Kitagawa Family Genesis Part 3: Family
It had been a few weeks since Yusuke and Haru came home from their honeymoon in Paris. After arriving home, they bought and moved into a beautiful two story home, one that was big enough to not only hang up Yusuke's artworks, but also to raise a family that they can call their own.
We begin this tale on the front porch of their new home, where Yusuke was seen bringing his and Haru's breakfast out and placing it on the table that they have out there. On the menu this morning was eggs benedict. Yusuke also brought their cordless house phone outside in case someone wanted to get in contact with them. Yusuke took his seat and waited for his wife to arrive, but five minutes passed and there was no sign of Haru anywhere.
"I hope everything's okay," Yusuke worried to himself as the cordless house phone started to ring.
The blue haired man reached for the phone and looked at the caller ID to see that it was their local bank. Haru had just asked for a loan so she could open up the cafe of her dreams. Yusuke answers it to see who is on the other line.
"Hello," Yusuke answered the phone and allowed the person on the other end to speak. A smile appears on Yusuke's face as it's evident he's being given very good news, "That's fantastic! I'll tell her! Thank you!"
Yusuke hung up the phone just as Haru came out to the porch, a big smile on her face and carrying a small box. The floofy haired woman got next to her husband and started kissing his face and nuzzling his neck.
"My, someone's rather affectionate this morning," Yusuke said, "Not that I'm complaining mind you."
"I love you so much, Yusuke," Haru said as she continued nuzzling her husband, "I have some good news to share with you."
"What a coincidence," Yusuke smiled, "I have some good news to share with you too."
"You first," Haru said, "Not to brag, but I think my news will top whatever news you have."
"Okay then," Yusuke said as he cleared his throat, "The bank just called and they approved your request for a loan. You'll be getting your cafe after all."
"That's fantastic!" Haru cheered, "There's this building that I passed by the other day that would be perfect. It's a bit of a fixer-upper but nothing a little paint and a good cleaning won't fix. And I'm sure our friends would love to help out too. I already thought of a name, 'Cafe Kitamura'."
"It's a combination of my last name and your last name," Yusuke noticed.
"It was your love and support that inspired me to follow my dreams," Haru said, "Why not have both of our names attached to the cafe somehow? But, I'm rambling now, can I tell you my good news?"
"Go right ahead," Yusuke said.
"The good news is actually inside this box," Haru said as she handed Yusuke the box, "Go on, open it!"
Yusuke noticed the excited look on Haru's face and he opened the box to reveal…a positive pregnancy test! The blue haired man stared at the test in awe; his eyes widened and his mouth agape. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. He was currently living every good man's dream; a beautiful wife, with a beautiful home, and now he was going to be the father of said beautiful wife's baby. He was going to have a family and he couldn't have been happier.
"I'M GOING TO BE A FATHER!" Yusuke cheered with happy tears in his eyes as he hugged his wife, "Oh, Haru, this is so amazing!"
"Oh, Yusuke, I'm glad to see that you're so happy about this," Haru smiled.
"How could I not be," Yusuke said, "We're going to be a family! And just knowing that I get to start a family with someone as sweet and beautiful as you makes this news all the better! I love you, Haru!"
"I love you too, Yusuke," Haru said as she and Yusuke kissed each other.
After their lovefest, the couple sat themselves down to eat some breakfast. Yusuke poured himself a cup of coffee before offering some to Haru.
"Would you like some coffee, darling?" Yusuke said.
"I'd better not," Haru said, "You know, now that I'm pregnant, there are certain things I shouldn't ingest."
"I see," Yusuke said, "Sorry about that."
"It's fine," Haru said before getting hit with the magnitude that she wouldn't be able to have her favorite beverage for nine whole months, "This is going to be a long nine months."
"You can do it, Haru," Yusuke said, "I believe in you. And I'm here to support you through all of this."
"Thanks, babe," Haru smiled, "So, how do you want to tell our friends the news?"
"I might have an idea," Yusuke said.
We then cut to the interior of Cafe Leblanc later that day where Haru and Yusuke's friends, along with Sojiro and the other infants of the group, Minato, Nariko, Hotaru, and Himari, are gathered. The lot of them are standing in front of a camera, ready to have a group picture taken. Yusuke is getting the timer on the camera ready.
