Majikoi – Love Me Seriously - Kazuko Route
Daughter of Kawakami – Part 13
A Young Warrior – Part 2
August 31st, 2009, Monday
Just as before, I know they'll face of in the third round, at the top eight…
But the tournament continued unabated, "Now, here comes Miss Chivalry!"
"Everyone's laughing at her name." Miyako said.
"But given everything that's happened today, I'm pretty sure that…" Moro felt the same.
But Kazama was just as oblivious, "Whoa, what's with that mask?! I want one now too!"
And the muscle-headed idiot Gakuto, "Miss Chivalry… Just who is she?"
"That neither of these two can figure out it's her… I was right." Moro pointed out.
"Mayucchi, do you know who she is?" Miyako turns to the swordswoman.
"I mean, even Margit-san is her second…" Mayucchi pointed out the other obvious fact.
"Right?" Miyako said.
"You'd think that'd make it obvious…" Yamato sighs out.
"I've got it! She must be an assassin sent by the German military!" Gakuto said… stupidly. I mean what the fuck dude!? You literally can't be this dumb.
"I get it now. She's planning to use this battle as a way to challenge Momo-senpai." Capt said.
I swear Capt and you have muscles for brains…
"And there they go again. Even Chivalry." Miyako says a tired sigh.
"Well Capt and Gakuto are the muscleheads of our group." Yamato replied.
Back with the match, "It looks like Miss chivalry is using a rapier. Momo-senpai, what do you think of Miss Chivalry?"
Momoyo replied, "She's one of the strongest in this tournament. And she's a friend of mine." Ooh, I swear to god… if she'd have played along… "Her disguise is perfect, but she can't change her unique aura."
Oh for fucks sake! I know she's just playing, but really?!
Jun replied, "I see… Then this first round matchup is between two powerful fighters. Her opponent, Shibukawa, is a favorite to win it all."
"Miss Chivalry" (Christiane Friedrich) vs. Shibukawa
"Oh, missy. You gonna fight me masked?" Shibukawa asked feeling slightly insulted.
Tesshin as referee raised his hand, "Stand tall and fight fair! Begin!"
Shibukawa charged forth, "Don't get yourself down 'cause you got matched up against me, Shibukawa!"
"Mm!?" Shibukawa goes in for the tackle.
"Shibukawa is tackling Chivalry! I can't believe a jujutsu master would tackle someone!" Jun playing the part of the energetic broadcaster.
"Pow!" Shibukawa goes at "Miss Chivalry" with several knifehand attacks.
"What a knifehand! Shibukawa is driving Miss Chivalry back!" Jun cheered.
"You were wise not to block. If I did get ahold of you, this would've been over." Shibukawa praises Chivalry.
"Hah!" But 'Miss Chivalry' ignored his compliments and focused only on the fight as she continues to dodge his attacks nearly reaching the edge.
"Chivalry's retreated even further! She's run out of space behind her!" Yes Jun, thanks for pointing out the obvious.
But Miss Chivalry shows no signs of distress, "I have established enough distance. Now is my turn to attack you."
"What the heck?! Where'd all that aggression come from?!" Shibukawa was shocked at Chivalry's sudden counterattack. "But a fencer can only stab… I'll wait for her to move in, then apply a technique."
"…" However as if she could sense her opponents intentions, Chivalry held back.
"Now come! Attack me head-on!" Shibukawa waited for the attack he was hoping for.
"Haaaahhhh!" Rapier in hand, Miss Chivalry dove in.
"There! She's coming straight at—" But the attack was too fast. "You're way too fast! Aaagghh!"
"Critical hit! Even from a replica, that's gotta hurt!" Jun cried out,
Shibukawa coughed, "Fencing really can improve your swordsmanship… So I've been defeated… truly… and utterly defeated…" And so he loses consciousness.
"The fighter is unable to continue! Miss Chivalry is the winner!" Tesshin announces.
"In respect to Shibukawa, I will reveal my identity." 'Miss Chivalry' said, and so she removed the mask revealing Chris, "For I wanted my presence to be a surprise."
"Whoa, Chivalry's freely removed her mask! Aaah, it's the surprise of the century!" Don't start Jun… "Miss Chivalry is none other than Kawakami Academy's own Christiane Friedrich!"
