Welcome back to Sentinel's land of horrors. But then there are no horrors lined up for this chapter so you don't need your meds to get through it.
I want to thank everyone who has read, faved, alerted, followed and or reviewed this tale. And speaking about reviews lets get to it: CB73. Yeah, Ron's life is a train wreck at this point. No one (alive that is) has put the puzzle together and we always thought that Wade was smart or that GJ was on the ball…..oh well. Sometimes the bad guys win or are at least ahead in the game. Don't worry, Annie will unload when her temper kicks in; GJ agent, well there were pics taken, but ole Ronnie boy has had the football players and the goons lean on people to keep their mouths shut….not sure, but this chapter will answer some of that; Bobtrumpet, hey I posted but they didn't notify me. Occasionally you have to go into your account and tell them you want notifications. It worked for me. Yeah, Doc Peas are getting close.
Jimmy1201, That would be cool about launching Eric into the wide blue yonder, but I don't need that in this tale. And Mac is planning.
I want to thank CajunBear73 (who edited this chapter) and Jimmy1201 for being my betas especially CB who has been doing this for years.
Let's get going on this chapter,

The Hunter: Book Two
Chapter 43
Upperton, Colorado:
"Have a seat Mister Rockwaller.", the dark suited G-Man offered.
Jacob sat down as was requested, "Does my information pan out, Sir?"
Special Agent Simon Ribbits responded, "Yes, it does Sir, and we will offer you a proffer tomorrow afternoon or as soon as we can. Make sure your lawyer accompanies you the next time we meet. We just have to get everyone in place and agree to work with us. According to what other information we have received, we have to get one special person to agree to do something which no one else will be able to do, but once we have that agreement in place, we will have almost everything ready to proceed with indictments."
Special Agent Shimble took over, "We have to get cooperation with a minor at the local high school, and there is a problem contacting his parents. Can you make a suggestion about him?"
"Who is it Sir?"
"A teen named Ronald Stoppable…"
"Both of his parents passed away. I would suggest his lawyer or James Possible to act in their stead as advisors.", Jacob advised and informed the G-men.

A black business jet with an unusual 'inverted' silver 'V' logo on the side rolling down the runway at Middleton International Airport:
"Ya know Yori, you guys could have let the Wadester know who I was meeting for this little get-together. I coulda picked some snacks.", Ron grumbled as he felt the sleek jet lift off and begin to climb into the air. The teen semi-relaxed back in his seat.
"It was for security reasons Ron-san. You and Doctor Load have informed us that Doctor Possible has your tech person's operations under surveillance. We thought that there is a chance that others might have been able to break into his systems as well. If you remember that is why we had all Yamanouchi information taken off his servers except for your poetry.", the lithe shinobi informed her friend, "Which was comical, if you want a concerned opinion about your writings."
The blond teen rolled his eyes, "Master Insheko didn't specify what he wanted, and I screwed it up." The teen paused and started off on another track, "So, I take it the threat to Japan hasn't been resolved yet, Yori?"
"True Ron-san, but the seer has revealed to us that events concerning the future of Yamanouchi will soon come to pass."
Sighing, "I understand. Ya know, it's getting a little tight on my end. I am lapping myself…for like the third time. My energy level is beginning to drop and shithead Barkin is giving me a lot of trouble with school. He's put out that I have been cheating at school and have been for years."
Yori frowned at the teen who had bags under his eyes, "You must keep yourself as you say 'together' Ron-san, we cannot spare a single asset to help you until after the threat is neutralized which we hope that threat will be neutralized in the near future."
"I understand Yori, also…I've been hearing from some people that Colorado State is gonna offer me a football scholarship, but they haven't said anything to me yet and it's pretty late in the year to do this as I understand. The signings for this year is over I guess…and anyway, what I said about Barkin has probably messed that up although I wasn't planning on going to college."
Yori inquired, "What does 'football scholarship' mean?"
"If I play the game of American football for them then I get a free education in return…Not sure I wanna do it though. Anyway, the offer hasn't been made yet so there is no way that I am counting on it.", the blond teen explained.
