The Detective Test:
"Which one of the Five? Which one will go first?" Asked Arlene.
"You will know when the time is there," said Kent.
"I'll no longer bother you," said Arlene.
Arlene was in Kent's study room, he it just told that soon the first incorporation will take place and Arlene was curious who will be the first.
Arlene left the office, Kent got up and went toward his secret room.
The next morning Percy and Milo were awake early, Milo was playing with his dolls and Percy grabbed his recorder.
"Status update: The investigation is going nowhere, we still have no idea who or what is behind that door," said Percy. "The most likely suspects are Arlene and the shadow. Further investigation is going to be focused on who is hindering this investigation."
"Dude, you're going about this the wrong way," said Milo, as he grabbed Percy's recorder. "Conclusion, we need Witch Girl."
"Skyla?" Asked Percy.
"Yeah, dude, I bet she working with the shadow. If she isn't a witch, I'll it this action figure," said Milo, showing Percy one of his action figure.
"I'm missing something important," said Percy.
"What? A broom?" Asked Milo.
"No, evidence," said Percy.
Milo got out of bed and started to change out his pajamas and into his school uniform, Percy sat on the edge of his bed.
"Okay, you want evidence? Okay, this is my most important mission until now, Milo the Detective will unmask the witch," said Milo.
"It's better if we focus on your investigation of the door," said Percy.
"Dude, Skyla is part of the investigation of the door," said Milo.
"I don't think it's a good idea," said Percy.
"What are you worried about?" Asked Milo. "Dude, I know a lot about witches, I'll work like a shadow, if Witch Girl is unaware and bam!"
In the meantime Skyla was in the living room looking for the book on witchcraft, of course she didn't know yet that Milo had taken it.
"Oh, Mouse, where did I put that book?" Asked Skyla. "Yes, I shouldn't have left if laying around"
Skyla continued searching, in between Raphael entered the living room and grabbed a drink from the refrigerator.
"What if Milo finds it? He'll tell everyone immediately, said Skyla. "You don't think I'm one, right?"
"That you're what?" Asked Raphael.
"That I've lost a book, about witches," said Skyla, as she turned around and hid Mouse behind her back.
"Witches? Why are you reading about that?" Asked Raphael.
"I'm not one of them," said Skyla.
"Okay," said Raphael.
"I can't be one, I mean I don't have a broom," said Skyla.
"Okay, you're not a witch," said Raphael.
"Yes, Presentation, I'm doing a presentation about witches," said Skyla, as that was the best she could come up with.
"Fun," said Raphael.
"Yes, so I'm going to go pack my bag for school now, yes," said Skyla.
Skyla felt her cheeks get warm and headed toward her room, Raphael couldn't help but smile.
A few minutes later, Milo was hiding behind a plant and walked with the plant toward the bathroom. The door to the bathroom opened and Milo quickly put the plant down, Anastacia came out of the bathroom and saw the plant, she walked over and saw Milo standing behind the plant with his eyes closed.
"What are you doing?" Asked Anastacia.
"I'm a plant," said Milo.
"Milo," said Anastacia.
"Hey, hey, Anastacia, hey yes, the plant," said Milo, as he got out from behind the plant.
"You're standing here to catch a glimpse of me," said Anastacia. "I understand. It's fine, you barley eat, right?"
"No, eating is not an issue for me, never has been," said Milo.
"And you don't sleep? I know it by now, I'm used to it by now, all boys experience when they are in love with me," said Anastacia. "I'm sorry but I've to continue, it's time for my vitamin shot."
"Yes," said Milo.
Anastacia went into her room and Milo went behind the plant again and waited for Skyla to go to the bathroom.
In the meantime, Arlene walked into Kent's study, but he wasn't there, so she knew he was most likely in they secret room. Arlene was just about to leave the office when the phone rang, Arlene walked over to the phone and answered it.
"Anubis house, you're speaking with Arlene," said Arlene.
"You're speaking with Haas," said Mr. Haas.
"Hello Mr. Haas, how are you?" Asked Arlene.
"It's not important, my question is, how is my son"? Asked Mr. Haas.
"Raphael is doing…," said Arlene, but she was interrupted by Mr. Haas.
"I hope you remember that I only agree to your offer if Raphael's career is going as planned," said Mr. Haas.
"Don't worry, the environment in the house is great and I watch him et see if he studies as he should," said Arlene.
"That's good news, I'm glad you understand what is at risk," said Mr. Haas.
"That's why we're here, Mr. Haas," said Arlene.
Arlene hung up the phone and left the office again.
At the same time, Milo, saw Skyla go into the bathroom, he came out from behind the plant and snuck into the bathroom and took out two hand mirrors. Skyla had no idea she was being watched by Milo and stood in front of the mirror talking to herself.
"Raphael will probably think I'm a witch now too. Maybe I should use Anastacia's sunglasses, so I won't see weird things anymore," said Skyla.
Milo opened the bathroom door and ran up to Skyla with the two mirrors and held them beside her.
"I've got you now Witch Girl! Look, no mirror image! I means that you're a witch!" Said Milo.
"I've a mirror image," said Skyla.
"What? But witches don't have a mirror image," said Milo.
"That counts for vampires," said Skyla.
"What?" Asked Milo.
"Vampires, they don't have a mirror image," said Skyla, as she turned around to Milo. "Your mirror image shows your soul and vampires don't have one."
"Oh," said Milo.
Milo grabbed Mouse from the sink and held him in front of the mirror.
"He isn't a vampire either,' said Milo.
"No," said Skyla.
Skyla grabbed Mouse from Milo and left the bathroom again.