But even though to some it was obvious, the rest of the audience cheered loudly.
"What?! She even fooled me!" Capt confessed.
"Damnit Chris… you're one hell of an actress." Gakuto replied.
"No, you two are just that moronically dumb. But with Chris in the tournament… the next match will be…" Yamato said with a little worry.
(Waiting Room)
And there's Chris's reveal…
"So… Kuri's in the tournament?" Kazuko said.
"It seems so. I think she joined to prove herself and have fun. I don't think there's anything else to it." I replied.
Just then, Chris and her second, Margit had returned to the waiting room.
"Hahaha. I bet you were surprised, Dog and Nagamasa." Chris said with a friendly smile.
"Not really, you were quite obvious. Next time you want a disguise, do something more elaborate that also doesn't reveal any obvious features, like your long blonde hair…" I pointed out the obvious issues with her disguise.
"Ah, now that you mention it…" Kazuko tries to slink out of her reaction to Chris's "disguise."
"I wanted to support Dog in the tournament. I really did… but with a martial arts contest? I couldn't hold back the urge." Chris says.
I know that Chris's words bare no ill will, even though in the context of our situation they're more than naïve.
"Kuri, you know how much this tournament means to me." Kazuko got up and stood before Chris.
"And of course, I would not participate if I were not serious myself." Chris replied back.
"When we meet in third round, I won't hold anything back. I'm not the same girl you fought one your first day, I will win!" Kazuko declared.
"And I will not hold back either!" Chris matched that intensity. "Let's go, Maru-san."
"Are you sure?" Margit asks.
"Dog… no, Kazuko is more serious than I thought. As such, we will fight here as warriors. There is no need for small talk." Chris replies.
"You have such excellent resolve, Frau Chris." Margit compliments her sister figure.
"But when I do not know anyone else… I will not lie when I say this is a bit lonely…" Chris says.
"That is why I'm here. Please count on me." That's when Margit took out a flower from her hair.
"Oh." Chris smiled.
"I will not bore you." Margit promised Chris.
"I knew you would not, Maru-san!" As Chris puts the flower in her hair.
"Wanko, are you alright?" I asked Kazuko just to be sure.
"Yeah, like I said I'm not the same girl I was when we fought the first time. I'm a lot stronger now, and this is the perfect chance to get some payback." Kazuko replied.
"And even with Momoyo in the wings, this fight might just be your toughest. But I suppose in a martial arts contest, strong fighters will always appear." I said.
"Yeah. And besides if I can't surpass Kuri, then how can I ever surpass Onee-sama?" Kazuko countered.
"And I suppose in some ways if we told her what's really going on, that'd just make you feel horrible. Alright then, give it your all!" I cheer for her.
She'd made it this far, I had faith. Oh! That reminded me…
"Hey Wanko, I wanted to give you something." I told her as I brought something out of my bag.
"Hmm, what is it?" Kazuko asked as I presented her something that had been wrapped up.
"Open it, it came from my parents yesterday before the tournament as a sort of "How are you doing" present, but I think you'd find more use for it than me." I replied.
She undid the string keeping the wrap tight and she was shocked to find a Kaiken-style tantō dagger.
"Ooooh, it's so pretty." That's a weird way of praising a weapon, but alright.
"It's been in our family for some time now. It's called the Ichimonji, it's said that when our branch of the family existed in Japan that the lord of the house used this blade himself." I explained to her.
"But, if this belongs to your family, why give it to me?" Kazuko asked.
"Like I said, I think someone like you will find more use for it than me. I insist." I push it back into her hands. "Here…"
With that I fitted the dagger around her waist with the wrapping it had been in, "There, it might be a little loose, but it fits."
"Thanks, Nagamasa. I won't let your gift go to waste!" Kazuko told me.
And so the tournament continued on—
"Kawakami Ultimate: Snake Snipe!" Kazuko attacked her opponent a fighter by the name of Andre, the move causing him to lose his balance.
"Uwoh!?"
"Now that you've lost your balance… Kawakami Ultimate: Bird Suplex!" Andwith a powerful somersault kick, this time Andre was out for the count!
