Turffield Gym Battles (Part Three)
Luna walks into the area where the Gym Test is taking place. A staff member waiting there explains the rules to her.
"When you're ready, you may begin." said the staff member.
"Thanks, dude." said Luna. Luna looks at all the Wooloos. Luna brings up her electric guitar and begins playing it while screaming and running at the Wooloos. This scared them straight through the barricade. Luna does this through the entire Gym Test. She soon reaches the other end of the test area and the Wooloos go into their pens. Luna then walks up the stairs to the top and begins jamming on her guitar as smoke shoots up from the sides of her, indicating her success. "Thank you, Turffield!" Back at Royal Woods.
"Luna did it." said Lynn Sr.
"She rocks!" said Luan.
"That was so cool." said Bobby.
"Reminds me of the concerts I used to sneak out to when I was about her age." said Maria. Back at Turffield Stadium, Luan is walking out a stadium tunnel while Milo is walking out another one and they both soon reached the center of the pitch.
"I must say, Luna, you had a unique way of herding those Wooloos." said Milo. "Now all you have to do is defeat me and the Grass Badge is yours."
"I'm ready to rock when you are, brah." said Luna.
"This will be a two-on-two battle between the Gym Leader, Milo; and the Gym Challenger, Luna Loud. Both trainers will battle until both of a trainer's Pokemon are unable to battle. Whoever has Pokemon still conscious at the end of the battle will be the winner." said the referee. Luna and Milo walk to opposite ends of the pitch while the referee walks off to the side. Luna and Milo each pull a pokeball out of their pocket.
"Gossifleur, go!" said Milo, throwing Gossifleur's pokeball and releases it.
"Toxtricity, time to rock!" said Luna, throwing Toxtricity's pokeball and releasing him. "Toxtricity, use Acid!" Toxtricity releases a stream of purple acid from his mouth and it hits Gossifleur, dealing super effective damage to it and weakening its defense.
"Gossifleur, Round!" said Milo. Gossifleur lets out a yell and releases blue sound waves onto Toxtricity, hitting him, but it didn't do much damage to him.
"My Toxtricity has the Punk Rock ability, brah." said Luna. "Sound based moves won't do much damage to him. But this move will do a lot of damage to Gossifleur. Toxtricity, Venoshock!" Toxtricity fires a purple glob of liquid from his mouth and it hits Gossifleur, dealing super effective damage to it and knocking it out.
"Gossifleur is unable to battle. Toxtricity is the winner." said the referee.
"Yeah! Rock on, Toxtricity!" said Luna. She begins playing on her guitar while Toxtricity is jamming to the music. Lincoln, his sisters, Clyde, and Ronnie Anne, along with people in the audience were also jamming to Luna's music.
"Is this a Pokemon battle or a rock concert?" asked the announcer. Milo returns Gossifleur to its pokeball.
"You did good out there, Gossifleur." said Milo. He puts Gossifleur's pokeball away and pulls out Eldegloss' pokeball. "Go, Eldegloss!" He throws Eldegloss' pokeball and releases it. He returns Eldegloss to its pokeball and uses his Dynamax Band to make it bigger. He throws Eldegloss' pokeball and releases it, now Dynamaxed. Luna smirks and returns Toxtricity to his pokeball and enlarges it with her Dynamax Band. She throws it and releases Toxtricity, only Gigantimaxed! Everyone in the audience, except the Loud sisters, Clyde stands up and looks in shock at Toxtricity.
"Unbelivable! Luna Loud has Gigantimaxed her Toxtricity!" exclaimed the announcer. Milo could only look in awe at Toxtricity.
"Whoa! That's what Toxtricity looks like Gigantimaxed?!" asked Lincoln. "That is so awesome! I can't wait to give one of my Pokemon that Max Soup!"
"Me too." said Ronnie Anne.
"Shocked? Well how's this for shocking?! Toxtricity, let's show the crowd G-Max Stun Shock!" Toxtricity reaches behind his back and pulls out a large, pink guitar made of electricity. "Brings a new meaning to 'electric guitar', doesn't it?" Toxtricity swings his guitar and a large bolt of purple electricty comes down from above and hits Eldegloss, not doing much damage due to grass type Pokemon being resistant to electric type moves. Eldegloss becomes surrounded by electricity and it shudders.
"It looks like Eldegloss is paralyzed." said the announcer.
"Eldegloss, try using Max Strike!" said Milo. Unfortunately, paralysis stops Eldegloss from attacking.
"Let's finish this, Toxtricity! Use Max Ooze!" said Luna. A large puddle of purple slime appears beneath Toxtricity. Another one appears below Eldegloss and a massive geyser of it shoots up around Eldegloss, dealing super effective damage to it. Eldegloss' energy explodes and it returns to its original size and passes out.
