Chapter 10
(Royal Palace)
Later that night, the group was heading towards the palace, each dressed up differently.
Naruto, Toph, Yue and Katara were in line to go inside the party, while Sokka, Aang and Will were dressed up in clothes Sokka had gotten for them to be part of the serving crew.
"This is bull! Why do I have to be part of the wait staff?" Will asked, as she glared at Katara.
"When you were practicing with us, you grabbed Naruto and said, and I quote 'Is that a squirrel in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?' end quote" Katara said with an unamused tone, while Toph and Sokka snickered.
"I still don't get it" Aang said, as he looked at the group, confused at what was so funny.
"You will one day, when you get a girl," Yue said with a kind smile at him.
"With how he is, I doubt that" Will said, as she rolled her eyes, before Katara slapped the back of her head. "Oi! Cut the crap!"
"Just get back there with Sokka and Aang, and try to not draw attention to yourself," Katara said with a firm tone.
Will grumbled at this, as she followed Sokka and Aang to where the other waiters were entering the palace.
"I give her an hour before she blows it" Toph said, as they walked into the line with the other rich people.
"I hope you have a way to get us inside" Yue said to Toph, since she was the expert on this.
"Just leave it to me," Naruto said, as he approached the front of the line.
"Invitations please" the guard said, holding his hand out.
"Here you are," Naruto said, as he held out four invitations to the man, who took them and looked at them.
After looking at each of them, he nodded and let them through.
"Ok, how did you pull that off?" Katara asked Naruto curiously.
"Ask the guy behind us, who doesn't have his invitations," Toph said with a knowing smirk.
"No invitation, no entry sir" the guard was heard saying.
"But I'm telling you, I swear that I just had them" another man was heard saying.
"Sir, if you don't leave, I'm gonna have to call the Dai Li," the guard said firmly.
"Don't you know who I am?!" the man yelled out, as Naruto and the others walked away.
"You stole the invitations," Katara whispered to Naruto, with an annoyed look on her face, as they entered the party.
"Well, it's better than drawing attention, sugar queen. Now, remember what we went over; don't talk to men unless spoken to" Toph said.
"Right, right," Katara said with an annoyed tone.
"Ok, let's split up. Yue, you're with Katara. Toph, you're with me" Naruto said.
"Good idea. If you find the Earth King, whistle twice, like we discussed back at the house" Yue said nodding at Naruto, before she and Katara walked in one direction, while Naruto and Toph took another.
"So, how many parties like this have you been to?" Naruto asked Toph curiously, as they walked, with Toph's arm looped around Naruto's.
"Enough that you're lucky I even came here" Toph said, as she sighed in annoyance.
"Hey, I'm with you, so it's not that bad, right?" Naruto asked with a raised eyebrow.
Toph scoffed at this, before Naruto grasped her hand and squeezed it, making her smile slightly.
"Come on, let's dance," Naruto said with a smile, as he dragged Toph to the dance floor.
"H-hey!" Toph yelled in surprise, as Naruto dragged her onto the dance floor, but she went with it.
Meanwhile, with Will, she was watching this, while serving some party goers.
"Well, at least someone is having fun" Will thought, as she mentally sighed.
"Such a fascinating hair color. Is it natural?" a noble woman asked Will curiously, as she took some food from her.
"Indeed it is" Will said with a nod, deciding to be nice, since she knew not all high society people were bad.
"If it is natural, is it red down south too?" a teen noble male asked with a smirk, as he looked at Will.
Will's eyebrow twitched at this, before she smiled in a flirty way and leaned forward towards the teen, before….
CRUNCH!
She jammed her knee into his crotch.
This caused the teen to scream in a high pitched tone, before he fell to the ground, holding his crushed family jewels.
Some of the male party goers who saw this winced, as their hands instinctively went to their own family jewels.
While some of the female party goers nodded at Will in approval, as they had heard what the teen had said to Will.
