A new beginning:
Kenji woke up to see he was more bandaged up than before with an I.V. in his wrist. He sat up slowly as he looked around the white room to see Mei reading and signing documents, while Akari and Nanashi slept on chairs near the window.
"Looks like we won sort of" he said in a raspy voice
Mei looked up at him with a surprised face, then she got a neutral look.
"How are you feeling?" she asked
"Like I got a building dropped on me" he said as he looked outside at the afternoon sun
She sighed looking at him sitting her documents for reintegration of the hidden Mist down.
"You know…you scared us all big time. And that other shinobi, who showed up along with Tarble, were severely beaten as well."
"Yea, we got our asses handed to us. We're just lucky he didn't wanna fight on Yagura's side" he said in a soft yet serious tone
"Do you think you could've beaten him if you were at full power?" she asked
Kenji shrugged
"I…don't know. He…he handled 3 of us in an instance. All I know, is that I need to train as soon as I get out of here" Kenji said in frustration
Mei sighed as she pulled up her chair close to him, putting her hand over his.
"Hey, I like that you want to get back in the field, but you need to relax and worry about finishing this mission and recovering. Plus…we have a wedding to plan as well. And you remember, you lost our little reprieve on having children"
Kenji's face began to blush as he looked into her green eyes while she rubbed her thumb across his bandaged hands.

"Don't worry..we'll be training together. And you'll have other opponents who can help you in different areas as well. But for now, relax" She said
Kenji nodded and laid back as she held his hand looking at him bandaged. She had half a mind to climb in bed with him again but they had guests.
"Did they tell you who we fought?"
"Yes, he claimed to be the brother of the Tsuchikage. That is alarming seeing as he defeated 3 and a half squads while shrugging off the damage you all gave him" she said gaining a serious glint in her visible eye
"Yea, we were doing good when Trunks showed up. Then that guy came and turned everything around for the enemies. They…got away with Yagura and-"
"Kenji…how long do you think you've been sleeping?" she asked cutting him off
"I…dont know…how long?" he asked in a weary tone

"You've been out for 5 days. Your cousin left yesterday"
Kenji nodded as he sighed in annoyance
"He also said to keep watch over you because you tend to get into trouble a lot" she said
"He's right…" he said absently
'Even with the Hiraishin I'm not as strong as I thought. Being fast and hitting people hard isn't all I'm good at. I could've sealed off his chakra network or put a ki draining seal on him. Dammit, I got caught up in the battle…What if that was Naruto they took? Would I have managed to figure something out? Dammit Kenji, use your head!' he thought as he looked down with his hair covering his eyes.

"Yes, and it seems that we may be able to gain more allies in our scheme" Raditz said
"And how might we do that?" he asked not looking away from the stars
"Pain has found out about Zetsu's treachery. Also it seems there is a link to where The Dark Empire lies."
"How should we approach this?"
"We'll speak with him when we finish extracting the 3 tails." Raditz said
"Alright. So when does that happen?" he asked
"When they return from that accursed portal to the Dark Dimension" Raditz said balling up his fists
"And what will we do with the tailed beasts that we capture after killing Madara and Zetsu?"
"Hell if I know, free the bastards and leave the elemental nations to their own devices" he replied uncaringly
"Humph, we should probably return them to their villages to keep the balance of power in the elemental nations" Mukai offered
"Yea, a power vacuum could start the next world war, and I have a feeling that it could cause a disaster if it's not taken care of properly. Anyways, I'll be scouting out more ways to get to the tailed beasts to keep up my cover. That son of a bitch Giblet has been Madara and Zetsu's watchdog. We'll need to deal with him eventually" he said as he turned away.
"Right, I'll be ready when it's time" Mukai nodded

Tarble sat in a training field with Kenji looking across from him. They were both breathing heavily, covered in bruises and cuts. They had both snuck out of the Hidden Whirlpool hospital to train. They had mostly recovered but they were being held for observation and a wellness check. Kenji was restless in his hospital bed and Tarble was tired of wellness checks. His nephew Trunks had just left and they shook hands after a while. He told him that their family resided in the hidden Leaf and he should come visit sometime. Tarble was reluctant because he and Vegeta had never really gotten along, and he wouldn't be well received. But, he said he would to visit his niece and nephew.
