Exploring the Isle of Armor
While Clyde was doing the 1st Dojo Trial, the Louds were busy exploring. They checked out the area around the dojo and found several more Alolan Digletts and brought them back to their trainer. After that, they continued to check out the area.
"Where should we look first?" asked Lana. Lincoln brings up the Isle of Armor map on his Rotom Phone and looks at it.
"There are so many places to see here. I don't know where to begin." said Lincoln.
"Let's split up and look around." said Luna.
"Good idea." said Lincoln. But before he puts his Rotom Phone away, he remembers the Rockruff he caught earlier. He brings up his Pokemon Storage app and uses it to swap his Thievul for Rockruff. "Let's meet back here in a few hours."
"Okay, Linky." said Leni. Everyone goes off to explore. While Leni was checking out the area near the dojo, she hears some rustling from some nearby grass. She looks to see a brown rabbitlike Pokemon with pink fur covering the lower half of its body and tufts of pink fur on the tips of her ears hop out. Leni points her Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Buneary, the Rabbit Pokemon. Buneary can attack by rolling up their ears and then striking with the force created by unrolling them. This attack becomes stronger with training." said the Rotom Phone.
"Hmm. Why does the picture show you having yellow fur instead of pink?" asked Leni. "But it doesn't matter to me because you're TOTES ADORBS!" Buneary tilts her head in confusion, making Leni squeal with delight. "I really want to catch you, but I don't want to hurt you." Leni thinks for a second before she gets an idea. She takes out Ralts' pokeball and releases her from it. "Okay, Ralts. Use Hypnosis." Ralts' eyes glow blue and sleep-inducing waves come out of them which hit Buneary and made it fall asleep. Leni takes out a Heal Ball and throws it at Buneary. The Heal Ball hits Buneary and sucks it in. After the ball wiggles a few times, it clicks, indicating a successful capture. "Yay. I caught Buneary." She looks at her Rotom Phone to see Buneary's information. "My new Buneary is a girl, she knows Splash, Pound, Defense Curl, Baby-Doll Eyes, and After You. She has the Limber ability which makes her immune to paralysis." Just then, Ms. Honey comes out and sees Leni.
"Hello, Leni." said Ms. Honey.
"Hi, Ms. Honey." said Leni.
"How are you doing?" asked Ms. Honey.
"I'm doing great. I just caught a Buneary." said Leni. She lets Buneary out of her Heal Ball. Ms. Honey gasped as she sees Buneary's fur color.
"Oh my! You caught a shiny Buneary!" exclaimed Ms. Honey.
"Hmm. Her fur looks soft, but not shiny. Maybe it can be with the proper shampoo and conditioner." Leni says.
"No, dear. A shiny Pokemon is like a regular Pokemon, but its color is different from normal ones." explained Ms. Honey.
"Is that bad?" asked Leni.
"Of course not." said Ms. Honey. "It's just a very rare occurence. It doesn't mean it's sick or anything."
"Oh, good. I was worried for a minute." said Leni.
"I'm glad. And I love Buneary's fur color." said Ms. Honey.
"I know." said Leni with excitement. While Leni was talking with Ms. Honey, Luna was exploring inside a cave known as Brawler's Cave. Luna looks around when she sees a pale purple Pokemon with two long flaps that resembled rabbit ears on its head.
"What's this Pokemon?" asked Luna. She takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Whismur, the Whisper Pokemon. When Whismur cries, the sound of its own voice startles it, making the Pokemon cry even louder. It cries until it's exhausted, then it falls asleep." said the Rotom Phone.
"Why would it be known as the Whisper Pokemon when this clearly says it cries really loud?" asked Luna. "Whatever. If it's loud, then I want it." She pulls out a pokeball. "Roggenrola, let's rock." She throws Roggenrola's pokeball and releases her. "All right, dudette, use Smack Down!" Roggenrola forms a golden ball of energy in front of her and launches at Whismur, hitting it. Whismur opens its mouth and releases soundwaves from it and they hit Roggenrola, but not doing much damage. "Huh. Must've been a normal type attack. Good thing those don't do much against rock type Pokemon. All right, Roggenrola, use Mud-Slap!" Roggenrola kicks the cave floor and unleashes a brown glob of mud, and it hits Whismur in the face. Whismur unleashes another soundwave much stronger than the first one, but misses Roggenrola. "Good thing Mud-Slap lowers a Pokemon's accuracy. Now Roggenrola, Tackle!" Roggenrola runs at Whismur and rams it, knocking it to the ground. Luna quickly takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Whismur, hitting it and sucking it in. It wiggled once and clicks, indicating Whismur's capture. Luna picks up Whismur's pokeball. "Yeah! Whismur is mine!" She takes out her Rotom Phone to learn more about her new Whismur. "All right, my new Whismur is a dude, he knows Astonish, Pound, Echoed Voice, Howl, Rest, and Sleep Talk. He has an ability called Soundproof, which makes him immune to sound moves like Supersonic and Growl. Rad!" She puts Whismur's pokeball away and continues to explore Brawler's Cave. With Lola, she was heading down to the beach where she was digging up pearls earlier.
