The swearing in with smoothly. Holly could not be any prouder of Robert and neither could his children or grandchildren. After it was all said and done Robert stayed back to talk to Laura while the rest of them went out to their cars.

"I know you are going to do such a good job." Laura gave Robert a hug. She had complete confidence in him.

Robert hugged Laura, beaming. He loved how the ladies in his life had so much faith in him. "I'm gonna do my best. Did you get a chance to look into the marriage license for Holly and me?"

Laura nodded, a smile appeared on her face. "Yes, I was planning on giving it to you as a gift today."

"Planning?" Robert was confused by this statement. What did she mean planning?

"Robert I know you filed for divorce but when you were presumed dead Holly never filed the papers, you two are legally married." Laura smiled at Robert, she knew this news in itself was a gift.

Robert was completely speechless, he stumbled on his words. "Are you serious?"

"Yes, happy almost 41 years to you and Holly." She gave him a hug.

Robert hugged her back, he was even more happy now. He still wanted to give her a wedding but knowing they were still legally married made his day. "This is tied for the best thing that has happened to me today. I've got to go tell Holly! Are you coming by the house later?"

"We wouldn't miss it." Laura told Robert, referring to her and Kevin.

Robert went out to the car, the biggest smile on his face. "You ready to go home?" He asked Holly, Ethan and Jayne.

"Yes police commissioner Robert Scorpio." She grinned and gave him a kiss.

Robert drove them back to the townhouse, planning on having a moment with Holly when they got inside. This wasn't to be yet as when they walked in not only were Tiffany, Annie and Seana there but Celia, Grant, Frisco, Felicia, Anna, Duke, Robin, Patrick and the kids were all in there.

"Tiffany, you went all out." Robert gave her a hug.

"Oh I'm just so proud, I remember how good you were at this job and now our granddaughter gets to see her grandpa at his best." Tiffany genuinely thought the world of Robert and knew this job was made for him.

Robert put an arm around Holly. "Yes she does."

Emma sat with Noah and Seana, she heard about Robert dressing up as Santa and Seana not buying it so she made it her mission to make them believe their grandpa was in fact Santa.

Duke walked up to Holly and tapped her shoulder. "Holly, I wanted to apologize for not preventing you from getting her."

Holly shook her head. "Duke if it weren't for you I would be dead, you caused Valentin to shoot Diane. You saved me, I can never thank you enough."

Duke smiled at Holly as the two of them hugged. Anna walked up to them both. "Sorry to interrupt but the kids want some time with Grandpa Duke or Uncle Duke." Duke and Anna walked over to the kids.

"Can I steal you away for a moment?" Robert asked Holly. Holly nodded as the two went upstairs.

"Is everything okay?" Holly asked Robert, concerned. She couldn't help but wonder if he had regrets about taking the job.

Robert wrapped his arms around holly, smiling at her. "Everything is absolutely wonderful." He placed a tender kiss on her lips.
