Hulbury Gym Battles (Part Two)
Lola enters the Gym Test area where the staff member tells her what she has to do. Once that was done, Lola went right to it, and finished easily enough. After she reaches the gate and passes her Gym Test, she went through it to the stadium's battle area.
Back in Royal Woods, the Louds that were still there, the McBride dads, the Santiagos, and Simon Sharp watched Lola complete her Gym Test.
"This is so exciting." said Rita.
"This is a good way for the kids to spend time off their devices." said Howard McBride.
"Yes, kids spend way too much time on them and should get exercise now and then." said Harold McBride.
"They look like they're having fun." said Luan. Everyone nods in agreement.
Back at Hulbury Stadium, Lola exits the tunnel and enters the battle arena where the entire stadium audience cheers for her, prompting Lola to wave and smile at the crowd.
"You can do it, Lola!" shouts Lincoln.
"We're right here for you, little sis!" shouts Luna. Everyone else in the group shouts their support for Lola, making her look at them and nods. She and Nessa soon reach the center and look at each other.
"I'm amazed that someone as young as you and your siblings are so talented as trainers." said Nessa.
"What can I say?" replied Lola. "I'm perfect in every way." Lana does an eyeroll at the proclamation.
"We'll see about that." said Nessa with a smirk. She and Lola go to opposite sides of the arena, then a referee steps to the center of it.
"This is a three-on-three battle between the Gym Leader, Nessa; and the Gym Challenger, Lola Loud." said the referee. "Each trainer will use three Pokemon during this match; the first trainer to defeat all three of their opponent's Pokemon will be the winner. Let the match begin." The referee steps off to the side while Lola and Nessa each take out a pokeball.
"Okay, Cherrim; time to take the spotlight!" says Lola as she throws her Cherrim's Heal Ball, releasing her from it; while Nessa throws hers, releasing her Goldeen. "Cherrim, use Sunny Day!" Cherrim shoots a ball of light out of the top of her up into the sky; the sunlight suddenly intensifies, and Cherrim changes into her Sunshine Form.
"Not bad." said Nessa. "Not only does your Sunny Day move transform your Cherrim, but it also weakens my Pokemon's water attacks. Now Goldeen, use Horn Attack!" Nessa's Goldeen swims through the air and jabs Cherrim with its horn.
"Oh yeah?" replied Lola. "Cherrim, use Leech Seed!" Cherrim launches a large seed out of her mouth, which hits the Goldeen, then sprouts out vines that tangles around its body. Suddenly, energy was drained from Goldeen and was transferred to Cherrim, healing her a bit.
"Goldeen, try using Horn Attack again!" said Nessa. Goldeen floats towards Cherrim again to try hitting her with another Horn Attack, but Lola was ready this time.
"Cherrim, dodge and use Leafage!" said Lola. Cherrim twirls out of the way, narrowly avoiding Goldeen, then releases a bunch of glowing leaves from her body, hitting Goldeen, doing super effective damage and more, thanks to her Rose Incense. Goldeen struggles to get up, only for the Leech Seed vines to sap out the last of her stamina, knocking her out, and healing Cherrim some more.
"Goldeen is unable to battle. Cherrim is the winner." said the referee.
"Oh, Cherrim; you're so graceful." said Lola.
"Why, thank you, Lola." said Cherrim as she bows.
"Lola's Cherrim has defeated Nessa's Goldeen!" said the announcer. In the audience and back in Royal Woods, Lola's friends and family were cheering her on.
"You did it, Lola!" said Clyde.
"That was, totes, amazing!" said Leni.
"That's my girl!" says Lynn Sr. back in Royal Woods.
"Keep it up, Lola!" says Lynn Jr. Back at the arena floor, Nessa was returning her Goldeen to its pokeball.
"Now Nessa's down to two Pokemon." said the announcer. "Will she be able to turn this match around?"