"Why is that Ron-san?"
"Hanna. See if I get injured…sigh, someone would have to take care of her…I don't have the claud to pay somebody to babysit her while I go to class and then have to go to away games, then practice. It would get expensive and I don't wanna run the account down to zero. We have to have something to fall back on. I did buy a place in Lowerton. So, even if Barkin's claims are proved false, which they will since I didn't do anything wrong, I take the chance of getting injured in college trying to run the football against people actually bigger than Amy Hall."
Yori's eyes opened wide as one thing popped out in her mind, "You bought a house?"
"More of a villa or a condo, if you know what they are, but yeah. I used some of the money from Mom and Dad's insurance policies. Me and Hanna will have a place to stay now. It's cheaper to live in Lowerton than Middleton and I can't work in Middleton.", Ron explained.
"But you mentioned that you are able to make a wage. Has that gone away as well Ron-san?", Yori looked a little worried at her friend's mental state.
"I found a place, it doesn't pay tremendous money, but they like me there and with our place being paid for. All I will owe is the taxes and then our monthly utilities and food…I will probably have some left over each month and won't have to drain the estate any more than I already have. I had to get my insurance agent to buy the place since I really am too young to buy it myself.", Ron explained.
"And there is no way you can find a place in Middleton? You should have stayed in your home…"
"I can, but like I said it's cheaper to live in Lowerton. It would be cheaper to stay except like I said I can't work there because of Martin Smarty. And of course, I don't have the house anymore because Kim's boyfriend sued Mom and Dad's estate for getting hurt, and it was cheaper to just hand over the house since he was gonna bleed me dry in court costs and legal fees although my lawyer is doing it for free at the moment."
"That is logical Ron-san, Sensei would be proud of you for making decisions based on facts. However, there is a way to make this Smarty person go away.", the Japanese teen complimented the former Middleton mascot as she wondered if she should pay a visit to the billionaire and scare him a little.
"Yeah, but I'll probably fall on my face the next time I try to do something. So, where are we headed? You guys didn't tell the Wadester anything except to get my skinny can to the airport."
"We are traveling to a temple in Laos…sigh…a monkey temple.", Yori informed Ron who just seemed to cringe at the word.
"Just my luck Yori, what are we looking for?"
"Something like what we discovered in London. We had reports of Lord Fiske in the area of the temple by local people and we want to investigate. We have also determined that the 'Yono' that we checked out in London is a real monkey demon called 'Yono the Destroyer' and is capable of causing a very high level of destruction. There is supposed to be a way of calling him from his other worldly realm for a price.", Yori stated.
"Demons of the monkey type and a price should never be used in the same sentence Yori. It's just wrong sick.", Ron frowned as he tried to think about it for a moment and then shuddered.
The female shinobi's dark eyes glinted, "And you, Ron-san, are the monkey master. Monkeys should obey you."
"Obey me? What did they have you burning for incense Yori? Listen, do you think ole Monty has anything to do with this temple thing?"
"I do not know, that is why we must investigate."

Steve Barkin and Ernie Roberts gazed across the table at the small out of the way eatery. Chester Wilmington, the new head of the boosters, told them, "Order Stumpable, or whatever his name is to report to summer training like you said he did last year."
Steve Barkin lowered his voice, "Stoppable has stated that he will not be returning…Martin Smarty didn't do us any favors last year when he banned that puke from working in town…Of course, Possible's boyfriend didn't do us any favors either when he sued Stoppable and got the family home. The kid has to work outside of town and he decided to move to Lowerton because it's cheaper."
"I am ordering you to fail Stum…what the hell is his name again?"
Barkin replied and warned, "Stoppable, his grades are too high to fail now. It would take a major adjustment and then I have to get my person in the clerk's office to change his birthdate so he would be younger. If I did that since he is a high-profile person who works with Possible, people might notice."
"I don't care, just make it happen. We have men who are going to be seniors jumping ship…this Stump…person we need to rebuild our program.", Wilmington ordered, "And he's going to have to carry the whole damned team."
