo.
"I'll grab you a new one, said Arlene, as she grabbed Skyla's bowl of the table.
"Dude," said Milo.
"Excuse me," said Anastacia.
Skyla and Milo turned to see Anastacia standing in the living room dressed in her bathrobe and bathing cap on her head.
"Can someone tell me where the pool is, please?" Asked Anastacia.
"We don't have a pool," said Arlene.
"You mean I've to walk to it?" Asked Anastacia.
"No, sorry, I mean that we really don't have a pool around here," said Arlene.
"No, pool? But where do I've to swim my laps?" Asked Anastacia.
"If you want, I can lift you and you can swim in the air," suggested Milo.
"No, I rather swim in pool filled with chlorine then that," said Anastacia.
"By the way, there isn't time for that, you should get dressed," said Arlene.
"What do you mean?" Asked Anastacia.
"Well you guys have to go to school soon," said Arlene.
"School?" Asked Anastacia.
In the meantime, Percy was in his room inspecting his school uniform seeing what fabrics it was all made of.
"Shirt is white and made out of 100 precent cotton. Pants are also cotton have a khaki color. Uniform is complete with a dark green and navy blue stripped tie, most likely made out silk," said Percy.
Percy put on his uniform and over pulled on a green zipper hoodie vest over his shirt. After he was done, he watched beeped, he took a can of deodorant and left the room.
Skyla was in her room and was sitting in the windowsill with Mouse in her hands. Skyla had also changed for school and she was wearing a green cardigan over her shirt.
"I'm really excited," said Skyla. "It's going to be fun, right?"
Skyla thought back to yesterday and about all the rules Anastacia had told her. She felt especially sad for Anastacia that she has so much problem with her eyes.
"Anastacia is nice, she is just special. She has 123 rules for her eyes. I think it's really seems hard if you have that much trouble with your eyes," said Skyla.
Skyla thought back to breakfast and about how Milo made another comment about gloves, which made her unconformable again. She was also thinking about the fact that Milo puts sambal on everything he eats.
"Milo asked about my gloves again, I didn't say anything. Did you know that he puts sambal on everything, that's really gross," said Skyla.
Also Skyla thought back to yesterday when she met Percy and Raphael. Her first impression was that they both seemed very friendly.
"I met the other two boys, Percy and Raphael, they seem nice. Raphael is so handsome," said Skyla. "Please tell me I didn't say that out loud?"
Skyla smiled shyly and started to blush and was honestly with that no one could hear her, except Mouse, but she knows that he won't say anything back or pass it on anyway.
A few moments later in the boys' room. Percy was busy packing his bag for school, Milo was sitting on his bed and was busy tying his tie, but this didn't go quite right because very elsewhere with his thoughts.
"Anastacia and Milo in a lighthouse enjoying a romantic sunset. Milo and Anastacia hang gliding," said Milo.
"Hang gliding?" Asked Percy.
"Yeah dude, it can't get any more romantic then that," said Milo. "Dude I just can't wait anymore."
Milo finished tying his tie, but he didn't do a really good job of it, as he tie was tied sloppy, he jumped off his bed and walked over to Percy.
"But I don't have to, it's just a matter of days," said Milo
"Days, yeah, yeah," said Percy in a tone like he was not believing Milo.
"Hey Percy can you vision it?" Asked Milo as he put on a pair of fake glasses with giant lenses.
"No, not really," said Percy.
"That's because you don't know anything about love," said Milo. "How about if I ask Anastacia if she has a hot sister?"
"No, thank you, that's not necessary," said Percy.
"You right, girls like that aren't your type," said Milo." I've got it!"
"What?" Asked Percy.
"Isn't Catgirl a good girl for you?" Asked Milo.
"Skyla," said Percy.
"You know her name," said Milo.
"I know your name too," said Percy.
"Whoa dude, are you into me or something?" Asked Milo.
Percy said nothing and looked direction of the door, Milo also looked at the door and then back at Percy.
"What?" Asked Milo.
"Oh nothing, I thought I saw Anastacia walk by," said Percy.
"Anastacia! Anastacia! Anastacia!" Shouted Milo.
Milo grabbed his bag and sprinted out of the room and hoped he will catch up with Anastacia, not knowing that Percy was lying and Percy couldn't help laughing a little because of this.
At the same time in the girls' room, Skyla was packing her bag, Anastacia sat on her bed and looked at Skyla with a bit of a confused look.
"What are you wearing?" Asked Anastacia.
"My school uniform," said Skyla.
"School uniform?" Asked Anastacia.
"Yeah, this what we wear when we go to school," said Skyla.
"So I've to wear it too?" Asked Anastacia in horror
"Yes, you've to wear it too," said Skyla.
"Why?" Asked Anastacia.
"Because it's part of the school rules," said Skyla.
"I thought we would be home schooled. Do have to go there every day?" Asked Anastacia.
"No, not in the weekends," said Skyla.
"And what do we do there at that school?" Asked Anastacia.
"All kind of things. You write and read a lot. You listen to the teachers, make assignments, those kind of things that have to do with leering," said Skyla.
"Is there a riding school?" Asked Anastacia.
"No," said Skyla.
"Ice ring? Shops? Beauty parlors?" Asked Anastacia.
"No, none of those things," said Skyla.
"I don't get it, if there isn't anything fun to do there, then it's just dull. Why does everyone go there?" Asked Anastacia. "I mean I've always been home schooled, I've never been to a regular school, I never even set foot in a school."
"Never? Not even to a private primary school?" Asked Skyla.
"What is a primary school?" Asked Anastacia.
"Well, there are fun things in school you know," said Skyla.
"Oh like what?" Asked Anastacia.
"There is a library, according to my mother there are lot of books in the school library, that's fun right?" Asked Skyla.
"Is there someone who reads the books to us? Asked Anastacia.
"No, you've to do that yourself," said Skyla.
"Why didn't they just build the school? Now we've to walk every day," complained Anastacia.
"Well we're not the only one who go to the school, there are also students who don't live here, that go there," said Skyla.
"Really? How many?" Asked Anastacia.
"I don't know that exactly," said Skyla.
A few minutes later, Skyla was in the bathroom brushing her teeth.
"Skyla."
Skyla stopped brushing and turned around but saw no one, she turned back toward the sink and continued brushing again. After she finished brushing she washed her mouth and put her toothbrush away.
"Skyla!"
"Hello!" Said Skyla.
But there was no answer. Skyla didn't have a good feeling and walked out of the bathroom.
In the meantime, Arlene had gone to the mystery room down the hall with a cup of tea. Arlene walked into the room and there sat the mysterious man, she handed the mysterious man the cup of tea.
"The boys have gone to school. Anastacia and Skyla will go in a bit. I've gave them everything they need," said Arlene.
"Good. They have to feel a home soon," said the mysterious man. "Then we can begin."
What is about to begin? What are Arlene and the mystery man planning for the five teenagers? And who was that voice that Skyla heard?
