For her younger years I will base Skarlet off her skins in MK11 where her hair is shoulder length with bangs minus the eyeliner and red lipstick. Her voice actress is also Polish so I will base her superstitions off of Poland's so if there are any errors with that do not hesitate to let me know.
Chapter 3: Culture Shock
Naruto and Skarlet were seen exiting the hospital's main doors and began walking toward the apartment that Tsunade had gotten for the girl. A few hours ago she was given a fresh set of clothes from Shizune which consisted of a simple red t-shirt with red pants and red ninja sandals as a small gift from Tsunade so she at least had something covering her. Today was a bit nerve wracking for Skarlet since after filling out the registration form she was given a date where she would head to the academy and perform the necessary test for ninja applicants and if she passes she will be gifted with a Konoha headband and officially become a kunoichi for the most powerful village among the great nations. The nerve wracking feeling was mainly in part of her being self taught even though she did attend blood's academy she didn't really learn properly.
Her nervous visage did not go unnoticed by the blonde so Naruto placed a hand on her shoulder for reassurance.
''Nervous about the test?'' he asked.
''Yes, I'm self taught so I don't know if it would be as good as someone who's properly trained and educated like you.'' Skarlet replied.
''Hey I'm sure you'll do just fine! It wasn't that hard when I took the test...''
Naruto thought back to when he had to take the tests to graduate and while he did manage to pass he only did it because he had clones henge into various objects in the classroom and when they dispelled he retained the information they gathered and while he did not feel good about cheating like that he felt it was necessary and hey they thought him that ninja must use any means to obtain information right? So he guessed it wasn't all that bad in the end if it worked out except since then Sasuke has been on his behind about how he better not consistently cheat his way throughout life because he won't get far.
The two youngsters continued walking through the village's streets and Skarlet was having a rather difficult time adjusting to the warm and welcoming vibe the village was giving since she wasn't used to it and the kimonos people dressed in was very foreign to her since villagers back in Chi wore simple clothing. The friendly attitude the villagers had with each other and the happiness in their greetings was a huge culture shock to her. She saw vendors selling food she had never seen before compared to the constant pork and venison she had eaten back in Chi it was really strange to her.
''What a strange culture.'' she thought.
Just then a person walked purposely into Naruto and hearing the angry voice she turned in the direction the blonde was in and saw him having a verbal exchange with an older villager.
''Watch where you're going monster.'' spat the elderly man.
''How about you watch where you're going you old coot?'' Naruto replied.
''I've been living in this village for over forty years I know a monster when I see one.''
''Oh? You've been living here forty years that means you'll be dead soon.'' Naruto said with a roll of his eyes.
The comment only served to irritate the older man and he stormed off having nothing to reply back to Naruto's snarky remark and Skarlet was taken by surprise at how cruel and rude Naruto's words were so she had questions to ask him.
''What was that? That was not a very nice thing to say to an elderly man Naruto.'' Skarlet said.
''Ah I don't care. The younger generation of the village put up with my crap. The older ones don't bother me either but ones like him tick me off so as long as I shut them up I'm good.'' Naruto said with a shrug.
''But why did he call you a monster? You seem normal to me.''
Naruto let out a small chuckle as he was reminded about why he was hated in his childhood and he turned to give Skarlet a confident smile. She closed her eyes and sensed his blood to read his emotions and saw that there was a bit of sadness under the happy exterior he was displaying.
He gave her a thumbs up.
''Let's just say I'm one of a kind.'' he declared.
She could feel that Naruto was made uncomfortable with the topic and decided to drop it.
''I see, I mean we are like apparently.''
The two walked more and after about thirty minutes they finally arrived at a small apartment complex where her new apartment that was paid for by the Hokage and put under Team 7 until Skarlet had enough money to pay for the rent herself. Skarlet looked the building up and down and noticed the buildings in Konoha had a much different exterior design than the ones in Chi. The buildings there were not much bigger than a two story house and most families lived in small one family houses and the academy itself wasn't very impressive even though it was the largest building in Chi. The design of the building with its bright paint sent a feeling of shock and awe in the girl and she marveled at it until Naruto's voice snapped her out of her daze.
''Hey Skarlet you good? We're here!''
Hearing his voice she shook her head slightly getting out of her daze and she looked at the blonde and saw him standing there with an eyebrow raised. She then pointed upward at the building.
''This is where I will live?''