"I'm surprised you guys wanted to have a group photo," Ren said, "What's the occasion?"
"Why, we don't really have enough photos of all of us together," Yusuke said, "I figured we'd fix that mistake right here, right now."
"I guess," Futaba said, "Just make this quick, Inari, Yuuki and I have dinner plans."
"It'll be quick, Futaba, trust us," Haru said.
"Okay, the timer is all set," Yusuke said as he ran to his friends, ready to take the picture with them, "On the count of three, everybody smile."
"Got it, buddy," Ryuji said.
"Alright, ready?" Haru asked, "1…2…3!"
"Haru is pregnant!" Yusuke exclaimed just as the camera took the picture, catching everyone's shocked and delighted expressions.
"You're pregnant, Haru?" Makoto asked, happily.
"For real?!" Ryuji exclaimed, happily.
"Yup, we're going to be parents," Haru said proudly.
"Aw, man, that is so awesome!" Hayato said as he hugged Haru and shook Yusuke's hand, "Congratulations, the both of you!"
"You hear that, Minato," Ann mused toward her infant son, "You're getting a new playmate very soon."
Hearing that bit of good news made Baby Minato giggle.
"Congratulations, you two," Sojiro smiled, "I know you two will make great parents."
"Thank you, Sojiro," Yusuke said, "That means a lot."
With their friends kept in the loop, a very interesting nine months for the expecting parents is now underway.
Month #1
One month had passed since Haru and Yusuke learned that they were expecting, and the floofy haired woman already showed signs of pregnancy; her stomach started to swell a little bit and, according to Yusuke, she had more radiant skin complexion and hair color. He'd often tell Haru that she was more beautiful than usual and she looked like she was glowing, much to her joy.
One morning during this first month, Yusuke presents Haru with her breakfast, a nice stack of pancakes. They are outside on the porch once again.
"Eat up, darling," Yusuke said with a smile.
"Thanks sweetheart," Haru said gratefully as she eyed her pancakes.
"Is something the matter?" Yusuke asked.
"It seems to be missing something," Haru said, "Excuse me for just a second."
Haru went back into the house and returned moments later with a bottle of yellow mustard, which she put on her pancakes before eating them. Yusuke watched in confusion as Haru happily ate her 'mustard pancakes'.
"Cravings again?" Yusuke asked.
"Yeah," Haru said, "I've been craving mustard a lot this morning. No big deal."
"You've been craving a lot of weird things lately," Yusuke said…which seems to have rubbed Haru the wrong way.
"What do you mean by that, Yusuke?" Haru said, immediately switching from happy and pleasant to angry and irate on account of the moodswings.
"Uh, nothing, darling," Yusuke nervously said, "All I said was-"
"Do you think I'm weird," Haru asked with venom in her voice, "Do you think I'm fat?!"
"No" Yusuke cried, "When did I ever say you were-"
"Well, I'm sorry we can't all be lean and well built like you," Haru angrily cut her husband off, "You son of a-"
"Haru, calm down, please, I was just making note on your cravings," Yusuke said scared out of his mind, "I wasn't calling you anything. You're still a total goddess to me, my love."
Haru stayed silent as she looked at her husband and her look of anger quickly turned into a look of sadness. Within seconds, Haru began bawling her eyes out as she cried into Yusuke's shoulder.
"I'm sorry, Yusuke," Haru sobbed, "I know you'd never do or say anything to hurt me. I'm sorry I lost my temper. I love you so much, darling."
"Uh," went an uncomfortable Yusuke, who just rubbed his wife's back, "I love you too, Haru. And I know you love me."
Haru continued to cry into her husband's shoulder until she just stopped on a dime, returning to the happy woman she was before.
"Well, I'd better hurry and eat these pancakes before they get cold," Haru said in a cheerful tone as she continued eating her pancakes.
Yusuke was amazed and horrified. In the span of one minute Haru went from happy, to angry, to sad, and then back to happy again. There's no better way to say it, but pregnancy hormones had Haru lit.
"I'm not surviving this am I," Yusuke thought to himself as he continued to watch his wife eat her 'mustard pancakes'.
