When Jaune opened his eyes he found himself in the very familiar setting of Tirpitz's medical bay. For the first few minutes he just stared at the ceiling, not doing anything. Then in one explosive movement threw his pillow at the wall, where it connected with a very satisfying 'THUMP'.
Collapsing back down on the bed Jaune let out a huge sigh. This was the third time in the span of two days that he had passed out and quite frankly he was getting tired of it. Standing up he stretched out his body trying to get rid of any soreness that might still be lingering from the use of his semblance. He found that there was none. In fact he felt great.
The stretched feeling of his aura was gone. The headache he had the past few days was gone and the stress his body had been under since yesterday was also gone. Jaune wasn't sure what happened exactly to make this happen but he chalked it up to his aura shattering after the use of his semblance.
Juane frowned at the thought of his semblance. Don't get him wrong he loved that he could save people with such life threatening wounds but every time he did it felt like his own body was being ripped apart and put back together at the same time. He also couldn't stop till the other person was healed or his own aura ran out. And with his reserves that took a longer time than your average hunter.
Shrugging his shoulders Jaune set off for the deck, figuring that Tirpitz, Enterprise, and the mystery girl would probably be there. As he made his way up and out of the ship Jaune glanced back at his rigging. He really wanted to figure out what his own ship would look like. Plus the thought of sailing around in a ship that not only dwarfed the largest Atlas flagship around but left it hopelessly outgunned with its secondary battery alone, brought a smile to his face.
Reaching the door that would lead him out onto the deck Jaune reached out to open it only to freeze. The blueprints that had refused to line up and had kept him from turning his rigging into his ship had aligned. Flinging the door open Jaune rushed out on deck and made a beeline for the railing, barely even noticing that it was night and that once again Tirpitz had the running lights turned off.
Leaping over the railing he let instinct guide him in calling forth his ship. There was a bright flash as his rigging broke into countless glowing blue cubes that rushed to form his ship. Landing on the deck Jaune couldn't help but gaze around in wonder. Here it was his own warship. It was also him but still.
It had twelve sixteen inch guns, twenty five inch dual purpose guns, forty 40mm bofors aa guns, sixty 20mm Oerlikon aa guns, and eight three inch autoloading aa guns, mounted in four dual mounts. His ship was 922 feet long and almost 121 feet wide, had a top speed of 30 knots, with 16.1 inches of inclined armor and anywhere from five to six inches of deck armor, four propellers, displaced just over 72,000 tons, and… And something was chewing on one of the propellers.
Jaune glanced back towards the stern and with a rather irritated look activated all four propellers. Turning whatever grimm was stupid enough to chew on his perfectly good ship into chum. For the next few minutes he wandered around the superstructure. Taking his time to just look at the various aa guns that were dotted all around the ship.
It was just as he turned to make his way to the bridge when he heard three thumps from down below.
"Jaune? Where are you?" Juane recognised Tirpitz's voice and moved to the railing of the upper deck to see if he could spot her.
"I still don't get it. Why is his name Jaune if it says Montanna on the hull and his nametag?" Jaune didn't recognize that voice. It must have been one of the two girls they had found recently. Enterprise and the other girl.
"Told you that he wasn't always like us."
Reaching the railing Jaune looked down towards the lower deck. Tirpitz was standing by the railing with Enterprise and the still as of yet unnamed girl.
"Hey guys up here!" Jaune called down to them. Looking up the trio spotted Jaune and soon they had made their way up to his position. Tirpitz was the first one to speak.
"Jaune, it's good to see you're feeling better."
"Yeah I'm actually feeling better than last time I used my semblance. I even managed to get my ship this time around."
"That's good, now we can start your combat training tomorrow." Jaune audibly gulped at that. She didn't have to make the last part sound so menacing. Turning toward the other two He tried to distract himself from his impending doom.
"Hi I'm Jaune. It's nice to meet you both." Jaune stuck his hand out and shook each of the girl's hands as they introduced themselves.
"Enterprise. It's good to meet you too. And thank you for saving my life." Jaune waved her off.
"Don't mention it. I always wanted to save people so it's no trouble for me."
"But still…" The second girl, having grown impatient butted in by grabbing and shaking his hand.
"I'm Sims, nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too." Now that introductions were over Tirpitz decided to move things forward.
"Jaune, do you mind explaining the situation to them? I've given them most of the details but you are more familiar with the world's situation than I do." Jaune shrugged.
"Sure we can do that while we explore the ship. I haven't been able to explore much before you came over." Enterprise gestured for him to lead the way.
"That sounds good."
For the next few hours they explored the massive warship. All the while Jaune filled them in on the world's situation. The Grimm, tensions between kingdoms, and the current failings of the kingdoms to protect their borders from the Grimm. By the time they had finished there was still some of the ship left to explore and the conversation drifted to more mundane topics.
Jaune told them about his sisters and in turn he learned about their own sisters. Sims had Hamman and Enterprise had Yorktown and Hornet. Soon they had finished exploring and they decided to turn in for the night. Each of them went to their own ships. Tirpitz to her battleship, Enterprise to her carrier, and Simes to her destroyer. Jaune would never say this out loud but when you compared Sims' ship to the ones around her, he found it kind of cute.
Shaking his head to get rid of those thoughts, Jaune headed toward his cabin. Something told him he would need as much rest as he could get for tomorrow.
