Emilio perched himself on the edge of a chair.

"…..However, I recognize there is something between us. You are always willing to help, not just me, but anyone who asks. You treat Scorp as if he were your own. Your kindness and thoughtfulness don't go unnoticed. You are a champion for me, but you have champions of your own. Carmela, Hannah and Louis speak quite highly of you. I was reluctant to listen because I've met Marissa. I thought you had finally found your witch, so you couldn't be looking at me in a certain way. Carmela corrected me this past Saturday. Then Sunday evening as I laid in my bed, instead of thinking of Draco's embrace, I was thinking how I had to get up early to get your Guinness."

Emilio slid back in the chair. Was the witch of his dreams saying what he thought she was saying?

"I know my husband hasn't been gone long, but suddenly, I'm in agreement with the those who insist I look forward not back."

Emilio closed his eyes thinking, this is where I should speak. This is where I should say, I fell in love with Hermione Granger the Lobbyist and never fell out of love.

"Have I shocked you silent Emilio?" Asked Hermione. "If I've missed the mark, tell me."

Emilio finally found his voice. "You have neither shocked me silent nor missed the mark. It took me a long time to accept you had married and were out of my life. Don't get me wrong. I worshipped you from afar, but always wished you well. Then Draco died and all the old feelings resurfaced. If you are sitting across from me telling me there might be a chance for us, I am telling you I'll accept any terms you set to make it so."

Hermione took a deep breath which she let out ever so slowly. "So it's out there then. I acknowledge my interest in you, and you have acknowledged your interest in me. Shall we begin as friends with expectations?"

"We are already friends Hermione. I look forward to discussing expectations."

A Tale Of Two Wizards Full Circle: Chapter 31

Back at the hotel, Kim was beginning to lose her temper. It was coming on 9:00 pm. Where in bloody hell was Matt? Kim was beginning to believe Matt was intentionally staying away because he expected her to turn up when he stepped through the doors heading directly for the bedroom. He was halfway across the room before realizing Kim was in the suite.

It had been a long day, and Matt was thinking of nothing other than a shower and the bed. Now it appeared he'd have to spend half the night listening to Kim rant.

"Hello Kim. Why are you here?"

"Hello Matt. I'm here to find out why you locked me out of my own home."

"You don't have a home Kim. At last not with me," snapped Matt. "You gave that up when you threw your rings at me. You've made a choice to leave. Keep to it. I've accepted that you will always use any manner possible to have your way. I will not tolerate your antagonistic behavior, your foul taunts, or your threats. I'm at a critical juncture in my new position. There is a lot expected of me, and I need to be at my best. Arguing and parrying back and forth with you does not help. I suggest you go back to Milan, find yourself a flat and get on with your life. At this point in time, it's my belief we are better off separated."

Kim had expected this, but wasn't ready to go rent her own flat. She was Kim Lozio and wouldn't be going back to Kim Reina, real estate agent on the lookout for a potential suitor. As much as she bitched Matt out, she wanted a life with him, especially since he had just become Head of one of the most powerful, international companies in London. She wanted what Hermione had had. A life on the arm of a powerful and important wizard.

"I don't want to separate Matt. The last time we spoke was in anger. I'm first to admit there has been quite a bit of anger between us over the past few months. I was angry you chose to uproot our lives. I was angry you had to be the point wizard after Draco's death. I was angry you made the decision not to have children. My anger was eating me up inside and I lashed out….."

"Really?" Matt asked sarcastically, cutting across Kim. "I'm over what you think, or what you want. Is this your idea of an apology? I've heard it all before. Every fucking thing wrong in our marriage is my fault. If you say it is, then it is. I don't want an apology. In fact, I'm wondering why you have lingered this long in London. You do remember threatening to never step foot here again."

Kim was caught in her own web, but intended to push on. "You're right. I don't want us to be in London, but….."

"No buts Kim." Matt replied, cutting her off once again. "My main home will be in London. Yours will be wherever you choose it to be. If that's all, I'll excuse myself. I'd like a shower and bed. Please show yourself out."

Matt turned to leave the room. As he did, Kim shouted at him. "I'm not going anywhere until I get my rings. They belong to me."

"Again with the selective memory Kim," roared Matt. "You threw them at me. You wanted to be free to push up on anyone you wished. I've given you your wish. Go push up on another lad. Maybe he'll put up with the bull shite you put out. I'm done. If you don't want a separation to give us both some space, I suggest you file for divorce. Tell the Magistrate I'm always wrong. I'm sure he'll come down on your side. If you are interested in items you've left in my Milan home, call me for an appointment. I'll try to fit you in. Now goodnight."