Month #4
A few months later, Haru is now four and a half months pregnant and she and Yusuke are seen approaching the hospital. They had heard about parenting classes that were going on there, and they figured they'd also use this as an opportunity to find out the gender of their baby. So, they called the hospital and set up a check-up for after the class.
The couple entered the hospital, asked the receptionist where the parenting classes were being held; the third floor, and then took the elevator up to the third floor before walking down the hall to the room where the class was being held. The teacher hadn't arrived yet, but they saw other expecting parents there…two of them being very familiar faces; Sumire and Ichiro.
"Sumire, Ichiro, hi!" Haru said.
"Oh, Yusuke, Haru," Sumire said, "What a surprise!"
"What are you two doing here," Yusuke asked, "You guys aren't…Wait a minute, are you?"
"Yup," Ichiro said happily, "We found out about two weeks ago."
"We're pregnant!" Sumire chimed in.
"Oh, congratulations," Haru said as she hugged the two gymnasts, "When were you planning on telling us?"
"We were planning on telling everyone this weekend, but I guess you two are the first ones to know," Sumire smiled.
"We trust you two can keep this a secret until later this weekend?" Ichiro asked.
"You can count on us," Yusuke said.
"But how are you doing, Haru," Sumire said as she rubbed Haru's belly, "I see your pregnancy is coming along nicely."
"Yeah, four and a half months already," Haru smiled, "I'm halfway there."
"After this we're going for a check-up so we can see what gender our baby is," Yusuke said.
"What are you guys hoping for?" Ichiro asked.
"As long as our baby is healthy, Ichiro, that's all we want," Yusuke said.
"I think that's all any parent hopes for," Sumire said as the nurse entered the room.
"Take a seat everyone," the nurse said in a warm tone, "It's time for class to begin."
All of the couples present took their seats and gave the nurse their undivided attention, each couple present getting one desk to share with two chairs to sit in.. As they sat down in front of their desks they saw a baby doll and baby care supplies.
"Good morning, everyone," the nurse greeted, "My name is Nurse Minamoto, and I'll be instructing you all on what to do when your bundles of joy come into the world. We'll be covering plenty of topics today so let's not waste any time. We'll begin with diapering. On your desks you'll see a baby doll, and next to it you'll find some diapers, baby wipes, a cloth, and ointment. If you look up towards me, I'll show you the process step-by-step."
As the nurse explained what to do, she was doing the actions that she was currently describing, slowly so that everyone could see it.
"First, you need to clean your little one's tushie until it's sparkly clean," Minamoto said as she wiped the bottom of her doll with a baby wipe, "Make sure you get every nook and cranny, and remember to wipe from front to back. Once you get all over your baby's buttocks and thighs, dry them off with a dry cloth and then apply the ointment."
Nurse Minamoto dries off her doll's bottom before applying ointment as her class observes and takes notes.
"Okay, now your baby is ready to be diapered," Minamoto said as she took out a disposable diaper, "First, you want to open your diaper up and slide it under your baby while gently lifting his/her legs and feet. The part with the adhesive stripes should be level with your baby's navel. Anyway, you then want to bring the front part of the diaper between your baby's legs and onto their belly. Then, you can bring the adhesive strips around and fasten snugly, but make sure the tape doesn't get stuck to your baby's skin."
Nurse Minamoto properly diapers her baby doll before showing her class.
"Alright, now you all try," Minamoto said as the couples began to diaper their baby doll. After a few minutes when everyone completed their diaperings, Minamoto went around to inspect everyone's work. Most everyone there performed average and satisfactory work, but when she got to Haru and Yusuke's doll, she was legitimately impressed.
"Wow, this is perfect!" Minamoto mused, "Not too loose but not too tight. The diaper runs symmetrically around your doll's body, and…" Minamoto takes a peek inside of the diaper, "Perfect amount of ointment. You two did an excellent job!"
"Thank you, miss," Yusuke said.
"It's not really that hard when you know what you're doing," Haru said.
"Right," Minamoto said, "Alright then, let's keep this class moving."
What follows is a brief montage of the other lessons the couples needed to learn when caring for a baby. These lessons include feeding, bathing, infant CPR, and carseat safety; Haru and Yusuke excelled at them all, and some of the other couples present, Sumire and Ichiro included, took notes from them. The Kitagawas were Nurse Minamoto's star students today. After a brief discussion about the stages of labor followed by some Lamaze breathing techniques, the lesson was concluded.
