Warnings: Swearing.

Ok, so this night has probably been the most notable out of the past couple of months for a few reasons, which I'll get into. The first reason wasn't even that big of a deal, it was just unexpected. The animatronics, they were... Happy. Every night, since my first shift, they've all been so sad, and mopey. I guess I just got used to it. It's been so long since, if at all they had shown any emotion but the bad ones. But tonight... They were different.
I'm not sure if something happened during the day or what, but they all seemed extra energetic, and cheery. Perhaps some programming magic, but I really don't think so. We are all notified when maintenance is being done on the bots so we aren't caught off guard by any strange behaviour. But I haven't heard a word from anyone in the past few days.
Out of all the animatronics it's Roxanne who seems to be the most happy. I walked past her room a bunch of times on my usual patrol path, never heard a single sob. I checked in on her room's camera feed a few times and with all of them she was lying on her couch, hugging a pillow, completely silent whilst smiling. I was, and still am unsure as to why she's happy. If I had to guess though, she's got the hots for someone most likely. Maybe that one night guard came back during the day, no clue. Regardless, it's good to see her not completely dead inside, even though circuits and wires aren't exactly alive. Though when you've got machines like these, the line gets blurry.
The other animatronics seem happier too, instead of the usual groan Freddy gives me each night, he sounded enthusiastic. Real change of pace. Instead of the usually neutral facial expression, there was a smile. It was a refreshing look, blue never looked good on the bear, or any of them for that matter. I never confronted any of them about it, I was more just a bit bewildered and didn't bring it up, for whatever reason. I probably should've, but hindsight is a beautiful thing.
The animatronic who had changed the least was Monty. looking back over the months, and my notes on the crew, I noticed that ever so slightly, Monty was gradually becoming friendlier and more tolerant of people and his other band members. Overnight clean up crews always reported that they felt as though he was watching them, with a violent intent. There hasn't been a report like that for a long time now. It seems he's also just genuinely gotten happier. Good for him I guess.
The least notable of 'em all was Chica. Still a change like all the others, just less drastic. One thing I did notice was that she was eating a lot less garbage. Think I caught her only twice, and one of them was on cameras. That's pretty decent compared to yesterday where I caught her five times. I guess it's good she's doing something about her bad habit though, catching her is never a good look, for either of us.
Tonight was very sudden for their change in behaviour, instead of the slope that they were all exhibiting previously, especially Monty. Like a cliff edge with a sudden drop. Or maybe like a verticale mountain... But perhaps the past hours were the beginning of something good for the guys 'n' gals, hopefully the trend continues and I get to see them all at their hundred instead of ten. It's a lot nicer being around them when they're happy, that's an indesputable, cold, hard fact. A nice little change in pace.
Another thing, and maybe the more important of the two, I found a really weird disk. Monty lost his bass again, big shocker, and whilst looking for it I found it. Unfortunately I don't know the whereabouts of a CD player and don't own one so I can't indulge in the classical jazz that I'm sure is on here. Sarcasm at it's finest. Thing was shady as hell, point blank.
Monty usually loses his bass in the spots you'd expect, like gator golf, random charge stations, sometimes parts and service, hell, even on the stage where all the guests can see it somtimes, or so I've been told. But he's never lost it in his room. Although never before has he lost it in the sewers. Yeah, the sewers. I just... How? I'm face palming as I write this. How does one, A) lose an instrument that is literally your job so consistently, and B) lose it in the sewers. Again. No words. The robot never goes into the sewers, like at all, and if he did you'd think he'd be dirty and muddy and gross, which he never is. I suspect something fishy is going on here, but that's a mystery for another day.
Point is, I found it whilst looking around in the sewers, but I also found the aforementioned shady disk, on a small table, surrounded by a bunch of fairy lights that were turned on, as well as lit candles, a mirror, and a bunch of different flowers. That is creepy on a whole new level. Aside from being just plain ritualistic shit, the candles were lit, meaning someone was down there recently, with me. I know I'm equipt with a taser and all, but using it is the last thing I want to do. Especially when I'm crawling around in it's domain. Whatever the thing is... (probably just a regular homeless guy or something, but rumours exist for a reason) It can have the downstairs, I'll have the upstairs, and I prefer if we never meet, thanks.