"I don't think anyone would mind if I grabbed a few more pearls." said Lola. As she walks, some rustling from some nearby grass gets her attention. She looks as a pink, egg-shaped Pokemon that looks like it has a ponytail with a red band tied around it, red cheeks, and she appeared to be wearing red pants with a white waistline and an oval-shaped stone in it, hop out. "EEEEEEEEEE! YOU'RE SO CUTE! And I love your coloring, too!" Lola takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Happiny, the Playhouse Pokemon. Happiny's willing to lend its precious round stone to those it's friendly with, but if the stone isn't returned, Happiny will cry and throw a tantrum." said the Rotom Phone.
"So if you borrow something from it and don't give it back it gets upset?" says Lola. "Sounds like my kind Pokemon." Lola pulls out Azurill's Heal Ball and lets her out of it. "Okay, Azurill. You're up." Azurill and the Happiny stare each other down. "Azurill, use Tail Whip!" Azurill turns and wags her tail at Happiny, making it upset and lowering its' defense. In response, Happiny curls up into a ball. "Azurill, use Slam!" Azurill slams her tail onto Happiny, doing some damage. Happiny uncurls itself and gives Azurill a kiss on her forehead. Azurill starts to stumble around. "Azurill? What's wrong with you? Hurry and use Bubblebeam!" Azurill tries to use Bubblebeam, but she stumbles and hurts herself when she falls onto the ground. Happiny runs at Azurill and hits her with its hand. Azurill shakes her head and seems to come back to her senses. "Okay, Azurill. Try Bubblebeam again!" This time, Azurill releases a stream of glowing bubbles which hits Happiny. Lola quickly pulls out another Heal Ball and throws it at Happiny, hitting it and sucking it in. The ball wiggles a few times before it clicks. "Good work, Azurill." Azurill smiles in response. Lola picks up Happiny's Heal Ball and puts it away. She then looks at her Rotom Phone for Happiny's information. "Okay, this says you're a girl which I'm happy about, you know Minimize, Pound, Copycat, Defense Curl, Sweet Kiss, and Disarming Voice. She has the ability Serene Grace which I like the sound of. This says that the chance of a move having a secondary effect are doubled." She then goes to the beach to do more pearl digging. Back at Brawler's Cave, Luna was looking around.
"Hey, Luna." said Lucy from behind Luna, scaring her and causing her to scream.
"Dude! Stop doing that!" said Luna.
"I can't help it." said Lucy. She suddenly hears the sound of flapping wings. She looks up to see a round, blue Pokemon with bat wings, and a snout with a heart shaped nostril. Lucy takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Woobat, the Bat Pokemon. It emits ultrasonic waves as it flutters about, searching for prey-bug Pokemon." said the Rotom Phone.
"Wow. I'm catching this Pokemon." said Lucy. She pulls out a pokeball. "Gastly, go." She throws Gastly's pokeball and releases her. "Gastly, use Lick." Gastly flies at Woobat and licks it, doing super effective damage due to Woobat being part psychic which are weak against ghost type attacks. Woobat shudders and becomes surrounded by electricity. "Looks like Gastly's Lick has paralyzed Woobat." Woobat becomes surrounded by a purple glow and Gastly gets knocked back, recieving a lot of damage. "Oh yeah. Gastly, use Confuse Ray." A purple ball of energy forms in front of Gastly and she launches it at Woobat, hitting it. She begins flying around dizzily. It flaps its wings, but smacks itself in the face with them. "Use Payback." Gastly unleashes streams of black energy at Woobat and hits it, causing super effective damage and knocking Woobat to the ground. Lucy takes out a pokeball and throws it at Woobat, hitting it. It gets sucked into the pokeball and it wiggles around and clicks, indicating its capture. Lucy picks up Woobat's pokeball. "Woobat is mine." She takes out her Rotom Phone. "Okay, this says Woobat is a girl, she knows Gust, Attract, Confusion, (a/n: The first move Woobat used on Gastly.) Endeavor and Air Cutter. (a/n: That was the move Woobat tried to use on Gastly, but her confusion prevented her from using it.) She has an ability called Unaware, which has her ignore her opponent's stat modifications."
