Ch 17 The Chaldean Life
Peering out of the window of the Chaldean Van, Harry saw the bustling Parisian City. Many People were out and about in the City,
The young Boy smiles at the many People living life. He then turns his head, noting that everyone is busy with something he doesn't understand.
Harry looks at Mandricardo, resting his head on the window. Thinking that the Rider might be like Midoriko and Onee-san, he proceeds to speak with him. "Um, Uncle Manny?" He called out to the Adventurer.
Mandricardo didn't respond, Harry could hear mumbling coming from his mouth. He could barely hear what he said but he got a majority of it.
"(Man, to think master is busy discussing the mission to even entertain the Kid…)" Mandricardo spoke to himself, getting sweaty from just sitting next to him. "(I have to think of something to entertain the Kid.)"
"Uncle Manny?" The Adventurer flinched, hearing Harry's voice calling him. Mandricardo turns to the young master, answering his call.
"Y-Yes, y-young master?" Mandricardo asked before mentally scolding himself. 'Damnit, why did I call him young master? I should've been calling him by his given name!'
Mandricardo shook his head before returning his attention to Harry. "I-Is there something you need?" He asked, clearing his throat.
Harry nodded, looking back at his busy Parents and their Advisors. "I'm just curious about where we're going." He asked his Uncle. "Is it the French Branch I heard of from Mommy and Daddy?" He asked.
"Ah, I guess there's no reason to hide it then," Mandricardo commented before answering the young master's question. "Yes, we're stopping by at the French Branch to get supplies from director Delecour before heading out again." The Adventurer informed the black-haired Wizard.
"Going out again?" Harry tilted his head, still confused about what was happening.
Da Vinci pops her head from the back seat, listening in to the conversation. "I can answer that!" The Loli interjected.
"Da Vinci," Mandricardo frowns, about to answer the Kid.
"Sorry, Manny." Da Vinci winks at her master's Best Friend before looking at Harry. "Anyway, all you need to know is that we're going Camping!"
"Eh?"
Outskirts of Paris
Wyverns roared in pain before fleeing from the scene, returning to their nests. "That's the last one that got out!" An armored man with a violet cape and indigo hair with a white streak informed his team.
"Ah, very good Sigurd. I too scare away the Wyverns who flew above us." A beautiful Woman with white long hair and a giant Lance floated down from the sky said to her Husband. "Things are relatively hectic for the past week since we got here, Sigurd."
The Dragon Slayer nodded, holding his Demonic Sword in his hand. "Yes, I can understand why Lady Jeanne requested reinforcements from Chaldea," Sigurd commented. "Normally based on director Delacour's report, Wyverns aren't supposed to stray away from the nest. However they did,"
Brynhildr sighs, holding her Lancer. "Must be something's happening in the nesting grounds." The Valkyrie suggested before turning to their Camp. "By now, master would be here so we can quell this year's Wyvern Mating Season."
Sigurd's glasses gleam in the sunlight, approaching his Wife from behind. "Since it's mating season, we can also participate in-GAK!"
Brynhildr squeals, jabbing Sigurd in the abdomen at the end of her Lance. "Darling, don't say those things!" The Lancer blushed furiously, not realizing she just hurt her Husband.
"Hmm? Oi! You lovebirds, if you're done with your section then you should head back!" A black-haired man with a mole on his face waves at the two. "We got to prepare for master's arrival." Diarmuid Ua Duibhne (Saber) informed the two Norse Servants.
Sigurd held his thumb up, hearing the Saber Servant. "R-Roger…" He weakly said as both he and Brynhildr return to the Campsite with Diarmuid.
Paris,
A Chaldean Van arrived at a large Building, unlike the Japanese Branch, this one was taller and more Modern. They circled around the fountain, stopping near the front entrance.
Harry immediately hops out of the Van, staring up at the large Building before him. "Woah, it's taller than the Japanese Branch and British Branch." He commented, trying to see the top of the Building.
Moriarty caught the young master before he stumbled back. "Indeed, Mr. Fujimaru. This here is the French Branch, a very important Base for the Association and Chaldea." The Ruler explains to the young Boy.