There were also a bunch of generators down there, like loads. Perhaps the generators generate generators, best case scenario, because with the amount down there the thing could easily last a couple more years in terms of electricity. But this is also just my rowdy brain, trying to scare me. It's unfortunately working. Back to the disk though, I think I'll talk around tomorrow during the day, see if anyone knows anything about it, or even if they have anything that can play it. Given it's discovery location and surprisingly clean condition, it's definitely cursed, and I shouldn't play it. I've made it my mission to play it. I haven't mentioned it to the animatronics yet, but maybe they know a place where I can use it, however low that chance is. Again, probably ask tomorrow.
That's it for tonight, I'll update soon though. Hopefully.
The Next Night
Situated in his cozy room, more specifically his couch, the bear laid on his stomach with a slumber soon approaching. Everything began to fade as the star was overcome by the sweet release of sleep. After such a long, hard day of performing for countless people, he surely deserved it.
With all that being said, the door opened and woke him up. Freddy jolted up urgently yet somehow lazily, and met with the dark silhouette in the door frame, whom was coming into view. He blinked a few times to get his bearings.
"Hi Freddy, quick question for you..." The figure, whomst was Emma, spoke with a loud voice.
Grumbling and frustrated from the interruption, Freddy saw no need to reply hastily or politely, very much unlike himself. "What..." He said quietly after groaning. His movements were sluggish.
"Ok, this'll seen odd and out of the blue... but does this place have any CD players by chance..."
Freddy suddenly found himself intrigued, and curious to why the night guard would need the whereabouts to a CD player.
"Uhh... No I do not know the location of one... Why, may I ask?"
"Found this in the sewers." She took a disk out of her uniform pocket and held it to the light in front of Freddy.
Freddy looked at it for a moment. "You found that... In the sewers...?"
"Yup."
The bear was just as confused as Emma was when she first found it. All of a sudden, he couldn't care less.
"Ok." Freddy bluntly replied as he rolled back over in his couch in the vein attempt to go back to sleep. Emma took the hint that she had overstayed her welcome and left in search of someone or something that could be of use to her, the day staff had not helped.
Coming up to Roxy's room, the original wolf was back. muffled through the walls, 'you're the best', and 'everyone loves you' could be heard, and were heard by Emma who was preparing to knock.
Seconds later, the wolf walked up to the door and opened it, then invited her guest inside. Taking a seat on Roxy's comfy couch, Emma began talking to her and asking the same question she asked Freddy. She was expecting the same response, but hey, a chance was a chance.
"A CD player? Umm... No I don't..." Uggh... of course. Why did I waste my time. "But I know someone who does." Never mind. Interest piqued, Emma looked at the wolf in surprise and excitement. "You do?"
"Yeah. It's the old night guard. I remember one quiet night, he told me he found a small, odd room with one in it. I don't know where it is, but he does." She replied, she began smiling, thinking of him.
"Well... Where can I find 'him'?"
"Oh right, his name is Cooper. Next Friday he'll come in. I hope."
"Oh, him. But he got fired... I can't let him in past closing, well not keep him in anyways."
"He bent the rules, you should try doing it too. Life's boring straight."
"Look where that got him. "
"Hey, do want to listen to that CD or not? And for the record I'm sure he and Gregory are living a great life, as jealous as I am." Roxanne whispered the last part.
Emma was now left with a choice.
Apologies for the eons that have gone by with no word from me. I haven't forgotten about either of my stories, just been really unmotivated to continue for whatever reason. Perhaps the new hobbies and increasing workload from school, and work in general. maybe a combination. Atar's a bitch. Hopefully I'll overcome this and push more stories out, but no promises on them coming soon.
UPDATE: Ruin is here... And it's soooo good... Ideas a brewin.