"Just wait, Witch Girl, I'll figure it out myself, I'll be back!" Said Milo.
In the meantime, Kent was in his secret room above the study and stood by the board and looked at the pictures of the Five.
"You, or you, or maybe you, it won't be long before we know which one of you is going to be the first," said Kent.
Kent turned and walked toward the crystal dome and looked at his brother.
"The calculations are nearly complete, the answer is written in the stars, soon you'll have your first sense back brother," said Kent.
In the meantime Milo and Percy sat in their room, Milo was pondering why his plan to expose Skyla as a witch had failed.
"Dude, I don't understand, my plan was great and the execution was perfect," said Milo.
"Enjoy your meal, don't forget to put sambal on it," said Percy.
Percy picked up Milo's action figure a threw it at Milo.
"You were rushing," said Percy.
"Rushing? Me?" Asked Milo.
"Yes, rule 77: A detective is nothing without research," said Percy, as he opened up his Detective Handbook.
"Research?" Asked Milo.
"Preparation is everything, a good execution is a logical next step," said Percy.
"What?" Asked Milo.
"I think I'm going to investigate the door differently," said Percy.
"You mean we?" Asked Milo.
"It depends," said Percy.
"On?" Asked Milo.
"If you're ready for your most important mission yet," said Percy.
"Dude, I live for this," said Milo.
"Staying on your spot all night, no sleeping, possible unmasking of the shadow," said Percy.
"Dude, if I've too, I'll stay awake for days," said Milo.
"I don't know," said Percy.
Milo got up from the chair, got down on his knees in front of Percy and grabbed him by his knee and looked at him with pleading eyes, of course Percy didn't like this at all.
"Come on, dude. Please? Please? Please? Pretty please? Please take me with you, Percy, take me with you?" Begged Milo.
"Okay, okay, but let go off me first," said Percy.
Milo let go of Percy and stood up.
"But you've to one test beforehand, said Percy.
"Tell me, said Milo.
"I'll tell you at school, said Percy.
"Sir, yes sir, said Milo.
"Don't forget the most important rule, rule number 4: Don't tell anyone, said Percy.
"Understood, said Milo.
Percy put his books in his bag and was about to leave for school, while Milo walked over to his bed and pulled out his "Milo" and "Anastacia" doll.
"Hey, Anastacia, I'm going on an important mission."
"Oh Milo, be careful."
"Of course, and if I never return, all my sambal sauce for you."
"Oh Milo."
Milo let the dolls kiss each other and made kissing sounds, he heard Percy clear his throat and turned to face him. Milo put his dolls away, grabbed his bag and left the room with Percy.
"But, dude, if that rule is the most important one, why isn't it rule number 1?" Asked Milo.
"Rule number 1 is important but also the most secret one," said Percy.
"What is it?" asked Milo.
"You'll get to know that once you past the detective test," said Percy.
And while the rest of the residents were on their way to school, Skyla sat on the window sill in her room with Mouse in her hands.
"What if I'm a witch? How will I ever have friends?" Asked Skyla. "Who cares? They'll bully me anyway, just like always they always do."
Skyla looked at Mouse with tears in her eyes, a few of her tears fell on Mouse, she wiped away her tears and pressed Mouse tightly against her.
"Mouse, I want to leave," said Skyla.
Skyla stood up put Mouse in her bag. She got down on her knees and grabbed her bags from under her bed, she grabbed her clothes from the closet and started packing her bags.
In the meantime, Anastacia ran towards school, Milo ran after her and tried to keep up with her.
"Hey, Ana," said Milo.
"My name is Anastacia Emmerson-Walsh," said Anastacia. "Listen I know that you want to ask me, but the answer is no, I understand truly, but the answer is and will always be no, I'm sorry."
Anastacia handed her suitcase to Milo and continued, Milo grabbed her suitcase went running ahead of her and stopped her. Percy had followed Milo and spied on him and Anastacia from the bushes.
"No, you don't understand, I want to give you something," said Milo.
"Give me? A gift?" Asked Anastacia.
"A token, to remember me," said Milo.
"Oh, are you leaving?" Asked Anastacia.
"Possible, I'm going on a dangerous mission," said Milo.
"A mission?" Asked Anastacia.
"Yes, I can't tell much actually, it's stop secret," said Milo,
Milo grabbed a small box from his back handed it to Anastacia.
"Well," said Anastacia.
"Open it," said Milo.
she opened it and saw that it contained the necklace she had given to Skyla.
"How did you get this? Did Thingy give it to you? I should've bought her something with more diamonds," said Anastacia.
"But Ana," said Milo.
Anastacia pushed the box into Milo's hands, grabbed her suitcase, drove the suitcase over Milo's foot and ran on to school. Milo grabbed his foot and jumped up and down, Percy came out from behind the bushes and walked toward Milo. When Milo's foot stopped hurting, he put his foot down and turned around and saw Percy standing there, not looking happy.
"Mission, top secret, you failed your test," said Percy, as he walked away.
"Percy! Percy! Yelled Milo.
In the meantime in the house, Skyla had packed her bags, she wanted to leave Anubis house, she put her bags down to call her to her mother to ask her to come get her, then all of a sudden...
"Skyla."
Skyla turned and saw the girl standing there again.
"You can't leave, I need you," said the girl.
"Go away! I don't want to see you! You don't exist!" Shouted Skyla.
"Help me Skyla, without you everything is lost," said the girl.
Will Skyla help the girl? And what did the girl mean that all will be lost if Skyla left? Will Skyla now stay in Anubis house or will she leave anyway? Will Milo get another chance to take the detective test? And which of the Five is in danger as the first incorporation ritual is about to take place?
