Silver-eyed Demon!
Worthless brat!
Time for the hunt to begin!
Wanna come with me?
Don't look, just run!
So pitiful…
For my Goddess!
I can't die here. I need power… MORE POWER!
*Gasp!* My eyes snap open as I take in a large amount of oxygen. I look around exasperated as I am surrounded by trees. "I feel like shit…" I look down to find not only me wearing a different outfit, but one that has been completely shredded and covered in blood. "What the fuck…?" I reach out and touch one of the bloody areas and notice that the blood is still somewhat fresh. "What happened to me…?"
*POP*

[Congratulations on your first ever reincarnation into your second life!]
"Huh…?" I grab my head. "Who are you?"
[I am the A.I. that was integrated into your Gamer System before you reincarnated. It's very nice to meet you, sir!]
"Oh right, that voice did mention something like that." I try to stand but quickly collapse from a sudden dizzy spell. "What happened to me?"
[You were bleeding out on the side of the tree. Luckily, your Regeneration kicked in at the last minute and saved your life]
"Is that why I'm feeling so dizzy?" I asked. "So, how did I die exactly?." I take another look at my ruined clothes. The large claw marks on my chest indicate that I was attacked. "Oh..." I try to recollect any memories of what happened but find nothing. "Why can't I remember anything?"
[Simple, because those memories don't belong to you. You don't remember anything because those events never really happened to you]
"I… guess that makes sense. Still, I'd like a brief summary of who I was before I 'awakened'." I said with my arms crossed.
[Long story short, you're an orphan. You were adopted but shortly after your foster mother was murdered. Since then, you've traveled from town to town until you enrolled into Haven and on a mission you and your team were killed by Grimm]
"What were their names?" I asked.
[Don't know, don't care. They were just extras that existed to fill in those roles]
"... what was his name?"
[Does it really matter to you?]
"... no, it doesn't." While a part of me did want to know, it wouldn't change the fact that I am me and not that person. Though, it will be pretty awkward if I run into people that know him.
"Huh. You know, I just noticed that despite learning about my own death and being in another world, I am not freaking out like you'd normally do in this situation." I remarked.
[That's due to the passive effect of Gamer's Mind. It will curb your anxiety along with other emotions in order to think clearly]
"Is that why I'm so weirdly calm? Oh well, it doesn't matter." I ravage through my pockets only to find two things: some kind of plastic card and a white device though it seems to be broken.
[Why don't you try using your Observe skill on them?]
"[Observe]" I said.
Lien
Description: A plastic card with a black magnetic reader strip on the back and a small notation on the front used for making purchases among others. It functions just like a debit/credit card. Currently holds 8,000 Lien.
Scroll
Rarity: E
Description: An object that functions as a collapsible, holographic tablet. It can be used as a phone, a portable computer, a camera and a streaming device as well as a gaming controller, among other functions. This one is broken.
You have gained 8,000 Credits!
So this is a scroll, I can understand where the name comes from and the card is basically the upgrade of paper currency. This is the one detail that I could never wrap my head around: Remnant is so advanced in many ways but also primitive in others. Like they have holographic phones, androids with souls, airships that anyone can use for travel, and eco-friendly fuel. Yet for some reason, they use such an antiquated and vulnerable system like the Cross Continental Transmit System like, seriously, if one tower goes down then the whole system goes down. Then there's the fact that they haven't attempted to create ships that can reach heights of 10,000 feet because Dust doesn't work in the stratosphere or something like that, so they just gave up on that.
"It surprises me how backwards this world is." I remarked before a new screen appeared in front of me.
Quest Alert!
Quest: All-Seeing Eye
Look around and get accustomed to your new surroundings.
Objective: Level up Observe to Level 20
Rewards: 800 EXP, 2000 Credits
[I thought you'd like to start off with something simple, to ease you in on your new lifestyle. Just look at random things in the forest to get started]
"That sounds boring." I comment. "Is there any way to skip it?"
[Nope!]
"God dammit…" I let out a sigh as I let go of the tree, finally getting over my dizziness, and start walking. "Well, let's get this over with."

