Scorpius barely got to enjoy the first few days of his winter break before he had to attend tutoring classes with his great aunt Andromeda. It was a very strange first meeting between him, his grandmother, mother, and his father, but he settled in alright once they started on his schooling. He was behind in his studies since his parents transferred him to Beauxbatons for his second year of school. After assuring the Headmistress he could catch up with the rest of his peers, Scorpius knew that his winter, spring, and summer breaks weren't going to be all that fun. Catching up on two years worth of education—they accepted his credits from his first year of Hogwarts at least—wasn't going to be easy.

Until he showed up at Andromeda's house to see his best friend Albus sitting at the table with homework sprawled out.

Scorpius didn't even hesitate to accept the bounding hug from Albus. "Hey, long time no see."

"School has been so lame since you've left," Albus said, sitting back down. "I heard you were tutoring with Andromeda, so I figured I will, too."

Scorpius smiled at their commitment, knowing Albus wasn't the most studious type in Ravenclaw. He was just glad to be able to spend time with them, even if it meant they were working on schoolwork the entire time.

"How is it over there?" Albus inquired.

"Well, it is definitely challenging my French, but it's been alright," Scorpius said, tapping his quill on a book. "Honestly it's been a giant emotional rollercoaster. I am so far behind, but if I keep at it, it shouldn't be difficult to be caught up by next term."

"Wait, how do you know what that is?" Albus asked, interrupting Scorpius.

Scorpius raised a brow. "Know what what is?"

"A rollercoaster. You know what one is?"

"Sort of," Scorpius said, smirking. "I remember you explaining to me what one was like after we experienced the moving stairs for the first time."

Albus laughed at the recollection. "Oh, yeah. I remember that."

"Just to make sure; it is a fast carriage that follows a metal pathway?"

They chuckled again, amused by the question. "I'll have to convince your parents to take you on one in the summer. They're way more fun than a broom."

Scorpius cringed, focusing back on his work in front of him. "I'll take your word for it."
