Everlasting Ink
Luna hummed a quiet tune as she sketched in her notepad. Comfortably sprawled out on the long bench placed behind the counter of her tattoo shop, Everlasting Ink, she continued drawing out the feathers of a photorealistic swan when the chime on the door pulled her attention away.
"Oh, hello, Harry," she said, getting to her feet and moving toward the counter, holding out her black-and white inked drawing to him. "Do you think Blaise will like it?"
Harry sat the bag containing leftover curry from last night down, along with the freshly baked triple-berry cobbler he had picked up at the Leaky Cauldron before giving the swan a good look over.
"The feathers are amazing as always, love," he said, nodding. "Blaise is going to love it."
Luna smiled, laying the sketch pad down beside the computer to rest her hands over Harry's. Her pale fingers drew light circles over his brown skin, and she flicked her multi-colored hair out of her face to see him better.
"Is he still studying?"
"Yeah," Harry said, turning his hands so he could grasp hers in them. "He is taking the reversion to Islamic faith quite seriously. I'm glad that his mother has finally found someone who loves her for her."
Luna hummed thoughtfully. "Indeed. It certainly is a good sign that Blaise has become quite attached as well. I am proud of him for taking this step to show his acceptance and dedication to his mother's fiancé."
"Me, too." Harry busied himself with the bag, pulling the container out along with utensils. "Blaise wanted you to make sure to eat. We still don't know why you opened today. You have no clients scheduled."
Harry turned the open laptop to face him, pushing up his glasses while looking at the blank schedule list. Luna took the food and snuck a bite of the mixed berry cobbler with a fork while he was distracted.
"Well, you can't get business without being open. We are still new and tattoos are still a bit…" Luna waved a hand in the air. "...taboo. It's why I decided to set up where I did."
It had been Luna's dream to open up a tattoo and piercing studio since her third year of Hogwarts. Harry always found her sketching in her freetime or leaving class with doodles up her arms from her quill. They were always beautiful, especially when she charmed them to move. Those were her specialty, but Blaise thought her talent was wasted as she had only had non-magical clients so far. Regardless, he still supported her choices, as did Harry, and she was eternally grateful to have them both in her life.
Luna's studio stood right beside the Leaky Cauldron rather than within Diagon Alley. She wanted to share her talent with the non-magical folk as well as the wixen, so the location was perfect to attract both clientele. Of course, in the three months since she first opened, she had managed to tattoo a fair amount of customers, but none that she could do her moving art on yet. It was going to take time for their world to heal, and she was content with it.
Of course, Harry had commissioned a piece from her the day the studio opened; he now sported a pair of red lilies that adorned a silver stag's horns with a doe laying at his feet nuzzling a fawn on his back to commemorate his parents. Blaise had opted for a small, simplified Zabini family crest on his wrist but now decided to take the leap and get a swan on his back before he committed to his new faith. It held a lot of symbolism for him, Luna knew. Not only was it her own animagus form, it was Blaine's patronus and Harry's favorite bird. A happy coincidence they all gladly took as a sign of their soulmate connection.
It was also the reason why Luna was taking such care with this piece; she wanted it to be perfect, and so far it was turning out to be even better.