"Good job, little dudette." said Luna.
"Thanks." replied Lucy. As they turned to exit the cave, Lucy sees a red, four-pointed crystal near a rock. Lucy walks over to it and picks it up. "I wonder what this is?"
"No clue. Let's find Lincoln and see if he knows." said Luna. She and Lucy both exited Brawler's Cave. Lana in the meantime was walking down what was known as Challenge Road. She was walking past some tall grass when she heard some rustling coming from it. She looks to see a black, lizard-like Pokemon walk out of it.
"What's this Pokemon?" asked Lana. She takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Salandit, the Toxic Lizard Pokemon. This sneaky Pokemon will slink behind its prey and immobilize it with poisonous gas before the prey even realizes Salandit is there." said the Rotom Phone.
"Cool. I'm catching this Pokemon." said Lana as she pulls a pokeball out of hier pocket. "Tympole, let's go." She throws Tympole's Net Ball and releases him. "Okay, Tympole, use Mud Shot!" Tympole opens his mouth and unleashes a barrage of globs of mud, and they hit Salandit, hitting it and causing super effective damage. Salandit lunges at Tympole while its teeth were glowing purple and it bites into Tympole's tail, hurting him. It suddenly turns purple under Tympole's eyes. "Oh man, I think you're poisoned, Tympole." Tympole coughs and loses a bit of stamina. Lana glares at Salandit. "Big mistake, Salandit! Tympole, use Bubblebeam!" Tympole unleashes a beam of glowing bubbles from his mouth, and it hits Salandit, causing super effective damage, making it collapse. Lana takes an empty pokeball out of her pocket and throws it at Salandit, hitting it and sucking it in. After wiggling around for a few seconds, it stops, indicating Salandit's capture. Lana picks up the pokeball. "Oh yeah! Salandit is mine." She takes out her Rotom Phone to learn more about her new Salandit. "Okay, it says here Salandit is a girl, she knows Scratch, Poison Gas, Smog, Ember, and Poison Fang, which I'm guessing is the move she used on you, Tympole. Oh, and she has the ability, Corrosion, which makes her able of poisoning a Pokemon, even when it's a steel or poison type. She looks at Tympole who was coughing from his poisoning. "Come on, Tympole, let's find Lincoln. Maybe he has an antidote or something that could help."
She grabs Tympole and carries him down Challenge Road. As she does, she sees a gold nugget near a rock and stops to pick it up while holding onto Tympole in her other arm. She arrives at an area called the Training Lowlands. When she got there, it began to rain. As Lana looked around for Lincoln, she looks at Tympole who to her surprise, was smiling and was no longer purple under his eyes. "Hey, Tympole, you're starting to look better." Her eyes suddenly widened. "Oh yeah, your Hydration ability! It cures you of any status condition when it's raining, like it is right now. Cool!" She hugs Tympole. "Glad you're all better, buddy." She suddenly felt something pressing against her leg. She looks down to see a light brown, puppy-like Pokemon near her. She takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Lillipup, the Puppy Pokemon. This Pokemon is far brighter than the average child, and Lillipup won't forget the love it recieves or any abuse it suffers." said the Rotom Phone. Lana kneels down and pets the Lillipup who whimpers.
"What's wrong? You don't like getting wet?" asked Lana. Lillipup nods in response. "Me neither, I hate baths. Say, if you want, you can come with me." Lillipup barks happily in response. Lana takes out an empty pokeball and presses it against Lillipup's head lightly, sucking it in. Lana watches the pokeball wiggling in her hand until it stops and clicks, indicating Lillipup's capture. "Yeah! Lillipup is my newest Pokemon, and I didn't even need to battle it!" She takes out her Rotom Phone to learn about her Lillipup. "Okay, it says you're a boy, you know Tackle, Leer, Work Up, Bite, and Retaliate. You have the Vital Spirit ability which keeps you from sleeping. Awesome! Two new Pokmeon in one day!" In the Soothing Wetlands, Lincoln was exploring while looking around for some Pokemon for his collection. He also takes the time to look for Alolan Digletts for their trainer. He also trains his Pokemon a little. His Raboot learned Agility, his Corvisquire learned Taunt, his Gyarados learned Crunch, his Yamper learned Spark and Roar, his Riolu learned Rock Smash, and his Rockruff learned Howl and Bite. As he trained, he sees a small yellow Pokemon with a cone-shaped tail, no limbs, a blue underside and white wings on its back. Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Dunsparce, the Land Snake Pokemon. The nests Dunsparce live in are mazes of tunnels. They never get lost in their own nests-they can tell where they are by the scent of the dirt." said the Rotom Phone.