"Hey, we should probably make our way back, shouldn't we" Tarble said
"Yea…probably. Plus Mei and my team might have my head if I'm caught outside of the hospital" Kenji said
"Don't remind me, Haku tends to be a mother hen. It's like having an annoying little sister" Tarble said
"Well, at least we got some good sparring in again. I felt like I was falling behind honestly" the blonde replied
"Tell me about it. I wanted to test out this boost in power I got from Raditz. Honestly I want to fight him again at his full power to prove I can beat him" he said
Kenji thought back to the battle in the stoney and destroyed battlefield.

The wind blew past them on the tiled ground of the training field as they contemplated the battle's circumstances. They knew one of them could've died in battle instantly if he was serious. Soon they heard a set of footsteps walking into the field. They whirled around quickly to see Asuma with a broken right arm firing up a cigarette. They sighed in relief as they finished clashing across the training ground.
"What's up with you two? Wait lemme guess, unauthorized training haha?" He joked
Kenji looked at his hands
"I think, I've become too reliant on the Hiraishin"
This got both of their attention as they looked at him in understanding. He was known as the 2nd coming of the yellow flash, but this made his fighting style well known and those who were strong enough could counter it
"What about that time space barrier you made with the Hiraishin kunais? You used that in the last battle didn't you?" Asuma asked
"Yea but I didn't have the time nor did I think to use it. Besides I have a feeling that doing that would've made him use more of his power to defeat us" Kenji replied
"Well you didn't use it. So we won't know until you actually do it. Besides, I think expanding your skill set is a good idea anyways. Don't be a one trick pony. Keep the enemy guessing and have options to switch your style up" Tarble said
Kenji looked at his hands and his eyes widened
"I can specialize in a certain element! I could master my fire and wind natures, along with some sealing and genjutsu tactics."
"You're right. I had to master ki to a certain degree because of that myself. Maybe I can pick one of my natures to master as well and combine it with my ki to create a new style. But first, I'm gonna let my arm heal first" Asuma said
Kenji nodded in agreement as he looked up at the sun.
"We also need to ask Son Wukong for some senzu beans so it doesn't take forever to heal." Kenji said, flexing his hand and laying back on the tiled ground.
"You got that right. I'm waiting on my trench knives to get repaired. I'd like to practice my taijutsu with them right now. I'm thinking of developing some better long ranged attacks as well" Asuma said
"Perhaps I can help you with that once you're healed up completely." Tarble said
"Thanks, I really want to get some progress there specifically. I think these battles recently have shown me that I've gotten soft"
"Better to learn now than later" Tarble said
"Speaking of later, we'll be coming back with the Hokage to setup or reaffirm and alliance between our villages" Kenji said
"Yea, that's right we do need to settle things with the Hokage, Mizukage and the Uzukage. Looks like things are gonna be getting dicy. I wonder what the other nations are gonna think" Asuma said
"I wonder why Kenji and Tarble aren't back in the hospital" Akari said in a sickly sweet tone
"Oh yes. Especially when Kenji had a concussion." Mei said in agreement
"And I wonder why Asuma is smoking?" Kurenai said
They looked over to see Akari, Kurenai and Mei looking at them with openly sweet smiles and a lot of killing intent.

"Really? Vegeta never struck me as that. He's the head of the police force in our village. He's been working with the police for the past 5 to 6 years." She said with a thoughtful look on her face.
"Hah, I'll believe it when I see it." he said with a plastered smile on his face
Hana sighed as she heard one of the Haimaru brothers snoring on her leg.
"I think you should give it a chance. Maybe come back with us to the Hidden Leaf when we go on to get lord Hokage" she said with a tone of optimism and an honest smile
Tarble looked up at the sun scratching his head
"That might be the way to go. Besides, you have to visit the Hidden Leaf and the Land of Fire. Give yourself some time off" she said with a smile
Tarble smirked and he hid his blush looking the other way so Hana wouldn't see.