"Why's that, Professor?" Harry looks at his Tutor.
"Easy, it's a Base where-GAK!" Moriarty felt a tiny kick from the back of his legs, prompting him to bounce away.
Da Vinci pouts at Moriarty for almost spilling what the French Branch was for. Harry watched as his Father's Technical Advisor shoo the Ruler away, "So sorry about that, Harry-kun. The Professor was about to say something that his Father and Mother should tell you."
Harry blinks at the Rider, not sure what she is hiding. "Um, okay."
Soon a few People exited the Building, prompting Harry to look at them. The one leading them was a man with dark brown hair and a mustache in a business suit.
Next to him was a blonde Woman wearing a bright purple dress and a hat with a veil.
"Ah, Lord and Lady Fujimaru! It'z been a while zince we've spoken in person!" The Man greeted the director of Chaldea and his Wife.
Then the Man took note of the young Boy next to the Technical Head. "And what do we have here? Zis your Son you've adopted, director?" He looks at the Magus, smiling at the thing these two wanted the most.
Ritsuka and Mashu smiled, the Magus placed his hand on his Son's shoulders and proudly spoke. "Yep, this is Harry Fujimaru. Both Mashu and I's pride and joy." He smiles.
"How wonderful! You two always zaid you've wanted a Child of your own." Apolline cheerfully smiles at the three, clapping her hands together.
Harry shyly hid behind his Parents' legs, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the new People.
"Awe, dear look. Zee young Boy is shy." Apolline coos, finding that adorable. "How adorable!" The Witch gleefully said.
Monsieur patted his Wife's shoulders, taking note they were a bit too forward in their introduction. "My dear, I zink zat we're overwhelming him." The director of the French Branch of Chaldea informed his Wife.
Apolline flinched, realizing that Harry might not be used to meeting new People yet. "Oh my goodness!" She turns to Harry, apologizing to him. "I'm very sorry. I didn't realize zat I was overwhelming you."
Harry shook his head, taking a deep breath before speaking. "I-It's alright, it's nice to meet you two." He bravely spoke, trying to get over his shyness.
The blonde Woman smiles at the heir of Chaldea, "Well, it'z very nice to meet you too, Mr. Fujimaru." Apolline replied at the young Boy's greeting.
Ritsuka patted his Son's shoulders, gaining his attention. "Harry, this here is Monsieur Delcour and his Wife, Apolline. They both run Chaldea's French Branch along with some other things."
"Like what?" Harry asked innocently, curious about what other thing his Father mentioned.
Ritsuka reached out his hand, ruffling the young one's hair. "I'll tell you soon enough, Hars. For now, let's head inside." He said, trying to figure out how to tell his Son about what they do.
"Oui, zis way everyone and director. Zomeone is waiting for you from zee team in the outskirts." Monsieur informed his Boss,
The Magus nodded, "Right, I think I know who it is, Monsieur." He replied, entering the sliding doors of the French Branch. "Can you prepare a transport for us? I'd like to get to the Campsite before tomorrow."
Monsieur nodded, understanding what the director was asking. "Oui, Apolline my dear, tell zee staff to prepare the transport for our director."
The group enters the large Building, revealing a Lobby similar to the ones in Skyscrapers. Like all Chaldean Branches, the Lobby was white with many terminals for the Staff to use.
Plants were placed to give a comfortable atmosphere for the Staff after a hard day's work. Stairs leading to the elevator surround a large door that led to the garage. Of course where a Chaldean Base will have its Logo plastered on both the balcony of the stairs and the floor.
"Oui, of course." The blonde Woman left for the garage, informing the Engineers He then turns to Mashu, wanting them to get settled in while handling this.
"Mashu, why don't you take Harry to the rooms and get settled? This is a boring part for this little guy." Harry blinks at his Father, now getting curious about what this was about.
"Of course, Harry-kun. Come with me, please." The former Demi-Servant signals their Son to follow him.