Roberts warned, "Too many people noticed him last fall…"
"I don't care, we need him…."
"Stoppable has a baby sister Mister Wilmington…"
"If he doesn't comply, he had a baby sister.", Chester warned, "This clown had better do what I want…"
Barkin rolled his eyes since the new head of the athletic boosters was more of a thug than Jacob Rockwaller ever was, "I am working on it, Sir, but in the next week CSU is going to offer that goof off a schollie for football."
"Who told you that Steve?"
"Their running back's coach.", the school administrator told the head of the Middleton athletic boosters.
"Do what you have to keep that kid in Middleton, I don't care where he goes to school. If he moves to Lowerton he is still our property and I will bust heads to make sure he stays that way."
"I can call the coach of Lowerton, he owes me a favor.", Barkin stated as he pulled his phone out of his pocket and punched in a number.
X
"Okay, they won't use him so he's ours, but it cost us thirteen points in our game. Bill Freeman reminded me that Stoppable wasn't a pushover when he sent his goons after him."
Chester laughed, "I'll take losing some points to make sure we have that kid. Good job Steve. We may not win, but knowing the point spread in advance should allow us to make a pretty penny on that game."

The Possible home:
Jim Possible asked, "Where were you guys, Mom?"
"Well, we went out to neck after we drove around out in the country for a while and then we brought you some pizza to snack on before you go to bed.", Anne Possible responded as James came in carrying three large pizzas.
The elder of the twins grabbed the boxes and headed for the kitchen as he called out, "Kim! Mom and Dad brought pizzas home!"
"Be down in a minute.", the younger red-head's voice called out from her room.
Tim came from upstairs as Anne instructed, "Boys wash your hands I will get out sodas."
"Mommmmm…"
James advised, "Please do as you're told boys, as you know you Mother has to go back to Denver in the morning and we don't want to cause her any trouble."
Kim entered wearing a towel in her hair as she had just gotten out of the shower. She was in her pajamas. After seeing the boxes, she got out plates along with napkins and said, "I miss family pizza night. We haven't had one in a while. Too bad Ron lives so far away now…"
"Honey he wouldn't be able to be here anyway even if you didn't have your allergies to him."
"Why not?", the younger redhead inquired.
"We went to see him at the Rentons and he got called out for a mission to investigate something.", Anne told her eldest.
"Ron went on a mission without me? That's the third time this year. Who requested it?", Kim asked a couple of questions, then added, "I am the team leader, it's supposed to go through me."
Anne frowned as she sat down, "It sounded like the call came though Wade, so after we get done eating you can speak with him."
"I'll do that."
James nodded, "I would assume that the boy is in the air at the moment so you might as well eat first before you call Wade."
Anne chuckled as she noticed that her eldest was going to argue, "We will be done in thirty minutes anyway and it will take at least that long for your hair to dry…and it's a school night. You weren't invited on the mission so you can get a good night's sleep in your bed."
Sigh, "What about Hanna? Ron knows he shouldn't be taking her anywhere that could be dangerous."
"She is at the hospital nursery, so she is safe and well cared for.", Anne responded, "Anyway, you and I have something to discuss about the child and we might as well do that after your call to Wade."
X
"So, why didn't they want me along, Wade?"
"Well, from what I gather they've worked with Ron before, and, well…they don't trust your boyfriend since he gave Ron all that grief about his sister and they felt that you might tell him something they would like to be kept confidential. Anyway, if he wasn't an issue you would have been asked. Soooo, I guess it's a 'trust' issue concerning Eric.", Wade explained to Kim, "Listen, before you ask, they didn't even tell me who they were and why they wanted Ron. I would guess Ron knows by now and I have tried to track his ride through the chip embedded in his neck…But something is interfering with the signal."
"Eric is fine.", Kim growled, "I trust him."
"Maybe so, but whoever wanted Ron to help them didn't want to have anything to do with your boyfriend, Kim."
Sighing, "So, whoever wanted Ron could have lured him into a trap?", Kim asked.