Thankfully, this attention grabbing incident was short lived, as Aang bumped into a noble woman and spilled some drinks on her.
"Oh jeez! I'm so sorry. Here, let me help you!" Aang yelled in a panic, before he used his Airbending to dry the woman's clothes, making it worse and getting everyone's attention.
"Oh, the Avatar! I had no idea you would be here" the woman he had spilled drinks on said with a smile, not bothered at all that her outfit and makeup was ruined.
Aang smiled and waved nervously at everyone, as Momo jumped off his head and crawled away with Aang's hat.
"Looks like it's twinkle toes that blew it" Toph said with an annoyed look, as she and Naruto stopped dancing
"Well, at least we got to have a nice dance before he did, right?" Naruto said with a smile at Toph.
"….eh, it was ok," Toph said with a shrug, as she tried not to smile.
"So you don't want to dance some more later then, since it was cut short?" Naruto asked her with a teasing tone.
"You are lucky I like you so much whiskers" Toph grumbled out.
Naruto chuckled at this, before he placed his hand under her chin and pulled her close. But before he could, he paused as he and Toph heard Sokka whistle, like they all agreed on them signaling if they spotted the Earth King.
"I'm gonna kill Sokka" Toph growled out, as Naruto pulled away from her.
Naruto looked where Sokka was pointing, and saw a royal procession pulling a concise man to a big table, where Aang was entertaining people, before he used his air scooter to move towards the earth king, with many people lifting their food out of the way.
Naruto moved to follow along with Toph, but his path was blocked by two men in black and green robes, wearing what looked like earth gloves.
"The Dai Li, I presume?" Naruto asked, recognizing these men from the tour of the city.
"Please come with us" one of the Dai Li said firmly to Naruto and Toph, before he grabbed Naruto by his arms, and used his earthbending to bind his arms together.
"Hey, that's not necessary, is it?" Naruto asked, as he was pushed along with Toph, who was also bound.
"You think you can take me in, you -" Toph was saying, before she was cut off.
"Toph, don't. I don't think they are looking for a fight" Naruto said, as they were taken to a library room.
"Fine. But if they make a wrong move, I'm bringing down the entire building" Toph said with a tsk of annoyance.

(Library room)
Naruto and Toph were pushed into the library room, where they saw Aang, Momo, Sokka, Katara and Yue with an older man. He had a long braided ponytail going down his back, a small goatee and mustache and wore dark green robes with golden lining.
"Hey guys, have they read you your rights yet?" Naruto asked curiously, as the Dai Li agent undid his earth cuffs, while Toph undid her own.
"You are not prisoners, Mr Uzumaki" the man with the ponytail said.
"Good to know. Now, where is Will?" Naruto asked with a firm tone.
Before the man could answer, they heard some yelling on the other side of the door.
"If any of my friends are hurt, I swear I'll rip off your arm, and beat you to death with the wet end!" Will was heard yelling, before the door was kicked open and a Dai Li agent was pushed through the door, with Will close behind.
"You know, I kinda want to feel you do that," Toph said with a smirk at Will, as she entered.
"Ditto" Sokka said with a smile, as he nodded.
"Amusing" the man said with an even tone, as he looked at the downed Dai Li agent with an unamused look, causing the agent to quickly get up and leave the room, closing the door as he did.
"Punk ass" Will said with a smirk, as she walked to the others.
"Now, who are you?" Yue asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Ah, yes. My name is Long Feng, leader of the Dai Li and grand secretary of Ba Sing Sae" the man said.
"Good, then you can get us an audience with the earth king," Naruto said firmly.
"Yea, we have important info that could end the war" Sokka said.
"Enough! The earth king has more important things to deal with, then the efforts of an endless war. Inside the city, the war is to not be mentioned at all, under penalty of harsh punishments" Long Feng said with a firm tone.
Everyone looked surprised at this, before they lightly glared at Long Feng.
"Great, the typical puppet king scenario" Will said with an annoyed tone.
"That's a thing?" Aang asked curiously, not looking away from Long Feng.