''Heck yeah c'mon! Your apartment is the nicest one on the top floor so let's get going and get you settled in.'' Naruto said motioning for the girl to follow him.
The two teens entered the lobby to see the landlord sitting at his desk reading a book and walking up to the man Naruto cleared his throat to get the man's attention. Setting his book down the middle-aged man saw Naruto standing before him and was confused why that prankster kid was standing in front of him in his building. He already had an apartment unless he was thinking of renting in his place.
''Oh it's you Naruto. What is it?'' he asked.
''Did the Hokage bring any word to you about the top apartment being rented out to a guest? This red-haired girl behind me is gonna be living on the top floor.'' Naruto answered pointing backward toward Skarlet.
The landlord looked over Naruto's shoulder and saw Skarlet who waved shyly at him.
''You're this Skarlet girl the Hokage got the apartment for correct? That's a very foreign name I've never heard anything like it.'' said the man.
''Yes I get that a lot.''
Shrugging the man reached into his cabinet and took out a pair of keys and handed it to Naruto who in turn gave them to Skarlet.
''You're one lucky young lady to get the Hokage to vouch for you. On your way now.''
The man went back to reading his book and the two teens made their way up to the top floor and when they entered the hallway they saw a single door down it and assumed that it was Skarlet's new apartment. It was quite obvious since no other doors were in the area so they made their way to the end of the hallway in front of the door and Skarlet took her key but before she unlocked it she looked at Naruto.
''What's up?''
''It might be a trap...''
Naruto stifled a laugh and only patted the girl on the back and she sweatdropped at this. What was so funny?
''What are you laughing about?'' she asked slightly annoyed.
Naruto ceased his laughing and wiped a tear that was beginning to fall out of his eye and after laughing it off for a few more minutes he finally relaxed.
''What do you mean it might be a trap? There's no way granny Tsunade would set you up like that!'' he chuckled.
Skarlet knew Naruto was right and almost took her dagger from its sheath and stabbed herself with it for thinking something so pessimistic especially after the way she was treated by the Hokage. She felt like she couldn't blame herself for thinking it though since there were various traps the villagers in Chi had set up for her to end her existence. She felt a bit unnerved and cautious when she went to unlock the door but Naruto's warm and calming persona helped ease her nerves.
''It would be pretty silly that she would do that after how kind she was to me. Don't tell her I said that please?''
''Oh she wouldn't take offense to it Skarlet she'd have a laugh about it too. Now c'mon open up!''
Complying Skarlet took her key and unlocked the door, turning the knob she then opened the door slowly and when the door opened fully she was greeted to an average sized and nice looking living room. Naruto walked in first and after looked around to see that Tsunade had taken to time to have Shizune paint the walls a crimson red color and liked the look. He turned to face Skarlet and motioned for her to come in.
''Well? Come in!''
Skarlet slowly took a step through the door way and saw that the walls were her favorite color of course being red. Any shade was her favorite and she had a feeling it was thanks to the Hokage.
''What a lovely looking place. Compared to Chi's houses which are very run down and dilapidated. I feel welcomed and I know I will enjoy living here.'' she said.
''Chi really sounds miserable as hell from what you've told us. Konoha has some of the nicest places in the great nations with the highest quality of life! Sure my apartment is cheap but it's fairly nice and enough for me. I personally just care about having a roof over my head.'' Naruto quipped.
Naruto noticed that Skarlet was rather quiet and looking in her direction he was about to say something but saw that she was admiring the apartment and he knew that this was the first time she was inside a place this nice so he decided to just let her do her thing and admire the place until she was done.
Skarlet took a moment to marvel over the beautiful interior and saw that much like the walls her furniture in the living room came in various shades of red. She made her way over to the coffee table in the middle of the living room and saw a single vase with red roses in it and she found the flowers beautiful. She then noticed a nice flat screen TV at the end of the living room and wondered what kind of films were produced in the great nations and she hoped they weren't full of unnecessary violence like the ones back in Chi. She had heard of a movie star from Yuki No Kuni and hoped that Naruto can purchase some of those films for her since she was very interested. She then made her way over to the kitchen and opened to fridge to see it already had food stored neatly in it from meat and produce and she made a mental note to thank Tsunade the next time she saw her. She could try her hand on making cuisine from Chi and let Naruto try it out since he got her some ramen which was something she had never eaten before. Perhaps she can make him some meat rolls as a thank you for giving her food when she first woke up. Leaving the kitchen she then made her way toward the opposite end of the apartment where she suspected the bathroom and her bedroom to be and first she entered the bathroom and turned the light on. She was greeted to a dark red shower curtain and had a few red towels placed neatly on the table near it.