Kim made a circle around the room huffing as she went. When she realized Matt was not coming back into the living room, she uttered a vile threat. "It's finally clear. You don't want me in your home or your bed. You are obviously sticking your dick somewhere. Could it be that Hermione Malfoy has finally spread her legs for you? If she has, I'll drag her arse through the mud along with yours. Fuck you Matt Lozio. Just try to divorce me."

Once Kim left the suite, Matt who had been sitting on the side of the bed, came out to lock and spell the door so no one could gain entry without his authorization. Even though this was a magical hotel, he didn't have authorization to change the door codes, so he'd have to speak to the front desk to have it done. Matt put it on his list of first things to do in the morning. After pouring himself a brandy and drinking it down in one, Matt headed directly to bed.

/*/

Emilio drank three Guinness while he and Hermione continued to sort things out.

"We both now know what's what, so let's make it easy." Hermione suggested. "You've taken on a high profile, important position which will need all of your attention. It'll be three weeks or more before you've settled yourself into MCC. During that time, we'll leave things between us as they are. Regarding Living Portraits, Hannah, Carmela and I will continue to work the administrative and marketing ends, but hold off on the photography bit until you have time to work with me-us. At that time, you and I will take a next step."

Emilio shifted in his chair. He had hoped for a different outcome. An outcome that entailed Hermione leaving Scorp with a babysitter and spending time with him in whatever hotel or rental he secured for himself. However, with the decision he and Hermione had come to, Emilio couldn't complain. It might take three weeks to a month, but at the end of it all, he and Hermione would get together. That he could live with.

"I understand what you are saying Hermione, but I was hoping to be wrapped up in your arms." Glancing at his Wonder Wizard Watch which was showing 8:40, Emilio joked. "By 8:40."

Hermione laughed out loud. "Slow down Mr. Lozier. I've agreed on a timeframe for certain things, but certain other things are negotiable. For instance." She said gesturing for Emilio to sit beside her. "When we are alone, you may drink your Guinness while I'm wrapped up in your arms. In addition…."

Emilio snapped to attention. "I believe I'm going to like this part."

Hermione smiled as she held up a hand. "I've always admired your sense of humor, but.."

"No buts love. I can call you love in private, can't I?"

"If you would allow me to finish my sentence, I'll explain what I meant."

Grinning, Emilio turned the bottle of beer up to his mouth.

"You may kiss me as well when we are in private. In company, we remain as friends. And yes, you may call me love in private."

Emilio was thrilled. Only in the darkest of night had he seen things coming to this. Only in his dreams. Moving closer to Hermione, he gently kissed her forehead. "This last hour has been the most amazing hour of my life. I can promise you here and now, when we are back together, I'll be the best suitor you can imagine. May I have my second first kiss?"

"You may," Hermione replied as she put her arms around his neck. "In fact, you may have two kisses Mr. Lozier."

As he had in the past, Emilio held Hermione as though she was some delicate ornament, but when their lips met, he felt the old fire in his chest and couldn't help but crush her lips with his. "I've never stopped loving you Hermione." Emilio whispered as he ran his lips across Hermione's ear. "Not for one day. You cannot imagine what this second chance means to me."

"It will be a second chance for us both Emilio, and we will make the most of it."

"Yes we will."

"Now. You may have the last kiss of the night at the front doors, and be on your way. You are under work constraints while I'm not."

"I'll take my last kiss of the night, but I'll admit to wanting more." Emilio whispered as he and Hermione walked to the doors. "Perhaps, during the coming weeks, you'll take a midday nap and allow me to visit after work. I won't approach your door after 9:30."

"I'll think about that. Harry and Hannah will think I'm sick if I start taking naps in the middle of the day, but maybe we can work something out. Give me my kiss and be on your way."

"I can do that my beautiful witch." He said, before pulling Hermione close. As they broke away from the kiss, Emilio added one last comment. "I look forward to seeing you and these lips very soon. Goodnight."

/*/

Although he wouldn't address it with Hermione in fear of being told off for getting in her business, Louis muttered a very soft, well done when he heard the door close behind Emilio. "Very well done my dear. On to the future."

