Kathleen is honestly my favorite Stabler. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

I promise not to take long to update. It's been quick but might now always been. I appreciate the support and all of you who left comments and subscribed ❤️

SVU is not mine, I own nothing but my crazy thoughts.

Knock knock

"Excuse me, Captain" said a familiar voice, teasing gleefully.

Olivia was finishing her report and making mind notes about things she had to do. She looked up, taking her glasses off. "Katie! What are you doing here, sweetheart?"

"I had some things to do near by, I thought I might as well stop by and see if you were free to get some lunch, as you are a very important captain now, congrats on this very sweet office, by the way, really nice" she said looking around.

"In fact, I do have time for lunch. We don't have any open cases right now" she said looking around her table. "Would you give me 5 minutes?"

"Sure can, I'll just seat right over here" she moved to the chair near the window where she could look to the bullpen "And admire de view" she completed with mischief.

Olivia looked through the window to see what had caught the younger woman's eyes.

"Katie!" She said exasperated.

"What? What's the point of having that hunk of a man right outside you window if you can't even appreciate the view? It's right there!" Kathleen defended herself.

"You do know I'm dating you father, right?"

"Right. There." She pointed theatrically not bothering to dignify Olivia's statement, just continued looking over the window at Joe Velasco who had no idea about the pair of blue eyes staring at him.

"How did you even get all the way up here?" She asked think no one had said the girl was coming up.

"I think the uni downstairs is new, I just said I was you daughter, he said I had the same eyes as my brother and let me come up" she said beaming at her.

Olivia jut shook her head and continued finishing her last report, making a mental note to talk to the new unis of the precinct.

After ordering two salads from the too trendy and way too expensive menu, clearly chosen by Kathleen, both woman fell into an easy conversation.

"I love this hairstyle" Katie said after a while.

"Thanks, in kinda loving it too"

"I don't think I met anyone who had as many hairstyles as you. That pixie cut, no everyone could put that off" she said.

"No really a conscious decision" Olivia said wincing at the memory "it was supposed to be trimmed, but after 3 wine glasses, my hairstylist thought pixie was the look for me. Don't tell anyone, but I got home and cried over it for about an hour" she said smiling.

"Oh my god, that's hilarious" Katie was full belly laughing now.

"Yeah, yeah. You laugh until it happens to you." Olivia pouted.

"It was on your shoulders when dad left" she said in a more somber voice.

"Yeah, I guess it was" she tried to remember the last time she had seen the blonde girl.

"But the last time I saw you it was longer, a little past your shoulders. And darker too" she continued.

"Yeah, I had it longer for a while then I cut it myself." She paused startled, looking up at Kathleen "Wait,- you mean.."

"Yeah, on TV. Sorry, shouldn't have brought it up" the girl said sadly.

Recognition went to Olivia's face. "Maureen talked to you"

"She did. Thank's for helping her with the pregnancy thing by the way. Absolutely my father's daughter that one." She paused "You don't have to say anything. She gave me a wide view, just so I'm ware of your triggers now that we are spending so much time together." She explained "We didn't say anything to the twins, it's your story to share, but now we can run interference, just in case." She shrugged her shoulders unsure of herself.

"Oh honey, it's absolutely not you job to do that. Thank you for worrying. I worked a lot of my triggers in therapy, most of the time they don't even send me into a flashback, I just feel slightly overwhelmed, but I can control it pretty nicely by now" she explained.

"So… we didn't need to come to a vegan place?" Kathleen winced.

It was only then Olivia realizes the girl had barely touched her salad. Understanding came to her.

The smell of bacon sends me into a full panic attack. You would never imagine how much fried bacon smells like burned flesh. She said that to Maureen.

"Oh" tear sprung in to her eyes at the consideration Katie had taken to choose where to eat. No one had bothered before. "Oh Honey, no we didn't. I should had explained it better to Mo, but honestly I was too raw that day, the conversation came up out of nowhere, I didn't have any time to prepare. Bacon can send me into a panic attack, but normally when I'm really bottled up, frustrated or when a case hits too close to home. I can normally control it in everyday life. Took me a while, but I can"

"I see" Katie said, slightly embarrassed.

Olivia was quick to reassure her "Thank you, Katie. For doing this. Really, it's so thoughtful of you" it made her emotional.

"I just wanted to say I'm sorry for what my mom did."

"No, Katie. It's not your responsibility to apologize to me. Seriously, there is no need." Olivia insisted. "You mom sure had her reasons and we can't do anything about it, so let's just let it go." They stayed in silence for a few minutes. Only the sound people talking and of the forks and knives hitting the plates on the tables around them.

"I went to see you, you know?" Kathleen spoke so quietly Olivia almost didn't hear her, perhaps that was her intention.

"What?"