"That concludes our lesson for today, everyone," Minamoto said, "See you all next time."
As everyone piled out of the classroom, only Haru, Yusuke, Sumire, and Ichiro stayed behind. The latter two coming up to the former couple.
"Do you guys want to come with us and learn the sex of our baby?" Haru asked.
"We'd love to," Sumire said.
"Follow us," Yusuke said as he led his wife and friends to their doctor for Haru's check-up.
We cut to after Haru's check-up as she's seen sitting atop the exam table in the doctor's office, with Yusuke, Sumire, and Ichiro next to her. The doctor comes in with a clipboard carrying the results of the check-up, among them the gender of Haru's baby.
"Alright, Mrs. Kitagawa," The doctor said, "The results of your ultrasound came back, and everything is just fine. No problems whatsoever."
"That's wonderful, doctor," Haru smiled, "Thank you."
"You're welcome," The doctor said, "Now, would you, your husband, and your two friends like to know what you're having?"
Haru and Yusuke looked at each other and nodded.
"Yes, doctor," Haru said, "My husband and I would like to know what we're having."
"Okay then," The doctor said, "Mr. and Mrs. Kitagawa, I'm proud to say that…they're both girls!"
Haru and Yusuke smile and hug each other when they heard the news…but the celebration quickly died down when they played back what the doctor said in their heads.
"Wait," Yusuke said.
"Did…did he say," Haru said.
"Both!" Yusuke and Haru exclaimed.
"Yup," The doctor said happily, "You two are having twin girls!"
"Damn!" Sumire and Ichiro shouted (a la Craig and Smokey from 'Friday')
Yusuke and Haru just looked at each other, letting this recent development fully sink in.
"Well, you did say you wanted more than one child," Yusuke joked, "So I guess we're getting Child #2 sooner than expected."
"Shut up, Yusuke," Haru said in a deadpan tone, "Just shut up."
Month #8
A few months down the road and Haru is now eight months pregnant, meaning it was time for the baby shower! In the living room of the Kitagawa Residence, we see Haru and her girlfriends, Ann, Makoto, Sae, Shiho, Futaba, Hifumi, and Sumire in the living room eating cake and exchanging gifts. Not far from them, we see the likes of Minato, Hotaru, Himari, and Nariko playing happily in a playpen. Haru's friends came to the party bearing all the necessities like toys, clothes, car seats, high chairs, and other useful items. Meanwhile, Yusuke and his guy friends were upstairs finishing up the nursery.
It's also worth noting that Sumire is showing signs of her pregnancy, and Futaba has a small bump on her stomach, implying that she's expecting as well.
"So, only one month to go," Makoto said to Haru, "How do you feel?"
"Mostly I can't wait for this all to be over so I can drink coffee again," Haru answered, "On top of that I just want to be able to hold my daughters in my arms and look at their cute little faces."
"Aw, how sweet," Shiho said.
"But more than anything," Haru continued, "I'm honestly a little bit…"
"...Scared, guys," Yusuke said confiding to his guy friends as they worked on the nursery. As Yusuke, Ren, Yuuki, and Daisuke worked on painting the room Ryuta, Ryuji, Hayato, and Ichiro were assembling the furniture; the cradle, bookshelves, changing station, etc.
"What do you have to be scared about, Yusuke?" Hayato asked his friend.
"It's just that," Yusuke continued, "I don't know if I'll be a good father. I mean, I never knew my biological father and the father I got wasn't exactly the nicest guy. What if I turn out to be just as bad as them?"
"Relax, Yusuke," Daisuke said, "We know you. You're not only one of the coolest guys we know, but you'll become one of the coolest fathers that we know, and you'll pass that coolness down to your own kids. And besides, you can't be any worse of a parent than…"
"...Madarame or your own father, Haru," Ann said.
"And besides, you always have us to turn to if the going gets tough," Shiho chimed in.
"I know that," Haru said, "But there may come a time when Yusuke or me can't rely on you guys and we have to handle a situation regarding our children on our own, especially after I give birth to them. We're new parents after all and I fear that we're not ready for something like this."