I continue the thread through the forest in the hopes of finding an exit, when a weird sound catches my attention. I follow the sound and I begin to notice traces of blood on the ground and some of the trees before walking up to a clearing and witness a sight that some would find grotesque.
It was a man, or rather what's left of him. His body has been torn apart, missing both of his arms and half of his face, and his chest cavity was opening revealing all of his vital organs. The most jarring part is the pair of dog ears on top of his head.
But he is not alone.
Next to the body is what can only be described as a mass of black fur with bone-like spikes protruding from its arms, back, and knees. Its back is turned, but I can hear it chewing on something. Suddenly, the creature spits something in my direction as it lands on my face. When I look down, I see that it was, in fact, a finger that it threw away.
This monster was eating the man's arm!
I begin to quickly freak out but something forces me to calm down. I recognize the creature and activate my [Observe] skill.
Name: Beowulf
Level: 4
HP: 20
SP: 9
"So that's Beowulf, huh? They're a lot more hairier in real life than in the show." I silently remarked. 'I need to get away. I can't fight a Grimm without a weapon.' I slowly make my way back when...
*SNAP!*
I step on a tree branch by accident, small but very noisy, causing the beast's body to twitch at the sound. The monster's head slowly turns and sees me, its face is covered in a bone-like mask with red markings resembling a wolf as well as its hands and feet are also tipped with long, sharp, white claws. Those beady red eyes stare at me screaming bloody murder and it slowly walks towards me. I instinctively step back as the fear begins to take over.
I'm going to die…
I'm going to die here….
'I'm going to die, I'm going to die, I'm going to die, I'm going to die, I'm going to die, I'M GOING TO DIE!'
At that moment, [Gamer's Mind] kicks in again and my fear disappears leaving the monster perplexed as it can no longer sense my negativity. However, that doesn't stop the monster as it jumps, extending its claws in order to rip me to shreds.
My body suddenly goes on auto pilot and dodge rolls the incoming attack.
"Huh?" I blink at the suddenly action I performed. "W-How did I do that?"
However, I don't have time to contemplate these thoughts as the Grimm runs towards me and I quickly make a run for it.
"Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit!" I scream out before I immediately calm down again. 'I can't keep running like this. If this guy was a Huntsman-in-Training then his weapon must be around here somewhere.'
The Beowulf leaps upwards and descends down on me, its sharp claws piercing through my skin like nothing.

HP: 743?/800
"Damnit, get off me!" I grab the Grimm by its head and push it back. The Beowulf sees this and tries to use its full weight to crush me, but Ipush it back. I continue pushing until I get back up and kick in the chest, sending it towards a nearby tree and leaving a print of my shoe on its chest.
The Grimm's body disintegrates into nothing but black dust.
You have killed a Beowulf! You have gained 30 EXP! You have earned 20 Credits!

