Hello

I just wanted to thank you for your support through the numerous views and favos. Of course, I would also be very happy to receive one or two comments. But that's up to each of you to decide. I am not forcing you to do anything. And the new favos and followers have made me very happy.

Best regards

Practiced, my fingers rubbed together and twisted the little stick between them faster and faster. Once again, I was just drawn out of Konoha. Into the darkness of the forest. Too much had happened, and I needed to rest. The carefully stacked wood and piles of plants began to smoke slightly, and small sparks began to jump over. Immediately I bent down and blew carefully into it. Not too timidly but also not too demanding. Otherwise, I would have to start all over again.

A few minutes later, a cozy fire crackled there. I smiled triumphantly and built a small wooden structure over it. In a moment, my dinner would be lying there. No bought fish from the market, but self-caught and in addition some hare meat. I had just been hunting. It had done well to run through the forest again. Free of all worries.

Good...when I would return, I was sure to have a lot on my mind...especially since I had just run away from the hospital in the middle of the night. Ah...I'm sure the nurses would make a big fuss in the morning. But I hated that facility like the plague. And everyone who knew me well knew that, so hopefully they would be able to relate.

But the nurses sure wouldn't. I grinned. This was going to be fun.

Now I had enough time to process what Sensei Kakashi had told me about the past fights. Besides me, Sasuke, Kankuro, Temari, Naruto, Gaara, Dosu, Neji, Shino, and Shikamaru had also made it to the finals. Of course, I was happy about the fact that Naruto and the Nara were also in the finals, but if I won my match, I would face either Temari or Shikamaru. That wasn't going to be fun, that much was certain.

That wasn't going to be fun, that much was certain.

If it was Temari, then I had fought each of the Suna siblings...whereas...did that count against Kankuro? I sighed. I had a lot to deal with now. Not to mention the failed assassination attempt by Kabuto. A hair tickled my nose and I had to sneeze.

Then I ran a hand through my hair, feeling its length. Lately they had grown quite a bit. Reached me now almost to the shoulder. That had to change. I had actually liked my short haircut very much. Why should I not remain so?

Resolutely I put one of the kunai to my hair.

„What's this going to be when it's done?"

I winced; I had not heard him coming after all. Silent as a shadow, he had sneaked up to me and was standing only a few steps away. How did he do that? I didn't expect him to be so silent when I looked at what he was always carrying on his back.

As if nothing was wrong, I grabbed a sharpened stick and speared the salmon and meat with it. Grass rustled under his approaching footsteps. I didn't look up as he stopped beside the fire.

„You know you could kill me now. Again, one less opponent in the finals would be to your advantage," I said softly.

„Why should I when I have no reason to?" came the unaffected reply.

Silence.

„What gave you that idea," he finally asked, and I looked at him in surprise. I didn't know him to be so talkative. "That I could kill you. I saved your girlfriend's life dammit, and I could never kill you."

That sounded like a promise. I swallowed. There was such seriousness in his voice as I had never heard before. And this was the moment when I started to trust him.

„I narrowly escaped an assassination attempt today. Sasuke barely managed to save my neck since I was still weakened from the fight," I said, and his eyes narrowed.

„He was standing in my room all at once, threatening me. And I was unarmed."

My teeth gritted as I clenched them. A shiver still ran down my spine as I thought of the scene.

Protectively, I wrapped my arms around my body. All of a sudden, I felt terribly cold, even though it was summer. With a fixed gaze I looked into the flickering flames. The meat was soon through and I still wanted to cut my hair.

In the middle of the movement I paused, but I suddenly felt how I was getting warmer. He had sat down behind me and his body heat enveloped me. It was too tempting to just lean back. But I pulled myself together and bent my upper body forward to carefully remove the meat from the sticks.

Then I skewered the hot fish one by one on short skewers and held one out to him. Surprised, he jerked back. His fingers trembled slightly, and I smirked.

„Don't tell me you've never eaten fish before?"

He shook his head slightly.

I laughed.

„What's so funny?"

I put my head back so I could look up at him. Briefly, I shook my tangled hair and sat up straight again.

„I've never met a person who never ate fish before," I grinned wryly and laughed softly.

„Well, we from Suna don't know anything like that. Life in the desert is a bit different," he said, biting carefully into the fish. He frowned briefly, swallowed, and took the next bite.

„It's okay," he finally said, setting the empty stick aside.

Unbelievable. He had eaten the whole fish in no time at all. He must have been hungry.

Smiling, I reached for the next one and bit into it. Fish was quite okay, but I liked meat nevertheless rather or the freshly stolen apples of Daichi, but for it my money was now too bad. I would rather buy other useful things with it.

And so the time passed. We laughed, drank, ate, and sat leaning against each other at the lively flickering fire. With each passing minute he became more relaxed and open. It made me happy to see him like this, it seemed to do him really good.

The moon began to sink again, as did my head, which slowly but surely fell back against his warm shoulder. I struggled with difficulty against the emerging fatigue, but finally gave in to it. The last thing I thought about was how safe I felt right now.

Something tickled my nose and woke me from my slumber. I blinked and immediately closed my eyes again. The sun was glaring into my silver irises and a sigh escaped my lips. Before I jerked upright and looked frantically back and forth between the small pile of ashes that had once been a fire and the high sun. Damn.

I had overslept. Something hummed behind me and in a flash, I remembered the events of last night. What a bummer. Faster than I wanted to, I had jumped up and was shaking the other's shoulders.

„Wake up."

He grumbled and turned to his other side.

„Only five more minutes Temari..."

A big fat grin crept onto my lips and I walked over to the nearby pond, dipped my hands in the water until they were quite cold, and returned to the sleeping, snoring dark heap. Jeez, he was almost as terrible as Naruto...although, no one could actually top the Uzumaki when it came to snoring. There he was unchallenged.

I quickly put it on his warm neck and immediately got the desired reaction. In a flash he had shot up and was now standing a little disoriented in the clearing.

„Did it have to be..." he interrupted himself as his eyes caught sight of me.

Literally, I could see it click and an almost panicked expression entered his.

„Damn."

„Yeah, that's what I thought."

„Oh, I'm so deep in the shit," he whined.

„It's not just you. I finally just ran away from the hospital. Now they're going to search all of Konoha for me. Well, that's going to be trouble."

„I have to go, if they see us together, then...my brother will kill me. No kidding."

„I get it. Take care. It was nice hanging out with you Kankuro," I said with a grin.

As soon as the Suna-nin was gone, I set about cleaning up the traces of our night's meal and was about to leave the clearing when I felt an all-too-familiar chakra behind me.

„Shouldn't you be at the hospital Tora?"

Not good. Not good at all. This was so going to be trouble.

Slowly with an attempted innocent expression on my face, I turned to the other.

„Hello Genma."
