Summary:
There are some forms of alien activity even MIK turns a blind eye to. The truly alien activity between Chupataro and Ohdo Yuhi, for instance.
Chapter 13: Chupataro VS Goha Yuna!
After it was case closed on the Case of the Winged Serpent, Yuamu, Yuhi, and Yudias fought a cast of eccentric characters in the Coruffium, slowly boosting their Duel Power.
The Hot-Blooded Warrior, Sparta Guts.
The Delusional Conqueror, Alexander.
The Mad King of Quirkiness, Xerxes.
Manabu duelled his superior, Director General of the MIK Central Ward, Nanahoshi Ranran.
But the trail leading them to Goha Yuna's whereabouts was arduous.
"No, we've made progress. Isn't that right, Goha Yuna-chan?" Yuamu demanded the cloaked stranger in the Coruffium's fanged archway.
"You. What do you want with my Rovian-sama?"
"She's Goha Yuna?"
"WHAT? Was Goha Yuna not captured and held hostage by the Rovian Bandits?"
"You insolent snoops!" Her Ladyship revealed her hostage: Fisher Sukai. "You shall learn your ignorance directly!"
"Goha Yuna, I do not know your reasons for allying with the Rovian Bandits, but let us Rush Duel. If I win, I will have you tell us everything you know about Rovian!" Yudias challenged.
"And free Sukai!" Yuhi added.
"There is no reason for me to participate in this –"
Yudias' Duel Disk of unknown origin set Yuna off. Really set her off!
"WHY DO YOU HAVE THAT DUEL DISK?"
"Dang, Goha Yuna's angry! Is she – Is she gonna cuss me out for standing here?"
"You can say that again!"
"Sure, I'll say it twice! Dang, that Goha Yuna's angry!"
"You can relate, Yuhi."
"Uh huh. I have an angry lil' chupacabra boyfriend!"
The roof of the Coruffium's arch collapsed, and from the smoke, emerged Chupataro. And with him…
"The 3-Metre Alie – no, I mean, Hiramori Mitsuko?" Yudias corrected himself.
Mitsuko leered down silently and humourlessly at Yudias, not at all the armoured and chatty Flatwoods Monster they were used to. Yudias got the sense she wouldn't answer him about Zuwijo at the current time if he inquired.
"Goha Yuna! You cannot be allowed to do as you please, cabra! This Duel, Chupa'll chuparu, chupa!"
"Ho? If you can, please try it!"
"Wait, my beloved comrade!" Yudias implored. "This is my Duel!"
"It's because we're beloved comrades, Yudias, that Chupa needs you to trust Chupa with this Duel, chupa!"
Yudias was astonished, but trusted Chupataro and nodded.
"No objections, chupa?"
"Hmph! Do as you like! As long as I win that Duel Disk, any of you will do! And I shall take all your group's Duel Power as a bonus!"
They boarded their respective UFOS in the inner arena.
"Chupataro!" Chupataro attached his Deck to his Duel Disk.
"Goha Yuna!" Yuna attached her Deck to hers.
"GO RUSH, CHUPA!"
"GO RUSH!"
"Chupa's turn! Draw, chupa! Chupa summons Ewekai Airaries! Ewekai Aquasheep! And release! Magical Sheep Girl Meeeg-chan! Advance Summon, chupa!" (Level 7 LIGHT Beast/Normal ATK 2500 DEF 1600)
"Something's wrong."
"What is it, Yuhi?"
"Chupataro, he…He skipped Meeeg-chan's summon chant."
"Set two cards! Turn end, chupa!"
"It's my turn. Allow me to draw. I shall! Yes, I shall!" Yuna drew flashily. "I shall summon Aero Sorcerer and Earth Sorcerer! I release them. Advance Summon! No matter if walls, mountains, or planets block my way! I shall carve a road through it all and press onward! Come forth, Sevens Road Magician!" (Level 7 DARK Spellcaster/Effect ATK 2100 DEF 1500)
"Sevens Road Magician?"
"I've never heard of that monster before."
"I send the top card of my Deck to the Graveyard to activate Sevens Road Magician's effect! This turn, Sevens Road Magician gains 300 ATK for each monster Attribute in my Graveyard! It's an Elemental Road!" (ATK 2100 ↑ ATK 2700)
"Purrposterous!" Manabu and Nyandestar sounded off.
"2500 ATK? Your beloved Meeeg-chan is no match for my Sevens Road!" Yuna scoffed.
"Don't tell Chupa who Chupa loves, chupa!" His furious reaction flabbergasted even her.
"Irritating! Behold, and cower! O sorcerer from darkness. Now, in the name of Goha Yuna, let's bestow a new power upon Sevens Road Magician. Equip Magic, Road Arms – Sevens Lance!"
"Equip Magic?"
"Another card we haven't seen before!"
"Road Arms – Sevens Lance is an Equip Magic that can only be used on Sevens Road Magician. The monster equipped with this gains 400 ATK for each Attribute in my Graveyard!"
"As if, chupa! Counter Trap, Magic Jammer, chupa!"
"A COUNTER TRAP? THE PROTOTYPE MY COMPANY'S BEEN DEVELOPING?"
"Chupataro's also using a never-before-seen card!"
"The Chupataro before you is different from the Chupataro you've known until now," Mitsuko interrupted. "He was taking down opponents in threes in the Coruffium."
