At School…

Peter was a little worried about sitting with lunch.

Harry was angry and Gwen wasn't even talking to him. But he needed to face it sooner or later. He swallowed his fear and approached the group. If he can face bad guys and villains, he can do this.

"So, how's it going?" Peter stuttered but they were seemingly ignoring him, "Okay, so… should I move to another table or something?"

Harry sighed.

He couldn't be mad at Petey.

"Don't be a diff. So, you couldn't help me with my homework. I'm over it." Harry smiled as Peter was happy, he didn't lose him as a friend.

Peter smiled with joy as the intercom went on.

"Attention students, attention. Due to the injuries of one of our quarterbacks and the academic suspension of our backup, we are holding tryouts. Anyone interested can arrive after school on the football field."

Harry lit up with news, a chance to prove himself.

"This is great. I could join up." Harry grinned as this was the perfect chance to finally win over his father.

"Harry, you know that I am the positive one of the group, but do the words, 'concussions and physical damage' mean anything to you?" Gwen voiced.

"Yeah, Harry. These guys can really do a number on you if you tried." Peter added as he knew Flash was listening in on them.

"Hey, hey, where is the support? If you're worried, then why not join up with me?" Harry suggested it to him as Peter thought about it.

At Eddie's Dorm Later…

"What were you thinking? Do you want everyone to know you're Spider-man?" Eddie scolded the younger boy.

"I'm sorry. I said no at first, but-but Flash was going to gang up on Harry and I wanted to-."

"Of course. Of course." Eddie grunted in pure annoyance at the situation, "Every time you get into trouble in school, it's because of those two. Pete, you owe Osborn nothing, he should be sticking up for himself."

"It's just one time. Though I was pretty good, and a lot of people cheered me on…"

"One time, Pete. No more. If someone put two and two together…" Eddie warned Peter, not wanting him to be carted off, "Come on, we better get started on the patrol."

Peter sighed but put on.

"Remember Pete, low profile."

"Got it. Low Profile."

The Next Day at the High School….

Ugh, he still had some Sandman in his shoes after that tussle.

It seemed some bady went mutant as he did. Eddie took some of the Sand, to analyze and uncover where he was and how to stop him. Peter knew Eddie was right about him lying low and he wanted payback from the Sandman.

"Hey, Pete!" Liz greeted the geeky boy.

"Oh! H-hey Liz." Peter squeaked as the more popular kids came over.

"Man, you, and Osborn were really killing it. I think you guys have a shot to hit it big, especially you, Pete." Rand commented, causing Peter to blush a bit.

He was not used to so much praise.

"T-thanks." He stuttered.

"Keep up the good work and you might make the cut."

…Maybe one more game couldn't hurt. After all, who would really notice his abilities?

After School…

Peter was so happy that not only did he regain his friends, but to gain so much more.

Rand was right, he should open up more to people. The more he did, the bigger the circle. He just needed some confidence. It seemed that football was giving him confidence, and he began to feel so sociable. But as soon as he felt so happy, Harry came.

"Pete, I wanted to do this. I wanted to join. You weren't even interested in joining." Harry complained as Peter felt upset himself.

"Harry, you wanted me to join. I thought-."

"You were supposed to join to help me, not hog the spotlight, again!"

"Harry, when have I ever-?"

"Just forget it. Perfect Petey seems to get everything he wanted."

Harry then stormed off as Peter was dumbfounded. Why did Harry treat him this way? He was helping like Harry wanted and then he got dissed. When did he ever win? He didn't win when he got picked on, he didn't win when he is fighting villains with none of the credit, he didn't win when he lost Uncle Ben, he didn't win-.

Peter then stopped and felt something around his hand. It was a Man-Spider Hand!

"I gotta get to Eddie." He whispered then rushed off.