"First at the hospital, after I saw how you looked when they were leading you out of that beach house. I know mom said we shouldn't but I couldn't. I just couldn't, Livie." She was so emotional she retreated to the nickname she used for Olivia when she was a kid. "I saw on the news, I saw you looking around, and I just knew you were looking for dad, you looked so out of it but you still looked around for him and it broke my heart" Her voice was breaking with emotion "They wouldn't let me in, there were so many cops there. No one I knew. No one who knew me." After so many years being a cop's kid, she hoped she would see some familiar faces.

"I'm sorry they didn't let you in, it was probably a precaution. I can honestly say I don't remember a lot from that time, guess I was in shock." Olivia said sadly.

Kathleen cleaned her tears "You don't have to be sorry. Really, I just wanted you to know that I tried. That I cared. I even went to your apartment a few days later, but you had moved"

"I couldn't really be there anymore"

"I can't even imagine" Katie looked to the woman across the table from her. The woman who had fought for her when she needed help. The woman who had brought her and her siblings to the precinct to her dads birthday. The woman who helped her mother deliver her baby brother even though she was hurt too. "I was in law school when it happened. It changed me, even if I was seeing you from afar, in newspaper and Tv, you went through something imaginable, and you chose to keep fighting for victim and survivors. I decided I needed to make a difference, I'm a social worker at the women shelter, I help mostly survivors from domestic abuse, I always hoped we would bump into each other"

Olivia's eyes shined with pride "I'm so proud of you, Katie. And honored to have made such impact in your life"

"Are you kidding? Liv, you are like my role model. When I was a kid I always thought you were a superhero" she smiled then think back at the teen Katie, before her diagnosis. "I loved my mom, so much. She was great. But I don't think she really understood me. And that's ok. You saw me, you knew what I needed, thank you so much" the tears streaming down Katie's face made Olivia's heart ache. "And you are so pretty" the both let a loud laugh out at the statement.

"Only you, Katie"

"I mean really, I don't know what you are doing with my dad, with looks like that you could do so much better"

"Katie!" Olivia said exasperated, honestly this girl.

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding. I know you love each other. And I'm so happy for you guys." She smiled kindly "But just so you know, if you ever break up, we take you in the divorce"

"Divorce? I think you're getting ahead of yourself. We barely together 4 months. No wedding bells over here."

"Come on, Livie. You've been together for 24 years, even in you weren't. I keep my point. You guys were always meant to be"

"Katie…"

"Now, tell me about your little boy" she didn't let Olivia continue "Or as your uni said, my lil bro"

"He's my little miracle, he saved me. He really did"

"Mo told me he is adopted, I didn't know. Dad never told us, but I guess he wouldn't" she said "Do you find it funny? That he looks so much like the both of you?" Se curiosity asked.

"I used to" It was a sore subject for Olivia "I thought about it every time he looked at me with those big blue eyes. I guess I just always thought when I had a kid, you guys would be there to see him grow" she admits.

"I used to wonder why you weren't a mother, you were born to be a mother and you waited so much." Liv took a deep breath.

"Katie, I dreamed about being a mom, however, you have to understand I didn't have the greatest childhood, I didn't have Christmas, cakes, birthdays or gifts. All I had was myself and I wanted to be the best mom I possibly could, and when I looked into adoption they didn't see me fit for it. It messed my confidence up"

"What? They are wrong!" She exclaimed.

"Funny, your dad said the exact same thing. With Noah, after I found him, I couldn't even let myself dream of becoming his mother" admitting it was hard "I followed his case and the unit kept looking for his mother. Which we eventually found. Ellie loved Noah, she wanted to be better for him, but when she agreed to testify against her pimp, she was murdered. When Noah was officially declared an orphan I was at the audience, the judge noticed my interest in his case and asked if I would be willing to foster him and possibly adopt him a year later. She called it a judge's hunch. I didn't even thought about it. I took him home the same night. It's been the two of us ever since, Team Benson" she finished.

Kathleen cleared her throat and said "Well, damn. It's team Benson-Stabler now, as it should have always been." Olivia beamed at her. "My dad loves you, Liv. And he loves Noah, just the same as he loves us and we kids love you too"

"I hope you guys are ok with it" Liv checked again "About our relationship and about Noah"

"Are you kidding? He's one of us already! He's even on our group chat! And about your relationship, we are all okay with it although it was a little hard for Dickie"

"Why?" Olivia asked "Still about Shane?" She took a sip of her orange juice.

"Oh no, it's because he had the longest crush on you" Olivia almost choked on her drink.

"What are you talking about?"

"Oh Liv, you're a MILF-

"Shut up"

"I mean really, imagine it: he finally is legal now and it was hard for him to know his dad is banging his biggest crush"

"Jesus, change the subject. Right now" Olivia was mortified.

"Alright, Alright…" Katie said finding the conversation incredibly funny.

"I seriously don't know what to do with you" she was exasperated. Shaking her head she barely had time to ask the waiter for the check when she heard.

"Well… you could always introduce me to your hunk detective."

What did you all think? 😬