After walking for a good minute or so, Harry and Mashu went to the third floor where all the bedrooms were. The floor was like the hallways of a Hotel, with many rooms for the many Staff who work overnight.
Harry was in a room with his Mother; the room itself was something to behold. It was large enough to be a small apartment. There was a small kitchen area for those who likes home cooking, a small dining area, a work desk, and beds for them.
The young Boy sat on the bed, watching some cartoons that Mashu put on for him while unpacking. Suddenly a knock caught Harry's attention, prompting him to turn to his Mother, "Mommy, there's someone at the door."
Mashu looks up, hearing her Son informing her of the door. "I'll get it, Harry-kun." The former Demi-Servant approached the door, opening it to reveal two Girls on the other side.
"Bonjour Mademoiselle Mashu!" The Girls greeted the violet-haired Woman with a cheery face.
"Fleur-chan, Gabrielle-chan, what a surprise to see you again." Mashu greeted the two Delcour Sisters, "And I told you two to call me just Mashu."
Harry pops his head out, seeing two Girls at the door. One was like two years older than him and the other younger,
He then flinched, seeing the two blonde Girls noticing him at the foot of the bed.
"Mashu, who iz zis?" Fleur asked the former Demi-Servant, curious who this Boy was.
Gabrielle peaks over to Harry, seeing the young Boy. "He looks like Monsieur Ritsuka! Iz he your fils?" The young Witch asked,
Mashu turns to Harry, motioning for him over to meet the Daughters of the Branch director.
Harry quickly went to his Mother's side, holding onto her hand. "Harry-kun, this here is Fleur and Gabrielle Delacour. They're the Daughters of Monsieur and Apolline Delacour." Mashu introduced the Girls to the young Boy.
"H-Hello, my name's Harry…" Harry greeted the two blondes, feeling a bit nervous.
The Girls smile, greeting the heir of Chaldea. "Bonjour Harry! It'z nice to meet you!" Fleur greeted, approaching Harry first. "My name iz Fleur, zis here is Gabrielle, she's my Sister."
Gabrielle got a good look at Harry, blushing at the sight of him. "B-Bonjour…" She smiles shyly.
Mashu and Fleur took notice of Gabrielle developing a little crush on the young black-haired Boy. They both giggled, seeing things will be interesting further on.
In another part of the French Branch, Monsieur was debriefing Ritsuka on the current state near the Wyvern nest. "Zee Servants zat you sent are repelling Wyverns back to their nest. If this continues then we would be able to prevent any of them going into zee Towns and Villages." The Branch director reported to the Magus. "However, more of them keep replacing zhose zee Servants repel. Most likely zere's an outside element causing zee problem."
"I figured as much…that's why I'm heading there to investigate the situation," Ritsuka said, wanting to get to the bottom of this.
"And you're sure it's only that and not introducing Harry-kun to our life, Fujimaru?" Loli Da Vinci asked the master of Chaldea.
Ritsuka looks at the Rider, answering her question. "Harry has seen many Servants by now. Mainly those who don't look like Humans, so I decided to tell him once we're at the Camp." The Magus stated.
Da Vinci was skeptical of letting someone like Harry know what Chaldea is like. It's not that she dislikes him, it's just his age and his little knowledge of Magecraft; let alone Magic. She turns to Holmes, being the one who usually sees things a few steps ahead.
"What do you think, Holmes? Do you think this might be the right time to introduce Harry to our circle?" Da Vinci asked the Detective next to them.
Everyone looks at Holmes, pondering on the thought of telling Harry the truth and introducing him to the World of Magecraft and what it means to be the Son of Chaldea. "Mr. Fuji-forgive me, Harry Fujimaru has seen many things from the British Branch and the Japanese Branch."
"He has seen Beast I/L; Camazotz, Habetrot, Oberon, Morgan, Ibaraki, Shuten-Douji, and Xiang Yu." Holmes listed the Servants who aren't of Human origins. "Who can say that the others might come and make an appearance before Harry?"
"So what you're saying is, Holmes. That the little tike has a keen eye and that he'll start asking questions?" Koyanskaya commented, assuming based on what the Ruler said.