"Eldegloss is unable to battle. Toxtricity wins. The winner of this gym battle is the challenger, Luna Loud!" said the referee.
"What an incredible battle. Luna's Gigantimaxed Toxtricity has easily defeated Milo's Eldegloss and earning Luna the victory!" Toxtricity returns to his regular form.
"Rock on, Toxtricity!" said Luna. She begins playing on her guitar and Toxtricity, along with the entire audience begins jamming to Luna's music. Back at Royal Woods.
"Luna won!" cheered Lynn Sr.
"I must say, her Toxtricity looks quite powerful, Gigantimaxed." said Lisa. "I must find out more about it." Back at Turffield Stadium, Milo returns Eldegloss to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Eldegloss." said Milo. He then walks over to Luna and Toxtricity. Luna stops playing when Milo approaches her, which stops everyone from jamming. "I must say, I never would have expected you to Gigantimax your Pokemon."
"I'm sure everyone in the crowd didn't see it coming either." said Luna. Milo reaches into his pocket and pulls out a Grass Badge. "For your victory here, I reward you with the Grass Badge." Luna takes the Grass Badge, along with pokedollars. She then looks at the audience. "Rock on, Turffield!" Everyone in the audience cheers. Minutes later in the lobby, everyone was congratulating Luna.
"You were incredible, Luna!" said Lincoln.
"That was, like, totes amazing!" said Leni.
"Gigantimaxing looks so awesome!" said Ronnie Anne.
"I can't wait to Gigantimax my Pokemon." said Clyde. A staff member walks to the group.
"Which of you will be taking the Gym Test next?" asked the staff member. Ronnie Anne steps forward.
"I'll go next." said Ronnie Anne.
"Very well." said the staff member. "You may head down to the test area when you're ready."
"Do your best, Ronnie Anne." said Lincoln.
"You got this, dudette." said Luna. Ronnie Anne nods and enters the test area. After the staff member explains the rules to her, she begins her gym test. She manages to herd the Wooloos through all three of the barricades before reaching the end. After the Wooloos go into their pens, she walks up the stairs to the door, making smoke shoot out from the sides of it, indicating her successful completion of the Gym Test. Back in Royal Woods, the Louds who were still there, the McBride dads, and the Santiagos were cheering for her. A minute later on the pitch, she exits a tunnel leading out onto it and walks to the center, with Milo joining her.
"Hello, young miss." said Milo. "Are you ready?"
"Whenever you are." said Ronnie Anne. A referee then walks up to them.
"This will be a two-on-two battle between the Gym Leader, Milo; and the Gym Challenger, Ronnie Anne Santiago. Both trainers will battle until both of a trainer's Pokemon are unable to battle. Whoever has Pokemon still conscious at the end of the battle will be the winner." said the referee. Ronnie Anne and Milo walk to opposite ends of the pitch while the referee walks off to the side. Ronnie Anne and Milo each pull a pokeball out of their pocket. Milo throws his, releasing his Gossifleur; and Ronnie Anne throws hers, releasing her Foongus.
"Gossifleur, use Rapid Spin!" said Milo. Gossifleur spins towards Foongus and strikes her, damaging her, along with increasing its speed. All of a sudden, Gossifleur started to look ill.
"Looks like Foongus's Effect Spore ability kicked in. Now your Gossifleur is poisoned." said Ronnie Anne. "Okay, Foongus! Use Mega Drain!" Foongus releases a green stream of energy at Gossifleur, hitting it, not doing a lot of damage to it, but her stamina gets replenished a little bit. Gossifleur suddenly takes damage from the poisoning.
"Gossifleur, use Magical Leaf!" said Milo. Gossifleur suddenly releases a barrage of glowing green leaves which hit Foongus, but barely doing any damage, due to her being a combination of grass and poison types, making her very resilient to grass type moves.
"Hang in there, Foongus!" said Ronnie Anne. "Try using Growth!" Foongus surges with energy, making her grow a bit, along with increasing her attack strengths. Gossifleur suddenly takes more damage from its poisoning.
"Gossifleur, use Round!" said Milo. Gossifleur releases soundwaves from her mouth, hitting Foongus, damaging her.
"Use Mega Drain again!" said Ronnie Anne. Foongus hits Gossifleur with another Mega Drain, doing slightly more damage than last time thanks to Growth, and healing her some more. Gossifleur was preparing to launch another attack before it freezes up, and passes out.
"Gossifleur is unable to battle. Foongus is the winner." said the referee.
"It looks like Gossifleur has succumbed to the poison." said the announcer. Ronnie Anne lets out a sigh of relief.
"Man, that was tough." said Ronnie Anne. "I really need to train my Pokemon some more." Back in Royal Woods, everyone at the Loud house was cheering for Ronnie Anne.