"Well, I don't have this Pokemon for my collection. Maybe I'll try capturing it." said Lincoln as he takes out Yamper's pokeball and releases him from it. "Okay, Yamper. Use Spark!" Yamper coats his body in electricity and rams into the Dunsparce. Dunsparce responds by slapping the ground in front of it, sending mud flying into Yamper's eyes and doing super effective damage, along with lowering his accuracy. "Oh man. That was Mud-Slap. Yamper, try using Spark again!" Yamper runs at Dunsparce, but runs past it. Dunsparce turns around flails about, hitting Yamper. "That must be Flail. Yamper, use Bite!" Yamper jumps at Dunsparce and successfully bites it, making it flinch. Lincoln takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Dunsparce, hitting it and sucking it in. The ball wiggles a bit before clicking. Lincoln runs over and picks up the pokeball. "All right! I caught a Dunsparce!" The ball vanishes from Lincoln's hands and goes to storage. Lincoln turns to look at Yamper. "Hey. boy. Are you okay?" Yamper barks in response and wags his tail. He stops suddenly and begins to glow. "Yamper! You're evolving!" Yamper glows for a few seconds before it stops, showing that Yamper was bigger, his body, legs, tail, and snout were longer; and parts of his body have black fur. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the newly evolved Yamper.
"Boltund, the Dog Pokemon and the evolved form of Yamper. It sends electricity through its legs to boost their strength. Running at top speed, it easily breaks 50 mph." said the Rotom Phone. Lincoln runs to his new Boltund and hugs him.
"This is awesome!" said Lincoln. Boltund jumps onto Lincoln and licks his face repeatedly.
"Lincoln!" someone shouts to him. He looks to see Lana, along with Leni, Luna, and Lucy running over to him. They all look at Lincoln's new Boltund.
"Dude! Did Yamper evolve?" asked Luna.
"Just a few seconds before you all got here." said Lincoln. His sisters go up to Boltund and start petting him. As they do, Lincoln looks around and sees another an Alolan Diglett.
"Hey, guys. Wanna help me find some more Alolan Digletts? This is a pretty big area to search." asked Lincoln.
"This area does look big." said Lucy.
"If we all work together, we should be able to cover the area in no time." said Lana.
"Great. Let's go." said Lincoln. They all search every inch of the Soothing Wetlands and found twenty Digletts which go back to their trainer.
"So what now?" asked Luna.
"Let's head back to the Digletts' trainer and see how many we found for him. Maybe he'll give us some more Alolan Pokemon." suggested Lincoln.
"Sounds good to me." said Lana. They all leave the Soothing Wetlands and see Clyde heading back towards the dojo.
"I wonder how Clyde did with his trial?" asked Leni.
"We'll ask after we see that Diglett trainer." said Lincoln. As they approached the bridge where the Diglett trainer was, they see Lola walking up the path on the other side of it.
"I wonder if Lola caught any Pokemon." said Lana.
"She probably spent time looking for pearls." said Lucy.
"That sounds right." said Lana. Lola sees them and runs over to greet them.
"Hi, everybody." said Lola.
"Hey, Lola. Did you find anything?" asked Lana. Lola takes out Happiny's Heal Ball and releases her from it who happily greets them all.
"AWWWWWWW!" everyone said over how cute Happiny was.
"She's totes adorbs!" said Leni. She takes out her Buneary's Heal Ball and lets her out. Everyone looked at her with adoration.
"She's so cute! And I love the pink fur on her!" said Lola.
"It's a shiny Buneary." said Leni surprising Lincoln.
"I've learned about shiny Pokemon back at the Wedgehurst Pokemon Research Lab. They're very rare. I'm amazed you found one." said Lincoln.
"So, what are you guys doing here?" asked Lola.
"We found some more Alolan Digletts so we're going to see their trainer about how many we found and see if he'll give us more Alolan Pokemon." said Lincoln.