"I say that we tell him, first the simple parts of what we Servants are and our purpose here," Moriarty explains, sharing his thoughts at the meeting. "I've spent some time with him as his tutor. Right now we're in the middle of the Age of Gods; excluding the Mesoamerican and Greeks. So he can handle the basics until I reveal about the two." The former Apostle stated.
Monsieur nodded, looking at the Chaldean master. "Seems like a reasonable proposal to me. Monsieur Fujimaru?" He looks at the director, waiting for his approval.
Ritsuka opens his eyes, looking at the Staff and Servants. "Remind me of the Servants at the Camp." He asked.
"Many of them are from Human Legends; Sigurd, Charlemagne, Jeanne, and so on." Da Vinci answered his master, seeing his lips curl up.
"Alright, seems like we're settled on this." Ritsuka stood up from his seat, happy with the plan they devised. "Starting tomorrow, Harry will learn what's Chaldea's about." He looks at Da Vinci once more, wanting her to prepare something. "And Da Vinci, prepare the Ortinax. The Outskirts is really dangerous for a Human, especially for a Child like Harry."
Da Vinci chuckled, knowing this might happen. "It's ready for Mashu as we speak. All you need is to set it up at the tents and she's ready to go."
Ritsuka nodded, satisfied with the end results.
Japan. Fuyuki
"I can't believe you were hiding that you have a Family. Not only that but you had them since you were Thirteen!" A light brown-haired man with green eyes growls at a shaggy-haired man. "That's a lot of-no, not a lot, very, VERY! Irresponsible of you!"
Sirius glares at his Best Friend, scolding him for something he had done a long time ago. "Look, you know very well that my Family is something else. Besides, you can't blame me when you're on the run from your Family." He reasons with his fellow Marauder.
Remus Lupin looks away from Sirius, ashamed to question him after what he's been through. "I-I'm sorry. After what Dumbledore gave you a chance to explain and told us you were framed; I started to regret that you were the traitor." He apologized to his Friend. "I felt guilty believing that you-"
"Forget about it, James and Lily didn't tell anyone of you of the change," Sirius stated, not blaming him for believing him to be the Secret Keeper.
The Werewolf sigh, thinking about their dead Friends and how would they react to this. "To think that you became a Father before James, only if he could see you now," Remus said, still unable to believe that Sirius Fathered a Child with someone.
"And he'll say, Padfoot you dog." Sirius chuckles, missing their Friend a lot.
Remus shook his head, changing to the subject of their conversation. "S-So, what kind of Girl is she to even have sex with her? Is she Pureblood?" The Werewolf asked, curious what kind of Girl Sirius has knocked up when he was young.
Sirius chuckles, feeling a bit embarrassed to say it. But too much of his dismay, he can't lie to his Best Friend. "Her name is Akari Fujimaru, soon to be Black when the time comes." He informed his fellow Wizard. "And no, she's not a Pureblood or a Witch. She's just a Muggle, but she is special." He smiles.
"Well, whatever she is; she manages to tame you and makes you a bit mature," Remus said as they approach an apartment complex. "Also, I'm curious about your Kid. Can you tell me about him?" He asked.
"My Son? Well for starters, his name is Ritsuka, named after Akari's Father who passed away when I met her." Sirius explains, walking up the steps of the apartment. "He has messy black hair, probably got it from his Grandfather; blue eyes like Akari, and a playful personality."
Sirius sighs, remembering the time he spent with his Family. "I've spent at least a few years with them after I dropped out of Hogwarts and ran from my Family. I wanted to be with them, a Family that isn't related to the Blacks and doesn't share their point of view."
Remus's eyes widen, realizing that was why he suddenly left Hogwarts. "I see, well truth be told your Family isn't one on affection." He commented as they came up to a door, assumed to be the Fujimaru Family's home. The Werewolf noticed that Sirius was shaking a bit, "Something wrong, Sirius?"
The shaggy-haired man gulped, his hand shakingly raised to the door, and was about to knock. "I-I'm a bit nervous." Sirius chuckles, knowing how long it's been since he last saw them. "It's been years since I've seen or heard from them. I'm not sure if they want me back."
