Ch.70
Tonight was prom night and Ron was on the fence about the whole thing. On one hand he really wanted to take Yori and on the other he knew that Monique, Tara and Bonnie were going without a date because of him.
Then there was the still missing Shego.
As the bell rang signaling the end of the day a couple of football players surrounded Ron.
"Come with us loser." One of them ordered.
Ron knew what it was about since Brick Flagg made it clear he was going to get him back for stealing his girlfriend, Bonnie, a while back. Though at the time it wasn't true he did inadvertently did it, so Ron was planning to roll with whatever Brick had in mind for him. The football players led Ron to the field where Brick waited with more of the team.
"Hey Brick, you don't suppose I'm here because you want to listen to my apology." Ron ventured.
"I heard your apology before Stoppable, didn't change a thing. Today we'll teach you a lesson and we'll go our separate ways." Brick explained.
And it was true, Ron had apologized multiple times for what happened with Bonnie but the quarterback wouldn't hear it. What really surprised Ron was that he waited till prom, that wasn't something he'd do.
"So why today?" Ron asked.
"Simple, to ruin Bonnie's prom night while teaching you a lesson." Brick admitted.
"Was it your idea?" Ron asked again.
"Nah, this one is from a friend. Two birds with one stone and all that." Brick said.
"Can I have his name?" Ron tried.
"Now what kind of friend would that make me?" Brick asked.
"Fair point." Ron agreed.
"Enough talking, square up Stoppable." Brick said and rushed in.

Ron didn't bother putting up his guard and took Brick's punches straight to the face and abdomen. Brick was surprised by this and pulled back to look at Ron. Ron simply stood there rubbing his cheek. This seemingly nonchalant way of handling the situation pissed off Brick to no end and he threw caution to the wind. 'If this is how you want it Stoppable, I'll beat on you till I'm tired.' He thought.
Ron didn't throw a single punch nor did he make a move to evade, he simply took the anger and frustration Brick wanted to beat into him. Brick had great stamina and relentlessly beat Ron for fifteen minutes, the whole time the football players silently watched in a circle around them. When Brick stopped to catch his breath the others moved in and started kicking at Ron who was on the floor.
"Wh-what are you guys doing? This is between him and me." Brick said realizing that things started to get out of hand.
"You had your fun Brick, now is our turn." One of them said.
"We're getting a hundred bucks a piece to teach him a lesson he'll never forget." Explained another.
"Knock it off guys, he's down." Brick tried to convince them but they pushed him out of the circle.
"Stay out of the way Brick, we know what we are doing." One of the players assured him.
Brick stood still for a minute or two as they kicked at Ron, hearing the thuds and grunts from what was happening before there was a loud crack. When he heard it Brick started pushing people aside yelling. "That's enough guys, you already broke something. He needs to see a doctor."
"Not yet Brick, we still have the other leg, then it's done." A player said and stomped on Ron's left leg till a crack was heard again. "Now let's go guys, that was a job well done."
Brick was stunned as he looked at the unconscious Ron. This was taking things too far, he only meant to rough him a bit so he would miss prom not hospitalize him. 'I need to talk to Josh, this was too much.' Thought Brick as he walked away.

Ron woke up an hour later and in a great deal of pain. Clenching his teeth Ron focused his awareness on the injuries he sustained and took note of what he found. Both legs are broken, multiple cracked ribs with two breaks, abused organs, a bit of internal bleeding and bruises. It was much worse than he expected Brick to do to him and Ron promised himself not to do that again.
Sighing, Ron started using the healing technique which he turned out to have a talent in and put himself back together. It took Ron two hours to fix the damage Brick and the football players did. Now he was starving and in a bad mood since his muscles were still sore as he ran out of energy. Standing up, Ron headed to Bueno Nacho to get something to eat before heading home to get ready for prom.
To Ron, Bueno Nacho was a safe haven from the problems of the world. In there he could always eat a meal and recharge, so it was understandable when he freaked out over Bueno Nacho changing. As he made it to the eatery Ron was glad that there were no kids around, it would be like the old days.
Ron walked to the counter feeling better already and saw Ned manning the cashier. Ron greeted him before placing his order and noticed Ned acting weird but figured it was because of the demotion as the new manager walked by.
As Ron sits to eat he decides to bring Rufus something since the little guy was staying home all day today. Grabbing the straw for the drink Ron noticed some writing on his tray. EVIL. 'Definitely something's up'. Ron thinks before he notices the straw is a different kind from usual. Upset Ron gets up and walks up to the counter.
"This is the last straw." Ron yells.
The manager, Lars, hear him and walks up explaining with a handful of straws. "No sir, we have more."
"No! You got rid of the bendy straw." Ron yells and Ned facepalm as Lars looks on stupefied before he speaks.
"You're upset about a bendy straw." Lars says and starts laughing.
"I'm going to talk to your boss!" Ron declares.
Ron pays him no attention and pulls out his phone. When he does he notices it's broken and looks to the payphone outside. Leaving the store, Ron goes to the payphone and calls Wade.
"Hey Ron, no news yet." Wade says by way of greeting expecting Ron to ask about Shego.
"Wade I need the number to Bueno Nacho." Ron says.
"I can get you their one eight hundred number." Wade offers.
"Wade I need to talk straight to the top." Ron counters.
"Ron I don't know if I can, that number is extremely secure." Wade begins and after a couple more seconds of typing says. "Done, transferring you now."
"Thanks Wade." Ron says and listens to the phone ring.
"Hola Bueno Nacho, el presidente speaking?" Drakken's undeniable voice is heard.
"Drakken?" Ron asks trying to understand what's going on.
Then the phone is snatched from Ron's hand by Lars and hung up. "Mr. Drakken is a very busy man, Stoppable."
Ron then notices Ned holding up the tray to the restaurant window and sees the EVIL written there again. As he is realizing the full extent of what's going on, Ned seems to panic and run out the store shortly after followed by a troop of Little Diablos.
As Ron is trying to figure out Drakken's plan he also realizes that he got his first clue on Shego in weeks. 'I have to talk to Yori.' Ron decides when his thoughts are interrupted by Lars command. "Little Diablos attack."
Ron was dazed for a moment when he heard the command. 'So there is something to the robotic little toys.' Ron concluded and started shaking them off of himself. Seeing as he was surrounded, Ron jumped onto the payphone before jumping over the toys. Thinking quickly, Ron went out of sight from Lars and the toys and entered stealth mode, disappearing. From there Ron didn't waste time, after making sure the toys couldn't track him he made a beeline for home to let Yori know his findings and have Wade check the Little Diablos to tell him what they are made of.