"Maybe so Kim. Ya know, there is a risk on any mission you guys do. Back during your sophomore year, I think Ron had one of the greatest risks…well the train was right up there after you flew out to warn that town.", Wade explained.
Kim thought for a moment then asked, "Which mission was that?"
"When Ron got his MMP Kim, at Fiske's estate when you had a mandatory family night with your cousins. I used the holo-Kim for the first time as a test of the concept and if I say so it did pretty well until the fight started. If I had known it was going to be dangerous, I wouldn't have sent him alone except with Rufus."
"Well Wade, it's a good thing that the stuff that Monkey Fist ranted about was a one-time deal. Ron cringes at just the name 'monkeys'. I'd hate to for him to have to deal with it all the time.", Kim observed, "I can say that I trust Eric, he does seem to be protective of children maybe a little too much, but I don't think that's a bad thing."
The genius thought, 'Ron was right, the less you know the better, because Eric's a walking security nightmare.'
Then the young man asked out loud, "Kim, do you believe Eric who you have known for about six months or Ron Stoppable who you have known since you were four?", Wade inquired, then added, "Also, who do you trust more…the guy who stands with you against bad guys or the guy whose family you have never met?"
"That's a hard question. It's not who I trust more Wade. I guess I trust them about the same. I mean I trust Ron with my life, but I love Eric and I hope this is the real thing."
"Do you remember that time on the train…or even the training mission where you guys had to climb a tower and you guys were falling out of that tower when Ron let loose of you to make sure your suit had enough lift so that you both wouldn't cash into the ground?"
"I remember the train Wade, but I really can't remember that training mission. What happened?"
Wade almost freaked out at that comment, since Kim at the time had a major freak out. Pausing, then, "Oh, nothing much. Ron got a little banged up that's all."
"Did he break any bones or anything bad?", the redhead inquired.
"Just a sprain Kim, just a sprain. You were worried for a few minutes and tended to him since you are an EMT."
The heroine responded, "Yeah I am, I ought to get back in the saddle and get back out there. Ron's not a fireman, anymore is he?"
"Not with caring for his sister. I mean he went on this mission, but they can't count on him to be at the station on any kind of rotation considering how much he has to work."
"Wade, did something bad happen to Ron a while back? Bad I mean, it's sorta a fog in my head ya know."
"Bad? What do you mean Kim?"
"Did Ron get hurt?"
"Huh?", Wade was confused because the goofy looking sidekick had spent all summer and fall injured in some way.
Kim asked again as she worried about her friend, "Did Ron get hurt?"
"Oh, a little burn and some smoke inhalation at a fire, that's a hazard of the occupation you know.", Wade replied as he repeated the lie Ron had told him to give out to the heroine, "They kept him overnight at the hospital to make sure he was fine."
(AN…While that was technically true, the genius didn't relate that the blond teen had fallen into an apartment building fire during Middleton's fall Homecoming and rescued a young girl and her dog. Kim still knew the child and her dog, but no one had made the connection for her since before Eric took over Ron's place in the cheerleader's life.)
"I just don't remember that Wade, maybe I should look into it, that might have been something that Ron would have exaggerated about…"
"Nope,", the genius cut her off, "they called your Mom in to the ER to help out."
"Wow, why wasn't I called out if Ron was?"
"You were Kim, you went with Ron to the homecoming as friends and then went to the fire when I got the alert."
"We went to homecoming? Together as friends?", the redhead inquired not having remembered any of what Wade was telling her.
"Yeah, but it was just as friends. You were between boyfriends at the time…and Ron, well he is Ron you know, sort of an outcast. I doubt if he'll ever get outta that and when you think that he's got to raise his sister…anyway, I've got more of a clue than he does and I'm not even a teenager yet.", Wade responded adding the last tidbit in to throw the heroine off the scent as Ron had suggested months before.
"I don't think Ron's that bad. Anyway, it is good to know that we went to the homecoming dance as friends. I know we've done that before…I must've been a bit of a goofball right then if I couldn't get a 'real' date. I guess I really am glad I found Eric.", Kim chuckled as her Mom walked up to her and sat down.