"GWAAH!" With such power he hit the wall on the far side.
*Crash!*
"What a somersault! Her kick has knocked Andre completely out of the ring!" Jun announced.
"Andre is out cold and out of bounds! Kawakami Kazuko is the winner!" Tesshin called.
"Kawakami Kazuko is moving onto round three, and with that the top eight!"
As for Chris—
"You're worthless! Nightmare Kick!" Chris's opponent, N. Bison charged with a scissor kick.
"I can see it!" Chris gracefully dodged the strike.
"Nwuh!? You dodged it?!" N. Bison panicked.
"Seigh!" Chris took her chance and thrusted forward with all her might.
"Guaaahhh!" And with that one stab, Bison was thrown from the arena.
"Another amazing match! One stab was just enough to send her foe outside the ring!"
"Chris is the winner!" Tesshin called.
"Chris has now won her place in the third round, and the top eight. And now she'll face off against Kawakami Kazuko!"
"Whoa, hey. They're gonna fight in round three?" Kazama pointed out.
"Who are we supposed to cheer for?" Gakuto asked.
"Whoever we want, I guess?" Moro replied.
"While I don't mean any disrespect to Chris, I think we owe Wano our support this time." Miyako made her choice.
"Yes, since she's so determined to face Momo-senpai." Mayucchi also agreed.
"Yeah, me too. Wanko's come too far for us to leave her hanging." Yamato also joined the two ladies.
"Well, it's nothing to wrack our brains over. Let's just cheer for who we wanna!" Kazama decided.
"It's now noon. So we'll be taking an hour long break before the next round!" And with that the few fighters remaining headed for the waiting room for lunch.
In another part of the temple—
"Whew." Tesshin let out a sigh.
"Hey there, Gramps, Assistant Master." Momoyo greeted them.
"Momoyo thank you for doing the color commentary." Lu thanked her.
"This is the moment, Momo." Tesshin said seriously.
Momoyo knew what he was talking about, "Yeah, finally. From what I saw Chris and I have to admit… Wanko are the strongest in this contest. So if Wanko gets past Chris… it's all hers."
"I feel the same way. The third round will be her hardest obstacle yet." Lu agreed.
"Yes, I agree as well. She is lucky that Chris eliminated the other big favorite, Shibukawa. Their round will be the de facto final round. And as such this will be her final trial. Remember the day Kazuko came to us? She said that she wanted to train as a full monk?" Tesshin thought back.
"Yes, I remember it clearly." Lu-sensei remembered as well.
"And you gave her that nasty test as well…" Momoyo recalled.
It had been several years back… Kazuko had only been with the Temple and the Kawakami Family for a short while but she wanted to do more. She wanted to be like the sister she had. She wanted to stand side-by-side with her.
To most at the Temple, Wanko had no martial instincts. They insisted she didn't need to train in order to fulfil some kind of obligation. But her continued insistence and her ethic won even Tesshin over.
And so he gave her a test. She had to crossover to another town and retrieved at steamed meat bun. But partway through, there would be an "injured man" who needed assistance, this was also part of the test.
Tesshin would not take in someone who was uncaring and wouldn't help those who were weak. Cruel as it was, especially for someone as young as Kazuko who had absolutely no martial arts experience; by some miracle…
She passed, with just a second to spare…
And even after several more… even when she couldn't stand on her own two feet she still was determined to do what she set out to do…
She did them all.
Such a vivid memory indeed.
"Those were the days…" Momoyo said enjoying the memory herself.
"Much time has past since then. And Kazuko is much stronger now then she was before." Even Tesshin praises her.
"She's progressed more than enough to become a junior assistant master, who assist the full assistant masters." Lu-sensei replies.
"Yet Kazuko is fixated on becoming a full assistant master." Tesshin points out.
"That so she can support the Grandmaster and Representative of the Temple… me." Momoyo replies. "Wanko…"
"A noble goal… But even so. A test is a test. She must succeed, or her path ends here. That Chris girl is quite strong, yet nothing an assistant master couldn't handle. A defeat to her would not constitute extenuating circumstances. But if someone like Ageha Kuki had participated, then it would be a different story… Accept that." Tesshin told his eldest granddaughter.
