Kissing Toads:
Percy was still in his room, his fingers were still burning after that he had made an attempt to open the special section of the druid book, smoke was still coming from the pages of the book. Percy put his hand in his fishbowl to let it cool down. Percy removed his hand from the water, grabbed his recorder and turned it on.
"Location: I just, I…," said Percy, as he was struggling to find the find the right words no idea how to describe what happened to him. "It looks like I burned my fingers by touching the book. It's still unclear how this could have happened, I need to investigate this further."
Percy looked at the burns on his fingers, Milo walked into the room. Milo looked at Percy and Percy quickly put his hand behind his back.
"You too? Are you one of them already?" Asked Milo.
"It's not what it looks like," said Percy.
"I..," said Milo, as he started to walk away.
"Don't be a wimp, come you have to read this," said Percy, as he grabbed Milo's arm.
"Read? There is no time to read! It's time to save Joseph and the others! It's time to make sure you don't turn into a witch! And it's time to stop witch girl! It's time for Milo!" Said Milo.
Percy wanted to say something more, but before he could do so Milo walked out of the room and unbeknownst to him he lost Skyla's glove. Percy turned around and saw the glove on the floor and picked it up.
In the meantime, Skyla was in her room and looking at her hand, she pulled her sleeve over her hand. There was a knock at the door and Skyla turned toward the door.
"Yes," said Skyla.
The door opened and Percy stood with the book in the doorway.
"Can I talk to you?" Asked Percy.
"No, I'm busy," said Skyla.
"It won't take long," said Percy.
Skyla sat down at her desk. Percy walked into the room and put the book down on Skyla's desk and she didn't look very happy when she saw the book.
"I don't want to talk about it," said Skyla.
"But you don't even know what I want to talk about," said Percy.
"I do," said Skyla.
"About what then?" Asked Percy.
"That I'm a witch," said Skyla.
"No, no, that is not why I'm here," said Percy, as he opened to book on the page of the druid mark. "The way you saw it, it isn't a witch symbol, but a druid mark, it means passage or portal."
Skyla looked at the book for a few seconds, then she looked at the door and saw a glimpse of Milo in the door opening and then looked at Percy again.
"I've a lot of homework," said Skyla.
"But this is proof," said Percy.
Skyla didn't listen to what Percy said and walked toward her bookshelf and Percy grabbed the book off the desk.
"I only want to help you," said Percy.
Percy took Skyla's glove from his pocket and put it down on her desk and then left her room. Skyla turned around and saw her glove on her desk, she walked over and put her glove back on. Skyla was so happy to have her glove back that she didn't realize Milo snuck into the room and grabbed Mouse off her bed.
A few moments later, Skyla had gone to the bathroom and wondered why Percy had given her glove back.
"Why did Percy give me my glove back? Did he want to help me? But why? What do you think Mouse?" Asked Skyla, but as she turned around she saw that Mouse wasn't there. "Mouse?
Skyla looked around and didn't see Mouse anywhere. Skyla went to her room and looked on her bed but Mouse wasn't there either, Skyla started turning the whole room upside down looking for Mouse, she had no idea yet that Milo was the one who had stolen Mouse from her. Anastacia entered the room with Lexie and was shocked to see the mess Skyla had made.
"Thingy, what are you doing?" Asked Anastacia.
"Skyla, right? Hi, I'm Lexie," said Lexie.
"Yes," said Skyla, as she walked over to her desk.
"Rule 86," said Anastacia.
"I know what one, I've got it somewhere in here," said Lexie, as she pulled out the rules of Anastacia from her pocket.
"Yes," said Anastacia.
"Yes, it says here, rule 68, Don't mess up the room, reorganize or redecorate or make the room explode without my permission," said Lexie.
"Right," said Anastacia.
"Sorry, I've lost something," said Skyla.
"What?" Asked Anastacia.
"Nothing," said Skyla.
Skyla quickly left the room; unbeknownst to Anastacia, Lexie sat down on her bed.
"You see, roommates are quite difficult," said Anastacia.
"I don't think it's that bad, it's seems cozy to me, talking all night, gossip about boys," said Lexie. "This is quite comfortable, by the way, is the your bed?"
Anastacia turned around and was not pleased to see Lexie sitting on her bed.
In the meantime, Skyla was in the bathroom walking back and forth, suddenly an envelope was slid under the door. Skyla picked up the envelope and on it was written for: Witch Girl. Skyla opened the envelope and took out the letter.
"I've your witch cat, if you want it back, walk to school and wait for further instructions. Don't talk to anyone and come alone. Not so sincerely, the Toad savior," said Skyla. "Mouse."
Back in Skyla and Anastacia's room. Anastacia was not happy with Lexie's presence and especially that she was sitting on her bed.
"Don't you have to leave? You only wanted to see the house? This was it. this was the house, now leave," said Anastacia.
"I can stay as long as I wanted to," said Lexie.
"But supper will be ready soon, so…," said Anastacia.
"Can I stay for supper?" Asked Lexie.
"No, sorry, I'm sorry, the staff here is very strict," said Anastacia.
"Oh," said Lexie.
"But I could try my hardest to convince them," said Anastacia.
"You would do that for me? It seems so cozy and delicious, I've always loved going out for dinner and now I can have supper with you," said Lexie.
Hearing this gave Lexie and smile on her face, she got up and walked over to Anastacia and gave her a hug.
"Oh yes," said Anastacia.
