A/N: It's been years since my last update. I had worked my ass up during those years, tbh. It's freaking tiring, anyways; kindly bear with me. It's been a while since I wrote this story; although the draft was already finished, I'm missing some things here, but I'll fix it later.

"Then, will you abandon me again because of that? Why are you so selfish, Erschelle? Did you ever consider my feelings at all?"

His remarks had broken the confined stillness in their chamber. Erza caught her breath as the weight of his words lingered in the air, trying not to break into tears. Selfish, you say?

"Can't you see that I've tried to kill you twice already, Jellal! Did you really thought that your love can solve this?" She replied, her eyes flashing.

Jellal's eyes widened in bewilderment as he heard Erza's words. How did she find out? The realization washed over him, rendering him momentarily speechless. Was the potion's effect already worn off?

"I cannot fathom how I had feloniously betrayed you and now I'm still latching myself to you for me to survive but I did not deserve all of this. Jellal, the guilt is killing me." Her voice cracked as she saw him lower his head, avoiding her prying gaze.

"J-Jellal," Erza mumbled as she knelt, struggling to find her words. "Please abandon me, I beg you," she screamed, recalling the events of that night.

The night after their wedding

"You don't have to kill him right away, Erschelle. The imperial family will suspect our family if something bad happens on your wedding night." Her father said as he anxiously handed her the poison.

She blankly stared at the vial in her pale hand. Her heart felt bitter as he had heard her father's protest; she sighed as she slid the vial into her gown.

"Wouldn't that be an interesting sight to behold?" she scoffed as an evil grin painted her lips.

Jellal's feelings churned as he tried to process what he had witnessed. Her trembling hands gripped his, her eyes riveted on the floor. Erza, the vilest man's daughter in the empire, was vulnerable before him. Are her memories back? Memories of the past surged him; if this were the Erschelle he married before the incident, she would only wish for his death, but the lady in front of him was his Erza, the Erza he knew and grew up with before being handed over to Blanche's family.

"She will be the death of you, Your Highness."

He's completely conscious of Caleb's warning, yet he can't help but tolerate his feelings for her. If she is to be my death, I will plunge that knife deep into my heart without hesitation. He clasped her hand in his and tugged her fragile body back to their bed.

"I understand that your memories are back and you might've detested me for forcing you to marry me. But can't we ever start over again, Erschelle?" His voice was filled with concern as he gently reached for her hand.

She knew deep down that she should leave him because he deserved someone better, but reality had struck her hard, and his character was so in love with Erschelle that he was willing to risk everything to resurrect her. She took a deep breath and braced herself. How foolish of me? Why did I ever think that the best way to avoid hurting you was by leaving you, Jellal?

"I'm so sorry, Jellal. I did not mean to hurt you again." She sobbed as she struggled to find the right words to express herself.

Her voice trembled slightly as she tried to convey her thoughts. "I'm so sorry. I had tried to kill you."

Jellal cradled Erza as tears flowed over her cheeks, her sorrow and despair flowing in pulses. He caressed her hair softly, soothingly and enabling her to find solace in his embrace. As Erza's sobs began to subside, Jellal softly mumbled words of comfort. "Let us start again, let's forget about the past, Erschelle. I'd rather die than see you with someone else."

Erza groggily opened her eyes as the morning light cast a soft glow, highlighting the emptiness around her. She squinted as she adjusted her eyes to the brightness. She was anticipating seeing him alongside her as she cried in his arms the night before, but it was empty. She was crestfallen as she clutched the sheets under his pillows. I wish he stayed.

She rolled to her side and noticed the freshly picked daffodils. Her lips curled into a smile as she read his handwriting.

"They say daffodils means new beginnings. I hope we'll make things right and I'm sorry for leaving without a word. You know I had always loved you. Always will."

She was so engrossed in reading the letter that she had not noticed the butler's announcement of his entrance. Cedric's nonchalant yet composed visage greeted her.

"I see, you had read the letter already. His Highness, Prince Jellal, was summoned yet again to the palace and he had urgent matters to attend to this morning as stated in the letter from the palace. He asked me to assure you that he will return soon. In the meantime, he wanted you to have this to accompany you while he was away." Cedric stated as they moved the piano to her grandiose room.

Erza's heart fluttered at the thought of Jellal's gesture, encasing her in a bittersweet emotion. Her satisfaction was coupled with a longing for his presence, but she acknowledged that duties sometimes required brief separations between them.

"Thank you," she mouthed, grabbing the letter closer to her bosom.

A/N: I won't promise, but I'll do my best to finish this story this month. I just missed writing stuff, though. Please leave some reviews! Thanks.