"If you want, Haru, we could give you some advice," Makoto said.
"Right now?" Haru asked.
"Of course," Hifumi said with a nod before turning to Sumire and Futaba, "You two better listen and take notes too. After all, you'll be…"
"...Proud parents," Ryuji said as he wrapped his arm around Ichiro and Yuuki, "If we're going to be giving Yusuke some pointers we want to make sure you fathers-to-be listen in on what we have to say."
"Okay," Yuuki said.
"Please let go of me," Ichiro said as Ryuji released his two friends.
"Hope you don't mind if I join in," Ryuta said.
"No offense, Ryuta, but this is kind of a 'dad' thing," Ryuji said.
"Hey, I'm the oldest of three siblings, and the oldest child of this generation of Watanabes," Ryuta said, "That's kind of the same thing as being a father, right?"
"I took care of Makoto after our father died," Sae defended herself to her motherly friends, "That's close enough, right?"
"I guess so," Ann said with the shrug of her shoulders before turning to her three pregnant friends, "Okay, so first off, when it comes time to give birth to your little girls, say yes to morphine. It'll numb the pain some."
"If she doesn't take morphine, she will yell at you," Hayato said, "I know from experience. Hifumi nearly murdered me when she went into labor with Hotaru."
"Uh-huh," Yusuke, Ichiro, and Yuuki said.
"Next, from what I remember when my cousins were newborn babies, they will need to feed…a lot," Ryuta said.
"Expect to feed them every 1-3 hours after you give birth to them," Makoto said, "Naturally, expect your nipples to look like Ground Zero."
"Some nipple cream will help," Hifumi chimed in, "But you only have to deal with that for the first six months after they're born. Then you should be fine."
"Don't tell Makoto I said this, but I did not want to engage in breast play with Makie after Himari was done with them," Ryuji said.
"Focus, Ryuji," Ren said before turning to his three soon-to-be father friends, "Anyway, expect to change your babies' diapers every two to three hours."
"I read somewhere that babies urinate every one to three hours, and have two to five bowel movements a day," Sae said.
"Sounds about right," Shiho said.
"I'll assume they taught you three how to properly diaper a baby at your parenting classes?" Makoto asked.
"Are you kidding? Yusuke and I are naturals," Haru said as Futaba and Sumire nodded.
"It's also important to set up a sleeping routine," Daisuke said, "When your babies sleep, that's your cue to catch some 'zees'."
"Sounds simple enough," Yusuke said as Yuuki and Ichiro nodded their heads.
"Of course there are moments when your babies cry," Ann said, "Especially in the middle of the night."
"When that happens, go through a checklist to see if their needs are met," Hifumi explained, "Are they hungry, are they too cold or too hot, do they need to be changed. Stuff like that."
"And if those needs are met but they're still bawling their eyes out," Makoto chimed in, "Go through the 'Five S's' to silence their cries; swaddling, side/stomach position, sucking on pacifier, swaying, or shushing with a white noise machine."
"Well I guess it's a good thing you got a white noise machine for us then, Sae," Haru said as she pointed at said gift.
"You're welcome, Haru," Sae smiled.
"Spending quality time with your babies is paramount," Daisuke said, "It's quite simple actually. Play with them, read stories to them, make them laugh by tickling their stomachs, the usual stuff."
"It's also weirdly calming to have your baby use you as a bed," Ryuji said, "I remember one time when Himari laid herself on top of me and just started napping right there on my chest. I promise you, you'd never see a cuter sight anywhere else."
"I don't doubt that," Ichiro said, "Himari is a cute kid."
We then get a split screen of the girls in the living room on one side and the guys in the nursery on the right.
"And above all," Shiho said.
"Don't forget," Ren said.
"You can always turn to us for help," Ann, Ren, Ryuji, Makoto, Sae, Ryuta, Daisuke, Shiho, Hayato, and Hifumi said.
"You think you got all that?" Makoto asked.
"Are you three picking up what we're putting down?" Ryuji asked.
On the girls' side of the screen, Haru, Futaba, and Sumire nod confidently, while on the boys' side of the screen, Yusuke, Yuuki, and Ichiro nod and say 'Yup!'