Yori stood in the bathroom looking at her reflection in the mirror. She was wearing a red and black gradient lace dress. As she looked in the mirror Yori wondered what Ron would think when he saw her.
Just as she was getting nervous at the whole situation she heard the door open and close roughly.
"Yori!" Ron called out as he searched downstairs.
"Upstairs Ron-san." Yori called out.
Hearing noise on the stairs and Ron call out. "I found a clue to finding Shego!"
Yori smiled and opened the bathroom door. "Where is she?"
When Ron looked at Yori in her prom dress he lost his train of thought and simply admired her for a while. Finally Ron praised. "Beautiful."
Yori blushed but still kept to the topic of Shego. "So where is Shego?"
"Right!" Ron says and explains. "So I stopped at Bueno Nacho to get something to eat and found out that Drakken is currently using it in his latest plan to take over the world when I had Wade connect me to the top of the corporation. Everything is tied to the Little Diablo toys. They are some kind of robots."
"In other words, by asking Wade where the call connected we'll know where Drakken is and he might know where Shego-san is." Yori repeated.
"Exactly!" Ron said before adding. "And we can ask Wade to figure out what the deal is with those toys."
"So why haven't you called Wade-san?" Yori asked.
Ron pulls out his phone showing Yori the destroyed device. "And I wanted to tell you what I found."
Yori didn't have her phone on hand either so she walked to Ron's room to get it. "Here, call Wade-san."
Ron didn't waste a moment to make the call. When Wade picked up he asked in a hurry. "Wade, where did Drakken pick up the call?"
"Ron I'm glad you're okay, after the line went dead I thought something might have happened." Wade said relieved.
"Sorry about that Wade, didn't want to worry you but as you might have noticed Bueno Nacho is currently under Drakken's control for his plan to take over the world. The Little Diablo is some form of robot and I need to know where to find Drakken." Ron explained.
"Drakken is at Bueno Nacho headquarters which is around one hundred miles west of Middleton." Wade said and added. "As for the Little Diablo, the scans reveal it's a high tech robot just tiny. I wish I knew more but for that we'd need an expert."
Sighing Ron spoke. "I know one, Wade get in touch with James Timothy Possible."
"One sec." Wade says and starts tracking down Dr. Possible. In two minutes Wade had gotten Dr. Possible on the line and explained everything his response shocked everyone.
"He stole my technology, that's the Hephaestus project I've been developing for years. It's a metal with self repair, adaptive and growth capability." Dr. Possible explained.
"So Drakken has spread an army worldwide using Bueno Nacho." Ron said.
"Don't worry, it won't do much without a command signal." Added Dr. Possible.
Just as everyone wanted to cut him off to prevent Dr. Possible from jinxing them, Wade screamed. "It's coming online, hel..."
The line cut off and Ron began trying to figure out what to do when he heard a crash from outside. Looking out the window revealed several Diablo toys had turned into gigantic robots with cutting edge weaponry.
Yori clearly saw Ron struggle to make a decision to get involved or not and she knew why. Ron had promised to take her to prom and he didn't want to break the promise even as things turned chaotic around them. Sighing Yori made the decision for him and ripped her dress off as quickly as she could. Ron turned horrified at the sound.
"Ron-san get ready for combat, people need your help." Yori directed.
"You're incredible, you know that, Yori." Ron said and started dressing in the mission clothes that Shego got him with a few weapons donned.
By the time Ron finished dressing Yori was already dressed in her ninja garb.
