Hey everyone, I hope you are all keeping well out there. This will be another shortish fic. It will be slash of the Bakugou/Midoriya persuasion. This is an AU fic, they still go to UA and still have quirks but in this Deku and Bakugou didn't grow up together and Deku gets One for All earlier. This makes him a bit of a cocky dick, but still a decent person. Also, they've kinda switched physical traits in this, so Bakugou is quite short and diminutive, while Deku is tall and broad. A lot of it is explained in the first chapter. Oh also, no Todoroki past family angst, everything is nice. I hope you enjoy! Would love some comments to see what you think.

Chapter 1

Bakugou looked around his dorm room, taking in the tidy desk, the large Best Jeanist poster on the wall and his shark teddy laying on his bed. His cupboard was packed away neatly with all his clothes and shoes, and he'd just finished setting up his bedside table. His bed was covered in a thick quilt and soft emerald green blanket, that he loved to wrap around himself when it got chilly. His bookshelf was laden with all his favourites, they are a comfort to him being away from home for the first time. He smiled in satisfaction; he was officially unpacked. His parents had just left after helping him get settled into what will be his new home for the next three years.

His heart pounded in excitement; it was his first day at UA. On Monday lessons would begin and he would officially become a hero in training, on his way to becoming Japan's number 1 hero! Right now, though, it was Saturday, and he was enjoying a moment to bask in his new reality.

With one more happy sigh he left his room and made his way downstairs to the communal kitchen, dining and lounge area. He had seen a few of his classmates when he had been unpacking, a pink girl and a boy with red hair but hadn't spoken to either of them. He wasn't the best at making friends or talking to people in general, he could be blunt and awkward and definitely swore too much. It turned some people off, he tried not to let it bother him but sometimes he couldn't help but feel insecure.

He walked into the large room, there was a couple of lounges, bean bags and cushions arranged around a massive TV. The lounges were a dark grey and looked soft and comfortable, he could see himself curling up watching movies after a long day. Behind it all, there was a dining table big enough to seat everyone in their class.

His eyes wandered to a small group of people sitting on one of the lounges. One was the pink girl he had seen earlier; the others were three boys; one with blonde hair, one with brown and one with purple. It was like a rainbow, he chuckled to himself as he slowly made his way over.

The blonde looked up as he approached, a wide grin stretching his face.

"Hey! Welcome man, come sit with us."

Bakugou nodded and sat down, clearing his throat awkwardly.

"Hey, I'm Bakugou Katsuki."

"Kaminari Denki."

"Shinsou Hitoshi."

"Ashido Mina."

"Sero Hanta."

Bakugou tried his best to remember the names.

"Room all set up?" Sero asked politely.

Before Bakugou could respond Kaminari piped up.

"Yep! All settled in, it was so hard fitting everything I brought, but I made it work." The blonde said, bouncing happily in his seat.

"I'm not a fan of the communal showers on each floor, though" Ashido said with a dramatic sigh.

Bakugou snorted, "me either."

"My parents tried to convince me it wouldn't be too bad" the pink girl said with a disbelieving frown.

"Sounds like bullshit to me" Bakugou laughed, before freezing slightly. Shit, five seconds in and he was already swearing, he glanced nervously at the people in front of him, but no one seemed to mind, in fact Ashido was laughing.

"That's what I tried to say, though in more parental friendly language."

"What floor are you on?" the pink teen asked.

"Third floor."

"Me too!" Kaminari said excitedly. "Hey, we can have movie nights and study sessions so easy since we're on the same floor."

"Sounds good" Bakugou said with a small grin. "I'm sure others can join us sometimes as well, even if they aren't on the same floor" he put in seeing Shinsou, Ashido and Sero smile at that.

"Of course!" Kaminari said happily.

"Have you met anyone else yet?" Sero asked.

Which got a round of "no's" and heads shaking.

"I heard Midoriya Izuku is in our class" Kaminari gossiped and Ashido gasped.

"Who's that" Bakugou asked in confusion, four sets of eyes turned and stared at him in shock.

"You've never heard of Midoriya Izuku?"

"Big guy, lots of green hair, got One for All from All Might like five years ago and since then has been trained personally by the hero. Travelling all over the world together attending events and learning new techniques."

Ah, of course Bakugou had heard of him, he just hadn't paid that much attention to the other teen to be honest. After all the hype when the quirkless boy had been given One for All had died down Bakugou had lost interest.

"Oh yeah, I remember him."

"Aren't you excited he's in our class?" Kaminari said in disbelief.

"Not really" Bakugou said honestly. "Maybe I will be when I can see what he can do."

The group settled in more, chatting about their families and quirks. Bakugou was surprised how easy it was to talk to them. Maybe because they were all a bit nervous away from home, but he thought he liked them well enough that they might become friends.