With that, the girls hug each other and the guys high-five and shake hands as the former group goes back to celebrating their baby shower and the latter group goes back to finishing up the nursery.
Month #9: Showtime
It's another day at the Kitagawa Residence, Yusuke is working on a painting in his studio when he hears something from downstairs in the living room that causes him to break concentration.
"AAAAAAHHHHH!"
It sounded like Haru, and the scream that came from her was one of shock and pain. Understandably, Yusuke dropped everything and ran downstairs into the living room to see Haru clutching her stomach and standing over a small puddle of water. Yusuke realizes what this means as excitement and fear overwhelm him.
"Darling!" Yusuke exclaimed, "Does this mean what I think it means?!"
"Yes," Haru cried, "Our babies are coming!"
"We've gotta get to Takemi's Clinic right away!" Yusuke exclaimed.
Without missing a beat, Yusuke called up Takemi to tell her that they're on their way before picking up his wife in his arms, carrying her to their car. He placed his wife in the passenger seat before getting into the driver's seat to put the key in the ignition. Once the car started, he sped off for Takemi's Clinic.
As they drove, Haru was doing her best to practice her breathing exercises that she learned at the parenting class while Yusuke drove along.
"Just keep breathing, darling," Yusuke said in a calming tone, "You're doing great!"
"You shut the hell up!" Haru snapped, "You did this to me!"
"Uh, I, uh, I'm sorry, Haru," Yusuke babbled, unsure with how to answer.
"Just shut up and focus on driving," Haru said.
Not wanting to say anything else to his wife in fear that he'd incite more of her wrath, Yusuke kept his eyes glued to the road and pressed on to Takemi's Clinic.
Upon arriving at the clinic, Yusuke carried his wife in his arms into the clinic before gently setting her down on the bed.
"Morphine," Haru cried, "I need morphine!"
"Coming up," Takemi said as she took out a shot of morphine and gave it to the floofy haired woman, easing her pain just a little bit.
"Now what?" Yusuke asked.
"I need to see if your wife is at least 10 cm dilated," Takemi explained, "If she is, she's free to push your babies out of her. You two are having twins, right?"
"Yes," Yusuke said as both he and Takemi looked underneath the sundress Haru was wearing.
Unfortunately, when Yusuke saw what was underneath, he quickly fainted.
"What the-" Takemi said before picking Yusuke up and shaking him awake, "Focus, Yusuke!"
"Huh, what happened?" Yusuke asked as he regained consciousness.
"Your wife is 10 cm dilated," Takemi explained, "She's ready to deliver your babies."
"Alright," Yusuke said as he went next to his wife and held her hand, "This is it, darling, are you ready to become a mother?"
"Yes, Yusuke, yes I am," Haru said with a smile, "I'm sorry for yelling at you earlier."
In response, Yusuke just kissed his wife as he continued to hold her hand.
"It's quite alright, Haru," Yusuke said, "I love you."
"I love you too," Haru said before groaning in pain from another contraction.
"It's time, Haru," Takemi said as she slipped on some gloves, ready to deliver Haru and Yusuke's babies, "I want you to give me a really big push!"
Haru did what was instructed of her and she pushed with all of her might. Nothing happened after the first push, nor with the second push. With the third push, however, and with a loud scream, the sound of a baby's crying quickly filled the clinic; the first baby was out. As soon as the first Kitagawa girl came out, Takemi quickly cut her cord and cleaned her up before wrapping her up in a pink blanket and handing her to Yusuke. This first child had Yusuke's blue hair and Haru's brown eyes.
"Look, Haru," Yusuke said as he showed his wife the first of their daughters, "Isn't she beautiful?"
"She really is, darling," Haru smiled before focusing her attention back on the remaining child still inside her.
"Just give me one more push, Haru," Takemi said, "Your other daughter is almost here."
With one final push, the second Kitagawa twin was delivered as her cries were heard throughout the clinic. Like with the other twin, Takemi cut the second child's cord and cleaned her up before wrapping her up in a yellow blanket and handing her to Haru. This one had Haru's auburn hair and Yusuke's gray eyes.
"Our babies are here," Haru said, her eyes overflowing with happy tears.
"They're so beautiful," Yusuke said in awe, "I can't believe we're a family now! This is truly the best day of my life."
