The Daily Lives of the Owl Familia: P2:
The Titan will Bleed

Summary: Lilith comforts her nephew after she caught him doing something he shouldn't be doing.

"King Clawthorne! What are you doing, young titan?"

"Weh!" King screamed and dropped the needle he was holding.

He looked sheepishly at his aunt. Lilith was tipping her foot as she glared scoldingly at her nephew.

"I was-I mean, I'm," King sighed and looked at his aunt regretfully. "I was going to take more of my blood."

Lilith sighed and walked into the room that serves as the sisters' potions lab. Her expression softened slightly as she kneeled and looked King in the eyes.

"King," Lilith spoke softly, "I found it admirable that you want to help your sister. But we have enough of your blood. If we take any more, you could get sick."

King looked down at the needle, and sadness entered his large eyes. Lilith waited with patience for her nephew to collect his thoughts.

"I know that, but it just-" King sighed and looked Lilith in the eyes, "-It feels like I haven't done much lately."

Lilith became sympathetic and gently wrapped the young titan in a hug. "Don't say that. It was your idea that allowed us to defeat Belos. Who knows what would happen if you hadn't suggested that plan?"

Anger replaced King's sadness, and he gently pushed himself free.

"And what else?" he nearly screamed. "I'm a titan, but I can't do anything for my big sister!"

Lilith stood up as King began to pace in front of him. She frowned as she realized King was moving sluggishly. He stopped a few times and held his head as he moaned lightly.

She filed that into the back of her mind as King stopped pacing and looked at his aunt with pleading eyes.

"I just don't want to feel useless anymore," the young titan said weakly.

Lilith smiled warmly as she kneeled and hugged King again. She stood up with King in her arms and left the potion lab.

"Are you anything but useless, King," Lilith told her nephew motherly. "Just being here for Luz, for everyone when we're feeling sad is enough."

Lilith made her way across the living room and passed a napping Odaw and Rath. She climbed the stairs to the second floor and down the halls.

"But…hurting yourself when it's not needed isn't healthy," Lilith said, her tone getting more serious, "Trust me, I speak from experience."

She opened the door to King's room and smiled at the sight. Every single one of King's stuffed toys littered the room. Jean-Lac, King's guardian, was settled in a corner. She walked up to his bed and gently tucked him in.

"Now, rest and build your strength," Lilith said gently, kissing the top of her nephew's head.

King wanted to argue more, but Lilith stopped him with a glare. Instead, he settled into his bed and was soon fast asleep. Lilith watched to ensure King was sleeping before she left his room.

"Caught King's claw in the cookie jar again?" Eda asked as Lilith softly closed the door.

The older Clawthorne looked at her sister and saw no humor in Eda's eyes. Lilith just sighed and walked over to her sister.

"Can you blame him, sister?" Lilith asked remorsefully. "Titan's blood is the strongest source of magic in the demon realm."

The sisters made their way to the first floor as they continued to talk.

"Yeah," Eda moaned dejectedly, "But the kid's so little, his blood nowhere near that good yet."

Lilith nodded as the two reached the living room and fell into silence. Both sisters were thinking, hoping that Willis Oldstone's idea would work. That way, Eda could have her ray of light and happy demon back.

Suddenly, the door swing opened, and Hooty called to the sisters. "Hoot, Hoot. Eda, Lu-Lu, you have company."

Three familiar faces entered the room, two of which looked mildly disturbed. No doubt, they were freaked out by Hooty.

"Rainestorm?" Eda squeaked out, both surprised and happy to see her partner.

"Chairman Darius," Lilith said formally, "To what do we owe the visit?"

Darius tried to compose himself as look at the sisters. "Good afternoon, Clawthornes. There's something I would like to talk about with the two of you."

So, some of my supporters pointed out that using the trauma that Belos experienced in my stories against him should have had a similar effect on him when Gus tried to calm him down in the show.
I have a theory of why that failed in the show.
See, Gus was trying to calm down Belos by showing him happy memories, many of which involved Caleb. That was the problem; as we know, Philip blames everything that happened on his brother. So, his memories of his brother had become so twisted that he flew into a rage from just thinking about Caleb, as shown when he saw Flapjack.
What happened in my story was Gus using all the trauma he had endured when Luz was "knocked-down" on him a hundredfold.