''I shouldn't be surprised they already know my favorite color is red.''
Turning the bathroom like off she then made her way down the small hallway and saw a small doorway next to the bathroom and peeked in it to see a laundry room. It had a single window and had the dryer and laundry machine placed neatly against each other.
''At least I get to wash clothes properly and not use a stream.'' Skarlet said.
''You washed your clothes in a stream!?'' exclaimed the blonde.
Skarlet had a slightly annoyed look in her face and rolled her eyes at Naruto's comment.
''Yes, I am an orphan Naruto.'' she replied with a tic mark on her head.
''Oh yeah...my bad.'' Naruto said apologetically while scratching the back of his head.
Skarlet couldn't stay angry at the blonde and knew he didn't mean anything by it so she gave him a small smile.
''It is not a problem.''
The girl then made her way to the end of the hallway and saw the door at the end of it and assumed that it was the bedroom of her place so she opened the door and saw that Tsunade had actually gotten her a queen sized bed and she was relieved she can actually sleep in a real one instead of the dirt or some makeshift cot in a cave and what do you know? Her sheets were all red and she couldn't help but smile at how obvious her favorite color was. Honestly if she had the choice she wouldn't make everything red since black was a color that blended well with it whenever she had her own money she'd buy some a few black bedsheets and clothing to add some change to her attire.
''Woah you have a nice looking bedroom! Looks a lot better than mine since there's color.'' Naruto quipped.
''I like it. Back in Chi all I had was the dirt or a makeshift cot in some cave.'' Skarlet said, ''I am going to take a shower Naruto before you give me a tour of the village so do you mind waiting in the living room?''
''Sure no problem take your time.''
Naruto then left the room and went to crash on the couch leaving Skarlet alone in her room. Walking over to the dresser she opened it and saw what do you know an arrangement of clothing coming in different shades of red. Reaching for a shirt and pants she walked out of the room and went into the bathroom. Closing the door behind her Skarlet walked over to the shower and turned it on and the sound of the running water made her feel at ease and made her calm. For the first time in a long time she would be able to take a proper shower and properly clean herself. Sure bathing in a stream was relaxing itself but it was still out in public and she did not like that as privacy was prime for a female. She spent half an hour enjoying the feeling of the warm water before finally getting out and got herself dressed for the day. She went to put her dirty clothes away and went back into the living room to see Naruto napping on the couch and saw the position he was in. His wide open mouth and half his body being on the couch while the other half slouching onto the floor amused her.
She walked over to the blonde and prodded him awake.
''Hey, wake up.''
''Huh? What?''
''You were going to give me a tour of the village before you take me to the academy?''
''Oh that's right let's go!''
The babbling blonde got up from the couch and ran out the door much to Skarlet's amusement as she had never seen a person move this fast before so she followed him out the door but as she stepped into the doorway and stood there. As he was taking off Naruto turned the corner to head down the stairs and before he could begin to go down he noticed Skarlet wasn't behind him which confused him.
''Where is she?''
He made his way back around the corner and saw Skarlet just standing there at the doorway and the two of them locked eyes for about ten seconds before Skarlet stepped out of the doorway and proceeded to close and lock it behind her making him even more confused than he was before. He watched as the crimson haired girl walked up to him and he tilted his head confused.
''What?'' she asked.
''Why were you just standing in the doorway for about ten seconds?'' questioned the blonde.
Now she understood why he was looking at her like that and remembered that their villages were far away from each other and concluded that their cultures were vastly different. Do people in Konoha not stand in their doorway for ten seconds before leaving?
''We have superstitions in Chi. One for example is if we leave our house we stand in the doorway for ten seconds. If you forget something you would have to wait ten seconds again when you go back in and when you leave again guess what? You wait ten seconds again.'' Skarlet explained.
Naruto was even more confused than he was before when he saw her standing in the doorway. What a tedious superstition!
''Huh?''
The face he had on and the tone in his voice slightly annoyed Skarlet as she felt he was judging her culture so she decided to ask him what some of the superstitions are in Konoha.
