What-

What!?

Frisk found himself in the orphanage again. He checked if he could still do magic…

I… I can't move! God freaking dammit! Why is this- Woah!

Everything seemed to happen without his control. He seemed to be walking towards mount Ebott while being chased by Jack.

Why, no! I need to stay at the orphanage…!

He tried getting control of his body, but… he couldn't! Jack seemed to see him go somewhere, and followed him along with two other people, he walked on the pavement, until he got to the forest.

No. no no no no! Why can't I move?! He isn't dead?!

He couldn't use magic, he couldn't move to his will, what the hell was happening?!

Jack and the others lost themselves in the forest before they could track Frisk. And by the time they did use innate magic to track him, he didn't appear anywhere! Where the heck was he?

"Sigh… this was useless, you two keep looking. I'll go back to my house." jack replied.

"Tch, damn noble with his damn 'pet', that thing should-"

"Shh, he might hear you!" the dark priest said. They both hurried and kept looking around the forest and mountain.

Oof! Ugh… seriously? Now I can move? What the actual heck was that?!

He moved from the bed of flowers and to the gray hallway.

"Chara?" he muttered.

[but nobody answered.]

He cleared himself and saw a flower with a face.

hey, for real? I mean. I suspected it, but the guy is a flower!

"Howdy! I'm Flowey, Flowey the flower." the flower said with a jolly voice.

Frisk's face was unamused, he looked towards his surroundings.

"I'm Frisk, Frisk the dog!" He mimicked Flowey. Flowey was not amused either.

"Heh, you're more of a copycat aren't you?" he joked as he in turn mimicked Frisk, but nobody laughed... Frisk's face darkened due to his hair blocking his eyes, he squinted his eyes.

How did he know? Isn't this the m-monster who almost killed me?! How did he know my magic?!

"Hey, you must be new to the underground. Let me show you how it works around here."

A white pellet appeared.

Huh, friendliness pellets… what kind of magic is that?

"Inside here, you can gain LV, what is LV? Why LOVE of course!"

Oh so, LV 2 must mean someone loves me! I knew my mother would come back!

"This is my… 'friendliness pellet' go touch it to gain LOVE. make sure you get it!" he enthusiastically said.

A single pellet slowly got near to him. He dodged it easily.

"Uh, you missed it, buddy. Let's try again…" his eyes twitched. He shot the pellets again.

Hell Nah. This isn't loved magic… love magic is colorless!

He dodged again.

"Are you kidding me? Are you braindead? Run! Into! The! BULLETS!" he slightly frowned

Bullets?

"Friendliness pellets!" he smiled again

He dodged the 6 bullets (not five) and Flowey stayed silent.

"You knew what was happening from the beginning didn't you?"

W-what the-

"You just wanted to see me suffer, DIE!"

Pellets surrounded him from every direction. Flowey's face enlarged into a grotesque smile and laughed as he slowly but surely moved the pellets.

Just as the pellets were about to hit him…

Fwoosh!

A white flame hit the flower away, he was saved!

Toriel!

[yes!]

Oh so now you talk… how did I… go back in time? Not even the best patience mages could do this! Frisk thought if he could go back in time and this wasn't a dream… he could guarantee his win at the regalia tournament!

Well, once I get out of here I guess…

"What a terrible creature, torturing such a poor, innocent youth...Ah, do not be afraid, my child."

"I am Toriel, caretaker of the Ruins…"

"Hi, I'm Frisk. Just Frisk." he smiled.

"I pass through this place every day to see if anyone has fallen."

"That's …odd…"

"Well, my oddities have saved your life, child. I would say it paid off" she said with a mellow voice.

"...thanks…." he felt helpless, all that while, he could only rely on his blessings and curses…

"You are the first human to come here in a long time. Come, I will guide you through the ruins. "

Frisk swiftly followed…

They both passed another room, and Frisk saw another yellow star.

"Uhm, Toriel, what's this?"

[SAVE]

[the shadow of the ruins looms above]

[you are filled with determination]

[HP fully restored]

Chara?

[GASP!]

"What is it, my child? It is just a bed of flowers…" She saw another yellow flower tailing behind Frisk, she glared at it, and it burrowed itself.

[oh my gods! What the hell was that?!]

"Hey, what was that reset thingy!? " he whispered to Chara.

[you…! Why are you still here? Why am I here?! What did you do?]

"My child? Are you... Okay? You seem to be talking to yourself…"

"A-ah, it's just my… er… uh-"

[imaginary friend.]

"Imaginary friend!" he mimicked the words right out of Chara. Toriel was suspicious, why did he stutter so much? It was plausible. Then he saw him blushing.

She smiled.

" There is nothing to be embarrassed about, young one. It is perfectly normal to have imaginary friends at your age."

"Y-yeah…"

Though… it's weird to not have any real friends. He inwardly thought. How come they don't like magic?

"Now come along please." she urged Frisk into going to the next room.

Once they were inside, he saw a set of 6 gray cubes and a closed door.

"Welcome to your new home. In these…"

..

.

Toriel explained that puzzles were used as both diversions and fun. She guided him through… "puzzles" that were labeled. It wasn't much of a challenge.