"You read enough books and you can recognise a lot of tropes" Will said
"The king is not a puppet, he is an important -" Long Feng was saying, before he was interrupted.
"Figure to his people, we would be lost without him, I just deal with the dangerous stuff so really, yea yea yea" Will said with a dry tone.
"Enough! I understand you all have been looking for your bison, while you have been here. If you keep causing trouble, I'm afraid it might become harder for you to -" Long Feng said, before being cut off.
"You really don't want to threaten us," Naruto said firmly with a glare at the man.
"Oh? Is that so?" Long Feng asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yes. We have a spirit friend that won't exactly like it, if any of us are hurt" Naruto said with a casual tone.
"Oh jeez, Kurama? He would make the water spirit look like a day at the spa, if he was set off" Sokka said with a grin, seeing what Naruto was doing.
"Do you actually have a spirit with you?" Long Feng asked with wide eyes.
"Indeed we do, Captain Slowly. So I would play nice for now, if you don't want to get squashed" Toph said with a grin, as she crossed her arms.
Long Feng said nothing to this, before he glared at the group. "You will be taken back to your home. Joo Dee will escort you" he said, as the door opened and a woman entered the room.
"Come with me please," the woman said happily.
"Who are you? What happened to Joo Dee?" Katara asked, as everyone looked at her with disbelief.
"My name is Joo Dee. I'll be your host, as long as you're in our wonderful city" the woman said with a wide smile, as she bowed to them.
"Oh yeah, this makes the whole cult thing better" Will said with a dry tone, as they all followed the woman out of the library.
As they left, Long Feng looked at two Dai Li agents, who were in the corners of the room.
"Search the city for this spirit they were talking about. Any pet named Kurama is to be brought in, immediately" Long Feng said with a firm tone.
The Dai Li agents nodded at this, before they left the room to spread Long Feng's orders.

(A week later)
It had been a week since the party and the group's encounter with the Dai Li.
In that time, the group had gone out and done their own thing to make allies and contacts in the city, so that they could try to find Appa.
Right now, Naruto was in the Lower Ring, keeping an eye out for anyone that looked like they knew about the underground or black market, to see if someone had sold or bought Appa.
As he looked around, he paused as he spotted some older looking guys, confronting Mai and Ty Lee, who had Azula with them, and she was dressed in an earth kingdom kimono.
"Didn't we already tell you losers that we're not interested?" Mai asked with a bored tone of voice.
"I think they are slow Mai," Azula said with a smug grin.
"Does that mean they aren't very smart? Should we speak slower so that they understand us better?" Ty Lee asked curiously.
This made the guys growl at this, while Azula snorted in laughter with Mai smiling slightly.
"You three bitches should watch your mouths, before you get -" one of them said threateningly, before he was cut off.
"Hey!" Naruto yelled, as he walked over getting their attention.
Ty Lee looked at Naruto and smiled brightly at this. "Naruto!" she yelled happily, before she cartwheeled over to Naruto, and hugged him.
"You know these girls' whiskers?" one of the guys asked with an annoyed tone.
"Yea, they are with me, so walk away. Trust me, they are dangerous when mad. And yes, even this one" Naruto said with a chuckle, as Ty Lee rubbed her cheek against his, while smiling happily.
One of the men scoffed at this, as he rolled his eyes. "Oh please, they don't look that -" he was saying, before Azula had a needle to his neck, while Mai had a dagger to the other guy's necks.
"Are you still feeling confident?" Azula asked with a glare at the man.
"…..no, we're good," the man said with a meek tone of voice.
Azula nodded at this, as she lowered the needle, with Mai doing the same.
The three men then ran off at this, definitely not interested in the three women anymore.
"Well, at least you didn't draw blood," Naruto said with a sigh of relief.
"And get my clothes all bloody? Please" Mai said, as she rolled her eyes at this, as she put her daggers away.
"What are you doing here?" Azula asked with a glare at Naruto.