"You did your best, Goldeen." said Nessa. She puts Goldeen's pokeball away and pulls out another one from her belt. She throws it, releasing her Arrokuda.
"And Nessa has brought out her Arrokuda." said the announcer. "Can it defeat Lola's Cherrim?"
"Arrokuda, use Fury Attack!" Arrokuda quickly moves at Cherrim and jabs her repeatedly with its beak.
"Cherrim, use Magical Leaf!" said Lola. Cherrim releases a barrage of multicolored leaves from her body, which hit Arrokuda, doing super effective damage to it, plus knocking it out.
"Unbelievable! Lola's Cherrim takes out Nessa's Arrokuda in one hit!" said the announcer. "That is one strong grass type!"
"Strong AND beautiful; just like me." said Lola as she whips her hair to the side. Everyone cheers for her.
"Just one more to go, Lola!" shouts Lincoln.
"You can do this, dudette!" shouts Sam. Everyone back at the Loud House were also cheering her on.
"I like Lola's Cherrim; it's so cute!" said Rita.
"If it could spray water from her mouth, she can be a larger squirting flower for myself." said Luan.
"Don't even think about it, young lady." said Lynn Sr. Back at Hulbury Stadium, Nessa was returning her Arrokuda to its pokeball.
"Rest up, Arrokuda." said Nessa. She then puts Arrokuda's pokeball back onto her belt and pulls out her last one.
"Now Nessa's down to her last Pokemon." said the announcer. "Can she pull off a miracle and beat Lola's Cherrim."
Nessa then throws her pokeball, releasing her Drednaw, and then returns it to its pokeball; she then uses her Dynamax Band to enlarge it, then throws it, releasing Drednaw again; but this time, it's Dynamaxed.
Lola responds by returning her Cherrim to her Heal Ball, then uses her Dynamax Band to do what Nessa did to her Drednaw. She throws her now enlarged Heal Ball, releasing her Dynamaxed Cherrim.
"Another battle between Dynamaxed Pokemon! Who will emerge victorious?" asked the announcer.
"You did well so far, Lola." said Nessa. "But playtime's over. Drednaw, use Max Geyser!" Drednaw releases a large rushing geyser of water from its mouth, hitting Cherrim, but not doing a lot, thanks to grass type Pokemon being resistant to water, plus the intense sunlight weakening water attacks.
"My Sunny Day's sunlight weakened your Drednaw's water attacks!" says Lola.
"Not for long." said Nessa, confusing Lola. Suddenly, rain clouds appear, blocking out the sun, causing Cherrim to return to her Overcast Form.
"What happened?" asked Lola.
"May Geyser also causes it to rain." said Nessa.
"And Nessa's strategy has caused Cherrim to return to her Overcast Form." said the announcer. "What will Lola do now?"
"I'll show you what I'll do!" Lola shouts to the announcer, making him flinch. "Cherrim, use Max Overgrowth!" Cherrim releases several large seeds from her body around Drednaw, causing large green mushrooms to sprout out and release green energy which does lots of super effective damage to Drednaw, thanks to it being a combination of two kinds of Pokemon that are vulnerable to grass type moves, and Cherrim's Rose Incense. Drednaw's energy explodes, and it returns to its normal size, unconscious.
"Drednaw is unable to battle! Cherrim is the winner! That means the winner of the match is the Gym Challenger, Lola Loud!" says the referee. The audience roars with applause.
"She did it! Lola Loud has defeated all three of Nessa's Pokemon with just one of hers! How strong are the Loud kids?!" asked the announcer.
"You'll just have to wait and see." says Lola as her Cherrim returns to normal size.
"You did it, Lola!" shouts Lincoln.
"You were great." said Lucy.
"Woohoo!" cheers Lana. Back in Royal Woods, everyone was cheering for Lola.
"She won!" shouts Lynn Sr. Lily giggles and claps.
"I knew she could do it!" says Rita.
"That was spectacular." said Harold McBride.