"Yeah… I know." Momoyo understood. "It's do or die, Kawakami Kazuko."
The break was slowly coming to an end… and the all-important third round would be Chris vs. Kazuko!
"This is it." I say.
"Yeah! I've been waiting for this!" Kazuko cheered.
"Give it your best out there. Ha, how many times have I said that now?" I say.
"It's all right. Giving it my best is what I'm good at. I'll give it 200%! Besides… I won't be alone on that stage since I've got this." She points to the tanto wrapped around her waist. "I feel like I've got you by my side when I have this with me."
"Wanko…" Damn it… "Alright then, get out there and go for it!" I tell her, but inside I'm holding myself back.
"Yeah, here I go!" And off she went towards the arena.
As I watched her head off I whispered, "Kazuko… I love you."
"Here's the match you've all been waiting for, Kawakami Kazuko vs. Christiane Friedrich! Two friends, fated to meet in the ring! This is sure to be an amazing match!" Jun announces.
In the stands, "Kazuko-dono! Now is your most important match! Hold nothing back!"
Even Azumi is cheering though I'm sure it's killing her inside, "Let's go, Kazuko, let's go! Yeah!"
But she's not the only one, "Let's go, Wanko, let's go!" Another maid cheered. In fact, Hideo had arranged for an entire cheer squad, all for Kazuko to support her.
But Margit was not one to be one-upped, "As expected of the Kuki Corporation. But we are the military."
Just then everyone heard the roar of a German fighter jet zoom by, "Who, a fighter jet! That jet just flew over the ring! And it seems to be writing a message in the sky with it's smoke trail… 'Good luck Chris!'"
I mean good lord…
"Can't you just cheer like normal people? Also are German aircraft even supposed to be here?" Miyako wondered.
"You know I'm pretty sure that violates a ton of military justice codes, and knowing Chris's father… he probably was the one who arranged it and gave it the go ahead." Yamato openly pondered.
"The government's only response will be a letter of reproach. So you see, there is no issue. We are free to do as we please." Margit simply replied.
"No, I'm pretty sure if military hardware that's supposed to be used by a top secret unit is not supposed to used for frivolous and wasteful uses like this I'm certain that officer would be court-martialed." I shot back.
"Then you presume much…" Margit replied.
The both of us simply stood there, a strange tension forming over the two of us. This woman… She's just like Momoyo, yet she won't admit it… Damn that irks me!
Why… why do I feel… No, no! Bad thoughts!
Haaaah… Serenity now.
Back on the stage…
"Good luck, Kazuko." Chris replies for the first time with her full name.
"Same to you, Chris." Kazuko returned the favor.
"They're both fired up. Kuri's not going to hold back." Momoyo says.
"There's such determination in her eyes… The flames I thought I saw before burn even brighter. I'm glad I gave Frau Chris that firm message. Even I can tell that warrior Kazuko is different too, and her determination and resolve burn just as bright… If Frau Chris doesn't take her seriously…" Margit's thoughts on the soon-to-be fight overtake her.
Chris vs. Kazuko
Tesshin stands between them, "Stand tall and fight far… BEGIN!"
Chris draws her rapier, "Here I go!"
"Okay, let's go!" Kazuko is also primed and ready as she swung her naginata.
"Both fighters ready their weapons! And here I was thinking they'd start with a few light punches first." Jun says.
Momoyo replies, "Neither of them is cocky enough to do that."
"…!" Chris and Kazuko stare at each other, facing the other down. A pure mental battle had begun.
"And both of them have yet to move from their starting stances! But the fight's underway… right?" Even Inoue seemed surprised by this non-violent opening.
"Yeah. Right now, this is a battle of the mind; of their spirit." Momoyo replied.
Even some in the audience could feel it, "Whoa, they're both psyched up." Kazama said as he gulped.
"I know Wanko's takin' this seriously cause she wants to fight Momo-senpai, what could push Chris this far?" Gakuto asked.
"It's simple. She's simply matching Wanko's enthusiasm." Miyako simply answered.
"Oh, so full power against full power? Right, that makes sense." Gakuto seemed to understand now.