"None of that princess. You're at a disadvantage in enemy territory, so how about a truce?" Naruto said, as he held up his hands in a peaceful manner, to show he meant no harm.
"Yea Azula, you promised to at least play nice" Ty Lee said with a pout.
"…..fine," Azula said after a moment of silence.
"Yay!" Ty Lee yelled out happily.
"So what are you ladies up to?" Naruto asked them curiously.
"We were trying to get some food for the week. But between those guys hitting on us constantly, and the low amount of funds we have, pickings are slim" Mai said as she sighed.
"I told you we should have taken those jobs at that tea place," Ty Lee said.
"There is no way I'm gonna serve tea," Azula said with an annoyed tone.
Naruto shook his head at this, before he took out a bag. "Here, this is some gold I got on credit from the Dai Li. Better you use it then them" he said, as he held it out to Azula.
Azula blinked in surprise at this, before she looked at Naruto with a light glare. "What's your game whiskers?" she asked him.
"No game princess. I just want to help you. Plus, you look hungry" Naruto said with a kind smile at Azula.
Azula looked at Naruto with a suspicious look. "….fine, but I'm watching you whiskers" she said with a frown at him.
"A pretty girl watching me, so it's a normal day," Naruto said with a teasing grin at Azula.
Ty Lee giggled at this, as Mai lightly smirked while Azula glared lightly at Naruto.
"Ok, I know a good place to get some food. Follow me ladies" Naruto said, as he smiled and walked off, with the three ladies following him.
Soon, Naruto led the three ladies in front of a noodle stand.
"A noodle stand?" Mai asked, looking at Naruto with a raised eyebrow.
"You bet. They make a dish that is practically like this dish I loved growing up. I'm glad they took my advice on how to prepare it," Naruto said with a smile, as he approached the stand/
"What's it called?" Ty Lee asked curiously, as she was more than willing to try almost anything.
"Ramen, and there are all kinds of different types," Naruto said, as he sat at the stand along with Ty Lee, who took a menu to look over.
"Well, if you're paying," Mai said with a shrug, as she sat down too.
"Of course I am. After all, a gentleman always pays for a ladies meal" Naruto said with a smile.
"Must be expensive for you, if what you said during our fight is true" Azula said, as she sat down next to Naruto, so she could keep an eye on him.
"To be fair, it's not just my fault. Will insisted on it too" Naruto said with a sheepish grin.
"Yea, and I bet you liked being a sweet talker with me, and Mai had nothing to do with it either" Ty Lee said with a knowing smile.
"Heh, maybe" Naruto said, chuckling at this as he couldn't deny that.
After they had all made their orders and got their food, they all started to eat.
"Wow, this is great!" Ty Lee said with wide eyes, as she tasted the ramen.
"Yea. Normally noodles are bland, but this actually has flavor" Mai said, as she nodded in agreement.
Naruto smiled and nodded in agreement, before he looked at Azula with a raised eyebrow. "Well, what do you think of it?" he asked her.
"….it's adequate" Azula said with a simple tone, before she went back to eating.
"That's high praise from Azula," Mai said with a monotone, while Ty Lee nodded in agreement.
Naruto smiled at this, glad he was making some kind of progress with Azula.

(Later)
Naruto and the girls were now walking out in some fields that had what looked like a zoo, with high walls and deep pits to keep the animals safe.
"So this is what all the fuss was about the other day?" Mai asked, as she looked down at a family of Rabaroo's.
"They are so cute!" Ty Lee said with a bright smile, looking at the baby Rabaroo's.
"Why would the Avatar waste time on something like this?" Azula asked, looking around at the zoo with a confused look on her face
"The zookeeper wasn't getting enough money to keep his old zoo going, which meant no customers, and that also meant the animals weren't getting enough food and water or clean areas" Naruto explained.
"I figured that. I mean, why waste time with this, when he should be focusing on the war" Azula said, as she rolled her eyes.
