Rotom Bikes
The group hung out on Route 5 for a while, helping Sam train up her Pokemon. With the support of Lincoln's group, Toxel grew a lot stronger, and her Espurr learned Psybeam. After a while, they return to the Turffield Pokemon Center to get Sam's Pokemon treated. While they were there, they buy Sam a Rotom Phone, and explain to her how everything on it worked. Once they got Sam's Pokemon back, they decided to head straight to Hulbury. After a while of walking. they soon reach a very long stone bridge where they see some familiar people standing at one end of it.
"Hey. Isn't that Team Yell?" asked Lana.
"Yeah, what are they doing here?" asked Lola.
"Who's Team Yell?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"They're a cheer section for a trainer named Marnie." explained Lincoln.
"They look kind of rough." said Ronnie Anne.
"I don't know; they look kind of rockin." said Sam.
"That's what I thought when I first saw them." said Luna. As they look closer, they see that Team Yell was talking to a man who was dressed in doctor scrubs. Next to the doctor was a lot of bikes of various sizes and colors.
"Oi! Just hand over those bikes already!" said a Team Yell member.
"Yeah, us Team Yell need them to cross this long bridge." said another Team Yell member.
"And we're also gonna use them to chase around Gym Challengers!" said the first Team Yell member.
"Yeah, it'll be a scream!" said the second Team Yell member. The man lets out a sigh of frustration.
"You couldn't ride those bikes anyway." said the man. "None of you have Rotom Phones." Lincoln's group, sensing trouble was brewing, run over to the man.
"Hey!" said Lincoln as he and the others reach the man. "What are you Team Yell guys doing?" Team Yell, and the man, look over at Lincoln's group.
"You're that bunch of trainers that beat some of us at that hotel back in Motostoke!" said a Team Yell member. Another Team Yell member looks at Lincoln.
"And you're that kid that Marnie thinks is kind of cute." said the other Team Yell member, making Lincoln blush.
"C-C-Cute?" replied Lincoln, making his sisters squeal with glee.
"Yeah, she thinks your white hair is interesting, and she saw your gym battle with that Milo guy; you beat his Dynamaxed Eldegloss with a normal-sized Raboot." said a Team Yell member.
"You impressed Marnie a lot with that battle." said the other Team Yell member. The man that Team Yell was bothering walks over to Lincoln.
"These ruffians are trying to take my Rotom Bikes from me." explained the man. "If you kids can give them a good thrashing, I will be in your debt." Team Yell looks at each other, then back at Lincoln's group.
"Oi! We're not trying to steal the bikes; only borrow them!" said a Team Yell member.
"Yeah, we're gonna use them to chase after Gym Challengers and make 'em all tired!" said the other Team Yell member.
"Not cool, dudes." said Luna. Team Yell looks at Luna.
"You're that rockin' girl from the hotel, aren't you?" asked a Team Yell member.
"Yeah, we saw you performing at Turffield Stadium on TV." said the other Team Yell member.
"Piers saw you also, and he thinks you have a lot of talent." said the first Team Yell member.
"Who's Piers?" asked Lola, shocking Team Yell.
"You don't know who Piers is?!" asked a Team Yell member.
"We're kind of new to the Galar Region, so we don't know a lot of people here." explained Lana.
"Oh, that explains it." said the Team Yell member. "Piers is a very talented rock and roll legend here in Galar."
"Really?" replied Luna with interest.
"And not only that, he's the Spikemuth City gym leader." said the other Team Yell member.
"Is he the gym leader that didn't show up at the Gym Challenge Opening Ceremony?" asked Lincoln.
"Yeah, he doesn't do encores." said a Team Yell member.
"Yeah. That's why he didn't show up at the Gym Ceremony." said another Team Yell member.
"I see." said Lincoln. "But we're getting off topic; leave this man alone."
"If you kids are gonna be gettin in our way, then we'll give you a special shout-out!" said a Team Yell member.
"We'll crush you all in Pokemon battles!" said the other Team Yell member. Lincoln steps forward and pulls out a pokeball from his pocket.
"Luna. How about a little battle music?" asked Lincoln.