"I can secrete acid" Ashido was just explaining, when a group of people walked into the room. They all turned to see three teens talking and joking loudly.

Kaminari and Ashido both gasped as Midoriya Izuku walked in with a tall teen nearly as large as him with bright red hair and sharp pointed teeth and another teen with bi colour hair and eyes. This teen Bakugou knew. He was the son of Endeavour and Bakugou had seen him use him quirk on TV before and been very impressed. He already had amazing control, especially impressive as he essentially had two quirks.

The trio walked into the lounge.

"Hey! Welcome! I'm Kaminari Denki" the blonde said eagerly.

Pushing and shoving the teens next to him to make room for the newcomers. Ashido let out an indignant squark as she was nearly knocked off the lounge.

Bakugou furrowed his brows in annoyance, Kaminari was lucky he hadn't tried to touch him.

He looked up as someone stood in front of him, eyes trailing over a broad chest until he met bright green eyes.

"Aren't you going to move down, pipsqueak? We need more room than that."

Bakugou frowned. Pipsqueak!? OK so maybe he was quite small, and petite especially compared to these three, but he really didn't appreciate the nickname.

"How about no," he said with a roll of his eyes. "There's plenty of seats around, I don't see why you need my one."

"Well, it's not so much that I need your one, but more that I want it." The green haired teen said with a smirk.

Bakugou reclined back on the lounge he was sitting in, making himself comfortable.

"Well, that's too bad, because I don't feel like moving."

The green haired teen frowned turning to his friends who were both snickering at him.

"Do you know who I am?"

Bakugou feigned ignorance, bringing his finger up to touch his chin as though deep in thought.

"Nope" he said, popping the p loudly.

"I'm Midoriya Izuku!" the teen said, annoyed now, he was clearly used to being recognised.

"And I care why?" Bakugou said with another roll of his eyes.

He turned to talk to Todoroki, knowing that being ignored would just piss the tall teen off even more.

"Todoroki, I saw how you stopped that robbery at the mall a few weeks back. Your quirk is really impressive" Bakugou said honestly. Todoroki gave him a surprised smile while the red-haired teen clamped his hand over his mouth to stop from laughing outright at the glare Midoriya was now levelling at Bakugou.

"You must have to train really hard to have such great control over both your ice and fire already" Bakugou continued earnestly, and the blonde noticed the surprised looks on Ashido and Kaminari's faces.

"I do, yes. I'm very lucky to have a father who is a hero and able to help me train."

"I bet that helps" Bakugou said with a grin. "I'd love to train with you some time, when your free?"

"Sure, lets give it a few weeks until we all get settled and then we can organise something" Todoroki said.

"I'll hold you to that!" Bakugou said and the other teen just chuckled, "I have no doubt you will."

"I'm Kirishima Eijirou" the red-haired teen spoke up in the lull in the conversation and Bakugou turned his attention to him.

"Bakugou Katsuki."

Everyone else went around and introduced themselves as well, Midoriya was still standing near him watching the proceedings with a frown.

After a little while Bakugou began to feel tired, it had been a big day. He hadn't had any dinner but was honestly too tired to care. He stood up and stretched with a big yawn, realising as he did so that he didn't even reach Midoriya's chin and was practically half his size across. Well maybe not quite half, but it sure felt like it.

"I think I'm going to head to bed" the blonde said, trying to stifle another yawn.

"What? It's only 8pm" Kaminari said, brows furrowed in confusion.

Bakugou just shrugged. "Tired" he said with a grunt. "Good night."

The blonde didn't notice the eyes that followed him out of the room.

The tired teen trudged up to bed. He contemplated having a shower but decided to forgo it until the morning, simply scrubbing his teeth and washing his face before making his way to his room. He pulled on his comfiest pyjamas and crawled under the blankets, pulling Mr Snappers into his arms before switching off the light and falling into a deep sleep.

Midoriya watched as the diminutive teen wandered out of the room, he honestly didn't know what to make of that whole interaction. He looked over at the people still left in the room specifically his two best friends, Todoroki and Kirishima. Both were already looking at him.

"Looks like someone's already got your number" Kirishima said with a laugh.

"Shut up" Midoriya growled. "He obviously didn't know who he was dealing with."

"I don't know, he seemed to know exactly who Todoroki was" Kirishima said, continuing to tease his best friend.

Todoroki grinned at that. "I can't wait to train with him, he looks like he has some fire about him."

"That chibi, won't last five seconds against you. I guarantee it, you're just wasting your time" Midoriya huffed, dropping down into Bakugou's vacated seat and running his fingers through his tangle of green curls.

"Are you sure you're not just upset because the pretty blonde boy didn't want to sit next to you?" Todoroki said with a leer.

"As if" Midoriya growled.