"This excitement is making my heart race." said Howard McBride as he sits on the couch. Back at Hulbury Stadium, Nessa returns her Drednaw to its pokeball.
"You fought bravely, Drednaw." said Nessa. She puts Drednaw's pokeball back onto her belt, then walks over to Lola, who was hugging her Cherrim. Lola looks up at Nessa, who had a Water Badge, and some pokedollars, in her hands. "You battled well, Lola. You have earned this Water Badge.
"Thank you." said Lola as she accepts the Water Badge and pokedollars. Five minutes later in the stadium lobby, Lola's siblings and friends were congratulating her.
"You were great, dudette." said Luna.
"I know." said Lola as she took in the praise from everyone. A staff member walks over to the group.
"So, which of you is up next?" asked the staff member. Luna steps forward.
"I will." said Luna.
"Very well." said the staff member. Luna walks past the staff member and entered the area where the Gym Test is taking place while the others went to the audience.
Inside the test area, the staff member tells Luna what she has to do. Soon, Luna makes her way through it and reaches the gate, completing the gym test. After that, she walks through the gate and into the battle stadium. Everyone in Royal Woods watches on TV while Lincoln and the rest of the group watches from the audience. Soon, Luna and Nessa were facing each other. The refereee walks over to the center.
"This is a three-on-three battle between the Gym Leader, Nessa; and the Gym Challener, Luna Loud." said the referee. "Each trainer will use three Pokemon during this match; the first trainer to defeat all three of their opponent's Pokemon will be the winner. Let the match begin." The referee steps off to the side while Luna and Nessa each take out a pokeball.
"Go, Goldeen!" said Nessa, tossing Goldeen's pokeball and releases it.
"Toxtricity, let's rock!" said Luna, tossing Toxtricity's pokeball and releasing him.
"Okay. Now Luna's Toxtricitity has been the talk of the Galar Region due to it being able to Gigantimax!" said the announcer. "Will we be able to see it here, too?"
"Goldeen, Horn Attack!" said Nessa. Goldeen flies at Toxtricity and jabs him with its horn, making him take a step back.
"Toxtricity, Spark!" said Luna. Toxtricity becomes surrounded by electricity, and he rams into Goldeen, hitting it and dealing super effective damage to it. Goldeen becomes surrounded by electricity, and it begins twitching.
"Oh, and it looks like Goldeen's paralyzed!" said the referee.
"Goldeen, try using Water Pulse!" said Nessa. Unfortunately, paralysis stops Goldeen from attacking.
"Toxtricity, Flail!" said Luna. Toxtricity runs at Goldeen and repeatedly hits it with his tail, knocking it out.
"Goldeen is unable to battle! Toxtricity wins the match!" said the referee.
"Rock on, Toxtricity!" said Luna. Toxtricity raises his fists. Back in Royal Woods.
"Way to go, Luna!" said Lynn Jr.
"You go!" said Luan.
"That's our girl!" said Lynn Sr. Back in Hulbury stadium, Nessa returns Goldeen to its pokeball.
"You did well, Goldeen." said Nessa. She puts Goldeen's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Arrokuda, go!" She tosses Arrokuda's pokeball and releases it. "Aqua Jet!" Arrokuda becomes surrounded by water, and it flies at Toxtricity, ramming him, and knocking him back.
"Shock Wave!" said Luna. Toxtricity becomes surrounded by yellow electricity and releases a beam of it from his body and it hits Arrokuda, dealing super effective damage and knocking it out.
"Arrokuda is unable to battle. Toxtricity wins the match!" said the referee.
"Unbelievable! Toxtricity has defeated Arrokuda in one move!" said the announcer. Everyone in Royal Woods is cheering, as well as Lincoln and the group in the audience. Nessa returns Arrokuda to its pokeball.
