The Observation:
"The girl with the gloves, Skyla," said Mr. Danbury.
"Yes, Skyla, I'm," said Skyla.
"Tell me," said Mr. Danbury.
Skyla turned and saw the headmaster standing there and he did not look happy, he closed the door and sat down at his desk.
In the meantime in the drama room, Percy was on stage inspecting three bowls of chips.
"This one is brand chips," said Percy, pointing at the middle bowl. "The other two are store brand."
The boy who was on stage with Percy pulled bag of chips behind his back and nodded his head, everyone started clapping for Percy.
"This is really impressive, really impressive. But it doesn't have anything to do with musical," said Ms. Mills.
"You didn't ask," said Percy.
"No, no, that's true, very observant of you," said Ms. Mills.
Back in the headmaster's office, who still wanted to know what Skyla was doing in his office, but she just couldn't come up with an excuse.
"I don't know what to say," said Skyla.
"What you're doing here, in my office?" Asked Mr. Danbury.
"I thought that this was the restroom," said Skyla as that was the fastest excuse she could come up with.
"The restroom?" Asked Mr. Danbury.
"Yes, but I see that was mistaken," said Skyla.
Skyla quickly left the office, not realizing she had lost her necklace.
Back in the drama room, Milo was working on his act, he was wrapping his head with papier-mache, this caused some worried looks.
"When I'm ready and I'll let it dry to be hard," said Milo.
After Milo had completely wrapped his head, he received a soft round of applause, he took a step forward and fell off the stage, he quickly got back to his feet and sat down. Anastacia took to the stage and began her scene.
"Dear world, I want money and power! I want power! I want it now! Now! And I want it fast," said Anastacia
The scene was interrupted by Skyla entering the classroom and all eyes were now on Skyla, something Anastacia did not like. Mrs. Mills stood up and walked toward Skyla.
"And I don't want any interruptions, No, interruptions. I was in the middle of my solo, I was really getting in to it," said Anastacia.
"Are you part of this class as well?" Asked Ms. Mills.
"Yes," said Skyla.
"You're a bit late," said Ms. Mills.
"Sorry, I couldn't find it," said Skyla.
"Well, it can happen, next time you have to be on time," said Ms. Mills. "You can take the stage for your solo."
"Solo?" Asked Skyla.
"Yes, do something you like, like singing," said Ms. Mills.
"I can't sing," said Skyla.
"You can do something else, you're allowed to choose anything," said Ms. Mills.
Meanwhile in the headmaster's office. Mr. Danbury had found Skyla's necklace and picked it up off the floor, he looked at the necklace and the stone turned black, he closed his hand, holding the necklace tightly.
Back in the drama room, Skyla stood nervously on the stage, as all eyes were on her right now.
"What do you call a nose what knows a lot? A big nose at all," joked Skyla.
No one laughed at Skyla's joke, Ms. Mills gently clapped for her and then the rest of the students did too.
"Telling jokes is very difficult, very brave of you to do it anyway," said Ms. Mills. "You can end this class."
Skyla got off the stage and sat down, Raphael sat down on the stage behind the piano.
"Oh, you're going to play something, nice," said Ms. Mills. "Don't you've to take of your headphon…"
But before Ms. Mills could finish that sentence, Raphael began to play, Ms. Mills was speechless and everyone listened craftily. After Raphael finished playing, he received a standing ovation.
"This was incredible," said Ms. Mills. "We've a musical soon and I think it would be perfect for you. The songs are more on the modern side."
"I can't play that kind of music," said Raphael.
"I doubt that, you're very talented," said Ms. Mills.
"I can only play this," said Raphael.
Raphael walked off the stage and sat back down. Skyla looked at Raphael and wondered why he said he could only play classical music, from the song she heard him play yesterday she knew he could. The bell rang and the students got up with their things and left the classroom.
"The auditions for the musical will be soon take place," said Ms. Mills.
A few hours later and it was lunch break, Percy and Milo were in the library together, Percy was studying something, Milo was talking about Anastacia and he still had papier-mâché wrapped around his head.
"Dude, it's just a matter of days, in no time Milo and Anastacia will be on the beach feeding each other in romantic way," said Milo
"Oh yeah?" Asked Percy.
"Yeah, dude, didn't you see how impressed see was with my act, she loved it," said Milo
"I doubt that you can look through that," said Percy.
"But the love between me and Anastacia is so strong, that I can know what she feels," said Milo.
"But you still don't have her fingerprints," said Percy.
"No, but I was really close at getting them," said Milo.
"Really close is the same as far for a detective," said Percy. "Or you've them or you've got nothing."
"I'm sure it will work next time," said Milo.
"Not if you're looking like that," said Percy.
"Next time, I'll be like a shadow," said Milo.
"You're wearing a massive ball of papier-mâché on your head, it's very noticeable," said Percy.
"Oh, I'm still wearing it?" Asked Milo.
"Can you help me get if off," asked Milo.
"Yes," said Percy.
Milo got up and walked over to Percy. Percy held the papier-mache and Milo tried to free himself, he succeeded, but he staggered backwards and fell over a chair. Milo got up and sat down again.