"Making people happy is a waste of time?" Naruto asked curiously, as he raised an eyebrow at Azula.
"When there is a war to win, yes" Azula said with a low tone.
"This kind of thing is why the whole world hates your nation," Naruto said with his own low tone, so that no one nearby could hear him.
Ty Lee heard this, and turned to look at them. "Hey, let's get out of here and go see your other girls. I wanna meet them" she said, hoping to distract them.
Naruto nodded at this. "No problem. I know where Will and the girls are today" he said, as he led them away from the zoo.
"Good save" Mai whispered to Ty Lee, as they both followed Naruto and Azula out of the zoo, and back into Ba Sing Sae.

(With the girls)
Will, Yue and Toph were hanging out in a park in the Upper Ring of the city, where thankfully, it wasn't as stuffy as the rest of the city.
At the moment, Toph was asleep in the shade of a tree, while Will was playing Pai Sho with Yue at a table nearby…..
"I win again" Yue said with a wide grin, as she moved her tile.
And losing badly.
"Gah! This game stinks!" Will yelled out in frustration, as she threw her arms in the air.
"Ugh, isn't that the twelfth time you have lost, sparky?" Toph asked with a groan, as she woke up from her nap.
"Fuck you, it was only the seventh!" Will yelled looking at Toph.
"Calm down Will. Pai Sho is not an easy game to master" Yue said, trying to calm her friend down.
Will growled in frustration at this, as she felt stupid for not getting this game.
"Before you lose it and burn the park down, whiskers is approaching and he's got company" Toph said, pointing at the entrance to the park.
Yue and Will looked at the entrance, smiling when they saw Naruto, Ty Lee and Mai, but paused and frowned when they saw Azula too.
"Relax girls, we agreed to a ceasefire for now" Naruto said, as he approached them.
"Well, if you're sure," Yue said, nodding at Naruto.
"Well, at least we can finally talk to Ty Lee, right? I loved your show at the circus" Will said with a smile at Ty Lee.
Ty Lee smiled back at Will at this, before she quickly pulled her into a hug, surprising Will.
"Yea careful, she's a hugger" Mai said with a dry tone.
"And I'm guessing you're the dry witty one? Good, we need that in this harem" Toph said with a smirk at Mai.
"So, does that mean Azula is the leader, since she's the prin - ?" Ty Lee asked curiously, before Naruto covered her mouth.
"Ex nay on that" Naruto said, as he looked around the area.
"Relax, the Dai Li aren't watching us currently babe" Toph said, as she waved her hands dismissively.
"Dai Li?" Azula asked curiously.
"Earth Bending unit and attack dogs of the guy running things for the Earth King" Yue said, keeping things simple.
"And if anyone is the leader of the harem, it's me" Will said with a look at Azula.
"We will see," Azula said with her own look at Will.
"Oh ho, so you do want in" Mai said with a raised eyebrow, while she lightly smirked.
Azula spluttered at this, with her face blushing bright red.
"Ha! I like this one! She's got a sharp tongue, and the perky one has an athletic bod from what I can feel. She could make whiskers actually have to try, just on her own" Toph said with a grin, as she smiled at Mai before she jerked a thumb at Ty Lee.
"Ooooooo, he's active huh?" Ty Lee asked curiously, before she started to giggle mischievously.
"Well, he keeps us three happy, and keeps going after we're spent," Yue said with a chuckle at Ty Lee's excitement.
"Well, I'm sure that the three of us could help tire him out," Ty Lee said with a wide smile, as she went and hugged Azula and Mai.
"Let's get to know each other a bit first," Naruto said with a chuckle at this.
The girls all nodded in agreement at this, as they all sat down and talked.

(With Kurama)
Kurama was in Zuko and Iroh's apartment, watching as Iroh was making a fuss about Zuko getting ready for a date, since he was asked on a date by some girl at his job today.
"Uncle, do you really need to do my hair like this?" Zuko asked, as Iroh was flattening his hair.
