What if Captain America didn't go in the ice? What if he settled down and had a family with Peggy Carter? What if their son had a son of his own? Steven Grant Rogers III wants to follow in his grandfather's footsteps. He wants to pick up the shield and don the mantle of Captain America. But is America ready for that? Is the world ready for another Captain America.

1. Prologue

The American Son

*I do not own DC, I do not own Captain America or any other Marvel or DC characters or names or anything. The one thing I do own is the idea of a 3rd Generation Steven Rogers. That's literally it.

Prologue

The United States of America. Or simply the US, USA, United States or America. The country consisted of 50 states, a federal district, five major self-governing territories and various possessions. It is the 4th largest country by total area. It's also the 3rd most populous country in the world. The leader of the free world. One of the first countries to declare independence. It was the first country to develop nuclear weapons. The first country to put a man on the moon. The first country to develop a super soldier. And after World War II, America established themselves as a global superpower and eventually became the world's sole superpower.

It wasn't always that way. Before February 1941, America was getting their ass handed to them in the war. It was looking very dim for the country but after March. The war turned. In March 1941, Private Steven Grant Rogers underwent an experiment that would change not just American history but global history as well as he underwent a rigorous experiment granting him Superhuman abilities. Pair it up with an indestructible shield with a promethium-based alloy along with other metals.

At first America sought to protect the asset, keeping him on the sidelines. Rather than use his abilities to save the country, they used him to tour the country to promote war bonds. But the courage in Steve Rogers could not be silenced. He defied all orders to stand down and went to infiltrate a Hydra camp, rescuing his friend, James Buchanan Barnes AKA "Bucky". Steve Rogers did the one task that no one else in the United States Army could do and made it out alive. He earned the rank of Captain, earned a medal and began to earn the respect of his peers. Soon he began gaining notoriety as Captain America.

Captain America proved successful against Hydra and the German Nazi's helping to win the war. But he didn't win without sacrifice. He lost his best friend and almost lost his life in the Artic but was recovered by ARGUS, a few days later. He reunited with Peggy Carter and the two settled down having two kids, Steven Grant Rogers Jr and Sarah Rogers. And that son would go on to have a son keeping the Steve Rogers name alive.

A/N: So, a long time ago I had this idea to write a story in which Captain America was in the DC Universe. And I didn't really like the first version of this fic, so I've decided to sort of do a reboot. So, I hope you guys enjoyed this prologue, I know it wasn't long but hopefully the story gets better as it advances. So, there will be a few marvel characters in this story. Like Winter Solider AKA Bucky Barnes, Black Widow AKA Natasha Romanoff, Peggy Carter, Steve Rogers of course. SHIELD has been replaced with ARGUS. I hope this story pans out well.
