At the Connor's Lab…
Everyone was doing their best to undo the effects of the Lizard DNA as Peter himself was having a bit of trouble with his own DNA.
Peter was having pain as Eddie was starting to notice that his little brother wasn't doing so hot. In the same way, as he did the other night. This was getting bad, Connors was on the verge, and if Petey began to change too, this would turn into a literal monster battle, one where both could end up dead. Eddie didn't know what to do but knew Petey had to get out of here. Dr. Martha Connors was already suspicious. He couldn't risk Peter being exposed.

Things were getting bad.
"Pete, do you need to get out? You're not looking too good." Eddie asked him as Peter was starting to shake.
"It's bad, Eddie. It wants to come out."
Eddie sighed as everyone was focused on curing Connors.
"L-listen, Pete's not feeling well. I'm going to take him to the bathroom and then get back to work." Eddie spoke out as Martha looked at him like an idiot.
"This can't wait, Eddie. Peter will just have to bear through it and keep working."
"Dr. Connors, it really can't wait."
He didn't let her argue as he quickly got him into the bathroom and locked it.
"Brock, what is wrong with you?! Bring him out here!"
"I can't!"
Things soon turned for the worse as the Lizard soon came! But Eddie knew that he was stopping a bad situation from becoming worse.
If only Martha knew before.
In the Bathroom…
While Eddie and Gwen were busy with the Lizard, Martha Connors went into the bathroom, breaking down the door for Peter.
He wasn't going to coward away!
But she soon realizes that there was much to fear than from a lizard.
From a webbed area, the beast appeared, growling as the torn parts of the clothing were seen.
She was stunned by the sight of the monster but then realized something more shocking!

The two doctors kissed, and Dr. Connors left while Dr. Connors (His wife) stayed to continue the tour. They were presented with genetic spiders within glass cases. Each one changed and altered for desired traits, yet the process has created them to be a mystery.
"Um…Dr. Conners, this display says there fifteen spiders." Gwen pointed out as the woman scientist chuckled a bit.
"Yes, there are fifteen genetically altered spiders in total." She confirmed as she was a little puzzled on why the girl pointed that out.
"Then why are there only fourteen?" She wondered, surprising Martha Connors as she looked into the glass tanks.
She was right, there were only fourteen.
"Maybe Curt took one to research. But just in case… Eddie, mind scoping out the lab a bit just in case." Martha requested from her assistance.
"On it. Sorry Bro, duty calls." Eddie smiled as he began searching around for the little creepy crawly missing.
He should have looked at the table closest to Pete, if he did, maybe it wouldn't have happened. All it took was a yelp of pain for Eddie to turn one-eighty! No… Not Petey, no one was watching or noticing so Eddie rushed to his side.
"What happened?"
"It's nothing… Just something bit me." Peter answered as Eddie looked at the table and there it was.
"Peter?"
"SHRIEK!" The monster bellowed at the woman, escaping the bathroom!
"Oh, what have we done…?"
When the Lizard got too close to Gwen, Eddie, and Billy, Peter retaliated as he clashed with the monster!
"Dad!" Billy screamed as Gwen grabbed him.
"Is that… Spider-man?" Gwen gasped as Eddie thought this would be perfect.
"Get the kid to safety, I need to help Dr. Connors finish the serum," Eddie ordered the girl.
"Ed-."
"Go! I'll be okay!"
Gwen was hesitant but did as she was told. The lizard was thrown around but bit his hand as the spider monster howled in pain! Eddie saw Martha as she got out to see him. He knew she wanted to talk to him after this.
"I will tell you everything once we get these two under control. I still think Peter is still in there since he's fighting the Lizard." Eddie advised, "We wait for him to pin him then shove the serum down his throat."
Martha agreed with a nod as they waited for the right moment.
The Man-Spider did the job as the Lizard was shrieking in his grasp.
It was time to end this before this becomes more of a slaughter…
At Doctor Connor's Lab…
Peter felt like he was floating…
Floating in darkness…
It was warm, steaming like he was in a sauna made of meatballs…

Peter rushed to the window to see his blond friend outside waiting for him on the ground.
"Eddie? What are you doing here?" Peter whispered, to not wake his Aunt May.
"Listen, you need to get down here. Now." Eddie ordered with a serious tone in his voice.
This wasn't good. When Eddie Brock talks like that, it is never good. Peter only hopes he has the strength to face whatever it is. Because he's feeling a little fatigued. With his spider powers, crawled outside as Eddie saw stunned by how thin he was.
"Pete, what happened to you?" He asked the boy as he noticed how skinny he was.
"I don't know, I woke up like this. I-I can't even remember what happened last night." Peter answered as Eddie looked more uncomfortable.
"Pete, you need to see what's behind the backyard."