At the same time Skyla and Raphael were at their lockers, Raphael closed his locker and walked away, Anastacia walked up and stood next to Skyla.
"Did you hear about the school musical? They're holding auditions. I think I'm going to tell them to give the lead role straight to me, I'm the best option after all," said Anastacia.
Anastacia walked away, Skyla closed her locker and started walking as well.
Meanwhile in the library, Percy and Milo were hiding behind the bookcase and saw Anastacia come in, she sat down at the table and grabbed her lunch.
"Anastacia has just entered the library, mission Anastacia's fingerprints, third attempt, has started" said Percy.
"I'm on it," said Milo.
"What are you doing?" Asked Percy.
"I'm going to cover myself with ink and I'll jump her and if she touches me we definitely get her fingerprints," said Milo.
"No, no, no," said Percy.
"Dude, it's an amazing idea," said Milo.
"No, we're going to do this the right way,' said Percy. "A detective has a lot of patience, so we're going to sit here and wait."
"Wait?" Asked Milo.
"Yes," said Percy.
Skyla was eating her lunch in the drama room and telling Mouse about her day.
"I'm staying with you Mouse," said Skyla. "What if I see that girl again?"
Skyla thought back at the drama class and how Raphael told Ms. Mills that he couldn't play musical songs.
"Raphael was playing so beautifully. I know that he can play those musical songs, but he says he can't," said Skyla.
Skyla heard someone approaching and quickly hid in the dressing up box, she carefully lifted the lid and saw Raphael enter the room.
"Really dad, yes I'm following my schedule. I'm practicing everyday according to it," said Raphael. "No, dad I don't have any distractions. Yes, I'll dad. Yes, I promise. Bye dad."
Raphael hung up and put his phone in his pocket, he sat down behind the piano. Raphael started with classical but shortly after started playing the song he was playing yesterday. Raphael stopped playing altogether and left. When Raphael was out of the classroom Skyla opened the case all the way and she wondered what was going on with Raphael.
In the meantime in the library. Percy was observing Anastacia, while she was eating her lunch, still trying to come up with something to get her fingerprints.
"Location: School library, third attempt to get Anastacia's fingerprints, target is eating her lunch and is unaware of presence of Milo and me. We'll wait in silence…," said Percy.
Percy's observation was interrupted by the sound of snoring; he turned and saw that Milo had fallen asleep. Percy pinched Milo's nose shut and Milo was startled awake. Anastacia got up and left the library.
"I don't want to go to school!" Yelled Milo.
"Be quiet," said Percy.
"Dude, where are we?" Asked Milo.
"At school," said Percy.
"What?" Asked Milo.
"Anastacia is gone, this probably happened because Milo broke one of the detectives rules, don't fall asleep," said Percy.
"Does it mean we don't have the fingerprints?" Asked Milo.
"More roads will lead you to success," said Percy.
Percy and Milo got up and walked over to where Anastacia had eaten her lunch.
"What are you going to do?" Asked Milo.
"Getting us some fingerprints," said Percy.
"How?" asked Milo.
"By getting something that Anastacia touched," said Percy.
Percy put on gloves and started looking through the trash.
"Dude, that's really gross," said Milo.
"A real detective is not afraid to get a bit dirty," said Percy.
"You do the dirty work and I'll do the spying stuff," said Milo.
"Bingo," said Percy, as he pulled out a cup of yoghurt from the trash
"A cup of yogurt?" Asked Milo
"This my best Milo, this are Anastacia's fingerprints," said Percy.
"No, dude that's a cup of yogurt," said Milo.
Percy grabbed an evidence from his bag and put the cup of yohgurt in it, he put it back in his back and left the libary with Milo.
A few hours later and the school day was over, Skyla and Anastacia walked home and during the whole way home, Anastacia was talking about the musical.
"I doubting if I'm going to use only my first name or both my first and last name on that musical poster, I really can't decide, maybe it's way better if it only says Anastacia," said Anastacia
"Skyla, help me."
"Right? Thingy? Are you listing?" Asked Anastacia
"Yeah," said Skyla.
"I'm talking to you," said Anastacia.
"Sorry," said Skyla.
"Do you know what's a good idea, if we leave the rest of the cast of the poster and only put my name on it," said Anastacia. "Anastacia, the star of the night. Yes, best idea ever."
Skyla decided to forget about the voice and continued walking home with Anastacia again, while she had it for that she will be guaranteed lead role.
A few hours later the residents except for Percy and Milo were sitting at the table, Anastacia had told Arlene all about the upcoming musical. Skyla was quiet and just stared at her food.
"That musical sounds really exciting," said Arlene.
"It' quite exciting, I've the lead and it's very difficult," said Anastacia.
"And are you in as well?" Asked Arlene.
"Skyla."
"Is something the matter?" Asked Arlene
"Skyla."
"Are you okay?" Asked Arlene.
"Skyla!"
"Leave me alone!" Said Skyla.
Who was Skyla telling, Arlene or the girl after all? What will the rest of the residents think? Will Skyla ever find out who the girl is? And will Percy and Milo succeed in their mission and manage to get fingerprints?