''Are you judging my culture?'' she questioned in irritation.
''Oh no I'm not! I was just caught off guard is all.'' the blonde said holding his hands up defensively.
She wasn't really upset or irritated with him but she still thought it would be good revenge to poke fun at Konona's superstitions.
''Okay good. Now what kind of superstitions do you have in Konoha?''
''Uh, well we have one so ridiculous you'll just laugh at it but I don't feel like telling.''
Skarlet took a step closer to Naruto and glared right into his soul. The look she had scared the ever living Uzumaki out of him and he knew he had no choice but to concede.
''Oh crap uh..so one Konoha superstition we have is if we rest after we eat we turn into a pig, a cow or an elephant.''
The girl was not expecting a superstition like that and she backed up with a very confused look on her face and a few seconds would pass before she started to smile a little but immediately went back to having a straight face.
''I assume you have rested up plenty?''
''Uh, yeah I always rest after I eat.''
''Then why aren't you any of those animals yet? You seem like a really lazy person.
''Ah well, they're just superstitions it's not like I'm actually gonna turn into an animal.'' Naruto said with a shrug.
Skarlet had to shake her head in amusement at how carefree the blonde was when it came to superstitions and she wasn't going to make someone believe in the superstitions of their village because that was their choice. To her people had the right to believe what they wanted just as she had a strong belief in the superstitions of Chi despite how she was treated in that village.
''Alright if you say so Naruto. Just remember one day you might end up turning into any of those animals and if you do I'll keep you locked in a cage.'' she joked.
Naruto narrowed his eyes at the girl.
''That's messed up.''
Although she enjoyed the brief joking with the blonde boy she had to get him back on topic and remembered that today was the day she was going to head to the academy to take the exam. If she passes she'll be registered as a kunoichi for Konoha.
''We're getting off topic Naruto. Weren't you going to take me to the academy and give me a tour of the village while we head over there?''
''Oh right!'' Naruto then grabbed Skarlet by her hand and took off full speed. ''Let's go!''
''Hey slow down!''
-Streets of Konoha-
''Wow, this village is a lot larger than I expected it to be.'' Skarlet said in awe.
They were walking to the ninja academy for her exam but since it would be some time to walk since the village was so large Naruto thought it would be a good idea to give the foreign girl a brief tour of his village until they got there. Skarlet herself wanted to get the exam over with but agreed to Naruto's tour since it would help her be familiar with the layout, streets and landmarks in the village since this was basically going to be her new home. When she wasn't being chased in Chi she would actually take the time to steal books from the library and read up on the great nations and she did find the history intriguing. Sunagakure looked way too hot for her as she disliked the heat while Kiri looked a little cooler but she wasn't a fan of the 'Blood Mist' reputation it had conjured up since it was found. Kumo she didn't seem to be fond of because of its high altitude and that meant it would be cold and disliked the cold more than the heat. Iwa she already had a dislike toward due to the reputation it got from the previous wars and how much of warmongers all the Tsuchikage were she knew she would be treated like dirt. Finally, she read about Konoha and was impressed with how booming the economy was and how the village recovered quickly from all three previous wars and she was intrigued by the power of the Hokage. She had read about the Senju brothers, the third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi and the fourth Hokage whose name she could not remember. What got her attention most was how friendly and welcoming the village was to any foreigner but when she ran from Chi she was a bit skeptic at first but was happy to know it was true based on the way Naruto and company treated her.
''This village is so lively, I am glad I came here. I still haven't sensed any hostility in Naruto's blood either so this may indeed be my real home.''
''And over here we have the greatest eatery selling the greatest dish to ever grace the world!'' Naruto said pointing toward a small building, ''This is Ichiraku Ramen the Kami's gift to me!''
His booming voice snapped her out of her thoughts and she set her sight on the building the blonde was pointing at. It was a small building about the size of two sheds and she immediately caught a whiff of the ramen that was being prepped by the chef.
''It smells delicious. So this is what you gave me when I woke up?'' Skarlet questioned.
''Yep! Ramen is the best food ever and Ichiraku's makes the best in the universe!'' declared the blonde.
''Maybe after the exam you can give me a taste of Konoha's finest cuisine?''