"You got it, bro!" said Luna as she pulls out her Toxtricity's pokeball and lets him out. She then pulls out her electric guitar and tapes the power cord to Toxtricity's chest. Toxtricity then starts strumming the protrusions on his chest, generating electricity which channels into Luna's guitar. Luna then starts playing another battle ballad, making Team Yell, Sam, and some passerbys, rock out to it.
"She's awesome!" said a Team Yell member.
"You know it!" said Sam. "I can't wait for my Toxel to evolve."
"Maybe next time we talk to our families, we can see if they can send your guitar here." suggested Leni.
"Yeah, then you and Luna can jam together!" said Lana.
"That would be so rockin." said Sam. Back with Lincoln and the Team Yell member he was facing, the Team Yell member threw his pokeball, releasing a Zigzagoon, and Lincoln throws his, releasing his Lucario.
"Lucario, use Power-Up Punch!" said Lincoln. Lucario's fist becomes coated in orange energy as he runs at the Team Yell member's Zigzagoon. When Lucario was close enough, he punches it across the face, sending it tumbling over to the Team Yell member where it stops at his feet, unconscious.
"Oh, come on!" said the Team Yell member. A surge of energy rises up from Lucario.
"What's up with Lucario?" asked Sam.
"Power-Up Punch increases the attack strength of the Pokemon that used it." explained Lincoln.
"What?!" replied the Team Yell member. "But it's too much as it it!"
"Don't back down! Show this kid whose boss!" said the other Team Yell member. Regaining his resolve, the Team Yell member returns his Zigzagoon to its pokeball, then pulls out another one and throws it, letting out a Thievul.
"Okay, Thievul! Use Quick Attack!" said the Team Yell member. The Thievul moves at Lucario at fast speed, and rams into him; but Lucario didn't look like he really felt the blow.
"Lucario's part steel type; normal type moves like that won't do much good against him." said Lincoln. The Team Yell member started to look a little nervous. "Lucario, use Aura Sphere!" Lucario forms a blue ball of energy in his hands, and launches it at the Thievul which hits it, causing a moderate explosion, and doing super effective damage to it. When the smoke clears, the Thievul was shown to be unconscious. The Team Yell member drops to his knees in defeat.
"You're one strong trainer, kid." said the Team Yell member. As he gets up and starts to walk away, Lola runs over and grabs his vest.
"Hey! Aren't you supposed to give Linky money after he beats you?" asked Lola. Letting out a sigh of resignation, he pulls some pokedollars out of his pocket, and hands it to Lincoln. The other Team Yell member steps forward and pulls out a pokeball.
"You won't get away with that!" said the other Team Yell member. Lola walks in front of Lincoln.
"Let's me take this stinker on, Linky." said Lola.
"Go get him, Lola." said Lincoln. Lola and the Team Yell member glare at each other. The Team Yell member throws a pokeball, releasing a purple, bipedal Pokemon that had gems for eyes and a red gem on its torso. Lola takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Sableye, the Darkness Pokemon. It feeds on gemstone crystals. In darkness, its eyes sparkle with the glitter of jewels." said Lola's Rotom Phone.
"Even if those gems are pretty, I'm still battling it!" said Lola as she pulls out a Heal Ball. "Ribombee, go!" She throws Ribombee's Heal Ball and releases her. "Okay, Ribombee, Fairy Wind!" Ribombee flaps her wings and releases a pink gust of wind frm them and they hit Sableye, dealing super effective damage to it due to fairy type moves being strong against dark type Pokemon.
"Sometimes I wish Sableye didn't have the Stall ability." said the Team Yell member.
"What's Stall?" asked Lucy from behind Lincoln, scaring him.
"It's an ability that makes the Pokemon attack last in battle." replied Lincoln.
"Sableye, Astonish!" said the Team Yell member. Sableye runs at Ribombee and makes a scary face at her, damaging her and making her flinch. "Now use Scratch!" Sableye swings its hand at Ribombee and scratches her, damaging her.
"Oh yeah?! Ribombee, Draining Kiss!" said Lola. Ribombee flies at Sableye and kisses it, dealing super effective damage to it while draining its stamina, healing some of Ribombee's wounds.
"Disable!" said Team Yell. Sableye's eyes glowed red and Ribombee becomes surrounded by a red light. "Now your Ribombee can't use Draining Kiss for a while. What are you going to do now, little girl?"