/*/

Even though it was late, Emilio took Matt's suggestion to book an extended stay hotel suite even though he planned to spend mornings and early afternoons in Milan. There was so much to be done. First of which would be to let his parents know he was as good as gone from Milan. He'd have to call a last meeting with the vendors who had served The Ministry so well over the past years. In addition, he'd have to find a permanent home in Britain.

Emilio fretted a bit more before reminding himself that no matter what had to be done, it boiled down to nothing when put into perspective. He and Hermione were getting back together. Everything else was no more than a small pimple on his arse.

After having one brandy from the well stocked bar, Emilio stepped into the shower where his interactions with Hermione rolled over him. After six years, he had held and kissed the witch he loved, with a promise of more to come. Nothing else really mattered.

/*/

After Emilio left, Hermione curled up on the couch with a glass of wine to think about what she had admitted and what she had agreed to. In no way did she want to disrespect Draco's memory, but as Carmela, Louis and Hannah had told her, and she had told Emilio. She wanted to look forward to the future.

Taking another sip from her fourth glass of wine, Hermione fell into her cups and became a bit maudlin. She had cast Emilio away once, over something that had not been true, even after she had laid naked and spread eagle in Draco's bed. The truth was, she was the vile one. The one who….. Hermione took another sip of wine. She wasn't disparaging her husband or their marriage, but those sudden overwhelming feelings of love and lust for Draco could be suspect when looked at in the right light. There had been times during her marriage the thought had crossed her mind that her relationship with Draco might only have occurred because of that blasted blood feud. Then Draco would kiss her or shag her and the thought disappeared into the back of her mind.

A few scattered tears rolled down Hermione's face. Hermione didn't know if the tears were over her dead husband, her treachery all those years ago, or the fact she would get another chance at a lasting relationship.

"I've obviously had too much wine." Hermione mumbled, stumbling as she stood up to wave her wand around to clean up. "I might not deserve two loves in one lifetime, but my son deserves a wizard who loves him, and will have one."

Hermione stumbled her way up the stairs and stopped in Scorp's room. Gazing at her perfect son, she whispered a promise. "You weren't allowed a father who would see you grow up, but we have another wizard who loves us. We go from here. Sleep well little man."

/**/

First thing Tuesday morning, Matt left instructions with the front desk wizard to have the codes changed on his suite. The wizard assured Matt it would be done before 10:00 am. The tension that had been wreaking havoc with Matt's neck and shoulders dissolved. Today would be a banner day at MCC. He wanted to be at his best, and now, he was.

First thing Tuesday morning, Emilio left messages for Matt and Gas advising them he had taken an extended stay suite at the Wizarding Luxe Hotel, and reminded them he would be in Milan until 1:00 pm. He also rang Hermione.

First thing Tuesday morning, Hermione was in the kitchen fixing breakfast for Scorp. She and Scorp had just begun to eat when her mobile rang. Emilio just wanted to say good morning before starting his day, and remind her that his two kiss per day limit was beginning to add up. Hermione grinned all through breakfast. She decided it would be a good day to make whatever financial changes necessary and clean out Draco's closet as well.

First thing Tuesday morning, Harry tried to call Hermione to check on her and wish her and Scorp a good day, but got a busy signal. Harry didn't leave a message figuring he would speak to Hermione that evening.

First thing Tuesday morning, Hannah was up messing about waiting for Harry to leave for The Ministry. She hadn't made it to Hermione's on Monday and was dying to find out about the surprise. Hannah planned an early morning visit to Malfoy Estate.

First thing Tuesday, Gaspare had a leisurely breakfast with Seana, after which, he kissed her, grabbed his wand and case and flooed to MCC. With magazine and newspaper articles scheduled to be released, Gas looked forward to a very busy day.

First thing Tuesday morning, Kim consulted a magical locksmith to open the door to her and Matt's home. The locksmith being an honest individual didn't understand why a woman who claimed to live there needed his services. He declined the job and reported Kim to Ministry Services. Because of who she was, Kim was given a talking to but not detained. Not wanting to get in the middle of Matt's business, neither Fausto nor Xavier notified him.

After speaking to Hermione, Emilio picked up a portkey to Milan where he was at his desk at 9:00 am sharp. Emilio had a quick meeting with Wallace before attending the first of two scheduled meetings with vendors. Wallace suggested instead of Emilio setting up a last meeting with vendors, they send out a mailing thanking them for their diligence. Emilio agreed. Anything that would get the job done.