After everyone was healed up, they were on the way back to the village. While walking Asuma and Choji noticed how Ino had been very silent and calm. He himself had lived through part of the 3rd shinobi world war. He had seen his fair share of death and dealt with it too.

When they got back to the leaf village, they checked in at the gate and began to make their way to the Hokage's office. They were looked at by some of the villagers while others ignored them.
"Feels good to be home" Shisui said
"Boy I'll say. But I hope we get to go back to the Whirlpools" Hana said while she was looking around at the buildings and the people. Being back home felt a bit good but she missed the architecture of the land of Uzu.
"I'm actually beat…haha, I think I'll take it easy for a few days" Asuma said

"So the mission was successful and the Uzukage wants to have a meeting with me in a week?"
"Yes, also the other situation attached will be happening once we arrive there shortly after" Shisui said
The Hokage nodded
"We have also invited the Namikaze and Senju clans as well." Mei said
"Alright that's fine. I'll have some anbu guard the compound" he said
"The Mist would also like to form an alliance with us due to their alliance with the land of Whirlpools" Shisui said
"Of course. We might be able to set up some form of alliance with them. We'll need it for what's to come" he said causing several people not aware of Frieza to wonder what he's talking about
After the mission debriefing Kenji, Akari, Nanashi and Mei came to the compound. Tsunade and Shizune were working at the hospital and would be home later. Mei had been introduced to Kumiko and Fune. She wears a white open leg cape that is jagged at the bottom, and red and black high heels.
She sat on a throne with a man standing next to her on guard. He is a pale man with blue skin and white hair, having a line on both cheeks that goes from the eyes until his jaw. He wore all red clothes covering his body. There was also a small wrinkled yellow alien in orange and black robes.
"Lady Mira, it's been a long time" Zetsu said
"Zetsu, the plan you and Madara devised is going perfectly. My son and Majin Buu are gaining the energy psyphined from the world of the living through the rings of you akatsuki members along with the negative energy machine we have devised to connect with your chakra." she said
"I take it that you are pleased?" Zetsu asked
"But of course, now what have you come here for?" She asked
"We require assistance due to the Saiyan problem. Thanks to them the beings of our world have gained access to Ki and they are a problem for some of our members" Zetsu said
Mira scoffed
"Is that all? Worried your plan to revive Madara won't go as planned? Rejoice for I have a way of helping your cause. Bring them in!" She yelled, causing a set of thick stone royal embroidered doors to open.
Soon, a being with a jelly beaned head and a white upper body with black spandex pants walked in with a capital M on his head. Another being with pure purple skin, black pants, golden shoes and the belt to his pants had an infinity symbol. Another all green skinned being resembling a crab-like demon with another M on his head walked out.
"Pui Pui, Yakon, Finn. You are to help our earth dwelling friends and put their enemies in the dirt. This will generate energy for my son and Majin Buu. You will do what Zetsu and his accomplice ask you to do! Got it?" she said
"Yesss my lady!" they all said as they went to stand with the two earth realm world walkers
"Thank you Lady Towa. We shall not fail you" Zetsu said
"Good, you require anything else? Or must you waste my time with your words?"
"No ma'am, we shall move on and give you more consistent updates of what's going on with the invasion" he said
They began to walk towards the exit of the tower and back to the demonic wasteland that led to the portal to earth.

The next day:
Itachi sat meditating in front of the river near the Naka shrine. He had been reading the tombstone over and over again. His father passed away and he activated the Mangekyo Sharingan. He didn't have to kill his best friend and he had now read about the story of the sage of 6 paths. But due to the loss of half the clan including his father and his friend whom he had somewhat of affections for Izumi Uchiha passed causing his mangekyo Sharingan to awaken. Though he only used it in training and rarely due to the pain in his eyes from using it. He had also read about the ritual for the eternal mangekyo and his mother had kept his eyes to trade with his fathers when he began to go blind.
