Author's Note: Okay, so this came out of left field, but I really wanted to write something light and funny and fluffy between this little family I have made. This is a huge turning point from all the angst to all the fluffy family love I love about them. This takes place in conjunction to the previous chapter's first half, and based on my conveniently placed date stamps, a week has passed. The next chapter will focus on the time skip and the dreaded meet up with the Potter-Weasley clan. I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Coffee with a Side of Pranks

1st of April, 2010

Scorpius woke up earlier than usual due to the excitement of the day, throwing off his blankets and bouncing out of bed. It was Freddie and George's birthday (who he was now able to openly call Daddy and Pa and was so very excited to be doing that now), and it was one of his most favorite days next to his own birthday, of course. He didn't even bother changing out of his pajamas before heading out into the kitchen where the twins already were. His father was still asleep for the time being, which gave them the time needed to set up some fun little pranks to pull on him.

His excitement was stemmed from Fred and George telling him they'd teach him how to pull pranks today of all days; April Fool's! It was also their birthday, so it was a two for one deal, in Scorpius' opinion.

"Morning, squirt," George said, ruffling his silky soft blond hair. "Sleep well?"

Scorpius nodded, having had a room of his own for a week now. It was a little strange not sharing the bed with his father at first, but it didn't last too long when he was able to sprawl out wherever he wanted or not having to pretend he was asleep while his father silently cried beside him some nights.

"Super well, Daddy. Did you and Pa?"

"We slept wonderfully," Fred said from the stove. "Pancakes?"

"Oh, yes, please!"

He grabbed a chair to pull closer to the kitchen to stand on and help make them while the three talked about what mischief they could pull off today. George got the coffee on and moved the cream and sugar to the table along with a few ceramic mugs while Fred set the table, leaving Scorpius to make his own batch of pancakes. He was quite proud of them as he placed them on a plate, hopped off the chair, and brought them to the table. George lazily flicked his wand to shut off the heat and move the pan off the burner and had the chair dance back over to the table.

"Happy birthday!" Scorpius squealed, presenting two pancakes that were supposed to look like a cake to each of them. "Birthday pancake shapes!"

"Delicious!" they both said, Fred looking over Scorpius' shoulder at them.

"Can't have birthday pancakes without ice cream and berries!" Fred announced, placing a bowl of mixed berries and vanilla ice cream on the table.

Scorpius scooted in on his chair beside George, a huge grin on his face when he looked at the sugar shaker in the center of the table. He leaned into George as if to share a secret.

"Hey, Pa. What if I take the sugar lid off but leave it just on top like it's still on? Would that be funny?" he half-whispered.

"Messing with your fathers coffee first thing in the morning? That's just downright devilish," Fred teased, overhearing Scorpius. the smile on his face holding no malice to his words. "I love it."

George handed Scorpius the sugar and he promptly unscrewed it until it was just off before he put it back.

"Should his mug be stuck to the table, too?" Scorpius asked, looking between the twins.

"Not holding back, I see," George said, smirking as he cast a sticking charm under Draco's second favorite mug.

"And a whooping cushion!" Scorpius nearly shouted in excitement, holding up one in his hand.

"Shhh, you'll wake up the sleeping dragon," Fred said, putting a finger up to his mouth.

Scorpius blushed in embarrassment at the slip up, but proceeded to slip the cushion under the chairs padding where Draco liked to sit.

"He's coming! Quickly, act normal now!" George whisper-shouted, coming back from the small corridor. "Stay cool, Scorp."

Scorpius sat down at his spot beside George while Fred pulled the coffee off and grabbed the plate of extra pancakes to bring to the table. Scorpius kicked his dangling feet under him, fidgety and excited to see his pranks play out. He turned to Draco the second his father emerged from the corridor, half-awake yet still dressed for the day.

"Morning, father!" Scorpius greeted all too eagerly. "I helped make breakfast!"

Scorpius glanced to Fred and George who casually prepped their pancakes with toppings, giving his father a lazy wave of their hands as they tucked into their breakfast.

"Morning, sleepyhead."

"Got your coffee here waiting."

"Thanks," Draco said but didn't move toward the table.

Reaching for the berries, Scorpius kept shifting his gaze toward his father, the seat, cup, and sugar. Curling his lips inward to try and hold in his snickering, he wrinkled his nose and smiled.

"Going to sit, father?"

He looked suspicious despite his groggy appearance, moving his sharp eyes between the three before resting on Scorpius who couldn't help but chuckle.

"Alright. What did you do?" his father asked, folding his arms together.

Scorpius' face fell some, prompting George to jump to his feet and move toward Draco. Fred ruffled his hair and dropped a scoop of ice cream on top of his pancake.

"Don't fret, kiddo."

He could hear George whispering to his father, but couldn't distinguish what was said. He took a small bite of ice cream, knowing he;d not be able to have it the second his father sat down. A moment passed and the two came to the table then where George retook his seat beside Scorpius, who looked at him curiously. George gave him a wink and went back to his breakfast.

Draco examined the pancakes and everything else on the table. "You made these, Scorpius?"

Scorpius nodded wildly, trying to keep it together. "Yup!"

"And having ice cream, I see…"

"No…" Scorpius said, putting his arm in front of his plate to try and hide it.

Draco slowly sat in his chair, letting out the loud frroooooooot from the whoopie cushion. Scorpius burst out laughing, nearly falling out of his seat in the process. George kept him upright, finding his laughter infectious. Draco just put his hand on his forehead, shaking it slightly before reaching for the coffee to pour. Scorpius settled just long enough to watch the sugar go everywhere on the table when his father went to add it to his mug, to which he fell right into George's lap from another wave of laughter.

"He sure got you, love," Fred said between snickers.

Draco dropped his head in his hands and groaned. "I feel like my head is about to explode," he uttered under his breath.

What he was hiding was a soft smile, discreetly looking over at Scorpius laughing uncontrollably nearby. He really did love hearing and seeing him so happy.

"Gee, I think you done them both in," Fred said, sliding a fresh, unsoiled mug of coffee Draco's way while watching his brother and Scorpius roll with hysterical glee. "The mug is stickied to the table, so don't bother or you'll have coffee all over ya, too. Don't think they could handle that. I discouraged the egg trick, by the way."

"Thanks, I guess," Draco murmured, accepting the safe coffee gladly. "Happy birthday to you, by the way."