Emilio was in and out of the meetings by 12:45. He wanted to stop by his parents, but today was not going to be the day. Wallace and the Junior had everything under control so Emilio was free to work on a few MCC items. He worked until 1:30 Milan time, spoke to Wallace then hurried to his return portkey. Emilio made it to Matt's office at 12:55 London time.

Matt was on the mobile when Emilio entered the office, but gestured for him to have a seat. From Matt's end of the conversation, it seemed as though he was fielding compliments. As Matt continued thanking someone, he handed Emilio copies of The Daily Prophet, The London Guardian and The British Times. All of which prominently featured Emilio, Gas and himself.

Matt finally disconnected from his call to grin at Emilio. "I've been receiving calls non-stop. One would think I didn't have an assistant, or a business line. Gas has been fielding just as many calls only his callers recognize he has a business line. Blast me for my must have a mobile directive. I imagine your assistant has just as many messages for you. What do you think? Have we started out on the right foot?" Matt looked more closely at Emilio. "What's going on with you? You are grinning."

Emilio laughed. "I'm happy. We are on the front pages and covers of almost every newspaper and magazine within a hundred mile radius. What's not to like?"

"Come on cousin. I've known you for over six years. Not only are you grinning, there is a positive blush across your face. Have you…? You dog. You've done something, haven't you?"

"I've done nothing. I'm just excited to be part of MCC. Speaking of which, I'll be getting to my office to work on my part of tomorrow's presentation. I just stopped by to let you know I am here."

"Bull shite." Matt clapped back. Then, as if he knew exactly what was going on, Matt lowered his voice. "Your grinning countenance leads me to believe your surprise was a good one. Did you and Hermione …?"

"Of course we didn't." Emilio responded in a huff. "You are my favored cousin, but right now you are out of bounds. The last thing I'd want is for a bit of gossip like that to get around MCC."

Matt knew he had once again gone too far. "Calm down Emilio. I apologize for my thoughtless words. However, you are taking me too seriously. It's just you and me here. Who would bandy about your lack of a love life? Certainly not me. Besides, I was only inquiring."

With the grin back on his face, Emilio rose from the chair. "You call it inquiring. I call it nosing cousin. What time is the meeting this afternoon?"

"I've called the meeting for 5:45 in the conference room down the hall. It will just be the seven of us. It will be a late night. I want us to have all ducks in a row before the investors meeting tomorrow. About that other thing, you know, the surprise. I expect to hear just what has you so…. happy."

"I'll see you later Matt. I need to stop by Gas to see if he has any tips for me."

Not that he expected to be at Hermione's door every day of the week, but Emilio was disappointed he'd be tied up until all hours. He really didn't want his two kiss limit piling up. As he approached Gas' office, Emilio straightened his shoulders. It was time to get his head into this most important game.

/*/

Hannah came through about 9:30. After greeting Louis and Scorp, Hannah turned a penetrating gaze on Hermione. "So?'

"So, what Hannah?"

"You know so what. I would have been here yesterday to nose around, but two of my bloody employees called out. I worked my arse off. Anyway, if you're going to act dumb and blind, I'll come right out with it. What was the surprise, and how did he take it?"

"You worked your arse off, yet here you are at the near crack of dawn snooping about a joke gift. I think you need sleep."

"Way to try to change the subject Mrs. Malfoy. If it was such a joke gift, why not just come out with it."

"Oh for Merlin's sake Hannah. I gave Emilio a case of Guinness Stout Beer. It was an old joke from back when he was a Wizengamot Clerk. Happy now? I wish you could see your face. All this fuss over nothing."

Hannah laughed so loud Scorp came running. "Auntie Hannah laughing so big."

"Yes Scorp. Your Auntie Hannah is laughing loud and big."

Hannah laughed even harder.

"Scorp love. Go back and watch the telly. If you're good, we'll take a trip to Diagon Alley."

"Okay mum. Bye Auntie Hannah."

With Scorp safely out of the room, Hannah whispered. "A case of beer? And there was me thinking the surprise had something to do with the meeting of body parts. I stand corrected."

Hermione smiled at her best friend. "I love you Hannah, but we've been over this. You need to stop. It's embarrassing to me and probably Emilio as well. You'll be first to know when I shag him. Is that satisfactory?"

"So, you do plan to shag him. Tell me when and where. I'll be in the front row."

"You are incorrigible."

"I am that," countered Hannah. "Now that I've gotten the lowdown, dismal as it is. I'm going home to sleep. Talk to you tomorrow. Love you. Bye."

/*/

Almost before Hannah had her feet planted on her living room floor, she had her mobile out to dial Carmela who answered on the second ring.