'Something about this tablet is wrong, as if it's been altered. Perhaps that is why father attempted to work things about with the village instead of planning his rebellion. This God tree shall be the savior of the Uchiha. Preposterous, the village we have created is our salvation. Regardless of what the tablet says' he thought
He decided he would sit on his thoughts and meditate on what he read. He would also break tradition and ask his brother to read it as he possessed the rinnegan. Soon, he was disturbed as he heard footsteps in a familiar rhythm
"Shisui, how was your mission?" He asked
"Well, I fought a perfect jinchuriki and helped liberate an entire village. Along with that I got a present from Uzu'' he said
Itachi stood, turning around to see Shisui holding up a set of unique daggers.
"What do they do?"
"They absorb and release chakra. You can absorb chakra with them and either use the chakra inside to channel into the blades, absorb the chakra or send the attack back towards the enemy through the blades" He said putting the sheathed blades away.
"Also, I put my Mangekyo to the ultimate test and, I believe I should learn to fight with and without it or I'll go blind"
Itachi sighed in resignation
"I decided that when we unlocked it. I'd say a little bit after Sasuke and his fellow chunin return, that would be the best time to do it. I saved his eyes for Sasuke and we can exchange ours then"
Shisui agreed
"So you fought a fully controlled Jinchuriki? What happened?"
"Kenji defeated the 3 tails by going all out at the start. I was keeping it at bay but he just teleported over haha. We were out of options against the tail beasts full power."
"You mean from a tailed beast ball?"
"Yeah, he teleported us away and then he defeated him. Not quite the ending I wanted…but we all survived. But…"
"You think you could've ended it sooner if you used your full power from the beginning" Itachi elaborated
"Yea. As of now it would be better to use the Mangekyo as a surprise attack or as a last resort"
"Yes, I've been practicing using it in my recent training. I've started to create a few tricks with the amaterasu. Perhaps once you've settled in we should have a go around" he said
"Heh, we're gonna need an entire battlefield! So be ready!" he said with with a small smirk
"Not today you won't!" another voice said
Akari was standing behind them with a vein tick in her forehead. Shisui felt a bit jittered as a bead of sweat dripped down his cheek.
"Um, Itachi…perhaps we should put a raincheck on that fight till tomorrow or towards Wednesday." he said
Akari smiled
"Oh hello Itachi, I'll be borrowing him for a while. You can have him back in a day or two"
Shisui tried to grab onto Itachi but he smirked and dodged the grab for help.
"Itachi! Help! Please!"
"But why would I interfere with quality? Go on cousin" he said laughing at him
He laughed watching them walk away. He stepped outside and he looked around to see the cat Anbu land near him on the deck.
"Itachi Uchiha, you will be a part of the envoy to the Hidden Whirlpool along with the Hokage. Also, Shisui and your mother are invited to attend as well"
"Thank you. I will let them know" he said nodding towards the Anbu member
3 days later at the Namikaze Residence:
Tsunade, Kumiko and Shizune sat with Mei and Kenji.
"So, how have you enjoyed your stay with us? Is Kenji a good host?" Tsunade asked looking a her adoptive son with a sickly sweet smile
'Haah, I've been doing my best. And she raised me… How is it she doesn't trust me to be a good host' he thought
"Oh, he's been wonderful. He's such a gentleman and a caring man" Mei said with her legs crossed and her hands folded across her knees
"That's good. We've taught him well. He's always been a smart child, but he had a problem picking up his books and scrolls and not book marking the pages" Kumiko continued
"Hah, it had gotten so bad that Naruto started doing it when he studied" Tsunade continued
"Really?"
Tsunade pulled out her favorite photo of him reading 'Tales of the Gutsy shinobi sleeping with a baby Naruto in his lap.' There were a lot of books around the two as they were asleep.
"They used to have books surrounding them like a fort sometimes thanks to Naruto" Tsunade said giggling as she gave it Mei
"Aw, you're sooo cute" she said with a sweet smile
"There's another one of them like that. We absolutely have to go through them" Kumiko said as she got up and started looking for the photo album
Kenji ran his hand through his hair as he tried not to blush
'Oh, boy… This is kinda too mushy for me' he said as he kept his composure and tried not to sigh
He looked at a group family picture of Naruto's graduation and thought
'I guess we're gonna make the family bigger.' then he looked up at a picture of his parents
"I see you all are embarrassing the boy"
Kenji turned around to see Noridasu in his usual clan attire of a white haori, blue shiyakusho and white samurai sox.
