Beginning A/N: Welcome back once again, True Believers, to the real new chapter of Injustice Syndicate: The Mis-Ed-Ventures! When we last saw our aged-up Ed-Boys, Eddy had just explained how he became the apprentice to the Black Panther. Rest in Peace, Chadwick Boseman. Wakanda Forever… But now we see what Ed has been up to during his tenure as a member of the Red Lantern Corp. Just what is he going to face off against in this chapter? Stay tuned and let's find out!

Disclaimer: I still don't own content from Marvel, DC, and I don't own Ed, Edd n' Eddy! Many of the OCs and character designs in this story were created by Mace sheperd, who requested the original story from me!

Red Lantern's First Mission!

"So, that's my story." said Eddy.

"It seems we've all been through our own ordeals after the Joker's attack and subsequent destruction of our home. And we each got powers of our own out of it." Double Dee said. "It's almost as if we've each been chosen by some greater power to accomplish an objective. But what is it?"

"Beats me." Eddy said with a shrug.

The three young me and one klyntar sat in a slightly awkward silence. They were only reunited a couple of hours ago and they had already told each other so much about what they've been through since that day. The day when their home and everything and everyone they ever knew and loved was destroyed. All by one psychotic clown that the heroes couldn't be bothered to finally put down like the rabid animal that he is.

'My, how awkward…' Riot thought to himself.

"So, Ed, what have you been up to as a Red Lantern?" Eddy asked.

"Mostly just traveling through the universe, fighting the Sinestro Corp and keeping them from gaining a foothold in our galaxy." Ed replied, glad for the break in the awkward silence.

"Seriously?" Eddy asked with a smile forming.

"Yeah, seriously." Ed replied.

"Well, I'm impressed, Ed. You've really come a long way from the awkward, unvarnished dunderhead we've always known." Double Dee commented. "Emphasis on the word dunderhead."

Ed just laughed and said, "Yeah, during a physical when I first joined the corps, they found out that I had some sort of blockage in my brain that was making me stupid. Likely caused by serious blunt force trauma when I was very young. It's gone now thanks to advanced alien medical science, but the doctor said that I'll still have moments of stupidity."

"You wouldn't quite be you if you didn't, Lumpy." Eddy said.

"Yeah, well, let me tell you, that stupidity of mine combined with the rage I felt when I first got this ring caused a lot more trouble than it should have." Ed said with a cringe. "Let's just say that Ed-Zilla rampaged once again."

Eddy and Double Dee couldn't help but wince at the mention of that name. That was one experience that they didn't want to relive, especially if it was aimed at them.

"Ed-Zilla?" Riot asked.

"I'll tell you about it later." Double Dee said to the Klyntar.

"So, Ed, did you have any interesting missions during your time away from Earth?" Eddy asked.

Ed thought for a moment, smiled, and said, "Well… there was this one mission."

~Flashback: 4 Years Ago…~

It had been two weeks since the incident where Ed first arrived on Ysmault and went on a rampage in a construct of Ed-Zilla. And since he had stuck most of the corps to a cave wall using chewed up Chunky Puffs as if it were a scene out of Alien. Eventually, the cereal did harden to the point that it became brittle, and everyone was able to pry themselves off of the wall and fight each other to calm down after the experience.

After they had hit the showers, of course.

Bleez and the other female members of the Red Lantern corps never really knew how hard it really was to get Chunky Puffs out of your hair until that day.

Eventually, they did meet up with Ed in a more civilized setting where Ed apologized for his behavior, explaining how he had blanked out almost as soon as the ring had put itself on his finger and wasn't consciously in control of his actions. Fortunately for Ed, the rest of the corps accepted his apology with Zilius Zox even commenting how if they had unleashed him on their enemies that they wouldn't stand a chance in hell against him.

They all look back on what they dubbed 'The Return of Ed-Zilla' and laugh about it now.

At the moment, however, a small group of Red Lanterns, including Ed, was flying out towards a set of coordinates given to them by Atrocitus. The reason? They had a mission in that sector.

"Why are we flying to this planet, again?" Ed asked.

He had just been assigned to a mission with his fellow Red Lanterns, Bleez, Skallox, Razer, and Dex-Starr, and they were flying through space to a nearby galaxy where they were tasked with saving a certain planet. He didn't quite remember the name of the planet, but he knew that it was home to much sentient life and had quite the diverse biodome.

Skallox glanced back at Ed and asked, "Have you ever heard of an alien race called the Skrull?"

Ed nodded yes in response.

"We've received questionable intel on this at best, but the Skrull have been spotted on a number of occasions traveling to this particular planet and abducting the locals to sell as slaves on the intergalactic black market. According to this intel, a raiding party is there right now." Skallox explained as they continued to fly ahead.

"We're not about to let those bunch of ugly shapeshifters turn others into slaves like they've been doing, so we're going to put a stop to this!" exclaimed Razer.

"That's right!" Bleez said.

This mission was personal for her, as she had been a slave to the Yellow Lanterns before becoming a Red Lantern.

And Ed was certainly getting angry and scowled behind his gas mask. He might not have been the best student in school and had trouble paying attention in class, but he remembered enough about the American Civil War to know and understand what slavery was. He honestly felt that it was one of the most abhorrent crimes against humanity that one could commit, to own another human being as if they were property. It was right up there with cannibalism in his opinion.

"Then let's pick up the pace!" Ed said as he flew faster.

"Ed, wait for us! You don't know the way!" Skallox said as he tried to catch up to Ed.

"Uh-oh." Dex-Starr said simply.

As they gained speed, the Red Lanterns managed to catch up to Ed as Skallox led them to the coordinates that Atrocitus had given to them. After about another hour of flying they arrived at the planet and saw that there were indeed several Skrull battleships idling in orbit around the planet. Bleez snarled as she saw the filthy shapeshifters leaving the planet with several humanoids from the planet. She saw more red than usual as bad memories made their way to the surface.

And Ed became especially angry.

He tuned out the conversation as Skallox began to formulate a plan with the other Red Lanterns, having form a construct of a pair of binoculars to look into one of the small shuttles flying towards a large transport. Inside were several Skrull guards keeping watch over a group of female humanoids native to this planet. The humanoids, for the most part, looked totally human, if not for the fact that they had skin colored in varying shades of blue. And they also had wings like birds growing out of their backs which were bound by leather straps and chains in order to keep them from flying. When one of the guards bitch-slapped one of the captives who had tried to fight for her freedom, he could hold himself back no longer!

Forming a giant spatula construct, Ed yelled, "PREPARE TO BE TERMINATED, SKRULL SCUM!"

And with a raging war cry, Ed flew towards the transport ship like an angry red comet!

Bleez couldn't stop herself from grinning diabolically.

"That's the spirit, Lumpy! Let's get these bastards!" she said.

And she too flew in to join in the fight.

Skallox just scoffed and said, "So much for the element of surprise."

And so, no longer having the element of surprise, the other Red Lanterns joined the fight as well. It was sure to be a bloody one, that's for sure.

***To Be Continued…***

Ending A/N: And thus ends another chapter in this story! Yeah, sorry that it's so short, but I didn't really have much inspiration for how I wanted the fight to go, so I'm gonna see if Mace sheperd, the author who requested the original story, would be willing to collaborate with me on writing the fight scene. But I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter anyway. Thanks for reading and I'll see you all next update!
