Layla and Jude Heartfillia, upcoming businessman and woman who had ventured from the company Love and Lucky where they had met, to one of the most powerful families in Fiore. They fell in love rather quickly, as Jude was a salesman at the time and Layla an accountant in her department. They always flirted shamelessly and had become smitten with one another just in a couple weeks. Jude would always come by just to mess with the blonde who embarrassingly wouldn't admit she had such a big crush on this handsome stud of a man. He was smart, tall, handsome, and oh so gentle and sweet. His mustache is what really caught her eye when she had first met him and they were wed within the first year.
They had started their business and climbed up the ladder rather quickly, partnering with loads of other companies around as they had purchased many railroads to upkeep their transportation business above water. They had made many friends along the way and one of their closest happened to be the ones who owned the Dragon Incorporated, an industrial business who supplied and fixed up their trains and railroads.
Layla had become such close friends with Igneel who had just begun the business, partnering with him as he had such passion and talented skills when it came to engineering. Igneel had become family at one point, coming over for dinners, golfing with Jude on the weekends, and even when he had met the love of his life: Grandine, they were the firsts to know and be introduced to the beautiful blue-haired woman.
Layla and Grandine became best friends instantly. Going out to lunch, having girls night at each other's places, drinking wine and complaining about their husbands, and coincidentally enough, experiencing pregnancy together.
"Oh, Layla, I'm so excited for this journey of ours!" Grandine gushed as she pressed her dainty palms against the slight bump of the blonde's stomach. "This is fate just telling us it's meant to be! How far along are you now?"
"I'm about seventeen weeks along." Layla had a wide smile on her face.
"Seventeen weeks and three days but who's counting?" Jude had an identical smile on his face as he held the bump on his wife's stomach. Layla only flushed slightly and nudged him on the arm, earning a kiss on the cheek from her husband. "She's a kicker alright."
"Oh goodness!" Grandine squealed, turning to look at Igneel who also had a wide grin to his face. "Our little boy is just going to be a bit older than yours, huh?"
"How far are you now?"
"Just a little over twenty one weeks. He's growing antsy." The blue-haired Dragneel ran her hand around her larger bump, feeling the warmth radiating off her tummy. Igneel gave her hand a squeeze and they shared a loving look. "We want to name him Natsu."
"Oh, how cute!" Layla squealed, pressing her palms together. "He's going to be born sometime in June, right?"
"Yes! We thought it was fitting." She giggled. "Do you have a name for your baby girl, yet?"
Layla and Jude shared a loving look and looked back at the couple. "We were thinking Lucy. Lucky Lucy."
"We used to work at Love and Lucky and just felt it was right."
"How romantic!" Grandine reached for the hands of the blonde who returned the gesture by giving her hands a squeeze.
"Alright Jude. For the plan?" Igneel had cleared his throat to grab the attention of the women.
Grandine and Layla shared confused looks before they leaned back into their seats, seeing how the conversation had suddenly become business.
"So, Igneel and I were discussing a potential partnership and wanted to see what you two thought about it. Nothing is finalized or official because we wanted to get your insight on it before we came to any conclusions." Jude reached over to grab his wife's hand who was looking at him with an eyebrow raised. She exchanged a quick glance over at Grandine who also looked equally as confused and slightly worried as Igneel began to rub her stomach. "We were thinking… Maybe we should arrange a marriage for our children when they are all grown up?"
A loud gasp echoed throughout the office and Grandine was first to suddenly shoot up in her seat, startling everyone, especially Igneel.
"Honey! You're going to scare Natsu!" He cried out but Grandine didn't give him any mind.
"Layla!" Grandine screamed, reaching for the woman who had also stood up to grab the hands of the woman. "An arranged marriage?! Oh my goodness! This is great!"
"Isn't that exciting?" Layla continued to squeal, her excitement through the roof as her chocolate orbs twinkled. She looked over her shoulder to look at her husband who smiled right back, offering a hand on her hip to steady and to show her he was still there.
"Oh, my Natsu and your sweet Lucy! This will be so great! They'll be perfect!"
"There is nobody else I would want to be married to!"
"Uh, Layla, you're not the one getting married to the Dragneel's…"
"It's practically the same thing," She waved him off. "We'll be sisters!"
"And our babies would be married!" Grandine squealed in delight, twirling around to smack Igneel in the shoulder. Igneel looked almost offended and hurt, grabbing the wrist of the woman who kept swinging at him. "Igneel hurry up and agree! Sign the damn papers!" Grandine barked at her husband who sighed.
Igneel looked over at his best friend, an excited grin on his face as he reached over to shake hands with the blonde man. "I suppose we should arrange a time we could get our lawyers together and type up this document to make it official."
"As soon as possible." Jude grasped his hand to shake it firmly, a wide smile on his face as well.
Grandine and Layla couldn't contain their excitement as they screamed in celebration and happiness, the two men cringing at the high-pitch squealed and wondering if they maybe had overdone it to their pregnant wives.
"Natsu and Lucy would be wed!"
Rewrite of this story had been requested and while I go through my old messes to edit and fix, I hope this one gets through to those who needed it.