They arrived at a place with a dummy.

"As a human living in the UNDERGROUND, you may have to face monsters."

"What?" his squinted eyes opened wide in shock. "Aren't most monsters… friendly?" he said remembering something from the previous time he met her.

"Hmm? Do you know about monsters? Do they still teach human children about our kind? Ah… I thought that the last human kingdom forgot about us…" she said dreamily.

"Well, they did teach us about monsters," Frisk said, he looked up at Toriel's delighted face. "Though, I'd like to learn more." he gave a slight smile.

Just that they didn't exist anymore. it's a Sunday school managed by six churches. They probably didn't check…

[Toriel]

[knows best for you]

"Well, I'd be more than happy to add that to your curriculum."

Uh… what the heck is this blessing?

Meanwhile …

"Hehehe, he did it again!" the god of love laughed like a madman. "Determination is the best soul trait!"

"What do you mean? He didn't do anything!" Amanda asked bewildered.

"That's what you think, he just did the most amazing thing ever!" Emil spoke. Day-dreaming about all the c̶h̶a̶o̶s̶ fun he would have with his new toy.

"Hey what did that monster do, those white pellets weren't made of love right?"

"Love is colorless, you of all people should know that! That's a basic color magic dummy."

"Color magic?"

Right, I erased most of their memories with Chronos. He thought.

"Don't worry about it." he mysteriously said with a Cheshire grin.

[you encountered a dummy.] Chara said.

The world around him seemed to be devoid of any unnecessary information. Everything was in black and white, yet he could tell the color of some things.

[act]

[check]

"Uh, hi. How's your day going?"

[you talk to the dummy…]

"Well my day has just been fine and dandy, how about yours?"

[the dummy seems quite happy.]

"Oh, nothing much, just got down here, and now I'm with Ms. Toriel." Frisk said."

[Toriel seems to be happy with you]

[the dummy seems reluctant to fight you.]

[you WON!]

[0 XP and 0 gold]

"Very good child! Now come along ple[ase…"

"See you later!" He waved goodbyes and left with Toriel.

"There is another puzzle, I wonder how quickly you'll solve it… "

[!]

Frisk narrowly dodged a tongue coming for his leg.

[Froggit attacks!]

You could say it before I do that!

[What will you do puppy?] Chara teased

Sigh… I would soo fight back if I had my innate magic right now…

[act]

[check] [compliment] [threat]

"You look good(?)!" he said with a faltering voice.

[Froggit didn't get what you said, but was flattered anyway!]

"..."

[you WON]

[no rewards]

"Hey, stop reading that text, it's annoying!" he whispered.

[hmm… nope!]

After a couple of puzzles (and a death trap), and flirts later…

[you got a Phone! (old)]

"I'm bored… How long is she gonna last…? Oh well, at least I have time to talk with you now. What. in. tarnation. Was that?"

[well, I saw a certain someone using a similar power as personal magic.]

"You mean innate?"

[no! Personal magic you know!]

"Uh…?"

[stems from your personality and not your lineage?]

"I mean… I've never heard of such magic… but it happened… I wanna try that again! Maybe this time I can figure out a way to get out of here…"

[wait. Didn't you come here out of your own choice? Besides, I'm pretty sure not even this power is enough to get out of the barrier.]

"So… are you a ghost monster? How does that work? Do all humans become ghosts? Or do you have some unfinished-"

[wow buddy, slow down… I don't know how I became a ghost either, but it seems that your determination soul dragged- er… awakened me.]

"Wait, you know about my soul trait? Can you tell me more about it?"

[seriously, how incompetent is humanity…? Can't even retain general knowledge about magic? Sigh… ]

"Hey! Aren't you a human too? I feel a little offended!"

[you should buddy. Besides, I'm a weird ghost thing now.]

"Sigh… I need to get out of here. The regalia tournament is… still in a week… if time traveling did happen… what was that anyway? Some kind of super cool and ultra-hyper death-defying magic?!" Frisk asked with eagerness.

[... it's SAVE… with that… well you won't die. And you can even undo your mistakes from the past.]

"I knew it! If I use this power the orphanage will be saved!"

[orphanage? Really? You have a death-defying ability, which can turn back time and you choose to save an orphanage?] Chara somehow snorted despite being a ghost. [those don't even help anyone-]

"Shut up," Frisk said, his squinted eyes opened to it's fullest, revealing a crimson shine in them. His easygoing demeanor is replaced by a fierce expression.

"You really must be a ghost, that place is a heaven for people who lost their parents to nobles and beasts!"

[...did you lose your parents to nobles?]

"My mother has been missing since I was 4… and so is my father. "

[see? so you have no proof-]

"The last thing she left me before going was a letter. She said I should wait there and be wary of nobles. And that we would meet again soon enough. And so far, she's been right! I almost died to nobles!"

[you almost died to Az- Flowey]

"Tch…" he squinted his eyes again, just in case someone went at them again… "I need glasses or something…" he muttered.

30 minutes later (plus some questions)…

[ugh!]

"Ugh!"

"I'm sorry Toriel, but I'll go even if it's dangerous…"

[finally!]

Ring ring!
