Chapter:18 Reaching New Heights

Red is currently pacing back and forth in his team's dorm room as he was preparing himself to ask Yellow for the dance, he was extremely nervous and just wanted to have a plan ready.

"Okay Red, you can do this," He said to himself as he took a few deep breathes. "Just ask Yellow and you don't have to worry about it, simple. But there might be something that I am missing about this. Come on think!"

Knock! Knock! Knock! "Red! Can I come in?!"

Red looked to the door after the knocking and hearing Green's voice.

He quickly compose himself as he then walk over to the door and opened it to reveal Green.

"What is it?" Red asked as he let's Green in their dorm.

"I'm looking for Blue, I haven't seen him all that much yesterday?" She said.

"Oh I think he's with Team RWBY helping with the party since Team CFVY had to take a mission," Red explained to her as the brunette snaps her fingers.

"Drats, I was going to ask him about something," Green said in annoyance as she puts her hands on her hips. She then remembered who she was talking to and had a sly grin on her face.

Red was worried from the grin and said, "Is something wrong?"

"Did you asked Yellow yet?" She asked as a massive blush appeared on his face.

"Wha-wha-wha?!"

"Hahaha! Oh you should've seen your face!" Green laughed as Red has a look of shock on his face, she then slowly calm down and let's out a sigh of relief. "But seriously thou, did you ask her yet?"

"Firstly, no. Second, why do you think it's Yellow?" Red tried to bluff his way out of this but the unwavering grin on Green's face didn't show any sign of belief.

"Well for starters, you just stuttered as if you have been caught," She said as Red scratches the back of his head in embarrassment while she then sits on her bed. "And I kinda ask Yellow about you two."

"Huh? You mean-" Red then realized what was going on. "You had Blue set this up didn't you?!"

He angrily points at the brunette as she just laughs at him.

"Guilty as charged," She said as she her hands up but quickly puts them down. "And you can't deny it, you feel something between you two."

Red just sighs as he also sat on his bed with a defeated look on his face.

"I just don't get it. I just don't why I feel like this with her, it's not that I find her unappealing, it's just too confusing," Red said as he clutches his head.

"Relax, that's how love always is. You don't have to learn that quickly, it takes time," Green said to him as he listens closely. "So stop thinking and actually feel what your heart wants. Your answer is gonna be there, so empty your mind and feel it."

Red smiled from the wisdom Green share to him as he stood up.

"Thanks, I might actually ask her this time. Where is she anyway?" He asked as Green shrugs.

"I think she's still here in Beacon, you better hurry," The brunette said to him.

"Alright bye," Red said as he went for the door and left, leaving Green in their dorm.

Green now has a satisfied look on her face as she laid on her bed.

"Good work Green, good work," She praises herself till she sits up again. "Now I need to find Blue."

"Achoo!"

"Bless you."

"Thanks," Blue said as he was currently walking through the city with two other people with him.

The first one is a young woman with orange hair in a sideways ponytail, green eyes, and fair skin. She wears a long red top, a pair of knee long jeans, a pair of white socks and sneakers, lastly a pair of red spherical earrings.

The second one is a young man with spiky brown hair, squinted eyes, and a tan complexion. He wears a vest over a black t-shirt with an orange logo, brown trousers, green sneakers, and pair of black sweatbands.

"So how's Beacon treating you?" The girl asked.

"Been good, how about you guys?" Blue asked.

"I managed to get an apprenticeship with Bruno," The boy with them said.

"And my team are ready for the tournament," The girl said.

"How about the rest?"

"They are doing fine. Clair is probably with her cousin, Wallace and Winona were little distant but they still cooperate, Erika is on our team's dorm, and Olivia might still be in Brock's dorm with the rest of their team," The boy said.

"Still trying to date Olivia Brock?" Blue asked the now named Brock as he rub the back of his head.

"How is that a bad idea?" He asked.

"Brock, your hormones somehow went to overdrive and you became a skirt chaser" The girl pointed out to him.

"I can't help it Misty, my dad experienced the same thing when he was my age, even my grandfather has the same problem as we did. I would even bet that my brother Flint would experience the same."

"I still question how your family still able to live to this day," The now named Misty said as Brock just has his arms crossed.

"It's all on the Slate charm and tenacity."

"Back on the main subject please?" Blue asked as he was really annoyed by this.

"Sorry. How is Red anyway?" Misty asked as Brock smirks at this.

"You still have a crush on him? I thought you and Bill are dating?"

"We still are!" She yelled at the older teen but he still has that smirk on his face. "That was years ago, I moved out of it when Red doesn't like to get involve with anyone."

"He is slowly opening up a bit," Blue said as his two friends look at him. "Since the day our team was formed, Red would always look to his partner that I almost lost count how many times he snaps out of it when the teacher calls him."

"So Red finally gets a girlfriend?" Brock said as Misty was annoyed by this.

"Took him long enough," She said.

"Well... not yet, they are having mixed feelings with one another. They are kinda conflicted by this," Blue said.

"Then we just give them a little push, it might actually starts something," Brock said.

"I think my partner already gave them that push."

"Then let's push them a bit more," Misty said as they then continued their walk around the city.

Yellow meanwhile is with Miss Goodwitch's office as she and the older sat opposite with one another while a small table is between them, her hat is on the table as her Faunus ears were fully revealed.

"So," Glynda started as Yellow fiddles with her ponytail. "The dance is coming tomorrow and you wanted Mister Ketchum be your date for tonight, but you don't how to express it?"

