Chapter:8 Reason to Be

A few weeks have passed since Team RABG's exercise with one another as they continued doing it while also focusing in their class more. Team RABG had just left the latest sparring class where an unfortunate Jaune got embarrassed yet again by the school's resident bully, Cardin Winchester.

"What do you think is wrong with Jaune? He hasn't improved since the last few weeks," Red asked Blue.

"I don't have an answer for that yet, but I would say that he needs to improve or he would fail his own team," Blue said as he has his arms crossed.

"Way to ruin the mood Mr. Serious," Green said with a frown.

"Maybe it's something personal for him," Yellow said as Blue frowns.

"If it is, he needs to let it go. He will not improve if he continues like this," Blue stated as the rest of the team thought of the blonde leader, solemnly.

Team RWBY, JNPR, and RABG are in the cafeteria eating their lunch. Jaune, however, was picking at his food with downcast look.

"Come on Jaune, you can do it another time," Red tried to assure his fellow leader by placing a hand on Jaune's back.

"Yeah, so stop mopping around. It's not a good attitude for a Huntsmen-in-Training," Green said as she took a bite of her sandwich.

"Look I'm fine," Jaune assured them but they didn't see it.

"No you're not," Pyrrha said, unconvinced.

"Guys, I'm fine. Seriously! Look!" Jaune said as he holds up a thumb while laughing nervously until his attention is focused on the members of Team CRDL, standing around a girl with brown rabbit ears jutting from her hair as Cardin laughs at her andone of his teammate holds up his hands to his head in a mock interpretation of her unusual features

"Jaune, Cardin's been picking on you since the first week of school!" Pyrrha pointed out to him.

"24/7 I might add," Blue said.

"Who? Cardin Winchester? Nah... He just likes to mess around! You know, practical jokes!"

"He's a bully," Ruby said as Jaune scoffs.

"Oh, please! Name one time he's 'bullied' me."

"Really?" Green asked him as they recalled everytime he was bullied.

Jaune is seen on the way to class as Cardin is going the other way down the hall. When the two pass, Cardin knocks his arm into Jaune and makes him drop his book, then continuing on his way with his hands out as if daring anyone to challenge him.

"Ah, come on!" Jaune whines in defeat.

Jaune and Cardin are about to pass through a doorway, but Cardin clicks on Jaune's sheath and extends it into its shield form as he's going out, causing him to run into his own defense and have it block the exit.

Jaune grunts in frustration as he tries to lift his shield back out, "Come on...!"

Glynda is in the locker room with several students, gesturing at the devices.

"Each of you will be assigned one rocket-propelled locker to store your weapons and extra armor. Additionally, your locker can be sent to a custom location based on a six-digit code," Glynda said.

Hearing this, Cardin looks at Jaune - standing between him and the only open locker in the room - and the cliché plays itself out as Cardin quickly pushes a shocked Jaune into the small dark space and closes the door on him, pressing random buttons on the pad right after that.

"What?! No, wait, wait! You've gotta get me out of here! Please! Don't! Don't! Don't do it!" Jaune pleaded.

It's too late to protest when the locker scrunches down and launches up with a burst of blue fire coming from its base. Cardin watches as the locker slowly soars across the sky.

"Ahhh, coooome oooooooon...!"

"Do we need to say more?" Green asked as everyone look at Jaune.

Jaune tries to laugh it off and said, "I didn't land far from the school!"

"Jaune, you know if you ever need help, you can just ask," Pyrrha said.

"It's what friends for," Yellow added.

"Ooooh!" Nora gets up from her seat with a no-entirely-sane grin on her face. "We'll break his legs!"

"Guys, really, it's fine! Besides, it's not like he's only a jerk to me; he's a jerk to everyone," Jaune said as they all looks over as the laughing grows louder, mixed in with cries of pain from the rabbit girl when one of her ears are tugged on by Cardin.

"Ow! That hurts!" The rabbit girl said in pain from how her rabbit ears are pulled. She stops struggling and grimaces. "Please, stop..."

Cardin laugh as he then faced his cronies and said, "I told you it was real!"

"What a freak!" One of his teammates, Russel, said as he and the rest kept laughing.