Hello love. I've just gotten the last Traveler out and I'm sitting with Sal and Seth. I'll call you back.

Alright Mela. I'll talk to you later. We have things to discuss.

Hannah had wanted to discuss things with Carmela. Things that weren't her business, but important nonetheless. From the look on Hermione's face and her sad arsed description of the surprise, Hannah was sure more had gone on. She just wanted to verify her suspicions with Carmela. She couldn't possibly discuss it with Harry, because he was such an arse when it came to Hermione.

Hannah did want to speak to Carmela, but she was tired. Once she laid her head on the pillow, she was out like a light within minutes. Carmela returned Hannah's call around 11:30, but the mobile just rang and rang. Carmela decided to call back after work.

/*/

The breakfast remains were cleared up, the kitchen was clean as was the living room. Hermione decided she and Scorp would visit Diagon Alley so she could transact some business and get out of the house for a while.

"Crissy. Please come take Scorp to potty then find him a long sleeved jumper."

Scorp was at her elbow in a heartbeat. "Are we going on a venture mum? I like ventures."

"Yes love. We are going on an ad-ven-ture. Go with Crissy to get ready."

Hermione summoned her own long sleeved jumper while she waited for Crissy to bring Scorp down. She also took a quick minute in the main loo to inspect herself in the full length mirror. For the first time in a while, Hermione cared about how she looked. She declared herself passable. There was some color in her cheeks, and she looked fashionable. When she walked back into the living room, Crissy had Scorp by the hand, waiting.

"Alright young man. Let's get on our way."

Before dismissing Crissy, Hermione asked that she have toasted cheese sandwiches, chips and juice for Scorp's lunch ready by 1:30 pm.

"Yes Mrs. I'll be having Scorp's lunch ready."

Pop. Crissy was gone.

"Come on Scorp. Let's go attend to our business."

/*/

Hermione easily attended to her business. The longest time she had spent in one place was at Gringotts where she made the necessary changes to her accounts. The Head goblin saw to everything. When she was finished, everything was in either her name or Scorp's. Draco Malfoy had passed. When they passed a side street and there was a view of The Wizarding Luxe Hotel, Hermione pointed out the building telling Scorp that was where Emilio and Uncle Matt were staying.

"Uncle Matt and Meelio," gushed Scorp. "Let's go see them mum. Please."

"Maybe another time love. They are very busy at work right now. Besides, I want you to remember that polite wizards just don't show up at someone's door. You must make an appointment or wait for an invitation."

"Okay mum," replied Scorp with a laugh. "But Uncle Matt and Meelio love us. They won't care if we knock on the door."

"Well sweetheart. Perhaps we should ask them before taking things for granted."

Scorp shrugged, but didn't reply. He was sure it would be alright to knock on Meelio's door.

Hermione also stopped off at the Squib owned shop that catered to the less fortunate wizarding citizens to drop off Draco's clothing and essentials which could be put to good use. The donation hurt as well as empowered Hermione, but she left the shop feeling as though she had done the right thing.

There were a few more stops to get Scorp and herself a few outfits. As they came upon Diagon Place, Scorp noticed a food shop and told Hermione he was hungry.

"Alright love. I'm finished with my errands. Let's get back home. Crissy has your favorite lunch waiting for you."

"Yay! I want my favorite lunch."

Hermione grinned as she pulled Scorp and herself into Apparition. Hermione was chuffed to get back home. There was an Owl she needed to send.

/*/

Once she and Scorp arrived home, Hermione made sure Scorp used the potty, washed up and was ensconced at the kitchen table eating lunch before she sent her Owl.

Good day Mr. Lozier. I hope all is well. Tomorrow will be four.

After sending the Owl, Hermione joined Scorp in the kitchen, although the churning in her stomach wouldn't allow her to share in his enjoyment of the toasted cheese sandwiches.

She wanted those kisses from Emilio Lozier, and more.

/*/

The meeting had gone well. Emilio was back at his desk looking over the messages he had received. One from his mother and father. He'd get back to them. One from Wallace which he immediately returned, and one from Hermione which made him smile.

Emilio was still smiling when Matt stopped by his office.

Even though Emilio had hurriedly put Hermione's message away, Matt commented. "I couldn't help see what you've tried to hide. What is it in a message from Hermione that has put such a smile on your face?"

"Nothing to do with you."

"Fine cousin. I'll still ask. Why does, tomorrow will be four, put such a smile on your face?"