["Yea. If he looks like he's trying too hard, it might scare her off"] Kurama said with a snicker.
"Shouldn't you be going back to the others soon?" Zuko asked with an annoyed look on his face.
["Don't say that. You know you like having me as a wingman"] Kurama said, as he jumped onto Zuko's shoulder, ready to go.
"Yea, about that" Zuko said, as he grabbed Kurama from the back of his neck, and dropped him on the floor.
["Oi! What's the deal?!"] Kurama yelled out, as Zuko headed for the door.
"I am not gonna go on a date and have you there making a spectacle of yourself, and making rude comments" Zuko said as he left.
["Bah, fine. I don't need to go with him to have a good time"] Kurama said, as he scratched his ear, disinterested.
"Good. Maybe you can go out and look for Appa instead" Iroh said, as he knew Kurama's nose was good.
["Hmmm, good point old man"] Kurama said, before he jumped onto the window frame, and jumped out the window and into the city.

(Later)
Kurama was making his way across the rooftops, and paused as his ears twitched, hearing a whistle.
["Aang? This late at night?"] Kurama thought, as he ran off towards where he heard the whistle coming from.
As he ran across the rooftops, he soon heard a familiar groan and looked up at the sky, and smiled as he saw a familiar air bison.
["There's my fluffy buddy!"] Kurama yelled, as he saw Appa land in a big alleyway, which he made his way to.
When he made it, however, he saw Appa being confronted by Long Feng, and some Dai Li agents.
This caused Kurama's fur to go on end and his eyes to slit. But before he could react, he was struck in the back of the head from behind with a fist made of stone.
This sent him flying into the alleyway and landing at Appa's feet, before Long Feng stomped his feet and moved his arms, causing the floor to flip and Appa and Kurama to fall, leaving a footprint that Appa made and some of his and Kurama's fur behind, as Long Feng and the Dai Li agents left the area.

(A few days later)
Sokka was on the floor, drawing on a piece of paper, with other pieces of paper around him, each with different drawings, as Naruto, Will and Yue were sitting on a long couch, while Momo was eating some fruit.
Aang and Katara then entered the house, and ran over.
"We found a printer to make our posters," Katara said with a smile, as Aang held up a poster with Appa on it, with some info on it along with a picture of Aang.
Sokka sat up at this, as he looked at the poster with a raised eyebrow. "Hey, I thought that designing the lost Appa posters was my job. I've been working all day on my Appa" he said with a smile, as he held up the drawing he was just working on….which looked nothing like Appa.
Katara snorted in laughter at this, while Aang had a raised eyebrow and a look of disbelief at what he was seeing. "Sokka, the arrow is supposed to be on Appa's head," he said.
"This is his head," Sokka said, as he looked at the drawing, while pointing at it.
"Why are there feet coming out of it?" Katara asked curiously, as she took the drawing to get a closer look.
"Those are his horns," Sokka said, as he snatched the drawing from her. "I haven't seen him in a while, okay" he said, as he looked down in the dumps.
"It looks just like him to me" Toph said with a smile from her spot lying on the floor.
This made Sokka look at Toph with a wide grin. "Thank you. I worked really -" he was saying, before he realized who he was speaking to. "Why do you feel the need to do that?" he asked with a frown.
"Cause you keep falling for it, dude" Naruto said from his seat next to Will.
"Yea, I stopped falling for it in the desert" Will said, as she shook her head at this.
"While I stopped falling for it sometime after that" Yue said, nodding her head.
Sokka grumbled at this, as he looked down in defeat.
"Look, let's just spread our fliers around the city, and hope we get some information," Aang said, as he held out the fliers.
"Sounds good to me" Naruto said, as he grabbed his glider, ready to go.
Everyone got up and followed the two Airbenders out of the house, ready to get to work.
P.O.M and Kfbainme87 were both relaxing in their office, when, just like a bad rash reappearing….
Oh come on, that's offensive! Deadpool yelled, as he entered the office