"But nevertheless, watching this is making me thirsty." Mayucchi said.
"I would say that Chris is got the upper hand, but Wanko-chan…" Matsukaze noted but stopped short.
Back in the area—
"You really have… gotten stronger since the day I transferred here, Kazuko." Chris thought to herself.
"I knew you'd be this strong once you got serious, Chris." Kazuko's also thought to herself.
"But regardless of your resolve, I will not suffer a lose from you!" Chris resolved herself.
"There's no way I'll lose to you a second time. I have to win!" Kazuko also resolved herself.
"Neither of them's broken a sweat yet." Moro pointed out.
"Yeah, when I once fought Kazuko-san in a practice spar, I could tell her mental fortitude wasn't as robust, but now she is most resolute. Her mind and body are finally one." Mayucchi said. "Even so, I'm sure the mental strain for both of them is immense."
"I thought I would've had a chance. But she shows no signs of fatigue… Huh?" That's when Chris spotted it, a single drop of sweat… No, but such a simple line of thought will lead to my defeat just that quickly. If I jump in too quickly, a counter from her naginata will be dangerous. I have to wait for that one singular moment!"
And so the both of them continued this mental/spirit battle it went on for nearly an hour long, "An hour has passed, and yet they still stare at each other. While the crowd was first silenced by this tension, I can start to hear grumblings in the stands."
A spectator yelled out, "Hey, start fighting already!"
Another yelled, "Go get her, go!"
"We're now starting to get fans call out to the fighters." Jun said.
"But I don't think those two girls can hear a thing." Momoyo replied.
"That drop of sweat from before has finally begun to slide… once it falls from her brow to her eyes; that will be the moment to strike!" Chris finally saw her chance!
"Chris… you're really amazing. But I can tell you're ready to move, and don't think that drop of sweat has escaped me either. Even so… when she moves… that'll be my chance!" Kazuko continued to hold her ground against Chris, their Ki still going back and forth. "And even if I can't see in that moment, I'll find you with that sharp aura of yours!"
It was just then that sweat dropped into Kazuko's eye!
"Haaaahhhh!" Like a hawk, Chris attacked with a nearly unmatched speed.
"Now!" But Kazuko was ready as well, as she swung at Chris' aura.
"Gah!" A direct hit from Kazuko on Chris! The naginata had slammed into Chris's side.
"What a hit! Kawakami Kazuko has scored first blood!" Jun cheers.
"Gh…!" Chris coughs from the strength of the hit she took.
"Frau Chris!" Margit called out.
"I-I am fine! I can still fight!" Chris replies.
"Ah, seems Chris can still get on her feet!" Jun said.
"This is just an estimate, but I think that attack took away nearly 40% of Chris's HP. Should the next attack connect this will be over." Momoyo said commentating on the fight. "Kuri wasn't able to get in close enough with her rapier, thanks to Kazuko's naginata and it's longer range. Can Kazuko use that to her advantage?"
"Seyah!" Seeing victory in her sights, Kazuko unleashed a torrent of slashes and cuts at Chris.
"Guh…!" Chris found herself forced to parry such a larger weapon, it's heavy attacks blew her away. "I was right. Your attacks truly are heavier and faster than before!"
And even so with each parry, the force of the naginata drove her back, "I have to close the distance!" "No, you're staying right where I want you!"
At the announcer's desk even Momoyo was silently cheering her sister, "Yes! Just maintain that distance!"
"Nngh…" Chris still forced to retreat found herself at the arena's edge.
"I can win!" Kazuko saw this as her chance!
"Wait! No, Kazuko!" That's too close!
"Now, keep going straight out of bounds!" It was just at that strong, heavy swing that carried victory was the moment that Chris was waiting for.
"Too sloppy!" Chris had jumped and landed gracefully onto Wanko's naginata.
"Hah!? You landed on top of my naginata?!" Kazuko panicked in the moment.
Without a moment's delay, Chris made to stab at Wanko's shoulder, "Seyah!"
"Haaaggg!?" Finishing her attack, Chris alighted in the air as she landed on the ground, her blond hair twirling in the air.
All while Kazuko thudded in the dirt, "A powerful hit on Kazuko's shoulder! What a hit indeed!"