The two teenagers then continued walking toward the academy and that's when Skarlet caught the glorious sight of something she had never seen before. Looking off into the distance on the side of a mountain were the faces of five figures. It was the Hokage monument that she had read about and she did not expect it to be so pleasant to look at. She scanned each individual faces and assumed they were in order from the first to the current Hokage Tsunade and Skarlet marveled at how the monument of Tsunade was so well done it looked exactly like the sannin down to the features.
''How do you carve the faces of the Hokage into the mountain?''
''Honestly I have no clue and I would never have a job like that because you're too dang high from the ground. Whoever it is they got guts.''
Skarlet looked at each Hokage's face once more and when she reached the fourth she took a minute to take in his features. She then turned her head to look at Naruto before looking at the fourth again.
''You know you look like the fourth Hokage.'' Skarlet complimented.
Naruto smiled big at the compliment and scratched his head nervously.
''Ah shucks I get that a lot Skarlet but thanks. Did you know he's the greatest hero Konoha has ever seen?''
''Oh really? Why is that?''
''Well to be honest it's quite a long story but he saved the village when it needed him most. You don't mind if I explain another time do you?'' Naruto asked nervously.
Skarlet saw the nervousness in his voice and felt it was the right thing to stop talking about the topic right then in there so she gave the blonde a nod. He nor the others have asked what made her one of a kind so she would not ask Naruto about it due to his reaction.
''That's okay you can tell me whenever.'' she said.
''Of course, same thing to you.''
-Ninja Academy-
After another ten minutes of walking the duo finally arrived at the entrance to the academy and much like the size of the village Skarlet was amazed at how large the building was. It had several school yards where she assumed the students would train in spars and if she had to count how many floors made up the building she would've guessed at least five or six. It was no wonder Konoha had the largest amount of ninja compared to the other villages combined because over a thousand students would graduate every year and another thousand would begin their journey at the same time. Naruto and Skarlet walked up to the main entrance of the academy and the blonde opened the door and help it open for her much to her surprise.
''Oh I did not know you could be a gentleman.'' Skarlet teased.
''I try.'' Naruto chuckled.
Naruto then entered after she walked in and they saw a single person sitting at the desk at the end of the room where visitors and students would check in before heading to their class and the person behind the desk was someone who, aside from Sasuke helped him when he struggled in the academy.
''Hey Iruka-sensei!''
Iruka heard the sound of that familiar booming voice and looked up to see someone he considered a little brother.
''Oh hello Naruto what are you doing here? It's a weekend isn't it and you're not even a student here anymore.'' Iruka said.
''Yeah I know but I came here to get someone checked in. Did granny mention anything to you that someone was going to take the exam for anyone who wishes to transfer to Konoha to be a ninja?'' Naruto asked.
Iruka immediately knew what Naruto was talking about and looked at the red-haired girl behind the blonde and saw Skarlet waving at him nervously. He wasn't one to judge and already knowing the story from Shizune, Tsunade and Kakashi he knew Naruto would have good judgement in people so he saw no reason to distrust the girl since he himself lost his parents when he was their age.
So the Chunin looked at traffic sheet and saw a note from Tsunade to expect the red-haired girl to show up for the transfer exam this morning.
''Skarlet Ketsueki?''
''Yes, that's me.''
Naruto looked at Skarlet with a raised eyebrow as he was caught off guard by her last name much like he was by her smooth and regal voice.
''Ketsueki? That's your last name?'' he questioned.
''Well yes, that was the name I was given apparently. Do you have a problem with foreign names?'' Skarlet asked slightly annoyed.
Naruto held his hands up defensively.
''Oh no I don't mean it like that! I was just caught off guard but I think it suits your first name!''
Iruka rolled his eyes at Naruto's way with words and had to jump in to help his little brother out.
''Don't mind him Skarlet I think your name is rather unique. You learn something new every day right Naruto?''
Naruto nodded and looked at Skarlet hoping she wasn't mad at him for not thinking before he speaks and she saw she just had her usual stoic expression plastered on her face.
''I'm just kidding with you Naruto I'm not upset.'' she said.
''I mean I do say some stupid stuff I'll acknowledge that.''
''Alright you two settle down. So Skarlet I've set your test up in room ten down the hallway there so come on. Also, please don't pull any pranks on me or destroy my classroom like Naruto did.'' Iruka joked.
''Hey!''
''What? You almost tore the room down with one of your pranks...''
''You know what never mind!''
Naruto and Skarlet followed Iruka and when they reached the door he stopped to give her some pep talk before taking the test as Iruka entered the room.