"Don't be nervous. You'll never find out if they want you back if you don't suck up." Remus gave Sirius a little push, supporting him to be brave. "You're a Gryffindor! The House of the Brave, now be brave!"
"Fine!" Sirius swiftly knocks on the door, hearing some shuffling from the inside.
Soon the door opened, revealing an elderly Woman not related to the Fujimarus or associated with them. "Yes? How can I help you?" She asked in Japanese.
"(Shoot, the language barrier, I don't thi-)"
"Hi, yes, I'm looking for Akari and Ritsuka Fujimaru? Are you some friend they met or a relative?" Sirius asked in fluent Japanese about his Son and his Girlfriend.
Remus was shocked to see Sirius speaking fluently in Japanese. He has a lot to catch up on his Best Friend's life after all these years.
The elderly Woman frowns upon hearing those names. "I'm sorry, but the Fujimarus don't live here anymore." She informed the two Men, taking note of Sirius's distraught face. "The last I heard is that dear Akari-san has early onset Alzheimer's disease recently."
"WHAT!?" Sirius exclaims, never once would think Akari would develop a disease at her Age. "What about Ritsuka? Where is he?" He asked where his Son was.
"Ritsuka, yes, the young Man is taking care of his Mother. He had to drop out of school and get a Job to pay for his Mother's treatment." The elderly Woman sighs, feeling sorry for the young Man. "It's fortunate that Ritsuka manages to have someone take Akari-san to a good hospital. I swear that Boy is doing his best to keep everyone from suffering. He even lends me their Apartment since he found somewhere else to live."
Sirius deflates, seeing that his Family could be anywhere by now. "Do you know where they are right now?" He asked, wanting more information.
"Ah, yes, Akari-san is at the nearby Hospital. I can give you the address." The elderly Woman smiles, writing down the address where Akari was.
"Thank you," Sirius smiles, receiving the Hospital's address where Akari is staying. He looks at Remus, happy to know they at least have a clue where they can find at least one of his Family members.
Remus didn't understand what these two People were saying, however, he could tell it was serious. "So? What is it?"
Sirius looks up at the Werewolf, walking to the stairs. "I'll explain on the way, we got someone to meet!" He said as they went to the Hospital.
Arriving at the Hospital ad informing Remus of what's happening. They went to the Reception desk, "Can you direct me to Akari Fujimaru?" Sirius asked, not going for his Japanese.
"Oh, you must be not from here. Right, she's on the Third floor, room Three o two." The Nurse informed them, pointing to the elevators.
"Thanks," Sirius and Remus went to the elevators, pressing the button to the Third Floor.
Remus looks at his Friend, seeing the panicked expression on his face. "Sirius, calm down, you can't let Akari see you like this."
Sirius nodded, taking deep breaths and calming down from his panic. "Y-Yeah…sorry, I'm just so worked up after hearing Akari is in the Hospital and that Ritsuka is off somewhere doing…doing whatever the hell he's doing to pay for the Hospital bills." He slams his fist on the elevator's wall, cursing himself for not being there. "Damnit, only if I hadn't gone after Peter then this would've happened!"
"Hey, don't beat yourself over this! You didn't know that your Girlfriend would have a disease that might be life-threatening!" Remus scolds his fellow Marauder, not expecting him to prevent anything. "It's not your fault!"
The elevator arrived at the Third floor, opening its doors and showing the two Wizards. "Now, are you calm?" Remus asked the Animagus, seeing him nod in response.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm calm." Sirius gave a loud sigh, releasing his stress from all that was happening.
"Then let's go and mee Akari. I'm sure she'll hate and love you when you show yourself after explaining what happened." Remus smiles, making his Friend better.
"Right," Sirius looks up as both he and Remus step forward into the Third Floor.
The two enters the Floor where Akari was staying, and suddenly two pieces of Paper appeared before them. "W-WHA-GAH!" Both Wizards were bound by them.
"W-What is t-this!?" Sirius exclaims, feeling a dark force trapping them.