"D-Did she just attack from on top of the other girl's naginata?" A befuddled spectator reacted.
"D-Damn! How's that even legal?!" Another was just as shocked.
"Such grace! She's just like Ushiwakamaru!" Yeah, I think Yoshitsune of this world is much stronger… and prettier in my opinion.
"It takes amazing instincts to do something like that… Kuri's pretty good herself." Momoyo said.
Lu-sensei had been watching from the sidelines, "That last swing was a mistake… Seems there's still just a tinge of impatience still there, Kazuko."
"Seems we've both suffered the same amount of damage, Kazuko" Chris tells Kazuko.
"So what?" Kazuko brings herself up while gripping her right shoulder.
"Kazuko, are you alright?" I call to her.
"This is nothing! We're just getting started!" Kazuko cheered as she took up her naginata again.
"Exactly!" Chris matched her intensity.
"I won't let you get in range again!" Kazuko struck at Chris from outside her range, batting away her rapier.
"Gh… You are fast!" And so sparks flew, metal clashed against metal. Neither girl was giving an inch.
"Whoa, looks like Wanko's back on the attack." Kazama said.
"Then Chris can't get into range." Gakuto pointed out.
Even as she desperately parried the storm of strikes sent her way, her eyes never left her foe for a moment.
"You're right. Any attempt to move in would be the end of her. He old Wanko would've already lost her focus and exposed herself, but…" Miyako noticed.
"There's none of that heavy impatience from before. Chris cannot possibly counterattack. Normally, that would give her no choice but to retreat. But today…"
"Kh… My shoulder!" Just as Kazuko went in for another attack the pain in her shoulder flared.
"I knew it!" That moment where Wanko's movements were dulled… "Your attacks are somewhat lacking!"
Chris charged resolutely.
"So what! Deyah!" Kazuko blocked the strike with her naginata. But the force of the thrust pushed both girls back to center-ring, plenty of space for Chris to work with.
"Gh! Uh-oh!" Kazuko just realized it.
Chris was now too close… "And now it's my turn!"
"And now it's Chris's turn as she lets loose a series of sharp stabs!"
Chris's narrow blade stabbed again and again, pelting at Kazuko relentlessly.
"Ow-Oh!" As if she were dancing at her foe. "Too many, I can't parry all of—Ugh!" One blow hit her arm, another her leg.
"Damn, she's going at her like a machine gun!" Kazama said on the edge of his seat.
"Chris's gonna slice and dice her!" Gakuto said worryingly.
"You're right, unless Wanko can put some distance between the two of them, but…" Miyako watched on.
"I won't let you recover!" Chris stepped forward as she attacked, not leaving an opening for her opponent to react or reestablish her distance.
"Kazuko-dono!?" Hideo called out in panic seeing Kazuko on the backfoot as her opponent relentlessly takes the attack.
"Dam Chris, you truly are a soldier's daughter… you spot one weakness, one gap and you hammer away at it relentlessly… I'd be impressed, but if for one thing…" I said to myself as I watched the match unfold seemingly no different than how it did before.
"Gh, u-ugh…" And yet again Kazuko suffered another vicious blow. This time knocking her off her feet.
"Victory is mine!" Chris coiled her body, charging her final attack.
"Oh no…" I muttered under my breath.
"Point Blank Stab!" And with a fierce blow from Chris…
"Waaahhh!" Kazuko was knocked away once more off her feet.
"Kazuko!" Gen yelled from the stands in worry. Everyone from the Kazama Family themselves were shocked by the powerful display.
"Ooh, that's gotta hurt! But… is this it?" Jun says playing up this seemingly cliffhanger like moment.
Chris convinced that Kazuko had taken too much damage said to herself, "It must be…"
But despite being on the ground, Kazuko whispered to herself, "We're… spaced…"
"Huh?" Chris was confused by Kazuko's words.
"We're… spaced out… now…" Kazuko further said.
Chris was still unsure what she meant, "What are you saying?"
"Thanks for knocking me away from you…" Kazuko says as she coughs, she always picks herself up. "You're right… where me and my naginata… want you."