"Uh, use another move." replied Lola. "Ribombee, Pollen Puff!" Ribombee forms a purple ball of pollen between her hands, and she throws it at Sableye, hitting it, and knocking it out.
"Oh man." said the Team Yell member, putting his hands on the top of his head.
"Way to go, sis." said Lana.
"That was so radical!" said Sam. Luna and her Toxtricity finish their jam and raise up their arms and rock the goat horns.
"Thank you, Route 5!" shouts Luna, making her group, Team Yell, and the passerbys cheer for her. The Team Yell member, after remembering he just lost, sulks as he hands Lola some pokedollars, much to her delight.
"You blokes are too strong!" said the Team Yell member.
"If you all stay in the Gym Challenge, you're gonna cause problems for our lady!" said the other Team Yell member.
"You haven't seen the last of us! We're gonna make sure you stay out of our lady's way!" said the first Team Yell member.
"Though she wouldn't mind if you were close to her, kid." said the other Team Yell member as he looks at Lincoln. The man that Team Yell was bothering turns to Lincoln's group.
"My word, you're all quite the powerful trainers." said the man.
"You bet we are." said Lola as she looks at the back of her hand.
"And I noticed you have a Rotom Phone." said the man.
"We all do." said Lincoln. The man looks towards the bikes he had with him.
"Then I think I'll give these Rotom Bikes to you all as thanks." said the man, surprising the group.
"Really?" replied Lincoln.
"Yes." said the man. "These bikes were originally for another client, but he was unaware of the fact that a friend of his bought other bikes without him knowing, so he cancelled this order." Lincoln looks around and doesn't see any other vehicle.
"How did you get those bikes here?" asked Lincoln.
"I walked them all here." said the man.
"All at once? Wasn't that a little difficult?" asked Sam.
"You have no idea." said the man. "You'd be doing me a favor by taking these bikes off my hands; it'll save me the trouble of bringing these all the way back to Motostoke."
"Well, we don't want to make you go through all that trouble." said Lola. "And having bikes would make it quicker for us to get places." Everyone else nods in agreement. They all went over to the bikes, and each took one. Lincoln got an orange Rotom Bike, Clyde got a navy blue Rotom Bike, Leni got a seafoam green Rotom Bike, Luna and Ronnie Anne purple Rotom Bikes, Sam got a blue Rotom Bike, Lucy got a black Rotom Bike, Lana got a blue Rotom Bike, and Lola got a pink Rotom Bike.
"What are the odds that you'd have bikes that are in the same sizes and colors that we'd like?" asked Ronnie Anne. (a/n: It's just a fanfic based on a cartoon/video game; don't bother yourself with an unimportant detail like that.)
"Call it fate if you'd like, young lady." said the man. "Now just so you know, the Rotoms in your phones can jump into the bikes' motors and give them a major speed boost."
"We'll try them out to see what they're like." said Ronnie Anne. The man points to a button on one of the bike handles.
"To activate the turbo boost, just push that button, and it will activate." said the man.
"Thank you, sir." said Lincoln. The man then walks away, leaving the group to themselves. Everyone gets on their bikes and start pedalling around on them. Ronnie Anne looks at the button the man pointed out.
"Let's see what these bikes can REALLY do." said Ronnie Anne. She pushes the button, making a surge of electricity channel through the bike, and the next thing Ronnie Anne knew, she was zipping down the road at high speed. A few seconds later, she quickly returns to the others and stops, showing her eyes wide open with a stunned look on her face.
"Ronnie Anne? Are you okay?" asked Lincoln. She slowly turns her head to look at Lincoln.
"That...was...so...COOL!" said Ronnie Anne with excitement. Everyone decides to try out their Rotom Bikes' turbo boosts and were immediately blown away by how fast they were.
"Man, we can definitely get places faster with these bad boys!" said Lana.
"This makes Lynn's bike seem as fast as a sleeping Snorlax." said Lincoln.
"What's a Snorlax?" asked Lana.
"A Pokemon I read about back in Wedgehurst." said Lincoln. "One weighs about half a ton."
"Talk about heavy." said Lola.
"Okay, guys; let's get going." said Lincoln. Everyone cheers in response and start heading down Route 5. What other surprises awaits the group as their Galar adventure continues?