Emilio remained silent for a few seconds. "Because you are my most ardent supporter, I'll explain what Hermione's Owl means. She and I have come to terms. Hermione has expressed interest in me and I in her. She and I will remain as friends in the public face, but are more in private. We have not been intimate and may not be for a time, but we are committed."

"No fucking way." Matt sputtered. "You've done it then. You've gotten the witch of your dreams."

Emilio replied softly. "I think I have cousin, and I am in flux. I want that witch Matt. I want her so badly. Although it is laughable that I was once her wizard but never had intimate knowledge of her, I believe this time will be different. I believe we are working towards intimacy."

Matt plopped down in a chair. "I don't believe it. Does this have anything to do with that surprise? Start at the beginning and tell me everything."

"I've told you enough Matt. The rest will come as it comes. I thank you for always being there for me, but some things need to remain private for now."

Matt stood. "I respect that Emilio. I'm happy for you. After you have things sorted, perhaps you could help me sort my life."

"Not to be an ignorant arse Matt, but maybe you should give up what you had and look around for something new. Kim may not have been your life witch after all."

Looking quite despondent, Matt shrugged. "The way she has been acting makes me think you might be right, but we'll see. We are taking a bit of time away from each other. After that, who knows."

"Okay cousin." Emilio replied. "I'm hoping for the best. It's past 9:00 pm so I'll be getting back to the hotel. I'll see you and Gas in the morning. Good luck to us tomorrow."

Matt smiled at his cousin. "We don't need luck. We are the beasts. See you in the morning. If you want to talk, remember I'm only one floor down. Goodnight Emilio."

/*/

Wallace had spent most of the day tying up loose ends, but at 1:00 pm he had been called to the HOMI's office to hear about his future. It had been decided that Wallace would step into Minister Lozier's shoes. The meeting was to confirm details. The meeting ended well for Wallace. He had been promoted to Minister of Acquisitions starting immediately. As soon as he got back to his desk, Wallace had sent his mentor an Owl describing his good fortune and thanking him for his support. It was the least he could do.

Shortly after receiving his good news, Wallace received a visit from James Wooley. "I've heard the news Wallace. I've come to offer my congratulations. It seems that former Minister Lozier leaves no stone unturned when it comes to his Assistants. For that, I will be forever grateful. I know quite a bit about your new position. If you ever need assistance, please feel free to call on me. Train your Junior up well. You never know when the next position will come about. Congratulations again. If Emilio is in the building tomorrow, please ask him to see me before he leaves. Have a good afternoon."

"Good afternoon to you too Minister. Thank you for your support. I don't expect Emilio tomorrow, but I will forward your message when he does come through."

James waved as he left the office. To him, Emilio Lozier was a prince whom he respected above all others. He would definitely take the prince up on his offer to visit London. The hard part was that Emilio was in London. James would never speak it out loud, but to him, The Ministry at Milan wasn't nearly as appealing now that Emilio was leaving.

/*/

That evening, Matt looked over a few folders, but his mind wasn't on business. His mind was on what his cousin had managed. If what Emilio had shared was true, and he didn't doubt that it was, he and Hermione were finally getting their chance, while his life was falling apart. For a few seconds, Matt thought he should try to find Kim. A few seconds later, he knew that wasn't what he wanted to do. He wanted a peaceful, loving home life, but wouldn't have that with Kim. Emilio was right. He should give up and move on.

After a few more drinks, Matt slowly headed to bed. He was one of the all powerful beasts, but tonight, tonight he felt like Matt Lozio of Rte 515, East Flanders, Belgium.

/**/

Wednesday was going to be a leisurely day for Hermione. She had decided the most she and Scorp would do was mess about in the back gardens. Hermione wouldn't admit it to anyone, but she was feeing restless. Emilio's kisses had brought certain feelings back to life. Feelings she had pushed away after Draco died. But now, now they were back. The truth be told, she wanted sex, or at least, she wanted more kisses. Hermione didn't think of herself as overly sexual, but for the last six years she hadn't gone a day without at least one orgasm. Celibacy hadn't been hard when she was on her own. However, she had pledged herself to Emilio and every one of her sexual nerves wanted to be…..

"Mum. Mum. Come look. I've seen a big worm. A very big worm. Come see."

With a sigh, Hermione left the chair to see what Scorp was on about. It was true. Scorp had discovered one of the biggest caterpillars she'd ever seen. Scorp reached out to pick it up, but Hermione grabbed his hand.