A giggle escapes my lips before it evolves into laughter. "I did it! I actually survived! Hahahaha!" A relaxing feeling washes over me and I instantly calm down. "Well, at least I'm out of danger for now. I still need to find something to defend myself."
As I walk through the thick forest, I notice something in the distance and run towards it. When I arrived, all I found was the corpse that Beowulf was eating too long ago. Which means only one thing…
"I've been running in circles!?" I exclaimed as a green aura envelops me and I calm down. "Now's not the time to get frustrated." I kneel in front of the body. "Maybe the corpse has something I can use." I use my skill on it.
Name: ?
Title: None
Level: 13
Affiliation: White Fang
Race: Faunus (Dog)
HP: 0
MP: 0
SP: 0
AP: 0
Semblance: n/a
Thoughts about you: none since he's dead
"So this guy was to be part of the White Fang, huh? I'm not really that surprised." I know that humans aren't kind to Faunus though saying "kind" is an understatement. Humanity treats Faunus like a disease, even the ones that rose to high positions like a Huntsman only get their scorn. I'm honestly disgusted and disappointed that humans can't see beyond the difference, I mean who cares if you have an extra pair of ears or even a tail; a person is still a person.
Then again, I'm not really into politics so what do I know? I'm just a simple man who likes simple things.
[If he was a Huntsman then that means he must have a weapon. Check his body]
Reluctantly, I reach for the body to check for some kind of weapon. [Gamer's Mind] kicks in as I begin the search; I can't believe I'm actually looting a man's corpse.
"This guy got nothing." I sigh. "It's a dead end."
[Maybe if you follow the trail, it'll lead you to a clue to the exit]
I look left and see a trail of broken trees and blood, "looks I have no other choice." I stand up and follow the trail. After a couple of minutes, I end in a large clearing with two bodies in the group bleeding. The state of the bodies is so grotesque that they're completely unrecognizable.
Pool of Dried Blood
A pool of blood made by two unknown people, left unrecognizable by whatever attacked them.
I feel my stomach at the abominable sight that you'd only find in horror films before [Gamer's Mind] curbs the urge to throw up. Around the bodies are the remains of what appear to be weapons though what stands out the most is the intact western-styled sword in the center of it all.
[Iron Sword] Rank: E

I pick it up and examine it. "There's signs of use but aside from that, there's nothing wrong with it. It's almost like one of those tutorials, when the player finds a weapon-"
*GRRR*
"-enemies will appear." I look behind me.
Stepping out from the bushes are two Beowulfs along with three boar-like Grimm with four eyes and a bone-like mask that seems to be strapped to its face by a black vein-like organic tether.

"I hate it when I'm right." I sigh before regaining my vigor. "Welp! Guess I have no other choice." I smile and take a stance. "Let's dance!"
The Boarbatusks make their move and charge towards me before rolling into balls and spin forward. I leap forward and dash towards the Beowulfs, raising my sword to strike it down. However, as I was about to deliver the blow, the monster feinted and used its claws to slash my back.

Thank god, [Gamer's Body] doesn't let me feel the pain completely, otherwise I would be screaming in agony by now.
-20 HP

I slowly got up and saw that it's the Boarbatusk that tackled me.
"Not yet..." The Grimm waste no time to charge in again. "I refuse to be beaten here!"

Through sheer willpower, I dash at the creatures as fast as I can ignoring the overwhelming pain in my legs. One of the Boarbatusks tries to tackle me, but instead I jump above it and use its head as a springboard and set my sights on the Beowulf. Raising my sword, I put all of my strength into a downward strike and managed to cleave the monster in two. Not wasting a second, I charge at the second Beowulf who attempts to use its arm to block my attack but the sword runs through its arm and into the beast's face killing it.

The other two Grimm charge in without hesitation, however, they didn't expect their opponent to grab one of their tusks and use them to hit the other. The two Grimm tumble around, and I waste no time to run each of them through their stomachs.

At the same time, a corvid is seen perched on a tree branch before spreading its wings and flying off.
Sometime later - Evening
"I may have to set up camp for the night." I said.
[You know, you should give me a name]
I stop in my tracks at the sudden suggestion. "Why now all of a sudden?"
[Well, I don't want to be called "System" all the time. I have just as much of a personality as a normal human being. I don't want to be want to be known as just a thing]
"Okay… how about 'X'?" I suggested.
[You're not very good with names, are you?]
"It was the only thing that came to mind." I said.
[Like your character name? Who names themselves after a lord of hell? Kind of stroking your ego there, don't you think?]
"Hey, if you're going to complain then how about YOU come up with a name instead?" I huffed.
[Hm… how about Tobi?]
I blink a few times at the name. "Seriously, that's what you're going with? Naming yourself after an alias Obito used while in the Akatsuki?"
[It was either that or you're basic ass name]
You know what? I don't care anymore. "Fine."
[Fine what?]
"Fine… Tobi." I reluctantly said.
A series of giggles play out in my head. 'What have I done?'
I continue walking onwards into parts unknown, as my grand journey into another world begins now.