"So that's what he's been doin' this whole time! And he's levelled up?" Yuhi squeezed his gloves, pumped at the info. "Hey! Are you the one he secretly met with?"
Mitsuko smiled.
"Do your best, Chupataro-kun!" Yuamu yelled.
"Chupa sends a card from Chupa's hand to the Graveyard to negate your Equip Magic and destroy it, chupa!"
"No! My Road Arms!" Her card exploded. The pathetic alien had her read out the full text prior to countering it! "You…You're only delaying the inevitable! Your best is 2500 ATK, after all! I set a card and battle! Sevens Road Magician attacks Magical Sheep Girl Meeeg-chan! SEVENS MAGIC!"
"Don't move, chupa! Trap Card, Ewekai Roar, chupa! By shuffling two Beast Normal Monsters from Chupa's Graveyard into the Deck, your Level 7 or higher monster is returned to the hand, and you receive 500 damage x the number of monsters used for this card's requirement, cabra!" (Yuna LP 4000 ↓ 3000)
"Grrr! You survived this turn, huh?"
"Survive, chupa? Chupa wins, chupa! Chupa's turn! Draw, chupa!"
Yuna grimaced.
"Chupa'll show you, chupa! Earthdamar's hidden power, cabra!"
"Did he say EARTHDAMAR?" Yuhi's heart rate accelerated.
"Chupa releases Magical Sheep Girl Meeeg-chan, chupa!"
It's coming! Mitsuko's smile morphed into a smirk.
"EH?" Yuhi gasped.
"He is releasing his Ace Monster?" Yudias gasped also.
"Capturing the heart of the lonely chupacabra! Shaving the wool around his soul! Magical Sheep Crossdresser Yuhi! Advance Summon, chupa!" (Level 6 LIGHT Beast/Effect ATK 2000 DEF 1200)
The newly summoned monster was the spitting image of Yuhi in his Meeeg-chan cosplay.
"A CARD BASED ON ME? WHERE IN THE WORLD DIDJA GET THAT FROM?"
Yudias got excited. "Ohhh! Rush Duels keep getting more and more profound!"
"It can't be! There shouldn't be such a card in Rush Duels!" Yuna stiffened in disbelief.
"This is the hidden power of Earthdamar, chupa! The power Chupataro obtained by saying goodbye to Meeeg-chan, cabra!"
Yuhi remembered Chupataro's account of waking up from his coma during Zuwijo's televised speech/terror attack. When Chupataro said he broke up with Meeeg-chan!
Chupataro, you…At that time? You've been holding out this whole time?
"In other words, by rejecting Meeeg-chan who was imbued with Yuhi's Earthdamar, Chupataro-kun carved open a new road and willed a new card into existence, amirite?" Yuamu hypothesized.
"Chupa sends two cards from the top of Chupa's Deck to the Graveyard, chupa! Magical Sheep Crossdresser Yuhi's effect: 500 ATK up, chupa!" (ATK 2000 ↑ ATK 2500)
Calm down! I still have my set card! Curtain of Sparks shall decrease the ATK of an attacking monster by 500. If he attacks, I'll have life remaining, and on my following turn, I'll finish things with Sevens Road Magician!
"That's not all, chupa! Magical Sheep Crossdresser Yuhi's continuous effect, chupa!"
"HE HAS A CONTINUOUS EFFECT AS WELL?"
"Magical Sheep Crossdresser Yuhi gains another 500 ATK x the number of Magical Sheep Girl Meeeg-chan in Chupa's Graveyard, chupa!" (ATK 2500 ↑ ATK 3000)
"Incredible, Chupataro!" Yudias cheered.
"When Chupa has a Level 6 or higher Beast on the field, Chupa can activate the Magic Card, Ewekai Safe Pasture, chupa! This turn, only that monster can attack, but you can't activate Trap Cards, cabra!"
"Impossible! I, who am Goha Company's President! This can't be happening!"
"Magical Sheep Crossdresser Yuhi's direct attack, chupa! LOVE OF CHUPACABRA ROLLING!" (Yuna LP 3000 ↓ 0)
"NOOOOOOO! ROVIAN-SAMA~!" Yuna wailed.
"He won! Chupataro actually won!" Manabu choked out.
"Chupatarooo!" Yuhi sparkled. "That was so cool!"
"As agreed, Chupa is taking all your Duel Power, chupa! With this, Chupa has the key to the Badloon Castle and Rovian, cabra!"
Yuna clicked her tongue. "That was your intention all along, wasn't it?"
"Ah! It was, chupa! Chupa had no intention of saving the girl called Goha Yuna, chupa! Just to reach your boss, cabra!"
"WHY? WHAT BUSINESS DO YOU HAVE WITH MY ROVIAN-SAMA?" Yuna was upset, annoyed, frustrated, and pissed off, unable to rise off her knees due to her Rush Battler getting emptied to zero and the Alien Residential Area's punishing gravity taking effect. "No matter how you slice it…Those cards…The Earthdamar…Just what the hell are you?"
"Chupataro, chupa!" Chupataro taunted her by giving her nothing.
"Now everyone's Duel Power is Macho, chupa! Next time, come with Chupa to the Badloon Castle, chupa!"
"Chupataro? Oi! Aren't we goin' to talk about any of this?" Yuhi scrambled after him and Mitsuko, Sukai's constituent skyfish in plastic baggie.