"Gramps, how've you been?" he stood up and gave a short bow of respect
"I've been well, I see you've come back to us in one piece. I had heard you did well." he replied
Kenji had a small genuine grin on his face.
"Yes, I…or we… liberated the Hidden Mist. I have someone I'd like you to meet. I know you met her briefly before but this is my fiance Mei Terumi of Whirlpool"
She stood and gave a short bow as well
"Oi,oi, no bowing please, we don't believe in such formalities. Respect and kindness is more than enough" Kumiko said in good nature
"Nice to meet you Mei, please keep an eye on our boy. He tends to think he can do everything on his own sometimes." Noridasu said
"Ah, Gramps, what do you mean? I don't-"
"C'mon my boy, I'm sure she knows what type of man you are. But you're a good man, so she won't hold it against you hahahaha" he said in good nature
He looked at Mei as she had a warm smile on her face with a blush looking at a picture with Tsunade. He ran his hand through his hair and sighed as he accepted his family embarrassing him to his fiance.
Noridasu pulled him to the side and they went to another room. He gestured for him to come outside to the back porch. Noridasu pulled out a box and opened it to show two golden rings with azure diamond crystals.
"These are wedding rings I had made after the ones that your grandmother and I made" he said
Kenji looked at the rings with wide eyes, then at him.
"H-how long have you had these?"
"I had them made a few years ago. Wasn't gonna give'em to ya until I thought you found the one, but…it seems like you've been delivered the one so to speak. Speaking of which, are you sure about her?"
"Yea. She wants a family, just like me. I…I am watching myself around her…and I'm watching her. But, for the most part, her words have matched her actions"
Noridasu nodded as he handed the box of rings to his grandson and they shook hands and hugged.

Shikaku asked Hiruzen to fill in for him as Hokage while he went to conduct negotiations with the Land of Whirlpools and attend the wedding between the Namikaze and the Uzumaki
Soon they were back in the Hidden Whirlpool village with the Namikaze family, the Konoha 12 who weren't off training and 3 of the Uchiha clansmen. They were getting settled in as Arashi came to speak with Shikaku Nara. Zabuza was also there as the Mizukage with Ao, Haku and Suigetsu as he bodyguards.
"Lord Hokage, Lord Mizukage, I invite you to come speak with me in my council chambers when you are finished getting settled in"
"Lead the way" Shikaku said
"Yes Lord Uzukage, Lord Hokage, let us speak" Zabuza said
Soon they made it to the council chambers where Genryusai and several other clansmen sat waiting. They began to speak on a multitude of topics from business to foreign affairs which took a positive turn
"We of the Whirlpool would like to renew our treaty with the Hidden Leaf, with some additions" Arashi said
"I've already made an agreement with the Hidden Mist on this idea, we would like to build a seal that teleports between our villages."
Shikaku narrowed his eyes
"And how would this work?"
"There will be a sealing matrix that channels chakra and shows the chakra signature of each individual who's chakra is linked to each land. This would strictly be for military and diplomatic purposes only. So the eradication of a single village and or clan doesn't happen again." Arashi continued
Shikaku nodded
"That would have to be something I talk about with the council, for village security"
"I understand" Arashi said nodding to him
"I would also like to broker a treaty between our villages" Zabuza said to Shikaku
"And what did you have in mind?"
"We in the Mist have ships on the market that can go back and forth all over the land of water. Some don't even get used, we also have a parts manufacturer. I'm willing to trade with you via the shipping and fishing industry for steel from the land of fire, and give you a 20 percent discount on any ships or parts you need or want to purchase. As for the fishing industry we live near water, and we make sure the environment is taken care of. I'm willing to take away 10% on any imports of parts and fish you buy from us in exchange for the steel you all produce, as well as medical ninjutsu techniques."