"I don't know Kim, anyway, like I said I have no idea of where Ron is going or who he is with. I mean, I don't think it's Monkey Fist or any of your other enemies, but I am going to have to wait until I get a signal to get any real information."
Sighing, "If you find out Ron is in danger, get me some backup and a ride please and thank you. Talk to you later Wade.", Kim then said, "Wait! I've heard a rumor that Ron is going to be offered a scholarship to play football, is there any credence to that?"
Kim heard some typing then the genius's voice, "Uh yeah, it looks like Colorado State is going to make an offer to Ron according to some online publications. The sticking point is that Mister Barkin said Ron's grades don't match up and they might want to hold him back a year…something about an audit of Ron's classes and the possibility that a lot of the work that he did, he cheated on."
Anne Possible frowned at this, "Wade, is there any evidence that Ron cheated in school?"
"No Ma'am…"
"Then what reason would Mister Barkin have for saying that?", Doctor Possible queried the genius.
"Okay, we all know that Ron doesn't get along with Vice-principal Barkin, but you have to realize that if Barkin doesn't allow Ron to graduate, he could, if Ron agreed, keep him two more years to make up grades and classes.", Wade explained.
"Wade, Ron is the head of his home and is moving to Lowerton this summer…"
"Yes Ma'am, I know he is. I think Barkin is going to file paperwork to try and force Ron to go to school at Middleton. Now we all know that Ron turns eighteen this summer, so the school can't force Ron to return. It's the law. Right now, I am not sure what is going to happen, but Ron is adamant about not returning to Middleton High after this year.", Wade informed the doctor.
"So, Ron is done?", Anne inquired.
"Yes Ma'am, I have kept all pertinent records for Kim and Ron since I started working with them and it is all on a backup server which is offline and can't be accessed unless I physically plug it in to the net.", Wade explained.
Kim's eyes narrowed as she heard all of this. Finally, she asked, "I helped Ron with his schoolwork Wade, but he did the work. I'm pretty sure he did it all and turned it in. Are they accusing me of doing his work for him?"
"Ahhhh, Mister Barkin didn't say, but he might be referring to you.", Wade admitted.
Anne growled and asked, "Would you connect me to Abby King of the school board please and thankyou Wade."
"Sure, Doctor Possible, it will take…oh it's ringing.", Wade informed them as he backed out of the upcoming conversation.
"King residence, may I help you?", a female teen's voice inquired.
"May I speak with Mrs. King please, this is Doctor Anne Possible.", Anne announced herself.
"Kim's Mom? Sure, I'll get Mom, but it'll be a minute."
Moments later:
"Anne, it's Abby. How are you?"
"Oh fine, just think in a few weeks the kids will be off to college and out of Middleton High.", Anne chuckled.
"Oh yes they will, and I am not running for school board next year. It will be nice to take vacations again."
"Abby?"
"It sounds serious, is something wrong with Kimberly?"
"No, but what is happening with Ron Stoppable?", Anne inquired, "I have raised him as my third son and some interesting things came up during a discussion tonight."
"You know about his parents passing away, right?"
"Yes, I am aware…"
"Are you alone Anne?", Abby queried.
"Kimmie is sitting here.", responded Anne Possible.
"When you are alone there are some things, but I cannot mention them…the walls have ears you know….and there are things children do not need to know."
Anne nodded to herself, "One moment."
"Sure."
"Kimmie could you bring me your phone and go up to your room please?"
"Mom?"
"Honey, it's official parent talk. If anything concerns you, I will tell you later. Anyway, don't you have to finish a report?", Anne explained.
"Yeah Mom, I do. I'll be right back."
A few minutes later:
Kim handed her phone off to her mom and by that time Anne had already gotten the extra phone from the twins' room. "I'm ready now Abby.", Anne announced.
"First, Ron Stoppable does not trust Kimberly's boyfriend. Are you aware of that?"
"Yes, I do Abby, he sued Ron's family…"
"And tried to adopt Ronald's sister away from him. In my mind that is very low, and it appears that boy is trying to tear Ronald apart."
"I have said the same thing Abby, what else is there?"
