Chapter 89: Day of the Derelicts

Kago Tamako. Jobless 3-Metre alien. Prior work experience: none. A basketball hoop with a basketball for a dome. Enjoys scaring children when she's not working.

She's never worked a day in her life.

She resembled but was legally distinct from the Daleks, the Daleks, the Daleks.

"Micchan, three words: Move on, dunk."

"But…"

"You're not still dribbling for him, are you, dunk?"

"For Zuwijo? I wouldn't…" Mitsuko's face betrayed her.

Tamako gave up. "Just for you, Micchan, I'll clobber the guilt out of him. Zuwijo! Rush Duel me, dunk!"

"What?" Zuwijo replied callously.

"I hate working! But the way you keep ignoring Micchan, I find it reprehensible, dunk!"

"Baske Goalko-neesan?"

"Micchan, I'm sorry. If I hadn't been on you to come to that 3-Metre alien meeting, you would've never crashed into him! He wouldn't be in your life, dunk!"

The cheating bastard who wrecked Mitsuko's space romance was stock-still. Affectless.

"If we're in chaos, Kuaidul can't complete his Deck, dunk. That's what you said, dunk?"

"He can't," Zuwijo confirmed.

"So let's Rush Duel. After everything you've put Micchan through, don't you feel anything, dunk?"

"Nothing."

That damn Zuwijo!

"Hey, Zuwijo…Do we have time for this?" Yuhi butted in.

"Shouldn't we be planning our counterattack against Kuaidul?" Yuamu underscored.

"Oh hush!" Manya felt entitled. "The drama's just getting good!"

"Bochi wants to watch."

"Mm~! Hmm~! Kirishima-chan likey!" London bobbed his head. "Don't be party poopers!"

London's slang thoroughly confounded Yudias.

"Zuwijo zir Velgear."

"Kago Tamako!"

"GO RUSH!"

"My turn! Draw! I summon Voidvelgr Hoplites and Voidvelgr Pale Rider! I release the two of them to Advance Summon! From the expanse of empty sky, I invoke the promised paradise of oblivion. Now rest in peace! Voidvelgr Elysium!" (Level 8 DARK Galaxy/Effect ATK 2500 DEF 2000)

"A first-turn Elysium? Outstanding, Zuwijo!" Yudias couldn't contain himself.

"I set two cards. Turn end."

"My turn. Draw. I summon Secret Investigator Miss Guide."

Secret Investigator Miss Guide (Level 3 LIGHT Reptile/Effect ATK 1300 DEF 300)

"When she is the only monster on my field, I can activate Miss Guide's effect, dunk. I send the top three cards of my Deck to the Graveyard, and if Elite Secret Investigator Miss Tery is sent, I Special Summon two more Miss Guides from my hand, treating all Miss Guides as Miss Tery this turn!"

Miss Guide changed disguises.

"I release two to Advance Summon! It's time for a dunk from my very soul, dunk! Grasp victory and aim for the basket! Finish this! Secret Base Guardian Miss Shot!" (Level 8 LIGHT Reptile/Effect ATK 300 DEF 2400)

BOMB!

"By shuffling three LIGHT Reptiles from my Graveyard into my Deck, Miss Shot's effect activates. Miss Shot's ATK goes up 3000 until the end of your next turn, dunk!" (ATK 300 ↑ ATK 3300)

"Nya-nya! 3300?"

"Since Miss Tery was released, Miss Shot can destroy up to three Level 8 or lower monsters! Voidvelgr Elysium is destroyed!"

"Baske Goalko-neesan! Nice shot!"

"I activate the Trap Card, Diffuse Nebula! O ye souls of buried soldiers…Come and rise again! I Special Summon Voidvelgr Elysium!"

"Travelling! I set a card, dunk! Secret Base Guardian Miss Shot attacks Voidvelgr Elysium! Cruel Tomahawk!"

"Oghhh!" (Zuwijo LP 4000 ↓ 3200)

"Goalko-chan destroyed Elysium again!"

"When Elysium is destroyed, I activate the Trap, Dark Nebula! With 500 ATK down, it is Special Summoned from my Graveyard!"

Voidvelgr Elysium (ATK 2500 ↓ ATK 2000)

"You summoned it three times, dunk?" Tamako saw why Zuwijo made Mitsuko this angry. "Turn end!"

Voidvelgr Elysium (ATK 2000 ↑ ATK 2500)

"My turn! Draw! I summon two monsters, and immediately release! Advance Summon! From the expanse of empty sky, I awaken an army of clouds. Reveal yourself! Voidvelgr Hecatoncheir!" (Level 7 DARK Galaxy/Effect ATK 2000 DEF 2600)

"Watch out, Baske Goalko-neesan! That's –!"

"I change Hecatoncheir to Defence Position to activate its monster effect! 100-Ton Convulsion!"

"Dunk!" (Tamako LP 4000 ↓ 3500)

"As I control the Level 8 Elysium, the battle position of one face-up Galaxy-Type can be switched! I return Hecatoncheir to Attack Position! I then send a card from my hand to the Graveyard to activate Elysium's effect! Miss Shot is switched to face-down Defence Position, and Elysium's ATK goes up by 500!" (ATK 2500 ↑ ATK 3000)

"The ATK that Miss Shot gained…"

"Zuwijo voided it!"

"I set a card. Voidvelgr Elysium atta –!"

"Here's the layup, dunk. I activate my set Trap Card, Exterminate!"

"Woof! That Trap Card destroys an attacking monster!"

"The turn it activated its effect, Elysium can't be destroyed by Traps."

"Exterminate can destroy or terrify a monster into not attacking, dunk. The ball's mine, Zuwijo! I switch Voidvelgr Hecatoncheir to face-down Defence Position!"

Hecatoncheir overlapped its wings, then ceased to be visible on the field. Zuwijo couldn't attack with both monsters now. He had to choose between destroying Miss Shot or dealing damage to Tamako by attacking Miss Guide.

"Impertinent. Elysium attacks Secret Base Guardian Miss Shot!"

The face-down Miss Shot turned to space dust.

"Turn end."

"My turn. I dr –!"

Tamako's cards shone amethyst, then dimmed.

Hm? Her cards changed?

"I release the face-down Defence Position Voidvelgr Hecatoncheir on your field to Advance Summon! O My Sacred Master. O Lord of Brightness who bestows all of its power, sanctity, and wisdom to me. See clearly my heart, my thoughts, and my skill. Tainted of the Tistina!" (Level 5 DARK Aqua/Effect ATK 2000 DEF 0) (Level 5 ↑ Level 10)

"WHAT IS THAT? It's scary!" Manya didn't have a sofa to hide behind.

Crystal grew and covered Tamako from head to toe.

"Baske Goalko-neesan!"

"That's the one!"

"The one what, Chupataro?" Yuhi didn't know what he was looking at.

"That's the monster Ishida summoned! The one that took George, cabra!"

"Yudias."

"Zuwijo?"

"Run. I will handle this."

"Handle? What are you saying, Zuwijo?"

"Hurry."

"Mitsuko-chan, you too!"

"But Baske Goalko-neesan…I can't leave Neesan like this…"

"President!" Tazaki-san pulled Yuamu away. "We have to go!"

Zuwijo, Mitsuko, and Tamako disappeared behind the burgeoning crystal rot.