Shikaku thought about it and decided to agree
"That'll be something I talk about with the council, but I'm willing to trade with you. In the event that they say no, I'll push through for it anyway" he said
"I've heard that Tarble went to visit the Hidden Leaf due to his family residing there"
Shikaku nodded in agreement
"I'm willing to let him stay there and be the linking ambassador for the Hidden Mist as well as work under the Hidden Leaf. So, should we go to war, unless it's with someone we are in treaty with he will come fight with us" Zabuza said
"That's fine by me" Shikaku said as they both shook hands
"Speaking of war-" Genryusai said causing everyone to look at him as he was quiet for majority of the meeting with several others
"We have made preparations should the Hidden Cloud or the Land of Earth get any ideas to attack us after they find out of our resurgence. We were thinking of contacting each of the Kage from the two lands before anything else. We know that the HIdden Leaf now has a more friendly relationship with them after the battle against the land of Sound and the Sand. Can the 4th Tsuchikage be trusted and is he a man of honor?" Genryusai asked
"Yes, I encourage you both to reach out to him. He seeks peace but is not afraid to go to war to protect what is sacred to him. He is a true man of honor" Shikaku said with no hesitation
Zabuza Arashi and Genryusai nodded hearing what he had to say
"Moving on, there is some planet threatening events that I want to share with you all"
Shikaku told them of the threat of a galactic empire attacking the planet. He also showed them the heads of the dead aliens and the advanced technology that they use.
"This will require a United front. I would suggest a 5 Kage summit" Arashi said folding his arms
"We sent out messages to wach village a month ago but we had a war with the Sound and Sand afterwards. We have sent out the messages again and now, we're waiting for word back from the other villages and the Land of Iron." Shikaku said
"Galactic empire huh? Sounds like a good fight. As Mizukage I accept the invite to the summit, just let me know when it's happening" Zabuza said
"We of the Whirlpool would like to send the shinobi of our 4 great houses as well to represent our support of the Leaf and the Mist. Does anyone of the clan heads of Whirlpool disagree" Arashi said
There were no disagreements and they continued their meeting

Later that night with Itachi:
He sat in his Anbu gear with no mask. It was a very different feeling to him and he enjoyed it. Perhaps he would take a genin team. He wondered how his younger brother was doing. Sasuke was his most consistent sparring partner and he was easily going to be stronger than him. The Rinnegan was a mysterious dojutsu that most people knew nothing about. Perhaps he would need to get his mangekyo beforehand to make a decent training partner.
He soon ducked under a kick, rolling down a Meiji era styled building, causing he to roll down a triangular styled building jumping off to land on a shorter building
"That was close" he said quietly, activating his Sharingan
He looked around to see the sun setting while looking over the Mist covering the Village and down to the world. Funny thing is the village was cloat in something like a plexiglass mist. You couldn't see the village outside but you could see outside from inside. There was a way around the island through a check-in station that allowed you to teleport into the village if you came through the gate "officially".
He soon had to dodge another wisp of air. He looked to see it was an outstretched feminine leg. It was attached to a purple and orange blur. He channeled chakra to his ears, closing his eyes and channeling his ki senses into the air around him. He caught a fist turning around behind and soon he had to catch a side knee strike. Opening his eyes he saw she wore a black sleeveless and backless kimono and shinobi pants, black shinobi sandals, with long black wrist guards which, but had a black ribbon tied around her neck.
"You're pretty good" she said looking at him with a teasing grin as he opened his Sharingan eyes
"I take it, this is your unique style of greeting?" He said with a stoic look on his face
"No, you just looked strong. I wanted to see if you were all look and no show"
"You could've requested a spar." He said
"But where's the fun in that? We're having fun aren't we?" She said
She blinked and he was gone. Before she could look around she felt a kunai under her neck.
"I suppose it was. Now do you yield?" He asked from behind her
Her smirk deepened, and her body got hot from his voice being so close to him.
