It was on Dawn Island where a young Portgas D. Ace was wandering around the shoreline. He was not sure why he had come here from where he normally would spend his time but he wanted to clear his head a bit with everything that was going on recently. After he had once again nearly beaten someone to death after getting pissed off about hearing his father's name come up.

How Ace was aware of who his father was happened to be a curious thing. To him, he had never met either of his parents as his father died before he was even born. His mother according to what he was told died because she somehow forced him to stay inside herself for an extra fifteen months. He did not bother thinking about how or why that was even possible. As far as he was aware both his parents were just normal people in the sense that they did not have any devil fruit powers nor were they any kind of unique human either. All he knew was that he was alone because his mother decided to basically kill herself doing what she did. She was lucky no one around wondered why a woman like herself was pregnant for an extra fifteen months thus linking his original birth back when he should have been born.

As he was beating the latest person that pissed him off that was the thought that ran through his head as he might not be able to stay with his father, Gol. D Roger for all the things he heard about him. The few things he knew about his mother, Portgas D. Rouge, were at times, what stayed in his hands. Preventing him from going all of the way and actually killing someone.

His mother's death gave him this chance at life and though he is unsure of a lot of things about himself and even his father. The fact that his mother gave him this chance at least was one of the few things that kept him going. Rather than just ending it all to go to the afterlife just to spite his dad he would probably have to deal with confronting his mom as well.

The confusion led him to the shoreline, where he saw something interesting. There bitting into some of the wildlife that wandered down here as well was a girl. One that tried to wrestle it down to the ground with just mouth alone rather than hands, her arms just ended in stumps. She clearly was not human either as if he had to guess she was probably a mink tribe member. He had heard about the other races that existed in the world though never really interacted with any of them just yet. Everyone on Dawn Island was seemingly human at least to his knowledge.

The girl managed to wrestle the creature down to the ground with just her mouth and legs. The only thing she used her arms for was to swing at them like they were whips almost. That look in her eyes though shows that something happened to leave her in this state where her mind had regressed into a more feral state. Though Ace was about to leave when she spotted him and then the two of them locked eyes with each other.

Ace was not sure just what had happened to this girl but clearly, she had been through some things given that her hands had not recently gotten removed as it seemed like the wounds left behind had healed over and she was not seemingly in pain over the loss of them.

Just then what looked like the tatter remains of a book fell from the rags that her clothes had become and hit the sand below her. Her eyes seemed to go straight to the book which then caused something to click in her head seemingly as that when that feral look in her eyes went away. Returning to one you would expected someone who was seemingly raised out in the wild would have.

"Ace!" A voice was loudly calling out for him

However, it saw a chill down his spine because it was not anyone that would be connected to the person he nearly beat to death early. No, he could care less about them as they were alive as he did not cost that line and stopped before causing any lasting damage at least on their body that is.

"Ace!" the voice called out for him again.

This was the voice of Curly Dadan who was raising him and probably the closest thing he had to a mother. She was a better parental figure than the guy who dumped him on her in the first place. Seriously why would the very person who was said to be his own dad's greatest rival be looking after him in the first place? What was Monkey D. Garp thinking? Did it have something to do with the fact that they all had a D. in their name or something?

"Ace?" the seemingly mink tribe girl said as looked at him and then the book she had dropped.

Not wanting to deal with Dadan at the moment he grabbed the book and the mink girl before running off.

"That Sabo is the story that led up to how me and Yamato first met each other" Ace said as he was explaining that to his second friend that he had made recently.

"Say Ace, Did Yamato tell you that it was alright for me to know everything you said just now" Sabo asked him

"Pretty much no but then why would you..." Ace said as he then noticed it was getting cold all of a sudden

"Ace. I know you did not seemingly have any friends before me and Sabo. Yet I told you never to tell anyone about that as I was in my right mind fully when we met for the first time. The doctor told us that maybe the trauma suffered caused my body to react like that. I did not want others to know that part of my past...the past I know about at least" Yamato said as she was smiling but it the clear she was not happy.

"Run," Sabo said

Ace then bolted like a bat out of hell as Yamato ran after him

Sabo made the motion of zipping his lips as she ran by him. He was not trying to have a pissed off Yamato after him if he could help it.