Red felt his blood boiling with what he saw, his fists clenching in anger as he just wants to stand up and pummel them, he thought about it as his body went autopilot, but he felt a hand on his shoulder and saw Blue looking at him.

"You'll get your chance but not today," Blue said to his friend. "Just control yourself till it is."

Red let out a growl as he reluctantly went back to his seat with his arms crossed. The three teams talk about how sickening it was while Jaune just let out a sigh as he gets up with his tray table in shame.

Unbeknownst to them, Cardin has a sinister grin on his face.

The three teams were in their next class as their Professor on the subject was quick in mind, literally.

"Yes! Yes, prior to the Faunus Rights Revolution- more popularly known as the Faunus War-" Their Professor zooming in fronts of the class then to the map covered with papers behind his desk. "-humankind was quite, quite adamant about centralizing Faunus population in Menagerie."

Their Professor then points at the map of said-area with his stick, then zooms off to the side for a sip of his coffee before appearing in front of the desk.

"Now! While this must feel like ancient history to many of you, it is imperative to remember that these are relatively recent events! Why, the repercussions of the uprising can still be seen to this day!"

He then zooms around the classroom more, sipping his coffee again before continuing to zoom and talk again.

"Now! Have any among you been subjugated or discriminated because of your Faunus heritage?"

Some of the students raised their hand, especially the rabbit girl.

"Sheesh," Red said as he looked around to see many raised their hands. Unbeknownst to them, Yellow meanwhile look down as she has her hands between her legs.

"Dreadful, simply dreadful! Remember, students, it is precisely this kind of ignorance that breeds violence!" Their Professor then took another sip of his coffee. "I mean, I mean, I mean just look at what happened to White Fang! Now, which one of you young scholars can tell me what many theorize to be the turning point in the third year of the War?"

Weiss raised her hand.

"Yes?"

"The battle at Fort Castle," Weiss answered.

"Precisely! And, who can tell me the advantage the Faunus had over General Lagune's forces?"

Cardin was about to flick a paper football at the sleeping Jaune but Blue, who was sitting beside the blonde, caught it as he halfway look at Cardin and glares at the bully. Cardin just scoffs while Blue raised his hand.

"Ah yes! Mr. Oak, what is the answer?"

"It's night vision sir, every Faunus have them to help them see better during hunting or guarding in night time. Everyone knows about this but not General Lagune, he thought that he can ambush the Faunus in their sleep but he was outmatched and got captured," Blue answered.

"Indeed it is! Also, thank you for your added information Mr. Oak," Their Professor complimented as he went zooms back in the front of the class. "Now you see..."

As their Professor keep talking, Cardin was still glaring at Blue but Red noticed this and was very angry.

Team RABG were now in their room as both Blue and Yellow were currently doing their homework, Green texting on her Scroll while Red looks outside of his window in silence.

Green let out a sigh as she looks at Red and asked, "Still thinking of Cardin?"

Red snapped out of his thoughts as he look at his best friend's partner, "Huh?"

"Don't "Huh?" me, I know that the guy is an ass but you can't just beat him into a pulp for that," Green said as Red scratch the back of his head.

"I can't help it, you saw what he did to Jaune and to that girl from before, I'm just annoyed that he is still bullying people just for the fun of it," Red said.

"That will be not an excuse to let you beat him up," Green countered.

"There is another way," The two then look at Blue as Yellow also look at him.

"What?" Red asked.

"Professor Goodwitch's class," Blue simply said as the three now realized what he meant.

Red look at his hands and clenches them, he wouldn't go overboard for this, not like before.

And that is it for that chapter!

Man, I am slowly getting better at this and I feel really proud knowing that I am doing something I love.

It love to draw and all but I realized that it isn't about the drawing, it's about the creation of the character and the story.

After entering the world of fanfiction, I began to get more creative than before. I was inspired and created a hundred characters that have their own stories that is ever changing till I found the right fit for them.

Just look at the lists of characters below my bio, that is not an updated lists because I might remove it sooner or later.

I also want some suggestions in future chapters while I think of my own ideas, I might or might not use them if I am really ahead from this chapter, but I still appreciate it if you guys could give me some ideas ahead of me.