"I'm so happy," said Lexie as she let go off Anastacia.
"I want something in return, I don't do this for no reason, you can start with dusting of my eye products," said Anastacia.
"Okay, sure," said Lexie.
"And be careful, they are very important," said Anastacia.
Anastacia handed Lexie a cloth and she began dusting off Anastacia's eye products while Anastacia lay down on her bed, she grabbed a hand mirror and began admiring herself.
In the meantime in the boys' room. Percy was still trying to open the special part of the book, he used his grasping claw, but even it couldn't open it and it even got so hot, the claw caught fire. Percy put the claw in a tub of water and let it cool. Percy looked at his fingers and grabbed his recorder.
"All the tries to open the pages have failed, difficulty scale from 1 to 10, a 9. Note to self: Try less at the same time, end note to self, that's all," said Percy.
Percy turned off his recorder and put it on his desk. Percy put his hand in the tub of water and then he noticed the crumpled up papers on the floor. Percy knelt and picked up one of the papers, he opened the piece of paper and immediately recognized Milo's handwriting. They were earlier instruction letters he had written for Skyla, only there were mistakes in them.
"Milo," said Percy, he grabbed his recorder of the desk and turned it on. "Mission: Save Skyla has begun."
In the meantime, Anastacia, gave Lexie a tour of the house, Lexie averted her eyes when she saw the living room.
"So, this is a beautiful house, wow," said Lexie.
"Well, exaggerating is a talent," said Anastacia.
"How many people live here?" Asked Lexie.
"I don't know, way too many," said Anastacia.
"I've never seen such a beautiful house in my life, and there is so much space," said Lexie.
"Space? You're joking right?" Asked Anastacia.
"I'm serious," said Lexie.
"So, you're, okay," said Anastacia.
Lexie kept looking around, Arlene entered the living room, with a basket in her hands, when she saw Anastacia and Lexie, she hid the basket under a blanket.
"Who is your friend?" Asked Arlene.
"Friend?" Asked Anastacia.
"Yes," said Arlene.
"Yeah, this is," said Anastacia.
"Hi, I'm Lexie," said Lexie as she walked over to Arlene and shook her hand.
"Hi, so, you're here hanging with Anastacia after school?" Asked Arlene.
"She is staying for supper," said Anastacia.
"You've a beautiful house, I just told Anastacia, I've never seen such a beautiful house in my life. I haven't seen that many houses in my life, but this is the most beautiful one," said Lexie.
"Wait a moment, you're staying for supper?" Asked Arlene.
"Yes, I said so, right?" Said Anastacia.
"What do we eat?" Asked Lexie.
Anastacia and Lexie sat down at the table, Arlene didn't say a word, but she wasn't all to happy that Lexie stayed over, but deciced to let her stay for dinner.
A few moments later. Skyla was walking through the woods and was on her way to the school, on the path she saw an envelope with Witch Girl written on it again, she picked up the envelope and took out the letter. Milo was hiding in the bush next to her, watching her.
"Say the first part of the spell to end the toad curse," said Skyla. "I don't know a spell."
"Say it or you will only receive the head of your cat," said Milo.
"Umh, Abracadabra alakazam," said Skyla.
"Was that if? Yes or no?" asked Milo.
"Yes, yes, that was it," said Skyla.
"Continue reading," said Milo.
"Go to school, in your locker you find the second and final to end part of the curse," said Skyla, as she continue to read the note.
"Go!" Said Milo.
"Yes, you won't harm Mouse, right?" Asked Skyla.
"I will if you won't go now", said Milo.
Skyla put the envelope in her bag and continued walking toward the school. Milo came out of the bushes and watched Skyla walk to school.
"Did you see that witch cat of witch girl? She is going to do it. Soon Joseph and all the other will be saved. And thanks to who? Thanks to Milo, the best detective ever," said Milo. "I wish Percy could see me!"
Milo put Mouse in his bag and then also walked toward the school. Milo had no idea that Percy was hiding in the woods and had seen and heard everything.
"Milo is blackmailing Skyla and is on his way to school now, that's all," said Percy.
A few moments later Skyla arrived at the school, she walked towards the lockers and saw that her locker was open, at the same time she was being watched by Milo. Percy had also arrived at the school and was watching Milo and also Skyla. Skyla walked over to her locker and the picture of the toad Joseph was in, she took the picture out and read what Milo had written on the back.
"Kissing toads? Gross," said Skyla.
Skyla wanted to walk toward Mr. Danbury's office, but at that exact moment he came out of his office. Skyla heard Mr. Danbury approaching and quickly went to hide in Anastacia's locker. Percy and Milo also managed to get away quickly. Skyla heard the footsteps coming past Anastacia's locker, as soon as she heard the foe steps away from the locker, she carefully did up the locker and got out. Skyla walked toward Mr. Danbury's office and went inside. Milo also walked toward the headmaster's office; he stood by the wall and watched the door. Skyla walked toward the terrarium and removed the cloth, with a horrified look she looked at the toads. Skyla grabbed one of the toads from the terrarium and looked at the toad, she really didn't want to kiss the toad, but it was the only way she could get Mouse back from Milo. Skyla was about to kiss the toad, when suddenly someone put a hand over her mouth.
Who stopped Skyla from kissing the toad? Is this a friend or an enemy? What will Milo do to Mouse? And how will things go with Lexie coming to eat with the residents? And what about the druid book? What secrets are lying in the pages?