"You rest now, Arrokuda." said Nessa. She puts Arrokuda's pokeball away and looks at Luna while pulling out another pokeball. "Your Toxtricity is strong, Luna, but let's see how it stands up to Drednaw." She tosses Drednaw's pokeball and releases it. She then returns Drednaw to its pokeball and uses her Dynamax Band to enlarge it, she then tosses Drednaw's pokeball and releases it again, but this time, Dynamaxed.
Luna returns Toxtricity to his pokeball and enlarges it with her Dynamax Band. She tosses Toxtricity's pokeball and releases it, now Gigantimaxed! Everyone in the audience stands up and watches in awe.
"And Luna's Gigantimaxed Toxtricity makes another appearance!" said the announcer. "How will Nessa deal with it?!"
"Toxtricity, G-Max Stun Shock!" said Luna. Toxtricity takes out his pink electrical guitar and swings it, releasing a purple bolt of electricity from above and it hits Drednaw, dealing super effective damage. It turns purple under Drednaw's eyes.
"Oh, and it looks like Drednaw's been poisoned!" said the announcer.
"I thought that move can sometimes cause a Pokemon it hits to become paralyzed." said Ronnie Anne.
"Actually, I looked up the move." said Lincoln. "It can cause the Pokemon hit by the move to become paralyzed or poisoned." Back at the arena floor.
"Drednaw, Max Darkness!" said Nessa. Drednaw releases two streams of black energy from its body, and they hit Toxtricity, hitting him, and weakening his special defense. Drednaw begins coughing from its poisoning and it returns to its normal form and collapses.
"And it looks like Drednaw's poisoning has taken its toll." said the announcer.
"Drednaw is unable to battle! Toxtricity wins! The winner of this gym battle is the challenger, Luan Loud!" said the referee.
"She's done it! Luna's Gigantimaxed Toxtricity has taken out Nessa's Dynamaxed Drednaw in one move to win the match!" said the announcer.
"Rock on!" said Luna. She takes out her guitar and begins jamming on it while Toxtricity returns to his regular form and does some air guitaring. Back in Royal Woods.
"Luan won!" said Lori.
"She sure did!" said Howard McBride.
"That was incredible." said Harold McBride. Back at Hulbury Stadium, Lincoln and the rest of the group were cheering.
"Yeah, Luna!" said Lincoln.
"Way to go, Lunes!" said Sam.
"That was awesome!" said Clyde. Nessa returns Drednaw to its pokeball.
"You did well, Drednaw." said Nessa. She puts Drednaw's pokeball away and walks to Luna, which causes her to stop playing her guitar. "Your Toxtricity is amazing."
"Thanks, Ness." said Luna. Nessa pulls a Water Badge out of her pocket.
"As proof of your victory here, I present you with the Water Badge." said Nessa.
"Rockin'." said Luna as she takes the badge, along with pokedollars. She puts them in her pocket and continues playing her guitar. Later at the Hulbury Stadium lobby, Luna's friends and family were congratulating her on her victory.
"Way to go, Lunes." said Sam before kissing Luna on the cheek, making her blush.
"Your Toxtricity is tough!" said Clyde.
"Yeah!" says Lana. A staff member soon walks up to them.
"So, which of you is going next?" asked the staff member. Leni steps forward.
"I am, totes, ready for this." said Leni.
"Very well." said the staff member. "Go through that door whenever you're ready."
"Hey, Leni." said Lincoln. "What Pokemon are you going to use?"
"You said grass types are good against water; so, I'll, totes, use Tsareena." said Leni.
"Did she learn any new moves after evolving?" asked Lincoln. Realizing she forgot to check on that, she looks at Tsareena's informations.
"This says she learned Trop Kick, and Power Whip." said Leni.
"Maybe you can try those moves out when you battle Tsareena?" suggested Lana.
"Ooh, good idea." said Leni. She then changes into her uniform and walks through the doors. Will Leni pass her Gym Test, and defeat Nessa to earn her second gym badge?