Yellow shyly nods as Glynda let out a sigh.

"Yellow, I know that it is really difficult when you are in this type of situation. I know, it happened to me a long time ago, but you must understand that love is a very complicated thing. I have seen you two interact with one another and I couldn't deny that you two are good for each other, but you two are new to this and it must confuse you a lot."

Yellow nods in understanding as Glynda leans forward and pat her head, the younger blonde enjoys the feeling as her Faunus ears twitches from it while Glynda smiles when she sees this.

"When I first found you in the Emerald Forest, I knew that you were going to be something special, and you have found someone special to you. Hold these words in your heart and be happy, okay?"

"Okay," Yellow said as she still enjoys the touch of the headmistress as the older blonde let's out a giggle as they enjoyed continued to talk with one another.

Like a mother to her child.

There moment was soon ruined when they hear Yellow's Scroll ringing. The young blonde checks who it was and was surprised when she saw who it was.

Red

Red is currently in the courtyard as he nervously pace back and forth.

He had called Yellow earlier to meet him in the courtyard, but she didn't know that he was going to ask her to the dance.

After some thinking, Red finally mustered up the courage to ask his partner out. But as time goes along, his courage slowly turn into doubt when he keeps waiting. He felt paranoid from the thought of Yellow not meeting up with him and go for the dance.

Breathing in and out, he tries to keep his resolve but the long wait really dampens it.

"Red!" He quickly turns around to see Yellow running towards him as his resolve came back in an instant, he then ran towards his partner as the two eyed each other and quicken their pace.

As the two were now in front of each other, the two had to take some few deep breathes before they could speak with one another.

"Why did you call me?" Yellow asked as Red took a deep breathe, this is the moment.

"Yellow I want to ask you to go with the dance with me," He said to her as she was rather surprised at how forward her leader is, but she has an answer of her own. "After everything we've been through, I began to see you as someone that I could belive on, someone that I could call as a friend."

Yellow frowns from this but she was soon shocked when he kneeled before her, her heart fluttering from the action.

"But being with you in just a small amount of time, I began to have strange feelings in my heart, but I soon thought about it more and I now realize what it was."

The two of them were now anxious as Red says what he wanted to say.

"Yellow, can I be your boyfriend?"

Red slowly become more anxious than before till Yellow suddenly hugs him, he could feel her warmth as he was now very flustered.

Yellow then let go as Red could now see the relieved look on her face as her smile removed all of his doubt and fears.

"I felt the same Red," She said to him as Red stood up as she held his hands. "I know that I'm not ready for this kind of relationship but I'll try. And after everything you said, I don't think I will ever doubt it now."

"So you mean?"

"Yes Red, you can take me for the dance and I can be your girlfriend," Yellow said as the two then look at each other directly at the eyes. "Just promise me that we'll do everything together, that we have each other's backs and we will never lie to each other."

"I promise," Red said without hesitation as the two smiled at one another before biking each other a hug.

Far away from the two, both Green and Blue watches this from afar as the brunette has a pair of binoculars.

"Alright! Operation: Orange is a success," Green happily as Blue just groan since he was dragged into this.

"You owe me for getting Red to act," He said.

"Yeah yeah, I'll get you something," Green said as she dismissed what he said as she was still watching their other teammates.

Even further away from the two is Glynda as she watched everything with the cameras on the school. While she was glad that the two open up, she still worry for Yellow's safety.

"You better keep your promise Mister Ketchum," Glynda said as she turn off her Scroll and walked away to continue her duty.

Omake:

Secret Stash

Red is currently walking back to his room till he hears something inside from the door. He put his ears by the door and listens.

pi pi pi

His eyes widen as he bust open the door and was shocked to the sight before him.

In a corner, Blue was tied up by rope while both Green and Yellow were listening on a retro DVD player. While Yellow was blushing and was about to faint, Green eyed the player while the song keeps playing.

The three then noticed Red as Green turns off the player and grabbed the DVD inside before approaching their leader with a hollow look on her face.

"What is this? Why is it under your bed?" She asked him as Red began to nervously sweat.

"Umm... I bought it when I reached puberty, and I bought it because I was still confused back then," Red lied through his teeth, hoping they would bought it.

Fortunately it did as Green eyed it before leaving the DVD in their room as then left to clear her thoughts.

As Green left, Yellow points at Red with a massive blush on her face.

"Why did you make a song like that?!" Yellow yelled at her partner as the song she heard clearly ruined her innocence.

"Like he said, it was puberty and I might say that would be the worst year he ever has," Blue said as Yellow also left as she didn't want anything that would make her remember that song.

Red then sigh when she left as he has his hands on his face as he now feel stupid bringing his songs here in Beacon, especially the ones that are so risqué.

"At least no one else heard it," Blue said as he tries to bright up his friend which only made Red groan.

He really hope so.

Omake end

And that is it for that chapter!

So I finally tied the knot, next chapter will be developing their feelings to each other since I want to start something in the beginning before they go lovey-dovey. This is my third time doing romance so don't blame me if it's too cringy.

On another note, the first Omake to this story appears! I have waited to make one and it is kinda funny. I thought about this before and I can't help my self laughing from it. I just stumbled on that song by accident and I couldn't help myself putting in this Omake.

But enough of that, what I need to do now is to further continue this story! So just wait for the next chapter and I hope you enjoyed this one.
