AN: sorry for not uploading, but the chapters are definitely gonna come in slower this time around.

...

Frisk walked and tried to interact as little as possible with other monsters, soon enough he discovered what echo flowers do.

With Flowey as his guide, Frisk had to stay cautious, but he was mesmerized by the environment.

"Would echo flowers still repeat a conversation after it's been cut?" Frisk asked absentmindedly

"How the hell should I know?" Flowey grumbled.

[these flowers are a little complicated, they feed off of mana in the ground, so unless you feed it every 3 days, they would die in a pot. Unlike this weed here.]

"And you, what's your deal? Are you a plant elemental or something?" Frisk asked curiously.

Flowey grumbled even more, Frisk was still looking around him curiously and Chara was smiling while looking at the two.

"Alright, what's the way now?" Frisk asked, but before Flowey could answer…

"Yo! You're here to see Undyne too right?" a monster out of nowhere!

[!]

"Gah!" Frisk was about to fire a wind surge, but then he saw it was not a very menacing monster. "Er… my bad, you kinda scared me there-"

"I get it, I'm not supposed to be here too!" the monster kid seemed excited. "There have been rumors about a human staying near snowdin, maybe we'll see Undyne catch them around here!"

"Haha, yeah, I'd sure hate to be that human right now…" Frisk laughed awkwardly.

I just have to see what that scientist has to offer…

"Yeah! See you later dude." the monster kid tripped but quickly ran away from Frisk.

"Dammit, Flowey got out of my sight…" Frisk scowled. "Chara, can you please warn me of any other monsters?"

[what, are you afraid of kids too now? I thought you were a real mage] Chara said as Frisk walked

"Ugh, I…" Frisk tripped on a rock, " I don't have the magic I've been learning my whole life, I'm only using a fraction of what I know because of whatever dumb restriction this barrier has, innate magic, outright denied, summoning magic? Ha! Your connection with your summons (items) is severed, so I can only store so much at a time!" Frisk complained as he moved on. His white strand of hair grew a little.

[what about that elemental magic that you learned with Toriel?]

"Oh you mean the one I've been using for under 2 months? Or the circle magic which I'm still figuring out? I'm honestly impressed i haven't died trying!" half of his hair started coloring white, and one ear turned wolf-like. "Argh, I never felt so hopeless!" he made his

[hey, that never bugged you before though, what changed now?]

"None of your business girl." Frisk tripped over again, "Gah! This ! #$"

As he tired himself by cursing, Frisk eventually tired himself and took a breather.

[hey, get out of here! A monster is nearby…]

"Yoo… you trip a lot too?"

"Not my day," Frisk protested, but then…

"Yeah, I should be home, but seeing Undyne will be worth it!"

Clank, clank clank.

Hmm?

[That kid is not the monster I was talking about.] Chara clarified

Frisk hid under the tall grass, he sent a wily sound wisp to hear better.

"Ah! Undyne, good to see you, I'm here with my daily report…"

Dammit, I can't hear her, but I can't risk letting her notice the wisp… I don't know if they are as easy as papyrus…

"About that human, I talked about earlier- did I fight them? I fought him valiantly! Huh? Well, no they got away but… what? You'll take the human's soul yourself?"

Hmm… I'd like to see you try.

"But Undyne, you don't have to destroy them you see… y-you see…"

It seemed that Undyne scolded Papyrus.

"I … understand." Papyrus walked away."I need to warn the human, but Undyne is also my friend…"

Frisk let out a sigh of relief as he stood-

Clank clank…

?! she heard that?

Undyne slowly backed away.

After making sure to stay still for 5 minutes, he got out of the tall grass, but he didn't notice the monster kid going out.

"Huh, weird." Frisk shrugged it off and went deeper into the waterfalls.

He died against Aaron one time but he eventually got past him. Frisk was pacifying his way to victory because he could afford to and it brought less attention to him (and not the heaps of gold that the monsters kindly left), but he had to admit, for being monsters, they were way friendlier than the war-torn kingdom he lived in.

Eventually, papyrus gave him a call asking him what he was wearing for a friend.

"No, I'm actually wearing the same clothes that I had at your house, why would I have a tutu?" Frisk had unfortunately said this near an echo flower, this embarrassed him, while Chara was having the time of her death.

Well, perhaps other people have embarrassing moments near echo flowers as well. And so Frisk started hearing echo flowers and reading passages along the way, instead of laughing, however, he had an empty feeling when hearing these messages and yet, he couldn't stop listening to them.

Monsters have a goal as well, and the king carries out that goal. Monsters are gifted with magic naturally, but a human soul apparently is just better.

He trod carefully as the light in the caves started to dim, comforted by the sound of his steps, the smell of pure mana and the light of a magic attack-

Fwom…

Frisk narrowly dodged a blue spear, the rather deep cut in his cheek made him realize a simple fact.

Run!
