The Oliver house hold was alway a cheerful place. It had a beautiful garden outside and a small fenced pool. And James and Jan Oliver were two of the nicest people that anyone could meet. They were all about helping people and making the world a better place. Jan was a news paper reporter and James was a doctor. Usually, the house hold was nice and quiet during the mornings. But, one morning Tommy woke up and got the worst news that he could receive. His mother had been promoted and she was going to be the head reporter in Paris.
They would be leaving Angel Grove in a few short weeks and be relocating to Paris. They had found Tommy a nice boarding school to attend. It was called Paris' Finest Academy. It had a college next to it. It is called Pierre La France University. How could they do this to him? He had ranger duties, which he couldn't tell them about. He had friends and Kimberly. A girl he was in love with and didn't want to lose.
Normally, he never left home mad at his parents. But, today he did. He went straight to the youth center and found it was empty. It was Saturday morning and Kimberly usually met him her at 8:30. It was so unlike her to be late. So, he went outside to look for her. He walked out the back door and started to look for her. He heard somebody crying behind the dumpster. He walked over to the dumpster and saw it was Kimberly.
"Hey, are you okay?" Tommy asked as he took a seat next to her.
"No, I am not okay," Kimberly sobbed as Tommy put his arms around her. "I just found out this morning my mom is engaged to a French Painter. They have been dating for a year."
"Why didn't she tell you?" Tommy gasped as he raised an eye brow. "Surely she would have wanted you to know."
"She wanted to make sure everything was going to work out," Kimberly sighed. "And the worst part is that we will shortly be moving to Paris. I will be attending Paris' Finest Academy. It has a college next to it. It is called Pierre La France University. I don't want to go off and leave you-"
"-Kimberly, I have some news for you too," Tommy interrupted as he pulled Jan letter out of his pocket. He handed Kimberly the letter. "My mom got a new job position in Paris. And we will be moving to. She told me that I am going to attending Paris' Finest Academy. I was really upset because I didn't want to leave you. Looks, like we will be getting to stay together after all."
"I can't believe this has happened," Kimberly answered with a weak smile. "I was wanting to stay with you. But, I never wanted it to be like this. We will have to learn new language, get used to a new culture, a new school, and a new life style-"
"-Kim, I was upset too when all of that dawned on me this morning," Tommy revealed as he started to stroke her hair. "But, now that I know my best friend is going, it isn't going to be that scary. We can still spend time together and we will get to graduate together. After graduation, we will be of age. And we can come back to Angel Grove if we want to."
After a talk with Zordon and the other rangers, they all agreed that Tommy and Kimberly should still remain rangers. They could just teleport back to Angel Grove. They went back to the Oliver house, where James and Jan were ordering some pizzas. Caroline brought in a tall man with black hair. He was slim and was wearing a light tan turtleneck, black pants, a blue jacket, and a red Beret.
"You must be Kimberly," the man said as he ran up to her. "My name is Pierre Dumas. Caroline, she is beautiful. She's prefect-"
"-prefect for what?" Tommy interrupted. "Do you know something I don't? Because if you do, you will deal with me."
"Thomas James Oliver!" Jan gasped as she raised an eye brow in disbelief. "What has gotten into you?"
"Nothing mom," Tommy quickly said taking hold of Kimberly's hand. "I want her to be treated well."
"Tommy, I have heard a lot about you from Caroline," Pierre quickly said in a sweet voice. "I just never thought you would be so handsome. You are prefect-"
"-prefect for what?" Tommy answered in an angry tone.
"Tommy Oliver!" Jan scolded. "I'm not going to ask you again. Be polite!"
Tommy couldn't help from noticing that his mother's hazel eyes turned green. And then back to hazel. He looked over at his dad and noticed that his father's brown eyes turned green and back to green. Something was not right about them.
"I'm so sorry," Pierre started taking Caroline's hand. "I meant to say that he is so prefect for Kimberly. I can tell he really cares about her. I know it must be hard for her having to leave all her friends behind. But, I am sure it is comforting knowing that Tommy is moving to Paris too."
"Yes, Pierre, it is," Kimberly smiled when Tommy kissed her on the cheek. "He would be the one I would miss the most."
"Did you tell them that we are leaving first thing in the morning?" James asked.
"Yes, I almost forgot," Jan gasped. "I got a call from the TV station and they want me as soon as possible. Until we find a place of our own, Pierre was nice enough to let us stay in his mansion."
"I think you are going to love Paris," Caroline purred. "If I hadn't have become a fashion designer, I never would have met this wonderful man. He is an expert. He got all the fashion models to pose perfectly. My magazine is a hit. I am going to be the lead fashion designer in Paris. Everything is prefect."
"Kimberly, didn't you use to be in pageants?" Pierre asked in a sweet voice.
"Yes, but that was years ago," answered giving Tommy's hand a tight squeeze. "I am no longer interested in them-"
"-but, Caroline says you won Miss Pre-Teen Angel Grove and Miss Teen Angel Grove," Pierre interrupted as he looked over at Tommy. He saw he was making Tommy mad. "You are so beautiful to give up pageants. Haven't you seen that pageant winners become models. They can model for all kinds of things. And models makes a lot of money."
"Is this what this is all about?" Tommy asked in a calm voice. "You want her to be a model for you?"
"Not at all," Pierre answered trying to keep a straight face. His eyes were blinking and his hands were shaking. For some reason this boy didn't like him. Was it possible that he figured out his plans.
The door bell rang and James Answered it. The pizza delivery guy had dropped off two large super supreme pizzas, and a large pizza for Tommy and Kimberly. Their favorite. Half pepperoni and half sausage. He paid the delivery guy and sat the pizzas on the table.
"Hey mom would it be okay if Kim and I ate in my room?" Tommy asked. "We have got a lot of packing to do and I am sure she needs some time alone for things to sink in just like I do. We got really big news and I would like to have some alone. You know starting tomorrow, we are leaving our friends behind."
"Of course," Jan answered with a smile. "I think it would do you both some good."
Tommy opened the refrigerator and grabbed a sprite and doctor pepper. Kimberly grabbed their pizza, some paper plates, and some napkins. And the headed up stairs.
Authors note:
I know this is going a little fast. I am trying to show Tommy sensing something isn't right with his parents, Pierre, and Caroline.it will be revealed what is going on with them later. If you noticed the eyes turning green back to a normal color, I am trying to foreshadow up coming events.