''Alright Skarlet this test shouldn't be too hard. I'm sure you'll be ask general questions about being a ninja so don't think too much about it. If I can pass it you can too!''
''Excuse me mister? You struggled a lot with anything that was written.'' Iruka said with a slight glare, ''Whenever you're ready Skarlet I'll be waiting to admininster your test.''
''Hey!''
Naruto couldn't say anything to Iruka as he already walked into the classroom leaving the two alone in the hallway.
''I'll be fine Naruto I told you I picked up knowledge on my own back in Chi. Usually it's the self taught children who do best than those who are properly trained. Hard work beats natural talent as they say right?''
Naruto couldn't agree more there because he was in the same boat as he had to work hard to pass the academy's graduation exam while kids like Sasuke was born with natural talent and didn't have to work hard to graduate. That was another thing he and the girl had in common which was why they seemed to get along just fine.
''You're right on that! Anyway head on inside and I'll see you in a few hours kay?'' he then raised a fist into the air toward Skarlet, ''Fist me!''
An awkward silence filled the room and Skarlet did nothing but stare at his fist before looking right at his face saw that huge grin of his plastering his face and she was a bit speechless at what he just said. A minute would pass before Naruto realized what he said and before he could say anything Skarlet gave him a fist bump like he wanted.
Skarlet turned around and proceeded to walk into the classroom but before she closed the door she turned and looked at him one more time.
''I will do just fine.''
She then closed the door and Naruto had no other choice but to vacate the area and find Sasuke to go hangout...that's if he wanted to of course.
Skarlet walked over to the only desk in the class that had a test booklet on it and took a seat and then looked at Iruka who was eyeing her the entire time from when she entered to when she sat down.
''Good morning Skarlet. I'm Iruka Umino and I will be your Chunin instructor for this exam. How are you feeling today?''
''I'm fine, thank you for asking.'' Skarlet replied.
''Very good. So the Hokage as notified me of your plight and I'm very sorry to hear all that happened to you. Don't worry we in Konoha are very respectful to people from the outside and this exam is basically what we give to anyone who wishes to transfer to Konoha. It will be an exam that will test your general knowledge of being a shinobi and since you're from a smaller, far away nation it still has its own shinobi system so I'm sure you will pass. Should you pass this exam Lady Tsunade will enter you in our system and you will be registered as a kunoichi for this village and will begin a new journey with us. The test is not difficult but it is required that all that take it answer the questions in order. If you do that your chances of succeeding are higher. Should you answer them out of order you are more likely to fail. If you don't have any questions you may begin.''
Skarlet nodded, took the pencil and looked at her paper and saw that it was not in multiple choice format. Instead she had to explain how she got her answer to each individual question and knew doing that this would take a while. Not to mention there were over a hundred questions so she had a feeling she'd finish by the next morning.
''First question...''
-Konoha Library-
Sasuke and Kakashi were in the local library digging through many books from the world history section with a huge pile of books on the table they were sitting at. They were specifically ordered by Tsunade that they dig up information of Chi No Kuni to see if they can at least learn anything about the village. From what Kakashi learned during the last war was that shinobi from Iwa encountered shinobi from a rather small and unknown nation which he now assumed to be Chi but an incident that happened between the villages resulted in Iwa withdrawing from the dispute and leaving Chi's borders alone and not wanting anything to do with them because of what Iwa shinobi saw when they entered blood village. Ame, Kusa and Yumi were all fairly small nations compared to the great nations but from the map one of the books provided Chi's borders were incredibly small and the distance between it and Iwa were immense and to think Skarlet managed to cover that amount of distance and get within fire country in a week was impressive to the Jonin.
''This girl managed to travel such a great distance in such a short amount of time proves to me that she is skilled in survival and evasion. She's no stranger to these shinobi tactics.'' Kakashi thought.
''I'm not really digging any useful information up. It's just repeating the same thing over and over again saying it's far away from the great nations with the closest to it being Iwa. Even then Iwa is still pretty far from it. If I recall it isn't relatively known to the great nations.'' Sasuke said with irritation.
''I'd say it's time to give up because we looked through every book in this section so I doubt we'll find any useful information about that village. It's getting pretty tedious with the info the books are giving out so let's call it a day and go get something to eat.'' Kakashi suggested.
Just then the two heard a series of footsteps approaching their table and they looked up to see Naruto walking over to them with that signature grin on his face.