Chris was astonished, "You stood back up?" But Chris then realized, the damage she'd sustained at the start of the match still strained her body. So she wondered if that stopped her from gaining the necessary momentum to unleash the full damage of her attack.
"Wanko also focused her Ki on the places where she was struck. That should've deflected some of the damage." Momoyo commented.
"How shameful of me, to fail to build up sufficient power to use my finishing blow." Chris chided herself.
"Now it's my turn!" Kazuko stood up with her naginata in hand, still ready to fight.
"Very well then, I promised to meet you head-on, come at me Kazuko!" Chris stood her ground as well.
"For so long I've always been running ahead chasing Onee-sama, and I never really thought about myself. And now… I have my own dream I want to obtain, and I'll do it with my own hands. Chris… thanks. Thank you for helping be my last obstacle…" Kazuko thought to herself.
"Haaah!" Both girls yelled in unison as they charged each other. As they both collided in the middle, they turned to face their opponent as Kazuko tried to regain the advantage and much to Chris's surprise found herself on the defensive again.
"There!" Chris, ever the observant one found another hole in Kazuko's attack her blow this time throwing her away and knocking her naginata from her grip and having it land blade-first into the stone arena. It seemed as though Kazuko's strength had run it's course.
"Haah?!" With no weapon in-hand and seemingly defenseless Kazuko could only back up as Chris advanced on her.
"You fought well, Kazuko. But this is over!" Just as Chris charged at her sparks flew as a shocked Chris and audience saw that Kazuko had blocked the thrust with the dagger I'd given her, stopping the rapier directly with the blade.
"Hah!" Kazuko countered as she pushed the thin blade up and parried the blade away, after which Chris attempted several stabs and even a slash; but were all dodged and in the last case Kazuko found the strength to knock her rapier from her hands sending it flying.
"My rapier…!" Kazuko took advantage of the confusion as she then nimbly jumped from Chris's head as she caught her own opponent's weapon as she landed on her feet and turned to face Chris.
"Say hello, to my Ichimonji!" Kazuko said as she showed off the dagger. Kazuko charged in and Chris in a slight panic grabbed Kazuko's naginata to defend herself, but sadly unknown to this weapon could only do so much as to block.
Kazuko, ever the observant fighter in her own right and having studied fencing in her spare time since the defeat she'd suffered after her loss to Chris pounced on her as she unleashed stab after stab; forcing Chris to guard against the sword.
Kazuko then sidestepped one of Chris's attempts to swing the naginata which Kazuko dodged, as she then just as Chris did to her jumped on her own naginata and then cut it in half to Chris shock.
Jumping off, Kazuko then charged once more at the German transfer as she then stabbed, but then jumped in the air as Chris used the two pieces to guard against Kazuko's attack, but in the air Kazuko came down hard as she kicked Chris in the face, and not having realized it, the strength was enough to knock her out of the arena!
"Frau Chris!" Margit ran over to check on her charge.
"YAAAAY!" The crowd erupted in cheers as Kazuko stood victorious, but fell over to onto her back from the intense battle.
"Kazuko-dono! Congratulations!" Hideo cheered.
"She.. won…" Capt was shocked as were all the other Kazama family memebrs seated besides him. His words were the same thing on all of their minds.
"Kazuko… you won… YOU WON!" I cheered loudly which caused her to turn to me and give me a thumbs up.
Tesshin having also been caught up the shock of the moment it would seem finally called the match, "The opponent is out of bounds! Kawakami Kazuko… is the winner!"
The crowd continued to cheer for several more minutes as I went up to help Kazuko to her feet. As we looked over to the commentator's booth, we could see Momoyo looking back at her sister. Kazuko merely looked back, but didn't respond perhaps too weak to do so.
And with that, the round was over… and history had changed.
AN#1 – Well here's the twelfth part of the Kazuko Route – "The Daughter of Kawakami" to my Majikoi story, I'm NOT a Samurai, Seriously.
And you guys thought I wouldn't do it…
But history has been changed! Or has it…? Nah, I'm just kidding!
But Kazuko has beaten Chris in a rather… unorthodox way, with her opponent's own weapon no less. But now comes the hardest part.
Her last opponent… her own sister. The Goddess of Martial Arts…
What will happen next?