Remus struggles, which was a surprise considering he was a Werewolf. "I-I don't know! I-I never-GAH! It hurts!" The Werewolf felt the strange Paper restraints tightening around his body.
"Hmmm…now this is interesting. Two Wizards trespassing on Mundane territory," A voice filled with malice and depravity spoke out, "Master would have a field day when he learns about this."
"W-Who are you?" Sirius demanded, looking around for the owner of the voice came from. "We demand you let us go!"
Remus searches around, only to see a shadow morphing into the open. His Wolf instincts were going haywire at the mere sight of this man.
He has white and black hair split in the middle of his head, a pale complexion, sharp green claws, and wore like an Onmyoji. However, that wasn't the most terrifying part of him. No, it's that wicked smile and Dark Aura that screams Dark Arts.
"A-A Death Eater-no, you're a Dark Wizard!" Sirius exclaims, seeing this Man reeks of Evil. "What does the Dark Lord want with Akari!? What did you do to-"
Remus turns to his Marauder Friend, stopping him from getting themselves killed. "Sirius, stop! You'll get us killed!" He hissed before hearing the Man chuckle.
"Oh? You believe that I might kill you?" The Man said, approaching the two Wizards. "True that your Kind can't compare yourselves to us, Servants. But it all comes to our master,"
The Servant approached Sirius, lifting his chin with his claw. "As for your other question, I am Alter Ego. Now, let me ask you, Wizard, why have you two crawled out of that dingy Alley of yo-"
"Alter Ego, that's enough." Ashyia Doman removes his claw, upon hearing a familiar voice. He promptly turns around, greeting his fellow Servant to the meeting. "Ah, Lady Akuta, I have apprehended these Wizards. They seem to be British base on their accent,"
Both Sirius and Remus looked up, seeing a Woman wearing a modern white trench coat with her hair in twin tails. With one sniff from Remus, his eyes widened with fear. "A-A Vampire!? No, a True Ancestor!?" The Werewolf panicked, "What are you doing here in a place where Muggles go for heal-no, unless this place is a blood bank for you!?" He assumes, based on the Legends he heard from the Forbidden Books at Hogwarts.
The shaggy-haired Man growls at Hinako, hearing that she's a Vampire and the Man over there is a Dark Wizard. "Grrr…what does the Dark Lord's lackey doing here? Does he have Followers here in Japan too!?"
"SIRIUS!" Remus growls, trying to stop him.
Ashyia chuckles, placing his claws on his chin. "Mmmm…seems like these Wizards think we serve that crybaby. What should we do, Lady Hinako? Call master back to Japan?" The Alter Ego asked the Elemental.
Hinako sighed, out of all days that her Kouhai left, Wizards have to show up. "No, I'll call Kouhai and tell them we're bringing some trespassers to where he is. Now that they know we're not Human it's best to keep them as Prisoners for the time being." The Branch director glares at both Wizards, taking note that one of them is a Werewolf. "And be sure to place a Talisman on this one. He's a Lycanthrope."
"Oh? A Lycanthrope, now that's something I haven't seen for a long time." Ashyia draws his attention to Remus. "Very well, one inhibitor Talisman coming up!" The Onmyoji took out another Talisman and tossed it on Remus's head.
Remus flinched upon feeling the Talisman attach itself to his head. He could feel his Magic and something else draining, "Gah, I-I feel weak all of a sudden…" He stated.
Sirius glares at the two before hearing Akari from the room Hinako came from. "Oh? You're leaving already?" She asked,
"Yes, I got a sudden Job to do, Lady Fujimaru. I'll be gone for a while," Hinako smiles at the Human in the room. "Don't worry, Assassin will be here soon to take care of you."
"A-Assassin!? NO DON'T YOU DAR-AKARI!" Sirius screams but his voice falls silent due to the Talisman,
Hinako turns to Ashyia, ready to depart to the Estate. "Let's get going,"
The two left the Hospital with the two Wizards in tow. Sirius shuts his eyes, never getting the chance to see Akari or Ritsuka again.