"No love. You mustn't. It might sting you." As the words left her mouth, Hermione went spare. Where the overly large caterpillar sat munching on a leaf, she saw a dick. A dick connected to the body of Emilio Lozier. Hermione spent several seconds in her reverie until Scorp called out to her.

"Mum. Mum."

Shaking herself back into reality, Hermione walked over to where Scorp was standing. "What now love? Has your caterpillar …..?"

Looking more closely, Hermione realized why Scorp had called out. The caterpillar that had been happily munching on a leaf had begun to spin itself into a cocoon.

"Come away love. You must leave it to itself."

"Why mum? What is it doing?"

"The caterpillar is at a delicate point. It is moving on to the next phase of its life. Let's go inside for a bit. Maybe you can spend a few minutes with Louis. I'm sure he will be glad for a bit of company. After that, you may show me how far you've come with your numbers."

"Okay mum, I'll visit with Elder Malfoy, but I hope you've made an appointment with Uncle Matt and Meelio, because I want to visit them."

Hermione felt a blush rising from her neck. A caterpillar had made her think about Emilio's dick. She didn't want to think about dick and Scorp in the same sentence. She cleared her throat before replying to her son. "Uncle Matt and Emilio are working very hard. They don't have time for appointments."

Scorp thought about it for a second before responding in a soft voice. "Meelio always has time for me."

Hermione felt shamed over her small lie. Scorp was right. Emilio always had time for him. The day which had started out as a leisurely day, was turning into anything but.

Around 3:00 pm, Harry stopped in to tell Hermione he had stopped by the previous evening and tried to call her that morning as well.

"Hello love. I've taken a short break, so I decided to get the lowdown. The floo was locked yesterday, and your wards wouldn't recognize me. I was thinking you were done with me. Anyway, how are you and Scorp getting on?"

"Hello Harry. Thank you for checking on us. Scorp and I are doing fine. We had a lovely morning in Diagon Alley. Let me get Scorp so he can say hello."

"That would be great," said Harry, as he surreptitiously glanced around. He'd known Hermione for a long time. Something was off with his sister. For as much as he glanced around, Harry couldn't find anything out of order. Then Scorp was bounding across the room.

"Hi Uncle Harry." Scorp cried out climbing up to sit beside Harry. "Auntie Hannah came to visit and she was laughing so big."

As far as he knew, Hannah had been dead tired and was on her way to bed when he left. She obviously hadn't been that tired as she had turned up a Hermione's. "What was so important my overly tired, extremely exhausted wife had to make a visit to Malfoy Estate when she should have been in bed?"

Hermione was at a loss for words, so she improvised. "Like you, Hannah was checking on Scorp and I. It seems that my family and friends are worried for my sanity. They think I'll take Scorp and jump in front of the Knight Bus or something. We're fine Harry. Really."

"You aren't that fine." Harry answered with a smile. "You've obviously forgotten your manners. Can a brother at least get a cup of tea?"

"Obviously I have. Tea coming right up Mr. Auror/brother. Have you seen the articles on MCC? Fantastic write ups. Draco would have loved them."

"How could I not have seen them? Matt, Gas and Emilio are on the cover of every decent magazine and newspaper. I have to admit. They are a handsome bunch. The witches will be having a field day chasing after Lozier."

"Really? Do you think he stands out from the rest?"

Harry watched as Hermione's body seemed to tense up. "He is the only unmarried one in the photos. Rich, dark, handsome and unmarried. Lozier is definitely who the witches will be lusting after."

Harry's words aggravated Hermione, even though everything he said was true, She snapped at him. "Emilio Lozier has never been a womanizer. Why would he start now? Don't you think it's time you put some of that hate away Harry? At least until he starts shagging witches right, left and center."

"Wow! Sensitive much? I don't hate Lozier. I didn't know a few off the cuff remarks about Lozier would upset you. It's really not my business. I was just making an observation. Lozier is grown. It'll be up to him whom he lets into his life."

Hermione felt foolish. She had snapped at Harry over nothing. Using her indoor voice and a softer tone, Hermione spoke as she laid her head on Harry's shoulder. "I have something to tell you, which I haven't told anyone else. Not even Carmela or Hannah."

Harry's breath caught in his throat as he waited.

"Emilio and I have talked, and decided that at some point we will try again. I'm happy Harry. Try to be happy for me and Scorp."

