Beginning AN: here it is the next chapter. in regards to what happens with Ronald Weasley in this chapter I've decided to have him not survive the encounter with Fluffy. and personally I think that despite his great skill in chess even in canon he wouldn't survive against Fluffy on his own and it would be due to his own ignorance and stupidity in acting on Harry's behalf in accepting the late night duel with Draco that would have gotten killed. so think of that encounter in this chapter as a "what if Ronald Weasley was left to face Fluffy by himself" scenario but without dragging Dixie, Hermione and Tiny down with him. read and review but flame reviews will be ignored. now on with the story.
Chapter 14: Harry Potter Year 1 part 4
The school year carried on, Dixie proved to be very good on a broom, while Tiny and Hermione were good as well they preferred to fly under their own power, and found the brooms lacking the freedom of doing so. This even got Dixie onto the quidditch team, as seeker, much to the dismay and anger of Cho Chang. It did cause a bit of trouble with Malfoy though.
All four of the houses were in the same flying class and malfoy messed with Neville, and stole his remembrall after he crashed into both Susan Bones and Hannah Abott, needing all three to go the hospital wing, with Tiny and Hermione helping Hooch get them there. Dixie managed to save the remembrall, but Dixie was challenged by the pissed off Malfoy to a wizard duel at midnight in the trophy room, she did not know what it was, but Weasley said she accepted and he was her second.
"Why did you do that?" Dixie asked.
"I hate Malfoy. As your second I take over if you die, and well...you are a monkey." Ron shrugged walking away not realizing how what he said could be taken, just that he thought humans were better then animals. "This lets me get him. Oh and make sure you show up. Magic will pay a price if you don't if the one challenged doesn't show up."
The others weren't happy about that but they all showed up, meeting Ron right before they entered. Though they only heard Filch coming not seeing Malfoy.
"Since we are here and Malfoy is not will we get in trouble if we leave?" Tiny asked as the clock struck midnight.
"No we can leave." Ron muttered as filch got closer. "I can't believe that snake sold us out to filch."
"Well good luck with that." Tiny and Hermione said grabbing Dixie and Monkeyporting back to their dorm leaving Ron due to still being unhappy with the monkey comment Ron made when accepting the duel on Dixie's behalf.
rather than allow himself to get caught out after curfew he runs away from the scene not knowing the room he hides in will be the last mistake he will ever make.
once he hides in a random room he hears growling behind him and he turns around and sees that he had run into the 3rd floor corridor that Dumbledore warned everyone about at the start of the year and just found out why it was forbidden since there was a Cerberus in the room and it looked like it was hungry enough to eat anything even the students that it was supposed to guard away from the danger that's quite literally below its feet through a trap door. Ron turns to attempt to run away but the Cerberus catches him before he can open the door and he's eaten by the Cerberus.
the next morning everyone notices Ron's absence and learn he got himself killed and how it happened. there's a funeral for him and the blame for his death falls on Draco Malfoy since he was the one to challenge Dixie to a duel and cowardly decided to not show up at the designated time and place.
rather than expel him from Hogwarts Dumbledore decides that Draco needs to learn humility by having Severus give Draco one of the potions that Cranky sent him over the past few months. the potion is similar to the one that Cranky gave Hermione but had the added effect of turning Draco into a female Chimpanzee type Kong in order for him to learn that his actions have consequences and to treat girls better no matter what species they are. it's decided that Draco's name from this point on will be Lyra Kong since her father disowned her from the Malfoy family to avoid backlash from trying to support a disgraced coward who indirectly killed a fellow student. and her mother wanted nothing to do with her since her actions also reflected badly on the Black family. since Tiny was her cousin Lyra decided she had nothing to lose by acknowledging their relationship. with nowhere else to go Lyra will return to the DK Islands with Dixie, Hermione and Tiny after the school year ends in the summer.
the Cerberus which was called Fluffy was ultimately put down much to the grief of Hagrid.
On Halloween Tiny, Dixie, and Hermione were headed to the Halloween feast but stopped by the bathroom first and found a crying Lavender Brown, she had been partnered up with Seamus Finnegan in Charms and his magic exploded and burnt off her hair and eyebrows, leaving her in tears.
They couldn't do anything there though, so continued to the feast.
At the feast they were enjoying the food when Professor Quirrel the muggle studies teacher who got his job back after the year sabbatical, since Sirius Black was still the Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher, ran in and said there was a troll in the dungeon before fainting.
Dumbledore told everyone to remain in their dormitories while the teachers dealt with this.
"WAIT!" Tiny yelled stopping everyone. "What about the Slytherin and Hufflepuffs? Their dorms are in the dungeons."
This caused said students to pale along with Dumbledore.
"Ah sorry, I had forgotten that in the fuss. Those two houses stay here." Dumbledore corrected.
While heading back, Tiny, Hermione, and Dixie remembered about Lavender and had Dixie tell a perfect while they monkeyported to her, being just in time to save her from the troll, by throwing orange bombs to briefly stun it, and their Crossbows in its eyes to blind it, before finding the rest of its body was too tough, and they could not monkey port Lavender out due to Lavender panicking and flailing too much for them too get close, her eyes tightly closed so she didn't even know they were there. They then looked at each other and nodded before shrinking down and using their flight powers to fly up, avoiding the trolls wild blind swings, and up to an ear each where they landed and headed inside and shot their weapons to make a hole in the ear drums they tossed dozens of orange bombs through each, with each growing back after getting through the ear drum, before running back and leaving the ears just in time for all the orange bombs to go off making the troll head explode sending them flying until they landed on two bodies, Hermione on Lavender's head knocking Lavender out, while Tiny was caught by the newly arrived Dixie, who went to retrieve Hermione and letting them both grow back while Dumbledore, McGonagall Snape, Flitwick and the prefect who got them looked in shock that two first years took down a full grown mountain troll.
They did get 50 points for Ravenclaw each for that, but decided to let Lavender think the teachers saved her, becoming especially glad when she started acting like the teacher's fangirl, and preferring the teachers to deal with that instead of them.
Ending AN: that's the chapter. I don't care if anyone dislikes that I killed off Ronald Weasley this early in the Harry Potter Saga. he may have redeeming qualities but in canon events he took too long to show that he has them and aside from that think of it this way. having it happen this way makes this story more varied in creativity than the others so far.
Next Time: a time-skip to the end of Year 1 where Dixie, Hermione, Tiny and Lyra confront Quirrelmort. and return to the DK Islands for the summer.