"Keep it up, Nie-Nie!" cheered Bobby.
"Do you think she can win?" asked Luan.
"She hasn't been training as long as the others." said Lori.
"I think she has a chance." said Bobby. Back at Turffield Stadium, Milo returns his Gossifleur to its pokeball.
"You were great, Gossifleur." said Milo. Ronnie Anne's Rotom Phone suddenly chimes. She looks at it and sees that Foongus just learned Clear Smog.
"If I remember from Lana's Trubbish; Clear Smog is a poison type attack." said Ronnie Anne. "That will really be useful right now."
"You can do it, Ronnie Anne!" cheers Lincoln from the audience.
"You, totes, got this!" shouts Leni.
"We're right behind you!" said the twins. Ronnie Anne smiles at the support she was getting from her friends. Milo takes out his last pokeball and throws it, releasing his Eldegloss. He then returns it to its pokeball, uses his Dynamax Band to enlarge it, then throws it, releasing his now Dynamaxed Eldegloss. Ronnie Anne returns her Foongus to her pokeball, then uses her Dynamax Band to enlarge it, then throws it, releasing her now Dynamaxed Foongus.
"Eldegloss! Use Max Overgrowth!" said Milo. Eldegloss launches large seeds at Foongus, hitting her, not doing a lot of damage. Grass grows up out of the ground and releases a green aura which heals Foongus a little bit.
"Wait. That grass heals my Pokemon, too?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"I guess it does." said Milo with a grin as he rubs the back of his head.
"Well, thanks for that." said Ronnie Anne. "Foongus, use Max Ooze!" Foongus releases a torrent of purple liquid from her body, which causes a tower of poison to rise up from beneath Eldegloss, hitting it, and doing super effective damage. A surge of energy rises up from Foongus, strengthening her special attack power.
"Eldegloss! Use Max Strike!" said Milo. Eldegloss erupts with energy, causing a pillar of it to rise up from beneath Foongus, damaging her, and lowering her speed.
"Foongus, hang in there!" said Ronnie Anne. The grassy terrain suddenly heals Eldegloss and Foongus.
"It looks like both Eldegloss and Foongus are barely hanging in there. The last attack could decide this battle!" said the announcer.
"Don't give up, Ronnie Anne!" says Lincoln.
"I don't plan on doing that, Linc!" said Ronnie Anne. "Foongus! Use one more Max Ooze; quickly!" Foongus manages to find the strength to release one more Max Ooze attack, hitting Eldegloss, and doing enough damage to make its energy explode, making it shrink back to its normal size, unconscious.
"Eldegloss is unable to battle. Foongus is the winner. That means the winner of the match is the Gym Challenger, Ronnie Anne Santiago!" said the referee.
"And it's over! After a grueling battle, Foongus manages to defeat Eldegloss to pick up the win for Ronnie Anne!" said the announcer. Foongus shrinks down to her original size and weakly hops over to Ronnie Anne, who runs out to pick her up in a hug.
"You were great, Foongus." said Ronnie Anne.
"Thanks." said Foongus.
"I promise after you get treated at the Pokemon Center, I will train you and make you stronger." said Ronnie Anne.
"That would be wise." said Foongus with a smile.
"Woohoo!" said Lincoln. "Way to go, Ronnie Anne!"
"You did it!" said Clyde.
"That was totes, close." said Leni.
"I'll say." said Luna. Back in Royal Woods, everyone was cheering for Ronnie Anne's victory.
"She won!" said Bobby.
"Boy, that was a close one." said Luan.
"I was literally on the edge of my seat." said Lori.
"That was intense!" said Lynn Jr.
"But at least she won." said Maria. Back at Turffield Stadium, Milo was returning his Eldegloss to its pokeball.
"You were great, Eldegloss." said Milo. He puts Eldegloss's pokeball in his pocket and walks over to Ronnie Anne. "That was quite the match, little lady."
"I'll say." said Ronnie Anne. Milo then reaches into his pocket and pulls out a Grass Badge, along with some pokedollars.
"In recognition of your skills, I present you with this Grass Badge." said Milo as she hands it, along with the pokedollars to Ronnie Anne. The audience cheers for her, making her smile in response. A few minutes later back in the lobby, the Loud siblings and Clyde were congratulating Ronnie Anne on her victory.
"That was awesome!" said Lincoln.
"You were rockin'!" said Luna.
"Thanks, everyone." said Ronnie Anne. "But that was too close."
"Are you going to train your Pokemon more when you get the chance?" asked Clyde.
"Definitely." said Ronnie Anne. A staff member walks over to them.
"So who's next?" asked the staff member.
"I am." said Clyde as he steps forward.
"Very well." said the staff member. "Whenever you're ready, head through the door to start your Gym Test." It is now Clyde's turn to attempt the Gym Test. Can he win?
