After a few hours, Erza groaned as she felt the wintry breeze against her cream-white skin, disturbing her peaceful slumber. Is it night already? She asked herself as she blinked twice, trying to recollect her memories. Shit. She cursed to herself as her eyes meet the ivory ceilings again. So, it wasn't a dream after all? Questions started to plagued her as she kept her head straight, attempting to lean on her back but soon paused, seeing her hand on Jellal's soft ones. Her lips twitched as she felt her heart ached with pain and guilt. Were these feelings mine or hers? She asked herself, bewildered with her feelings. Why would a lonely soul like you suffer that much? She thought as she started to untangle his loosened grip on hers. She clasped her hands once more before succumbing to the force pulling her towards his innocent façade.

"Jellal," she called as she caressed his cheek.

"Erza?" he mumbled as he rubbed his cheeks, feeling more of her warmth.

Suddenly knocked with realization, she pulled her hand and became visibly embarrassed with her cheeks heating up. After mumbling an apology for waking him up, he smiled as he reassured her that it's fine. He moved closer to her making her heart stop. He calmly brought his hands on hers and asked.

"Does it hurt somewhere? Should I call the physician again?" he questioned with a voice full of concern.

"No need," she sternly replied as she lowered her gaze towards his trembling hands.

"Don't you really remember anything, Erza?"

"I don't. Can you tell me what happened, Jellal? And how long was I'm out?" she asked, clutching his hands in desperation as she tried to meet his gaze.

"You were out for a week and a half. It w-was all my fault-"

"Shh, relax. I can handle it. Please, tell me the truth." She said as she moved closer to him.

Hearing her reassurance, he heaved a deep sigh and told her about their wedding night's tragedy.

"Someone broke in your room attempted to assassinate you. You fell off the balcony a-and, after that" he paused as he shivered in fear.

Were you that afraid of losing her? She asked herself, witnessing the blue-haired boy fumbled his hands together, trying to remember those traumatic events. So, her death was similar to mine. Was that the reason why I suddenly transmigrate to her body? She continued to wonder and unconsciously brought her hands around his shoulders, comforting her husband.

"That's enough," she said as he tried to repress his sobs by rubbing his back.

"B-but, I almost lost you," he stuttered.

"I'm still here."

"Don't ever die on me, Erza."

"I won't," she lied, knowing how the future would unfold.

Now fully determined, she loosened her arms on his shoulders and held his hand. "This is my second life so I can't let myself die miserably again." She said and beamed, earning him a lighthearted chuckle. Gently wiping the tears from his eyes, he smiled and tugged the quilt to her slightly trembling shoulders.

"You're cold," he said and ventured towards the nightstand.

After opening the first drawer, he then replaced the burnout candles with a new one. Erza slightly shivered as the breeze grazed her skin. As she busily covered herself with the blanket, her face turned pale, noticing the same scarlet strands cascading through her waist. What? She also has the same hair as I do? She asked, then hastily looked towards her husband, who's busy closing the curtains.

"Jellal!" she thoughtlessly called out his name.

"Erza, what's wrong?" he asked as he ran to her side.

"I-I wanted to see a mirror."

He titled his head in confusion. The fall must've been hard. He thought to himself as his face turned sullen. After a few seconds, he blinked and spared no thoughts to himself, noticing Erza's perplexed face.

"I'm sorry. I don't keep a mirror in my room, Erza. I'll ask the maid to get it for you." he said before leaving her.

Erza swallowed her anticipation as he receded from her view. After a couple of minutes, she had by herself; she looked around, observing the room again. Something caught her eyes under the dim light, and that was the dried purple hyacinths in the nightstand.

"Purple hyacinths?" she asked herself.

"You asked for them before that incident, so I think these flowers may mean a lot to you. I decided to recover it from your room and placed it here, but they die too soon,"

"Ah, don't worry, Jellal. I've been out for quite long, too," she said as she placed the hyacinths back to the vase.

Those flowers, purple hyacinths, were his favorite flowers, according to the novel. But to think that those were the flowers that she asked him before she died. How clumsy would the author be? How can you hurt him this much? She asked as she closed her eyes.

"You said they were your favorites, so while you're out, I had asked the gardeners to plant some for you to see after you recuperate,"

"Oh, Jellal." She said, almost tearing up. So, in the end, even your favorites were originally hers. How can a villain like you be this sweet?

"Don't you like it?" he asked as he sat beside her.

"No, it's just you're so sweet," she said, pinching his cheeks causing him to blush.

"Wha-what are you doing?" he stammered as he felt his cheeks burning up.

How cute. She thought to herself as she watched him back off while covering his burning face. Not long after, they heard the butler's voice asking for their permission to enter. After asking them in, a blonde-haired boy greeted Jellal then Erza. Several maids placed the meal and mirror before leaving them all alone again. Piqued by her curiosity, Erza asked Jellal about the young boy, and he seemed slightly pissed about the thought of her getting interested in someone.

"You mean, Cedric?"

"Cedric?" she furrowed her brows, unable to remember his name from the original novel.

"He was the youngest son of the esteemed Marquis of Hexion. He might appear to be a year older than I do, but he's five years older. He's a talented mage for his years and had already graduated from the magic academy last month."

"Oh?" her eyes beamed, hearing his words, but later turned serious as she realized. If he's Jellal's butler, then he might've been mentioned in the original novel, given the number of achievements he had. But never did I hear about Hexion in the original story. It was noted that this castle was empty after her death. No one stayed beside him other than his late wife's corpse. Did he betray him too?

"Then why does he look young and hot?" She asked.

"WHA-WHAT?" he yelled. "Are you perhaps interested in him?" he continued.

"AH! NO, Jellal, it's not like what you're thinking!"

"How can my wife think of another man under my presence?" he exclaimed with tears in his eyes.

"I mean, is it magic? Is he that powerful that he can keep his youth? N-NOT THE OTHER WAY!"

The first thing Jellal felt after hearing her words was a mixture of shame and comfort; he sighed, allowing the awkward silence to flood between them before covering his face. Somehow surprised, he bit his lip as this was the first time her words made him uneasy. What would happen if his beloved wife was suddenly taking an interest in his butler? He couldn't seem to fathom the thought but hearing her words, he smiled and asked her.

"It might sound selfish of me, but Erza, I ask of you. Don't ever lay your eyes on someone aside from me, 'kay?"

Erza lightly laughed at him after witnessing his anxious reverie. "Of course, I won't, so please don't get any bad ideas, will you?"

He nodded and soon heard her stomach grumble. Consciously turning her face away in embarrassment, he smiled as he brought his hands on hers. "Then, shall we dine first?"

"Can I see myself first?"

"Alright,"

After handing her the mirror, she gasped. Seeing her on reflection made her jaw-dropped; she bit her lower lip, preventing herself from freaking out. How did a character from a novel completely look like me? She thought to herself before feeling his hands tighten around hers.

"Is something wrong?" he asked.

"D-do I g-genuinely look this pretty?"

He let out a soft cackle before caressing her cheek and spoke. "Always been, Erza. Then shall we dine?" he asked after hearing her stomach grumble again. She then nodded as her face matched her hair's color.

"I'm sorry." She said, covering her face.

"It's fine. Now, say ah," Jellal said as he scooped the spoon to her soup.

"Je-Jellal, I can feed myself!" she exclaimed as she watched him feed her.