Sighing, "Ronald Stoppable is very good at playing football and Colorado State wants to offer Ronald a scholarship. There is a problem however."
Anne frowned at there being a problem, she inquired, "What is it?"
"Steven Barkin maintains young Mister Stoppable has faked some of his classes and doesn't deserve the scholarship until those classes are made up in full. He has calculated that Ronald would have to stay at Middleton High for two years to complete those courses. He also disputes Ronald's grades.", Abby explained.
"What?", Anne snapped, "That is BS. Anyway, why has Barkin allowed this to happen if it was true?"
"Not Sure Anne, it was a bit of a shock that he was so inept at tracking this down so I think I am looking at a lie here and we will get to the bottom of it.", Abby assured the surgeon.
Abby continued as James Possible entered the room and sat down, "He also says he has proof that Ronald Stoppable is only fifteen…"
At this Anne laughed, "Abby, as Tara knows, Kimmie and Ronald met in pre-K when both were four. Kimmie is about seven weeks older than Ronald, but they are the same age until she reaches her eighteenth birthday in a couple of weeks. And I know all this because that boy, until right after the new year, has basically spent most of his time here growing up. I do believe his family doctor is on staff and his Rabbi is one of our chaplains at the medical center. I am sure they have records."
"Could you have your staff notify them that the school board will be contacting them shortly?", Abby King requested. Then, "We are auditing Mister Stoppable's school records, a coach at Colorado State asked us for them because they want to investigate Mister Barkin's allegations as well we do."
Anne frowned at all of this. "Steven Barkin has been all over Ronald's behind for four years and I do not know why, Abby. But I don't like the fact that someone who has kept the whole tri-city from being turned into a glowing glass parking lot is being treated as he has from that…man."
"Anne? … What are you talking about?"
Sighing, "Last spring at prom, remember those giant robots in town?"
"Yes, there was some ruckus that night and then everything calmed down.", Abby agreed as she remembered the night.
"It was a full-scale invasion by one of Kimmie's foes. Ronald went to the prom to warn Kimmie that Doctor Drakken was behind it. They were able to shut it down before the military launched its missiles at the Bueno Nacho Headquarters. Nuclear tipped missiles. No one would have been left alive in Middleton and maybe Lowerton.", Anne informed the school board member, "Not many people reported it, but the world's militaries were overwhelmed."
"Kimberly and Ronald did that?", Abby asked.
"Yes, but I don't know what this Mister Barkin has going on, but he was terrible for Ronald during the football season. He had Jacob Rockwaller take Ronald to the hospital after the championship game because the boy had a concussion from a hit without his helmet on…he didn't even call to check up on the boy and as his coach, he was responsible for him. That man should never coach another football game again as long as he lives.", Anne spat out, "I saw with my own eyes some of the injuries Ronald had to play with, it almost borders on abuse."
"Would you care to speak before the board Anne?", Abby inquired.
"I can, but I won't be back completely for about three weeks now. At that point I will be the Chief of Staff at the hospital and my word would carry much more weight at that point.", Anne advised, "Anyway, I have to head back to Denver in the early morning and won't be back until then."
"Anne?"
"Yes Abby."
"There is something more and I don't know if Kimberly has said anything, but most of the boys are not going to play football next fall. Teens are transferring out of town to live with relatives. And then there is something that we've caught wind of."
Anne inquired, "What are you speaking about? I haven't heard anything about what you just said."
"Someone is investigating the athletic boosters. Jacob Rockwaller used to be a type 'A' jerk, but in the last few years he has become easier to deal with…but something is going on and I can't really tell you much except to keep your ears out. Please don't tell anyone about this…it might have something to do with Steve Barkin as well, although that is just conjecture on my part. Listen have a safe drive back up to Denver in the morning and it is also very nice to hear that your time up there is almost done.", the school board member said, then disconnected.
"What was that all about Annie?", James inquired after the surgeon placed the phone down in its cradle.