Peter followed his brother in all but blood to his backyard, to find something truly horrifying thing before him. A giant shell of a spider monster (Drider) with a massive cavity in the back! Peter approached it, being careful that the creature was not still lurking despite it molting its exoskeleton. He gazed into the hole as it was dried and already occupied by little spiderwebs.
"Eddie, what is this?"
"Your shell."
Peter then touched it as it crumbled into pieces!

It was supposed to be a typical fight.
Bad guys try to steal, Spider-man appears, they fight, and he wins. But this was different, they got a good hit in, and with that, something woke up inside him.
"Gah, it burns!" Spider-man howled as the pain became too intense.
"Pete, what's wrong?"
"Ah, the poor little spider got a belly ache. We should put him out of his misery." The thug smirked as he was going to strike him down with a blunt object.
But the blow never came as the arm grabbed it mid-swing and began to grow harry. He became, bigger, and harrier, growing more limbs, more eyes, razor-sharp teeth, and acid dripping from his mouth. The man watched in horror as a swirl of steam which appeared from nowhere revealed the creature, the man spider!

"Eddie…" He croaked as he heard the blond laugh.
"I got you, Bro. Hold on." He assured him as he felt pulled out of the stickiness, his mind blurred, "Hey, let's find you a place to nap."
"Eddie, Camera… burn the pictures," Peter muttered.
"What pictures?" A woman questioned.
"Sure, sure, Buddy. In a sec."
Peter then felt soft fabrics and another presence. But he was too out of it to care at the moment. He'll deal with it after his nap…
Outside the Lab where the fight broke out…
Eddie collected the camera as it was filled with new pictures of the Lizard and of the Man-Spider.
"Peter took photos of that? He was going to give those to the Bugle?" Martha gasped.
"He was planning to find a headline story, but not really planning your husband's transformation. He was desperate for cash for his but… He doesn't want your husband exposed and wants me to destroy them." Eddie explained, "Not going to happen."
"What?"
"You know Pete's secret; you know he's a mutant. A secret like that could give you and the lab an extra grant for his unique DNA. Plus, being Spider-man, people would want him as a weapon. I can't have that." Eddie answered, "Don't worry, I won't sell these pictures. But I'll keep them as an insurance policy."
"Eddie, I don't know what you're thinking-."
"I'll tell you. I know you don't care for Petey, the way you acted earlier. But I do, I love him, more than just a brother and you of all people could understand what that type of love does to a person. I will do anything to protect him." Eddie snarled, "Martha Connors, despite working together and being generous towards me I will only give you this warning once. If you bring Peter Parker down, Curt Connors goes with him."
Martha was stunned by Brock's words.
"Martha? Eddie? Where are you?" Curt called out suddenly.
"We're feeling better now, and Mr. Connors came up with a story for the Bugle, one without the Lizard!" Peter shouted as well.
They both looked at each other and entered the Lab.
In the Labs…
Peter was well again and dressed up as Spider-man while Curt was examining the shell.
"Curt, you're okay!" Martha grinned as she hugged her husband, Eddie checked up on Peter.
"Yeah, thanks to Pete, I'm back to normal." Curt smiled as he gave the boy a pat on the back.
"Yeah and Mr. Connors wants to study the shell and me as Spider-man, to learn more about my powers, maybe what's going on with me." Peter grinned.
"I'll make sure to keep Peter's secret, but it might be good to learn more about this. We'll tell people Spider-man had offered to be researched and donates his shell, Pete can be recruited for the project for a bit of extra money, and he can sell pictures of the findings to the Bugle. Everyone wins."
"So, he told you about his situation."
"Yeah, he didn't want to publish those pictures, even to Help his aunt."
Eddie and Martha looked at each other, both vowing to keep a secret of what was really going on, and agreed to the idea.
The headlines soon made it to the city, bringing great interest.
'Spider or Man, Local Vigilante Donation to Science' is a winning scoop since the fabled Lizard was never photographed, only described. Well, except for the secret ones, Eddie kept hidden in his safe.
