Chapter 3
"What is that pokemon?" May asked. "It looks like a Manaphy, but not quite."
"It's a Phione," Ash told her.
"A Phione?" Goh said, holding up his rotom phone.
"Phione, the sea drifter Pokemon. It lives in warm seas and can inflate the flotation sac on its head to drift and search for food," the rotom phone told Goh.
Phione, meanwhile, was looking around its surroundings until its eyes rested on Ash. "Phi-Phi–On?"
Ash looked startled for a second, then said, "Can you please not call me that?"
"Call you what?" asked Goh.
"How did you know what Phione said?" Chloe added.
"Uuh…well honestly…" Ash said, seeming to be deep in thought.
There was a moment of silence as everyone waited for Ash to answer.
"...I don't really know!" Ash said sheepishly.
May, Max, Goh, Chloe, and Pikachu all sweatdropped.
"So, it's those kids again," said Phantom, who was watching the group from the small camera/tracker he had attached to Phione. "There's something strange about that "Ash" kid though," he thought, "he seems to have something that he's hiding."
He decided to let go of the subject for the moment and turned his attention back to the camera.
Later that night…
Ash sighed, before crawling out of the tent. "It's useless, trying to sleep tonight," he thought as he began to walk along the beach.
Then he noticed that someone else was up too.
"Hey Phione, what's up?" Ash asked.
As soon as he did this, he heard Phione talking in Pokemon language, and, for the second time that day, the Pokemon talk merged into human speech that Ash could understand.
"You want to join the other Phione, right?" Ash asked Phione.
Phione nodded.
"And you don't know where to find them?" Ash inquired.
"Well, I know where you can go to find them!" Ash said.
"Phi–Phi, Phi–Phi–On?" Phione asked hopefully.
"Yes–and stop calling me that!" Ash told Phione for the second time.
"Phi Phi–Phi–On," Phione said playfully.
"I Told you, STOP CALLING ME CHOSEN ONE!" Ash said, sounding very annoyed.
"Ah, so that's what he's hiding, or at least, some of it," Phantom said.
"So he's the chosen one. No wonder he meets so many legendaries. If I could have that power, all the legendaries would come to me, and I could capture them all!" Phantom said, his mind brimming with evil schemes.