"A lot to think about…I have to make a couple of calls tomorrow on the drive back up to Denver. I will speak with Wade as well to make sure that he has Ronald scheduled for bloodwork. I want to get to the bottom of Kimmie's allergies to Ronald, but there are some things going on. It looks like Middleton may not have a varsity football team next fall."
"I haven't heard about that, what is happening?"
"It seems that a lot of the older boys are going to be moving out of town for some reason. Abby wasn't about to tell me more though."
"I haven't heard anything Anne, I wonder if Kimmie knows anything?", James thought out loud. The rocket scientist thought for another minute, then rose from his easy chair and went over to the stairs.
"Kimmie are you still up?"
"Yeah Dad, just finished my paper. Do you want me to come down and get my phone?"
Anne nodded as James gave her a questioning look. "Yes honey."
"Okay, I just have to print this out."
X
Kim picked up her phone and turned to go back upstairs when Anne asked, "Kimmie, have you heard anything about a number of the older boys on the football team leaving the Middleton area before next fall?"
"News to me Mom. I can ask Liz, or even Monique tomorrow…Is this about seniors? I mean they are graduating…"
"I'm not sure honey, it might be just a rumor and you know how rumors spread through high school, if it's true something is going on here and it might be out in the news before much longer when you consider how important high school football is to Middleton."
"Yeah, I think I'll call 'Nique tonight before bed, she's steady with Brick Flagg and he's still close to the football team. And not only that, but Brick is at CSU. He would know if they are really recruiting Ron to go there."
"I concur honey. Now I have to get some sleep and I will probably be gone when you and the boys get up in the morning.", Anne held out her arms. The younger redhead stepped into the offered embrace as Anne continued, "Being away from my family has been emotionally draining honey, but it's almost over. We can make up for it over the summer."
Kim wept a little and nodded, "I'm glad it's almost over too, maybe we'll actually be a family again before I have to go to college."
Anne nodded as her daughter broke the hug, "We need that."
Kim headed upstairs and then plugged her phone back into the wall but then pushed the 'connect' button on her wrist Kimmunicator since she didn't want anyone to listen in on her. Wade's holo image appeared above Kim's wrist.
The African American genius started off by saying, "Still don't have any more info on Ron yet, Kim."
"It's alright, but can you connect me to Monique Jenkins? I don't want the tweebs to listen in."
"Done and done Kim, do you want me to monitor or put a damping field around your unit?"
"Not right now, the tweebs have been laying low lately. Anyway, Monique and I might go over something that might be embarrassing for you.", Kim cautioned her friend.
"I…I…I understand Kim. Anyway, the next voice you hear is Monique's.", Wade signed off.
"Hey GF is nerdlinger off?", the fashionista inquired.
"Yeah, I think I might have freaked him out.", the head cheerleader giggled, "It's fun to do sometimes."
Monique gasped in hysteria, "Well don't freak him out too much. Now why did you call so late?"
"You said that Ron might be recruited?", the cheerleader asked.
"Yeah, Brick's college. The news comes out pretty soon as a surprise.", Moni confirmed, "They don't wanna clue Ron in because they are trying to not give anyone watching a chance to look into their hand. About the only one who knows is Barkin and maybe the school board.", the fashionista explained.
"And Mom said that Barkin is trying to block Ron from being recruited…"
"I can't talk about that Kim…I promised…"
"Who did you promise? This is important.", Kim pushed for an answer.
"GF, I can't tell you because this about public corruption. If I tell then it might tip off people before the authorities can step in and make their arrests.", the gossip queen of Middleton High confessed.
Kim inquired, "Does Ron have anything to do with this? I would hate to see him end up in jail…he'd look a lot better in a football uniform that a prison jumpsuit."
"Not that I know of, although I agree with the clothing choice. Somehow, I think, if anything he is just a pawn and since people like these prey on others, everyone is worried about his sister."
"No one would ever dare to hurt that cutie, Monique."

Now for some information; currently and for the next year and a half I am the head of a local charity organization which has national and international connections. This organization's work takes about five hours a day out of my time. So, this schedule of updates will continue until June of 2024. I will continue to write and play the guitar, but both are taking a hit for a while.
We'll see ya down the road,