Harry sat there thinking, even a blind wizard could have seen this coming. Lozier just didn't let up. "I imagine Lozier has been pressuring you. He was ready to have you two days after Draco died. There are loads of wizards who would like to take Draco's place. Why him?"

Hermione sat up removing her head from Harry's shoulder. "I should be angry, but I'm not. How mad am I to think you would be happy for me? How stupid am I to think you would allow me to make my own decisions? Did I ever comment when you were treating Hannah like shite running back to Ginny then separating, then getting back together then separating again? I only wanted for you what you wanted. It was up to you to make a choice. I had hopes you would do the same for me. I now know I was wrong. You still feel as though you know my life better than I do. Well, you don't. Here's something I'd never thought I'd say. If you don't agree with what I'm doing with my life, get the fuck out of it. I've been standing on my own two feet since I was eleven. I've gotten good at it. I'd ask you to keep this to yourself, but I know better. I imagine Harry the Great can't wait to say I told you so to a number of people. You may go now Harry, and you don't have to worry about coming back. Scorp and I will be fine. Goodbye."

There were so many things Harry could have said, but he said nothing. Instead, he left the house as asked.

"What was I thinking?" An emotional Hermione asked herself. "I've shared personal information with the one person who thinks Emilio is a piece of shite. I guess I hoped Harry would come down on my side." Tears began to form in the corners of Hermione's eyes. She had just lost a brother.

Scorp came from the television room at a run. " ." He said, patting her on both cheeks. "Uncle Harry made you cry. Stop crying mum." Scorp ordered, now crying himself.

Hermione smiled at her son, wiping his tears away. "Uncle Harry did make me sad, but it's okay. Sometimes brothers and sisters have disagreements. Everything will be fine."

Laying his head on Hermione's chest, Scorp shared his feelings. "We can tell Auntie Hannah. She'll make Uncle Harry be good. Right mum?"

"It's not that important love. Don't worry yourself."

"Scorp's not worried mum. We have people who still love us. We should make an pointment to see Uncle Matt and Meelio. We don't need Uncle Harry."

Hermione was truly embarrassed she had dragged Scorp into her mess, and had to set her son straight. "Stop worrying about mum. I upset Uncle Harry, but everything will be fine. I promise. Now you may call Dusty or Crissy to take you to potty then come back down to watch me prepare dinner."

"Yay, dinner. Scorp is hungry. Dusty, come help Scorp with potty." Turning back to his mum, Scorp told her he wasn't mad to Uncle Harry. Everything was going to be alright.

Once alone, Hermione admitted that this time, everything might not be alright.

She was wiping away the next set of tears when her mobile rang.

Emilio was chuffed. Their presentations had been a resounding hit. Heads, Managers, Franchisees on down had given the visions and strategies of MCC several standing ovations, and left the meeting feeling secure in their futures with MCC. He, Matt, Gas and the third levels had also met privately with several of the most powerful groups to accept their congratulations privately. It was late, but it had been a fulfilling day.

Between the public meeting and the private meetings, Emilio had stepped away supposedly to use the men's. However, his sole purpose was to check in with Hermione.

Her mobile was on the fifth ring when Hermione picked up.

Hello Emilio.

Hermione didn't sound right which made Emilio nervous.

Is everything alright? You sound stuffed up.

I'm fine. How is your day going?

My day is going well, but I'm worried about yours. Are you and Scorp alright?

Honestly Emilo. We are fine, but I've done a stupid thing.

Emilio couldn't imagine Hermione doing a stupid thing, but was prepared to listen.

I'm sorry.

He only had a few minutes. This was not what he wanted to hear. Every last nerve in his body was on standing on edge.

I have to get back, but you've unnerved me. If you don't mind, I'll ring you back after the last of our meetings are over. In the meantime, please calm down. We'll discuss whatever this is later. I'll try not to make it too late, but I will call.

Emilio had a quick pee, washed his hands before hurrying to the smaller conference room. The meeting hadn't started. In fact, Matt was still in the hallway chatting with several Heads from a few of their mid-tier companies. Emilio greeted his fellows as he took a seat.

While everyone talked among themselves, Emilio worried over what was going on with Hermione. She sounded as though she had been crying. On top of that, she was sorry. About what? All he could think was she had changed her mind. They weren't going to be together and she was apologizing. No. Unacceptable. They had discussed it and come to an agreement. He wouldn't accept anything less. Emilio was out of time to think about anything other than business. Matt had entered the room and closed the door behind him.

It was time to start closing out the day.
