Chapter 5
It was a peaceful night. No apparent danger in sight. The whole group was relaxing on the beach, watching the stars.
Kyogre had dropped them off at an island, promising Ash ( "How do you know what Kyogre's saying?!" "I don't know, I couldn't understand him last time!" ) That they were getting closer to their destination.
All of a sudden, a loud snarl came from a small forest behind them.
"Something's over there!" May exclaimed.
The whole group was on alert now, watching the forest intently.
They saw a figure step out of the shadows.
It was a Mightyena.
However, there was something off about it.
"There's something wrong with that Mightyena," Ash said.
Then he looked it in the eye.
Goh scanned it with his pokedex.
"Mightyena, the Bite Pokemon. Mightyena is the evolved form of Poochyena. They move primarily in packs, working together to capture their prey."
"I wonder where its pack is?" said Max.
"Yeah, It's all by itself," May said, looking concerned.
"Phi…" Phione looked sad.
"It's probably lost…" Chloe replied.
"We should help it, right Ash?" Goh asked.
But there was no reply from Ash.
"Ash?" Goh asked again.
Ash's eyes were tightly closed; His fists were clenched; his body was shaking uncontrollably.
"What's the matter, Ash?!" Goh said, really worried this time.
All of a sudden, A red light blinded them.
"We have put the Mightyena and the camera on the island, sir." A man said to Phantom.
"Excellent," Phantom said, turning to watch the footage of the camera they had secretly installed on the island.
Morning…
"Where's Ash?!" Everyone simultaneously said.
They had just woken up, confused as to what had happened the night before.
"Ok, so the last thing I remember is that this Mightyena appeared, and then there was a red flash," Goh said.
"Wait a second!" May said, very alarmed. "Where's Phione?!"
It was true.
Both Ash and Phione were missing.
"We have to search the Island!" Chloe said.
"Okay, Chloe and May, you go search the left side of the Island, and Max and I will search the right," Goh said, taking charge.
A few hours later…
"There's still no sign of Ash or Phione…" Chloe said.
"Don't worry, we'll find them soon," May said, still uncertain herself.
All at once, there was a loud crash in some nearby bushes.
Chloe and May backed away, not knowing whether it was a wild Pokemon or someone spying on them.
"Haxorus, use Outrage!" A voice from the bushes.
A Haxorus came out of the bushes, preparing to use its attack.
Then, "Wait, Haxorus!"
A girl with long purple hair stepped out of the bushes.
"Sorry, I thought you were a wild Pokemon," The girl said.
"Okay…" Chloe said.
"Oh, by the way, I'm Iris."
