Chapter II
"Hey come on now… that murderous aura of yours…" I shivered. "Can you lower that? Pretty please?"
"Ehhh? Nya~ So you survived my attacks?" She looks at me intrigued.
I stared at my body which was covered with wounds. "I mean I wouldn't call this surviving."
"How about…" She pounced on me like a cat. It was so fast! This is definitely dangerous! This went on for a few more minutes which covered my body more with wounds.
"How are you still not dead?" The cat girl stared at me with a slight annoyance. "Don't humans die instantly when I punch a hole through their body?"
"What hole?" I showed her my stomach which was completely fine. "I think, honestly, we should just talk this out," I said with a hopeful smile.
A few minutes with this cat girl has been hell. My body had been aching and no way could I ever defeat her. My only way out now is to survive for as long as I can until reinforcements arrive.
I conjured my sword out.
"Oh~ How did you do that? Is that part of your nyen abilities?" She asks curiously.
They say curiosity killed the cat but I feel like this is going the opposite way!
"How did you even learn about nen…?" I twitched, "What if I tell you? Would you spare my oh-so-dear life?"
"I can just extract it from your brain!~" She pounced at me again as I dodged. "You aren't getting away from me."
Her attack was relentless and fast. Thankfully I could still dodge and parry her attacks. But there were no openings where I could counterattack. This is going absolutely nowhere.
I took a long distance away from her and took a readied stance. I slashed the air in her direction with my aura poured towards the attack. An invisible slash came at her full of aura.
She dodged the hit but it still gave her a cut. "Ah great! That was barely any damage at all! Fantastic," I grumbled.
"Show me more of your abilities! Nya~"
"How about no!" I blocked one of her attacks again.
…
The fight lasted all night.
"Come on let's just end this," I huffed heavily as I held my left shoulder. After all night I'd lost my left arm. While she stood there with only a few light wounds. "Clearly it's a stalemate." I stared at her, "I never expected us to go all night long… I mean if there's one thing I'm proud of… I guess it's my stamina."
"You're very talkative aren't you human?" She smiled like a cat.
"Thank you! It's one of my most defining traits," I smiled back. "And I have a name. It's Shiro."
She stared at me up and down, "Shiro, huh? Despite all my attacks, your wounds disappear after a while. What's up with that?"
"You know it's only polite to also introduce yourself isn't it?"
"Hmm~ Sure, the name given to me is Neferpitou," She says. "Remember it well human."
"No, again. My name is Shiro. I'd appreciate it if you could use it." I shrug, "But you know, it's nice to meet you Pitou. Been a wonderful night, honestly."
She lunged at me again which I dodged. I was somewhat getting used to her speed.
"Maybe I'm not as strong as I thought I was…?" She mutters to herself. "Nyaa~ Fine human I'll spare you for now."
I gasp, "Really?" Finally, all those sweet talks finally worked.
She started walking towards me which made me nervous but I stood my ground. Everything instinct in my body was telling me to run. But my rational side is telling me that's the worst idea.
"Hey… You aren't going to like still kill me, aren't you? Heh…" I laughed nervously. "Umm…"
"I will try to keep my word," Pitou laughs lightly. "If you become my plaything then I definitely won't kill you," She says walking closer.
"Hmm, okay okay. Better idea… How about friends? Eh? Eh? Pitou?" I shrugged. "Basically almost the same thing anyway."
"It depends… Can we still fight?"
"Ye- Yeah! As long as there is no killing," I answered quickly.
She hums, "But I can just learn how to heal you if you die."
"No! I- Uh, that sound's cool and all but I'd rather just avoid the whole dying thing." At this point, she was one foot away from me. Well, at least I don't sense any hostility. "But I have to say you're incredibly strong."
"But it's so much easier to just kill you. Then heal you. Nya~" She says holding out a hand to my chest. "Hmm~ Your hand…"
"Er… What about it? Pitou?"
She ignored me and went to grab my arm that was on the ground and went back to my side.
"I just have to fix it…" After a while, something came out of her tail, a puppet. It had a red cross on its shoulder, which I'm guessing is like medicine. It had pincers on its hands as well as different tools coming out of its stomach. "Doctor Blythe!"
The puppet was still floating, connected to Pitou by the tail.
"Put your hand up," She says trying to place it back.
"Uh… What's happening?"
Soon Doctor Blythe started to work on the arm trying to re-attach it. It… was working?
"So… Pitou?"
"Yes?"
"What are you doing..?"
"I'm fixing your arm for you," She smiles.
"And what for?"
"So we can fight more!" Pitou tilts her head cutely, "Isn't that what we agreed nyon~?"
"I- Maybe? I don't know?" I glanced at my hand slowly being 'fixed'. "Well as long as you don't kill me I guess." We both took a seat on the ground.
"Sure! Nyo~ killing."
Weren't we just killing each other earlier? What the hell is happening?
…
I hate how this kind of healing left stitch markings on my skin… Oh well, I'll just heal it on my own another time. At least it'll help me heal myself later much easier.
After about 3 hours later Pitou finally recalls Doctor Blythe away. During those hours I tried talking to her but she didn't give me much reaction.
"It's finished see," Pitou says proudly. "Now we get to fight again." She smiles.
"Okay. Uhmm," I stared into her red eyes. She didn't really seem to be keen on killing me anymore, based on my gut feeling. "How about we take a rest for now, eh? There's still tomorrow after all… Hehe," I said nervously.
Pitou hums, thinking for a moment. "That's true…" She approaches me and hugs my stomach making me fall over. "Nya~ Comfy…"
What the fuck is happening. A Chimera Ant is literally just using me as a pillow now. Before I could even say anything she was already snoring. Her tail swayed about before resting beside her.
She's… Definitely just a cat now.
I stared at her sleeping face. Then I saw her ears twitching. It reminds me of my cats back home, maybe I should try to go home soon. Hmm definitely beats being in dangerous situations like being a pillow for a certain Chimera Cat.
Against all my instinct I reach out my hand to her head to pat. I mean I had to! It's basically a crime to not do it. When I touched her head her hair was incredibly soft. "Nya~" Pitou purred, cutely.
I took my hand out. Nope. Too cute. It's too much for my heart.
What am I going to do?
