Inside the Dressrosa's Corrida Colosseum, Yamato and Luffy ran into each other for the first time since Marineford.
Rather than having a happy reunion after managing to make out of the War of the Best alive and not captured by all the Marines that were there.
The two of them were clashing over something as they were both trying to hide who they really were.
Though Yamato's disguise was mostly just her being in her human form and not using any of her ice or lighting based related abilities even put extra effort into making seem like her hands were normal ones in combat. Instead taking advantage of the fact that she creates her hands using her ice based ability.
"I am taking the Fire Fruit and no one will stop me not even you Luffy," Yamato told.
"No I am taking it as that fruit is one I must get" Luffy informed her
He did not come to Dressorosa for that reason but once he managed to see an image of what was holding the Fire Fruit after getting here. Something with him demanded he acquires it.
Yamato and Luffy then began staring contest at each other as neither was going to give up on this issue
"Hey what do you think you doing coming between Straw Hat and Oden Pirate captains," Bartolomeo said as the two of them noticed someone coming towards them.
"I am not the cap..." Yamato started to say before she stared at the person in shock they coming from Luffy thus she saw them first.
"Why did you..." Luffy then said turning around only to be shocked as well at who was standing there before them both.
"She right as between the three of us. One of us must acquire the Fire Fruit at all costs" they said
Both Yamato and Luffy were shocked at the voice as they see them joining in on the talk.
"SABO!" both of them yelled at the person in question
Both start crying thinking that Sabo had been dead all this time. They have a short reunion hug before things get more serious.
"You can tell that we must get the Fire Fruit right," Sabo said to Yamato
"Of course as that fruit is my captain's after all," she replied as if that was the most obvious thing in the world.
"You are the captain of the Oden Pirates though," Luffy told
"No, I am the vice captain of my captain's crew. I will not accept anyone telling me otherwise even you Luffy" Yamato said narrowing her eyes at him
Their old once thought to be dead friend sees why they started fighting
"I think I know what going on as we are missing vital memories but Yamato seems to have retained brief knowledge of them," Sabo said
"Does Doflamingo have someone that makes people vanish as this" Yamato inquired
She was in this country because she learned he had the Fire Fruit that belong to her captain.
"He probably does have someone that can make people vanish. Part of the reason I came here was to put stop to the weapons trade of the Doflamingo family. However, I also noticed that there is a lot of strange happening around here. Trails that stop cold whenever the Doflamingo family is involved somehow"
"Huh?"
"What?"
Both Yamato and Luffy seemed confused by this.
"Then let me ask you two this then. Why did you two go to Marineford for? Why break into Impel Down as well" Sabo asked them.
"Why did I do those things," Luffy asked confused.
"For my captain," Yamato said without thinking about it
"It seems that whatever Doflamingo has it only affects everyone's memories not anything to reality itself. Thus the past remains the same just without the person in question" Sabo told them
He would find things, articles, and pictures of people that should not exist but for some reason do. It seems that someone backing Doflamingo is aware of an effect of whatever power he is using that the guy himself does not know. Since he is a warlord that has a connection to Kaido it is probably both the World Goverment and Kaido too.
They seem to be covering that blind spot his power creates that he is not dealing with himself. He must know what it does but seems to be overlooking certain things about it though.
"So you know who my captain is. Then don't stop me from getting his fruit" Yamato told him
"But how do you know if any of this is real or just in your head," Bartolomeo said
"Seem that the combo total memory loss and strong enough Haki might allow you to notice something is off if you are close enough to the person that vanished. Both I and Yamato have this combo thus we can tell something is off. What and why I am not sure but just like Yamato I will not let anyone not one of us three get Fire Fruit" Sabo said.
"Leave this to us Luffy as I will get the Devil Fruit for my captain," Yamato said.
"For me, this helps me kill two birds with one stone as her captain would want me to help her after all" Sabo told him.
"They are here with you as well right," Yamato asked before Luffy could run off leaving this matter to them.
"Of course why would not they be here," Luffy said.
Bartolomeo then looked confused but realized what the two of them were talking about. There was a certain rumor going around about how there was an extra member of the Straw Hats that travel with them but was not their pet.
"Bet they are going to be as shocked as we were to learn Sabo is still alive, huh," Yamato said.
"Of course though they might not admit it as you know how they can be at times," Luffy told him.
'Are these two serious as this can not be Bartolomeo thought thinking they could not be talking about who he was thinking they were talking about