"Okay. I want to see if he'll give us a cute Pokemon." said Lola. They walk up to the Diglett trainer who happily greets.
"Hello, everyone!" said the Diglett trainer.
"Hello, sir." said Lincoln. "Did the Digletts we find come back to you?"
"You bet they did. I'm amazed you all found so many." said the trainer.
"We are a very good team." said Lincoln as his sisters nod in agreement. The Diglett trainer takes out two pokeballs.
"As thanks for all you've done for me, I'll give you two more Alolan Pokemon." said the Diglett trainer as he opens them and lets out a white Vulpix, and a light blue Pokemon with a light tan belly, curved back, and thick-plated skin. Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at the new Pokemon.
"Sandshrew, the Mouse Pokemon. It lives in snowy mountains on southern islands. When a blizzard rolls in, this Pokemon hunkers down in the snow to avoid getting blown away." said the Rotom Phone.
"That's an Alolan Sandshrew. Other ones around other parts of the world are ground types; but an Alolan Sandshrew is part ice and part steel type." said the Diglett Trainer. The girls were looking at the Vulpix.
"She's beautiful!" said Lola.
"She looks like Leni's Vulpix, but its fur is white." said Luna.
"An Alolan Vulpix is different from ones you find anywhere else. An Alolan Vulpix is an ice type Pokemon." explained the Diglett trainer.
"Ooh. I want Vulpix!" said Lola.
"Okay, Lola." said Lincoln. The Diglett trainer returns the Alolan Vulpix to its pokeball and hands it to Lola who then looks up Vulpix's information on her Rotom Phone.
"Okay. This says my new Vulpix is a girl, she knows Powder Snow, Tail Whip, and Disable. She also has the Snow Warning ability which makes it snow when she's released from her pokeball." said Lola.
"Who gets Sandshrew?" asked Lucy.
"I guess I'll take it." said Lincoln. The Diglett trainer returns the Alolan Sandshrew to its pokeball and gives it to Lincoln who looks at its information on his Rotom Phone.
"This says my new Sandshrew is a boy, he knows Scratch, Defense Curl, and Mist. His ability is Slush Rush which doubles his speed when it's snowing outside." said Lincoln.
"So, what now?" asked Lana.
"Let's see how Clyde is doing. After that we'll do more Diglett hunting." said Lincoln.
"Thanks, kids. I really appreciate this." said the Diglett Trainer.
"No problem, sir. Thanks for the new Pokemon." said Lincoln. With that, they all walk towards the Master Dojo just as Clyde exited it.
"Hey, guys." said Clyde as he waves at them.
"Hi, Clyde. How did you do with those Slowpokes?" asked Lincoln.
"I passed the trial." said Clyde with a smile.
"That's awesome. Congratulations, Clyde." said Lincoln. Clyde pulls out his new Bulbasaur's pokeball.
"Look at what I got for passing." said Clyde as he releases his new Bulbasaur.
"Cool." said Lana.
"What Pokemon is this?" asked Lincoln.
"It's called a Bulbasaur. He's part grass and part poison type." said Clyde. He takes out Kirlia's pokeball and lets him out of it.
"What's that?" asked Leni with interest. "I totes love the outfit."
"This is Kirlia. Ralts' evolved form." said Clyde surprising everyone.
"Wow! Your Ralts evolved?!" asked Lincoln.
"You know it." said Clyde.
"So, this is what my Ralts will evolve into?" asked Leni.
"I think so." said Clyde.
"I am totes going to train my Ralts until she evolves." said Leni.
"So, what are you up to now, dude?" asked Luna. Clyde tells them about his next trial.
"We know you can do it, Clyde." said Lincoln.
"You got that right." said Lana.
"Thanks, guys." said Clyde. Just then, Master Mustard comes out.
"Oh. Hello, everyone." said Master Mustard.
"Hello, sir." said Lana.
"Can I talk to Clyde about something?" asked Master Mustard.
"Sure. We're gonna go explore some more anyway." said Lincoln.
"Very well." said Master Mustard. "Clyde. Please walk with me."
"Yes, Master Mustard." said Clyde. He looks at everyone else. "See you all later."
"See ya, Clyde." everyone else said. Clyde and Master Mustard start walking towards the Soothing Wetlands area. Lincoln turns to look at his sisters.
"Ready to do some more exploring?" asked Lincoln.
"Yeah!" his sisters respond.
"That's the spirit. Let's go." said Lincoln. They all head out to continue their adventure.