''Hey guys I was told you'd be here.'' the blonde whispered.
''I think it's too late for you to join us. We've dug through every book in the world history section we came up with nothing. All we got was it is unknown to most people and did not get involved in international affairs so I guess that explains why there's not much information on it. Maybe we can ask Skarlet.'' Sasuke said.
That comment served to annoy Naruto since he remembered that reminding the girl about Chi since she hated that place. In Naruto's opinion if there wasn't a lot of info to learn on Chi why even bother?
''I don't think we should talk to her about it Sasuke. She hates that place more than I hate not eating ramen.'' said the blonde.
Kakashi nodded in agreement with Naruto's statement.
''I think we should wait until she feels ready to talk about it. Kids your age going through that kind of trauma it doesn't do good at all to talk about it until you feel you are ready.'' explained the Jonin.
''Yeah you guys are right. My bad.'' Sasuke said apologetically.
Kakashi then looked at the clock on the wall and saw that it was only nine in the morning and since Skarlet is taking the transfer test it would take her at least until noon to finish so maybe they can spend another hour looking through the books again to see if they can actually find info on Chi...that's if they wanted.
''So Skarlet is taking her test now Naruto. What do you guys say we just go train for a bit before we head to the academy and check on her?''
''Sounds good to me I'm sick of reading books for one day.'' Sasuke chuckled.
Naruto then helps the other two put the books back together before heading out for a few hours of training. There was no way the blonde would want to read books so what better way to kill a few hours than train with his team?
-Ninja Academy, a few hours later-
Skarlet was seen jotting down her answers to the final question on the test and while it wasn't too hot in the room she had a slight sweat visible on her forehead and she was incredibly focused on the answer as she did not hesitate in explaining how she got her answer. For the past few hours she managed to breeze through the first set of questions but when she got further and further she realized the questions only got harder from there and while she did not have trouble with most of them it still gave her a challenge but she was confident she found the correct answers for all of them as she knew she was a rather intelligent girl for her age. She finishes writing down her answer to the final question she sets her pencil down and takes a deep breath in.
Iruka had noticed that the sounds of pencil on paper stopped and looking up from his book he saw that Skarlet had finished.
''Are you all done?'' he questioned.
''Yes I am.'' Skralet replied.
''Very good. Please bring your test paper here and I'll grade it.''
Skarlet did what she was instructed to do and getting up from her table she walked over and handed her test to the Chunin instructor and she watched hopefully as he began to grade the test. The facial expression he had on was rather neutral and this made her a bit nervous but she was very confident she'd pass. She saw Iruka nodding several times as he checked each answer she gave and his expression changed the further he got.
''I see, very good.'' Iruka said under his breath.
-Ninja Academy Entrance-
''I wonder if Skarlet is done with her test now.''' Naruto said.
''I'm sure she'll do a lot better than you on the graduation test.'' Sasuke joked.
''Hey!''
Naruto and Sasuke immediately began to wrestle with each other and Kakashi could do nothing but just look at the two boys with a huge sweatdrop. He knew the two boys got along well but when they bickered it turned into a wrestling match neither of them would win and while he would usually intervene he decided to just let them sort it out on his own.
''Ah good times. Reminds me of when he and I would bicker.'' Kakashi thought as he read his book.
The three males would not notice a figure was leaving the main entrance of the ninja academy and when the unknown figure stepped out she was greeted by the sight of Naruto and Sasuke wrestling on the ground.
''Urgh! I'll make you eat those words!'' Naruto growled.
''As if you can dobe.'' Sasuke said as he put Naruto in a chokehold.
The revealed Skarlet could only look at the sight before her and she just watched the two wrestle for a good five minutes before she finally cleared her throat to get everyoe's attention. Hearing the voice Kakashi looked up from his book and noticed the girl and called out to the blonde.
''Yo Naruto look.''
Naruto and Sasuke halted their wrestling and looked up to see Skarlet standing there staring at them like they were idiots and the blonde got up immediately and dusted his clothes off to look presentable followed by Sasuke.
''Oh hey Skarlet! How'd the test go?''
Kakashi, Sasuke and Naruto just looked at Skarlet who didn't even verbally answer the latter's question. Instead she gave him a smile and raised both her hands and tied something to her forehead and when she finished the three of them saw what it was.
It was a Konoha headband.
