Chapter 48: Ania's turn
The sun rose in through Mitch's window as he was fast asleep still recovering from his healing ability when suddenly there was a large unknown force sitting on his body as he groaned and rolled over tossing it off. "Hey wake up! It's time for you to help me learn my bankai!" Ania's voice echoed in Mitch's ears as she kicked his inanimate body "Ugh can't you give me a few more hours" he grumbled but instead all that warranted was her sitting on top of him and repeatedly punching his chest.
"You're not going away are you" opening one eye he saw the all too familiar smirk on her face that answered his question as he sighed "Doing this the hard way then". Quick as a flash his hand flew up grabbing Ania and rolling her onto his side attempting to lock her in place with a bear hug so he could fall back asleep as she simply shunpoed free and resumed kicking him chanting "Wake up, wake up".
"Binding Art 61: Six Rods Prison of Light" pointing his index finger towards Ania a spark of yellow energy burst forth creating six rods which slammed into Ania's torso before pinning her up against the wall as Mitch rolled over and sighed with content at getting a few more minutes of sleep.
Before he could even enjoy a single minute of rest the door was thrown violently open by a gust of wind as Yoruichi flew in sitting atop him as she started to playfully shake him. "Hey wakey wakey it's time we went to train Ania, speaking of where is she? I am pretty sure I sent her ahead of me to wake you up" she said as Mitch pointed to the wall where Ania was pinned glaring angrily down at him.
After being released from the spell Mitch groggily rose from his bed as he staggered out the door groaning with each step he took. "Seeing you like this I'd bet you were out drinking last night" Yoruichi said while Ania was busy lifting his shirt up and attempting to find any traces of the wounds he had sustained yesterday. "Just how in the hell did you manage to heal all your wounds without going to the 4th squad barracks!" Ania grabbed Mitch by the ear spinning him back around "Do you know healing kido or something?"
"Ahhh so that's why you're tired" Yoruichi sighed as Mitch groaned in response "Mitch created an ability where he uses his reiatsu to heal all his wounds, it's fairly effective at quickly patching oneself up but also leaves him entirely drained". "How the hell am I supposed to learn my bankai if you're half asleep!" Ania whacked him over the head as Mitch sighed "It's not like I need to stay awake while you're doing the actual training, so I'll explain everything to you and then take a brief cat nap to recover my energy". Yawning he quickly shunpoed away heading towards the training ground before Ania could raise anymore objections or more to the point lay more physical pain on him as Yoruichi and her followed behind.
Arriving just outside the entrance to the training area Mitch stopped and turned around just as Ania and Yoruichi arrived "Hurry up and get inside so I can brief you on the training and then finally get some rest" he growled grabbing both girls and tossing them down the hole before jumping in after them.
"Woah this place is huge" Ania stood there in awe at just how big and vast this place was and yet so well hidden from nearly everyone. "Kisuke and I built it back when we were younger to train privately amongst ourselves" Yoruichi grinned watching Ania marveling at both Urahara and her handy work.
"Clearly I can tell where Tom was doing his training" Ania pointed out the various craters and toppled mountains as Mitch awkwardly laughed "Actually well most of that damage was my doing from while I was training". Yoruichi coldly glared at him in response "Damn reckless idiot destroyed most of the mountains as well the last time he was doing his training here" "He really does have to train in the most destructive and dangerous ways doesn't he" Ania chimed in as both girls shook their head.
"If you two are done bagging on me can we get on with the bankai training" Mitch interjected jumping down to the bottom of the training area as Ania followed to find a dummy placed in the middle of the open area with a target stuck right on its stomach.
"Right now take a seat while I explain how this bankai training works" "I still find it weird getting used to you being all teacher like given how you were at school" Ania sarcastically said as Mitch shot her a stern look causing her to quickly sit down.
"When you stab your zanpakuto into this target it forces your spirit into the dummy as a living creature so that you can train with it, you'll only have 3 days to master your bankai though since anymore time after that becomes hazardous for the wielder and their spirit". "What exactly will I have to do in order to master my bankai?" Ania asked as Mitch simply shrugged his shoulders "As I said before you have to figure that out on your own it's all part of the training, now if you'll excuse me I'm going to take a cat nap" done with his speech he shunpoed back up to the top of the cliff.
Standing up Ania walked over to the dummy and stabbed her sword directly into the middle of the target causing it to glow a bright white colour as Kanzen Bi slowly began to materialize. When the light faded the sleek black panther was fully formed and laying on the ground as it lazily opened one eye immediately spotting Ania and playfully leapt forward knocking her onto the floor.
"Hurray you've come to learn your bankai!" she happily exclaimed nuzzling up to Ania before leaping back allowing Ania to stand up just as the air of playfulness left her. "Are you ready for your challenge?" the panther asked as Ania nodded her head only to watch a weird pink mist slowly envelope the entire training area causing Kanzen Bi to completely disappear eliminating every trace of her reiatsu as well.
"So any guesses as to what her bankai training will be?" Yoruichi asked Mitch who did not respond as she turned around to find him lying against a rock fast asleep and snoring loudly. "Useless kid" she mumbled shaking her head before turning back around to watch what was about to unfold inside the mist.