"Mmm, you're really good. Let's go again" She complemented
"I'm not so sure I'd like that" he said withdrawing his kunai
He began to walk away but he soon had to turn around and block a heavy roundhouse kick. His Sharingan was on her immediately as he slid across the roof on his feet. He threw his kunai at her but she caught it and moved in to slash at him. Itachi drew another kunai blocking a downward vertical slash. She leaned back but Itachi didn't fall for it. He just kicked her back and then she threw the kunai at him. He blocked the kunai with his own catching it and standing with his knives in a reverse grip.
"Heh, show me more Itachi Uchiha of the Leaf!" She said, catching him off guard with an even faster speed.
He dodged a straight kick but he tried to slash at her ankle. She moved her leg up and smashed it down on his shoulder hard, causing him to grunt in annoyance. Luckily his shoulder pads were protecting him, but they did crack. Itachi drew a handful of shuriken and threw them at her. She jumped over the throwing stars while lunging forward performing a windmill kick. Then she turned into a leg sweep, causing him to jump over her leg and go for a horizontal slash. She leaned back, tucking her legs in with her arms rolling away to a crouching battle stance. Itachi threw his kunai at her but she grabbed it again, throwing it right back at him. He caught it and slashed at her, but she caught his wrist. Soon after she threw a left jab that he caught. Next she kicked him in his stomach, sending him reeling from the amount of power she put into it
"Tsk!"
He said moving in to block several elbow strikes, punches and kicks. Soon he gripped her shoulder, leaping over and throwing her away from him to the other side of the roof. She rolled to a sitting position and caught his arm as he tried to slash at her.
She made a mistake looking into his eyes and smirked as she looked at his nose and mouth instead. He leaned back as she tried to knee him in the face and he jumped back, yanking his arm free. He pulled a throwing star out and threw a shuriken and put his hands in the cross seal.
"Shadow Shuriken jutsu!"
1 shuriken became 20 and flew towards her fast. She jumped to the side at a speed that alarmed him as she leapt towards him ready to throw a double-fisted attack. Itachi received two fists into his chest and stomach causing him to spit up blood, sending him flying, tumbling to the side.
She walked forward to see that it was a log instead of him. She heard two blades clash and she leaned her head to the right dodging a shuriken. She whirled around to dodge an incoming kunai stab as she palm struck Itachi in the chin. Soon, he puffed into a cloud of smoke. She tried to turn around but she felt the kunai at her back and she froze
"Shadow Clone eh? Not bad Itachi Uchiha"
"Are we done here?" Itachi asked
"Humph, fine you won this one. Oh and my name is Yoruichi Shihoin. Let's play again sometime" she said as she body flickered out of the way
Itachi sighed as he deactivated his Sharingan and his shoulders sagged.
"Looks like I've got my work cut out for me" he thought
The Next day:
There were Uzumaki, Terumi and Namikaze clansmen buzzing about the clan compound. The wedding was in a few days as Kenji and Mei were getting fitted for the wedding dress and tuxedo. Itachi stood with Mikoto and Shisui.
"He asked you to be the best man? That's wonderful!" Mikoto said to Shisui
"Yes, being his jonin sensei and now best man is quite impressive" Itachi said
"Thanks. I really don't know what to say honestly" he replied running his hand through his hair
They soon began to prepare to rehearse the service all day. The seating was adjusted throughout the days and the service was stopped a few times to accommodate the ever growing attendees. Finally after days of preparations, the wedding was held outside of the back of the Uzukage tower.
Kenji felt a bit awkward in his red and white Kimono with the whirlpool swirl on the back. Mei walked out with a white and blue dress with a whirlpool sign on her back, and high heels, with very little make-up, blue lipstick, and blue nail and toe polish to match. Genryusai walked her down the aisle and Kenji felt a pang in her heart as he looked at her with a feeling he never felt.
'Am I ready for this?' He thought
Shisui tapped him on the shoulder and nodded. It was as if he sensed his friend's uncertainty and he grinned in a Naruto-esk fox-like manner rubbing the back of his head.
'Guess you'll be an Uncle when you comes back Naruto' he thought as he took a glance at the Uzumaki clan insignia on the Uzukage building