"Mine too," Haru concurred.
"Do you two know what you want to name your babies?" Takemi asked.
Haru and Yusuke looked at each other and nodded, remembering the names they wanted to give their children if they were girls, which they were.
"The blue haired one will be called Mitsu," Yusuke said.
"And the auburn haired one will be named Mana," Haru said.
"Mitsu and Mana Kitagawa," Takemi said, "Do you mind if I call them Mana and Mitsu? It rolls off the tongue easier."
"Okay," Haru said as she and Yusuke continued to admire their daughters.
After a while, some paramedics came to pick Haru, Mana and Mitsu up so they could take them from the clinic to the hospital as the clinic didn't have enough supplies to take care of the twins for the next few days, and Takemi wanted Haru to stay in the hospital for the next two days so she would get the proper care. Yusuke returned home to pack Haru's overnight bag with clothes, toiletries, and the clothes that they'd be bringing their new daughters home in before heading over to the hospital himself.
Later that night in Haru's hospital room, the floofy haired woman was seen lovingly breastfeeding her two new babies, who were now outfitted in pink onesies that the hospital provided them with, as Yusuke watched with a smile on his face. The woman he loved more than anything in the world feeding his two new daughters. To him, there was nothing more beautiful.
"I still can't believe it," Yusuke smiled, "We're parents now. Those are our children, Haru. I know this sounds corny, but I feel like my life has a new meaning behind it."
"It's not corny at all, my love," Haru said, "I feel the exact same way. They really are beautiful, aren't they?"
"Absolutely," Yusuke concurred.
Once Haru was done feeding her two babies, she and Yusuke put them down for a good night's sleep in the bassinet that the hospital provided them with. As they put their daughters down, their hearts melted as they saw Mana subconsciously snuggle up next to Mitsu.
"Aw, how cute is that?" Haru asked.
"Very cute," Yusuke said before turning to his wife, "They're so cute because you're their mother. And to me, you're the cutest, most beautiful woman on the planet."
"Aw, babe," Haru said as she kissed Yusuke on the lips.
The two of them continued to watch their daughters sleep in their bassinet as they started to think about where their lives would go now that they've become a family of four.
We end this story with a brief montage of the Kitagawa Family's lives over the next six months.
Scene #1: We see Haru and Yusuke bringing Mana and Mitsu home for the first time and showing them their new nursery.
Scene #2: It's nighttime and we see Haru and Yusuke reading their daughters to sleep.
Scene #3: We see Haru changing Mana's diaper as Yusuke changes Mitsu's diaper.
Scene #4: The parents are taking their daughters out for a stroll in Inokashira Park. A butterfly lands on Mana's nose, causing her to sneeze.
Scene #5: Haru and Yusuke are cheering their daughters up by making funny faces. It works like a charm as we see the two daughters laughing cutely.
Scene #6: Haru and Yusuke are seen in the bathroom giving their daughters a bath. As they cleaned them, Mana and Mitsu were sharing bath toys and playing around with the bubbles.
Scene #7: Haru and Yusuke's friends come over for a visit, and they bring along Minato, Nariko, Hotaru, and Himari. The adults watch as Mana and Mitsu happily play with the other four babies.
Scene #8: Haru and Yusuke are seen admiring their daughters as they nap peacefully in their nursery.
Scene #9: The final shot in this montage takes place six months after Mana and Mitsu's birth. We see Haru at the grand opening of her new cafe, Cafe Kitamura, as she presents it to a large crowd of people. They managed to fix it up after buying it, and as Haru predicted, all of hers and Yusuke's friends were happy to help. Speaking of which, Haru and Yusuke's friends were all present and accounted for. We see that Sumire and Ichiro have given birth to a baby girl, Kasumi II, or 'Kas' for short, and Futaba's pregnancy is advancing nicely. Haru proudly cuts the red ribbon and lets everyone inside. As the crowd piles into the cafe, Haru, Yusuke, and even Mana and Mitsu look at the cafe in pride.
At this moment, Haru and Yusuke felt like they had everything. They had each other, they had Haru's new cafe, and most importantly, they had two, beautiful bundles of joy to love and adore for the years to come.
The Kitagawa Family is now complete.
